I would very much like [PSL] to join [the European Coalition]. [Experience and intuition tell me] that they will join, because for PSL, considering the specifics of their electorate and the fact that they are fighting a very difficult battle in the Polish countryside against PiS, a coalition e.g. only with PO might be uncomfortable. However, with a broad coalition, which includes various former coalition partners from government times, it is ideologically much safer. I believe reason will prevail and indeed the idea of a broad pro-European opposition will triumph, going to elections with a single list, which doesn't mean identical views on all matters - stated Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- I think that statement [by Robert Biedroń] hurt him in the eyes and ears of many citizens. It sounded like a kind of dissonance with the smiling, pleasant, young man who usually spoke positively about others, because it's clear that political emotions and the desire to nick the competition are taking over here. In my opinion, people with experience in national politics should participate in the European Parliament elections. Perhaps this statement by Mr. Biedroń stems from a perhaps justified realization that his own, and especially his entire milieu's, biggest drawback so far is a complete lack of political experience. He himself has it, because he was in SLD, Palikot's party, but that is purely parliamentary experience, and yet experience in politics counts – stated Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- You know, that's a stupid question. A stupid question because you don't get invited to funerals, and you also don't ask why someone attended or not. You can ask the current president and prime minister about it, because they are bound by protocol. It's my private matter why I was [at Paweł Adamowicz's funeral]. One shouldn't ask why someone was or wasn't at a funeral, because you go to funerals out of heartfelt necessity and you don't control it. It's some manifestation of corrupt customs, journalists probing: why weren't you at the funeral? And why should I have been? - stated Bronisław Komorowski in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet, when asked – on behalf of listeners – why he was not present at Jan Olszewski's funeral.

- I wasn't there because I was ill at the time. As for Olszewski's funeral, despite his incredibly strange evolution for me, from the KOR milieu to right-wing deviations, from that PPS tradition to easily accepting nationalism, I intended to go to this funeral, I wanted to go, out of respect for the memory and acquaintance with Jan Olszewski from the times of the anti-communist opposition, but I was simply ill - added the former president.

There is no such thing as the June 4th Movement, as Chairman Tusk says. There isn't. Neither with capital letters nor lowercase. There will definitely be a meeting. We will all participate because the holiday and the day are important. A symbolic date, my daughter was also born on this day - said Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Polish Radio Three's "Political Salon". What will happen later, what will happen next. As I talk with local government officials, they very much want to treat this day as a celebration of integrating local government - added Schetyna.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki acknowledges that there were "individual criminals among Poles, as in any other nation," but he will not accept any generalizations about Poland's involvement as a nation and Poles as a people in Nazi crimes.

In an interview with "Haaretz" conducted this week, following the outbreak of the current diplomatic crisis between Israel and Poland, Morawiecki states that he is deeply offended by the comment of interim Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who quoted former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, saying: "Poles sucked antisemitism with their mother's milk." Morawiecki claims that these words led to the cancellation of his participation in the Visegrad Group summit, which was to take place in Israel this week.

- It is not a problem for me when someone mentions that during the cruel, evil, dehumanizing war, there were individual criminals among my nation – of course there were, just as there were in any other nation - says Morawiecki. - But when stereotypes are used, such as 'every Pole has sucked antisemitism from his mother's breast,' that is nothing but racism.

Morawiecki also describes his reaction to Katz's insult: - When I first heard about it, it seemed completely unbelievable to me. Such words could be uttered by a radical extremist, not a foreign minister. He further states: - I understand that during an election campaign, some politicians want to make headlines.

- We in Poland also deal with antisemitism to some extent, but fortunately, it is marginal - says Morawiecki, citing a recent report by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. - Poland is one of the few countries in the EU where the number of antisemitic incidents is decreasing, while in many other countries, we are observing disturbing events - he says, noting that antisemitism seems to be growing in countries like France, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

- I will emphasize again: this plague in Poland is marginal. It is sad that antisemitism seems to be the official stance of one of the leading representatives of the Israeli government – said the Polish Prime Minister.

- I don't believe a deep crisis exists between Poland and Israel. I understand that during the election campaign, some politicians want to make headlines. Generally, however, my government is one of the most pro-Israel in the EU and the UN. We have openly criticized the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) initiatives targeting Israel. The V4 summit in Jerusalem was meant to be another step in building friendship between us and Israel – after all, it was supposed to be the first Visegrad Group summit held outside our region – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with "Haaretz", when asked to comment on the current crisis between the two countries. Morawiecki states that he hopes Israeli politicians "will know how to react, and I hope we will soon be able to return to unhindered, fruitful cooperation."

“There are many distinctive individuals among us. We have the right to submit legislative proposals and to vote them through. Public life goes on. „PiS has already put forward its 'ones' and 'twos'. In our assessment, they are strong. Recognizable individuals with experience who will worthily represent their voters and Poland in Brussels. We are going there to make good decisions that will serve Poles, so that Poland has a strong representative, to represent the interests of our voters, not to report on Poland” - said Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News.

„We are all running to win. And I assume that if we win, each of us will accept the mandate. Everyone who is running is doing so with the intention that if they win, they will accept the mandate and become MEPs. The accusation against Joachim Brudziński or other individuals is absurd to the extent that neither journalists nor the opposition made such accusations 5 years ago” – stated Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek in a conversation with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News.

“If it comes to the point where [Tusk] is the opposition's presidential candidate, then such a civic movement can be his base. He can be a civic candidate for president, not directly a party one. This is probably also something that is constantly germinating in Donald Tusk’s mind. This is a good direction of thinking” – said Sławomir Neumann, head of the Civic Platform-Koalicja Obywatelska parliamentary club, in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

„We are not here to invent 500+, but to offer Poles a program that will be an alternative to the centralist, anti-democratic, anti-citizen, anti-European government of PiS. These will be solutions that will positively show Poles how a new Poland can be built”

– said Sławomir Neumann, head of the Civic Platform (PO-KO) parliamentary club, in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- Mr. Bartosik is not held accountable by the prosecutor, and the prosecution pretends there is no problem here. It pretends the case is suitable for dismissal. It turns out that, just like in the case of a certain important PiS politician involved in real estate development in Warsaw, the prosecution, because the matter concerns PiS, does absolutely nothing. One could say more. It does everything to ensure the case ends without charges being filed, without drawing obvious consequences for those breaking the law. It turns out that being in PiS or knowing a key PiS minister allows one not only to disregard the road traffic code but also to drive without a license. It turns out that knowing Mr. Macierewicz is more important than having valid authorization to drive a privileged vehicle. There can be no acceptance of Polish law being broken in this way. There can be no acceptance of the prosecution sweeping such matters under the rug. Therefore, we will file a report with the prosecutor's office against the prosecutors conducting this investigation for dereliction of duty – said Marcin Kierwiński during a press conference in the Sejm.

- The second motion we are filing is a notification to the prosecutor's office concerning Mr. Kazimierz Bartosik. The man who caused a pile-up on one of the Polish roads received documents that authorized him to drive in a convoy and in privileged vehicles 12 days after the accident – added Cezary Tomczyk. 

„The 2019 European Parliament elections are the most important elections, arguably not only for Poland but also for the European Union, since 2004, when we joined the EU. This is due to both the situation in Poland, where for 3 years we have had a government that is pushing us out of the EU, that is destroying democracy in Poland, but also because after these elections, there will be more anti-European forces in the EU. That is why it is so important for Poland to have a strong representation of pro-European forces that want to build a strong EU and a strong position within the EU. Now!, a political party, is joining the European Coalition. Ryszard Petru, the leader of Now!, has proposed the creation of a joint opposition club.
