SLD Joins the European Coalition. Schetyna: We Await Further Partners
A convention was held, which is the highest party authority between congresses. I wanted to say that we have adopted a minimum program for the EP elections. This minimum program includes points such as a European minimum wage, accession to and introduction of the euro currency in Poland, provided that the effect of this will be an increase in wages and living conditions for Poles. We considered that joining the banking union would be a very sensible element. This would eliminate all pathologies that we have recently observed concerning the KNF and the banking system in Poland. We also decided that further EU integration, including the eventual establishment of a common army, would be a reasonable direction – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a briefing.
I also wanted to say that after a very long discussion, we have today decided to respond to the appeal of the prime ministers and join the European Coalition – informed the leader of SLD. – As SLD, we will be nominating, among others, three prime ministers. These prime ministers are leaders who headed SLD governments and will be nominated by SLD – he emphasized.
