Political Plan for Tuesday: President Duda to Decide on National Mourning, ECJ on EC's Complaint Regarding the Supreme Court Act, Biedroń in Wrocław

At 8:45, Minister Elżbieta Rafalska will hold her press briefing on the "Senior+" program. At 9:00, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland and the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania will convene. At 16:30, Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz will meet with the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.

At 9:30, the EU Court of Justice will hear the case regarding the European Commission's complaint against Poland concerning the Supreme Court Act. In essence, this concerns the lowering of the retirement age for Supreme Court judges. A hearing on preliminary rulings from the Supreme Court was also scheduled for today, but it has been cancelled.

Today, President Andrzej Duda will announce his decision regarding the declaration of national mourning following the death of Prime Minister Jan Olszewski. "When declaring national mourning, the President cooperates with the Prime Minister, with their countersignature. Final arrangements regarding the scope of the mourning are underway. We will inform you promptly once they are made. The President has responded to the public's widespread expectation," Minister Paweł Mucha announced yesterday on Polskie Radio 24. At 15:30, PAD will present state decorations to employees of the Military Institute of Medicine in Warsaw.

Robert Biedroń – as part of his tour across the country – will visit Wrocław. The regional convention of the Spring party is scheduled for 18:00. Additionally, a government meeting will take place today at 10:00.

Dubois:

I am very pleasantly surprised by yesterday's prosecutor's hearing

I am very pleasantly surprised, even [by yesterday's prosecutor's hearing]. We have a wonderful prosecutor, extremely inquisitive. We probably left the prosecutor's office around 8 PM. Many questions, delving into details. We didn't manage to finish because so many new threads opened up that we will continue this interrogation – stated Jacek Dubois in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." As he emphasized, he has great respect for the rank-and-file employees of the judiciary, especially judges and prosecutors, but he does not trust the people who lead them.

I can say that the prosecutor is very diligently gathering evidence. She gained our client's trust so much that she learned much more than we did. Completely new circumstances are emerging in the case. Which confirm that a crime has been committed and point to the individuals guilty of committing it – he added, noting that a huge amount of evidence has been submitted.

07:56

Dubois:

Kaczyński didn't expect anyone would dare. Because the vilification starts immediately

- A simple thing. Mr. Kaczyński surely didn't expect anyone would dare. Because the vilification, the attack, starts immediately. Please look at how many accusations Mr. Kaczyński's circle has made. No one sympathizes with the victim, no one says that a person was deprived of a huge sum of money, was exploited for a year and worked for free, but right now there's an attempt to discredit them - stated Jacek Dubois in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:01

Dubois:

My Client Was a Victim of Manipulation

- We are talking about the amount of 1 million 300 thousand euros [we are demanding from the Srebrna company] - stated Jacek Dubois in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

When asked why they didn't go to court, he replied: - It's quite simple. My client was a victim of manipulation. The person who commissioned him pretended to be someone he was not. Yes, yes, I'm talking about President Kaczyński. [He pretended] to be a person authorized to make all decisions on behalf of Srebrna and guaranteed that all obligations would be paid.

08:08

Dubois:

The Chairman is Misleading the Public
The Chairman [Jarosław Kaczyński] is misleading the [public] opinion because he participated in many meetings with lawyers where this agreement was negotiated and prepared. It was changed multiple times. Every subsequent draft is with the prosecutor's office. My client's remuneration was included in the business plan, so this is simply manipulation or a falsehood - stated Jacek Dubois in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". As he emphasized, "the Chairman constantly monitored the progress of the work".

When asked why his client did not enter into a written agreement with Srebrna or Chairman Kaczyński, he replied: - He did. Of course, he did. Only he entered into it with a special purpose vehicle indicated by the Chairman. Yes, of course [he has this agreement in writing]. This agreement covers the entire process, which corresponded to 3% of the investment value. However, because the investment was interrupted at a certain stage, as the investment was supposed to last 5 years, it was interrupted after a year and a few months, and as per the detailed tariff for individual works, this amount emerges. Dubois confirmed that it concerns an agreement between Birgfellner and authorized persons, but he does not remember the names at the moment. The agreement is to be with the prosecutor's office. As he stated, Chairman Kaczyński was aware of it.

08:19

Karczewski on National Mourning: I Don't Know the Exact Hours. I Know It Will Happen.

- I don't know, I don't know the exact hours. I know that within such a timeframe, approximately, there will be national mourning. I know that there will be national mourning - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:20

Karczewski:

If I Had Become Mayor of Warsaw, I Would Have Definitely Approved the Tadeusz Mazowiecki Monument
As you know, I was supposed to be a candidate for the mayor of Warsaw. If I had become the mayor of Warsaw, I would have definitely approved it and would have stood with those who wanted to build such a monument. I certainly would not have been against it, as the Civic Platform (Platforma) was against building the Lech Kaczyński monument. I certainly would have shown great goodwill in this regard – stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:27

Karczewski on Kujda: If this past turns out to be true, he should resign from his position
This is a consequence of what happened in 1992. If we had carried out lustration, we would have had a lot behind us. I am a proponent of lustration. I was, I am, and I will remain a proponent of lustration. I believe it should be carried out thoroughly, in all environments. Here I will say something that may surprise you, also in the church environment, also among academic teachers. We are very much lacking this, and this is its consequence. If lustration had been done, we wouldn't have this situation. I don't know the situation with President [Kujda] exactly. I know the president, I worked with him very well, a very reliable person, but if he has such a past, if this past turns out to be true, then he should resign from his position, if it is true – stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. – There are no sacred cows in our environment – emphasized the Marshal of the Senate.

08:29

Kownacki:

Olszewski Will Be Buried in Powązki. National Mourning for Such an Eminent Person, Longer Than One Day, is Fully Justified

It seems that national mourning for such an eminent person, longer than one day, is fully justified, especially since the funeral ceremonies will begin on Friday” - said Bartosz Kownacki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

[Prime Minister Olszewski] will be buried in Powązki. I wouldn't want to prejudge the exact location. It must be a dignified place that will be historically significant” - he added.

08:35

Kownacki:

If I were to rule on Birgfellner's report, I would refuse to initiate proceedings. Based on the evidence we know, I see no grounds for an investigation.

"If I were to rule on this matter [reported by Birgfellner], I would refuse to initiate proceedings. I would certainly conduct verification activities, as a notification has been filed and the person filing the notification has been heard. Based on the evidence we know, I see no grounds for an inquiry or investigation," said Bartosz Kownacki from PiS in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:49

Karczewski on Kujda: Perhaps he has already resigned. I know a little more, things are moving in a good direction
I don't know what the situation is. I am convinced, and deeply convinced, that it will be resolved quickly. Perhaps [Kazimierz Kujda] has already [resigned], perhaps he has submitted a letter. I know a little more, I can't say, but believe me, things are moving in a very good direction - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. At the same time, he noted that he does not know if Kujda has resigned.

09:35

Mazurek:

Kujda Should Resign, and His Resignation Should Be Accepted

- Today, the Supervisory Board is to make a decision in this matter [concerning Kazimierz Kujda]. This was stated by the Minister of the Environment in one of the programs. So I can only repeat what I heard, as I have no greater knowledge about whether he will be dismissed, nor do I have the authority to dismiss him - stated Beata Mazurek in an interview with journalists. She added:

"I don't know [if he offered his resignation to the PiS chairman]. If he had offered his resignation, not to the PiS chairman, but truly to his professional superior, it would not be a surprise to anyone. The question is whether he should do it. He is a problem for our environment, so it seems to me that yes. That he should resign [from the position of NFOŚiGW president] and in my opinion, this resignation should be accepted."

- In this situation, when he has submitted his resignation, I cannot imagine the board not accepting this resignation. He offered himself to be at disposal, so I understand that he submitted his resignation. Because how else should this be understood? I don't know what offering oneself to be at disposal means then - said the PiS spokesperson, emphasizing that she is referring to the words of the Minister of the Environment.

NFOŚiGW Council Convened for the 14th; Kowalczyk: Decisions on Kujda to be Made There. Removing Kujda Now Would Paralyze the Management Board, Which Requires at Least 3 Members. Currently, There Are 3.
This information [regarding Kujda] is saddening and embarrassing, especially since President Kujda is an excellent professional when it comes to the substantive management of NFOŚiGW. The fund's council has been convened for today. Appropriate decisions will be made there. There is a certain legal problem. The fund's management board should consist of 3 to 5 people. Currently, there are 3 individuals. If President Kujda were to be dismissed now, immediately, the management board would be unable to function. We must resolve this practical and legal issue,” stated Minister Henryk Kowalczyk on Jedynka radio.

The council meeting is scheduled to commence at the NFOŚiGW headquarters at 2:00 PM.

10:01

Błaszczak:

Relations with the United States are the Best in History. Co-organizing the Middle East Conference is Poland's Achievement. It Demonstrates the Country's Growing International Standing

"Relations with the United States are very good. I think they are the best in history. We care about Poland being safe. This alliance with the United States leads precisely to that. The fact that we are co-organizing a conference on peace in the Middle East is undoubtedly Poland's achievement. It demonstrates Poland's growing position on the international stage," Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said on Jedynka radio.

11:08

Jakubiak:

Watching TVN, I thought Andruszkiewicz was already in jail. I haven't seen such a biased report in a long time.

- Watching TVN, I thought Adam Andruszkiewicz was already in jail. I haven't seen such a biased report in a long time. The court will verify who is right on this matter. As far as I know, every member of the government is vetted by the services - stated Marek Jakubiak in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on the WP program "Tłit".

11:10

Jakubiak:

TVP's Method Involves Promoting SLD and Biedroń, Which I Directly Experience
- TVP employs a method whereby they begin to promote SLD and Biedroń, which I directly experience because I am completely banned from these media. Everything to the right of PiS is blocked in these media - stated Marek Jakubiak in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's program "Tłit".

11:43

Korwin-Mikke:

"The National Electoral Commission Claims We No Longer Exist. We Must Explain This To Them, Otherwise They'll Forbid Our Coalition. We'll Still Run, But Not Under Our Preferred Name."
The Supreme Court has just sent the case back to the Court of Appeal, the Court of Appeal sent it back to the District Court, annulling the District Court's decision, but the registration remains, only the ruling is invalid. Our status is that we are still in the same position as we were two years ago, before all these matters. Meanwhile, the National Electoral Commission claims that at this moment we have ceased to exist, because the National Electoral Commission is apparently not informed, and we will have to explain this to the National Electoral Commission, because if we don't explain it, they will forbid us to form a coalition. And we will still run, of course, but not under the name we would like - stated Janusz Korwin-Mikke in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

PO Files Complaint Against Head of CBA for Failing to Investigate Kaczyński's Financial Declarations. Tomczyk: The Polish State Must Function Despite Leaders of CBA and ABW Being Involved in Srebrna

Last week, we learned that the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA), under the leadership of Ernest Bejda, has no intention of initiating proceedings regarding Jarosław Kaczyński's financial declarations. We consider this an exceptional scandal. We know that Bejda worked at Srebrna. The head of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) also worked for the company, but today it must be clearly stated that the Polish state must function despite the fact that the heads of the CBA and ABW were involved with the Srebrna company, said Cezary Tomczyk from Civic Platform (PO) at a press conference in the Sejm.

Anyone can see for themselves what the chairman Kaczyński's declaration looks like and what the recordings reveal. Since the whole of Poland can listen to and read the transcripts of these recordings, does the CBA not notice this? We consider the CBA's matter closed. We are submitting a motion to the prosecutor's office in connection with the failure to fulfill duties by the head of the CBA regarding the lack of verification of Jarosław Kaczyński's financial declarations, he added.

12:52

Dworczyk:

National Mourning for the Passing of Jan Olszewski to Last from Midnight Thursday-Friday until Saturday 7 PM
A great Pole, a great patriot, former Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, has passed away in recent days. Therefore, the funeral ceremonies will have a state character. The Prime Minister's Chancellery will organize the funeral, as Jan Olszewski was also the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, among his many social and political activities. The ceremonies will be two-day and will take place this Friday and Saturday. The burial place of Prime Minister Olszewski will be Powązki Military Cemetery - stated Michał Dworczyk at a briefing at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. A decision has been made between Prime Minister Morawiecki and President Duda that the mourning will take place on Friday and Saturday. From midnight on the night of Thursday to Friday until 7 PM on Saturday - informed the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery.

Ziobro "Concerned" by Wrocław Court's Decision to Release Arsonist of Kempa's Office from Psychiatric Facility. "This is something that must cause concern, especially when we recall the events in Gdańsk."
I would like to express my concern about the decision of the court in Wrocław, which decided to release a perpetrator who very recently committed a very serious crime, an unlawful act, namely setting fire to the parliamentary office of Minister Beata Kempa, knowing that many families, exactly 16 people, including 6 children, reside in this building. Despite this, he wanted to cause a large fire, and in doing so, had to accept that innocent, accidental people could die and burn. He did this – as he claimed – for political reasons, out of political hatred for the current ruling political option, including Minister Kempa" – said the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, at a press conference. If there is a high probability that he will commit this type of crime again, then releasing such a perpetrator is something that must cause concern, especially if we recall the events in Gdańsk and consider that this person could soon be at liberty" – he added.

Ziobro on ECJ Proceedings: The European Commission's Quibbling Stance Won't Earn Points for the Opposition, Which Timmermans Relies On So Heavily

"There is such a concept as 'quibbling'. The essence of the European Commission is to seek compromise, and Mr. Timmermans, in conversations with me, declared the Commission's willingness to withdraw from the dispute if an agreement were reached and the claims made by the Commission were taken into account. We did not share the merit of these expectations, but in the name of higher reasons, we made a political decision to incorporate those elements that the Commission brought into the complaint. Despite this, despite previous declarations, Mr. Timmermans wants to drag this dispute out. He is clearly showing his true intentions, because this is not about a dispute over the judiciary, it's about politics and about dragging out this decision [until] the EP elections, to play Poland politically, to give the opposition the opportunity to win this case against Poland's image, in a situation where the matter is closed and resolved" - said the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, at a press conference.

"This quibbling stance of the European Commission, based on seeking a pretext to wage a dispute at all costs, will not bring positive points for the opposition, which Mr. Timmermans relies on so heavily" - he added.

Kujda Dismissed as NFOŚiGW President; Kowalczyk Accepts Resignation

- The supervisory board of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has just concluded its meeting. It was convened at my request because President Kazimierz Kujda submitted his resignation from the post of president to me. I accepted this resignation and requested the supervisory board to initiate a competitive procedure to appoint his successor - stated Henryk Kowalczyk in a conversation with journalists.

- I wish to emphasize, and I also stressed this very strongly at the supervisory board meeting, that I appreciate President Kujda's immense contributions in terms of the substantive management of the national fund and the excellent utilization of European funds. I collaborated with the president over the past year as Minister of the Environment, but also earlier as head of the Government Legislation Centre. Here, I express great appreciation for his substantive work at the fund - added the Minister of the Environment. As he emphasized, Kujda's decision to resign was a personal one.

15:00

Kowalczyk:

In Our Political Camp, When Doubts Arise, Those Individuals Can Make Such Decisions

- It is worth emphasizing that in our political camp, when some doubts arise, the people around whom such doubts have emerged are capable of making such a decision - stated Henryk Kowalczyk in a conversation with journalists.

- I will remind you: Michał Boni, when there were quite obvious accusations regarding cooperation, which is not the case with President Kujda, has not resigned from anything to this day, whereas in our environment, I stress this very strongly, if there are doubts, there is of course time for self-purification, but this will take time, hence the president's decision to resign - added the Minister of the Environment.

Another Deputy Minister Nominated as Polish Ambassador

Next Thursday, the Foreign Affairs Committee will provide an opinion on the nomination of Bartosz Cichocki for the position of Ambassador of the Republic of Poland. The current Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs is slated to depart for Ukraine, a move President Andrzej Duda spoke about at the end of last year on Polish Radio: - The proposal is for Minister Cichocki, who is indeed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, to go there [to Ukraine]. This would, in effect, be a strengthening of that political representation, and also a strengthening in terms of relations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In turn, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Tomasz Szatkowski, is a candidate for Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to NATO, as we reported on 300POLITYCE.

In Warsaw's Łazienki Park, a meeting has commenced with the participation of Jacek Czaputowicz and Mike Pompeo. The talks are expected to focus on mutual relations, primarily in the context of security and energy.

Gwiazdowski on the Polska Fair Play Movement's European Parliament Election Bid: We'll See Who Has What Assets, Then We'll Need to Think

- In the European Parliament, votes count, not mandates. There's no need to convert votes into mandates. We'll see who has what assets, and then we'll need to think - Robert Gwiazdowski said in a conversation with Karolina Lewicka on TOK FM's "Political Interview."

- For now, we are concentrating on these elections, which are the cheapest and easiest. If the electoral calendar were different, I don't know if we would have decided to enter demanding national elections that require significant investment - Gwiazdowski added.

17:30

Gwiazdowski:

The State Should Not Deal with Worldview Issues. Taxes Must Be Lowered, the Pension System and Justice System Reformed, and Energy Sorted Out

- The state should not deal with worldview issues. The state has a lot of things to do. Firstly, taxes must be lowered, secondly, the pension system must be changed, thirdly, a reform, not a takeover, of the justice system must be implemented, and fourthly, energy must be sorted out. A day only has 24 hours. However, dealing with worldview issues leads to us inciting worldview wars – said Robert Gwiazdowski in an interview with Karolina Lewicka in "Wywiad polityczny" (Political Interview) on TOK FM.

17:39

Jackowski:

PO Fails to Meet Expectations in the Left-Liberal Segment. Wiosna Will Shake Up the Polish Political Scene
"It is evident that Civic Platform is not meeting the expectations of this segment of the electorate in the left-liberal sphere. It is clearly visible that a shift is occurring on the political scene. I believe this is a move that will significantly shake up the Polish political landscape," said PiS senator Jan Maria Jackowski about Wiosna in an interview with Onet.

18:11

Czaputowicz after meeting with Pompeo: We share the stance that the Nord Stream 2 project does not serve Europe's energy security

- I welcomed the United States' commitment to the full implementation of the missile defense installation in Redzikowo. We also discussed energy security. We considered possibilities for further diversification of energy supplies, especially concerning the LNG terminal and gas supplies from the United States, as well as infrastructure expansion and technology development. We share the stance that the Nord Stream 2 project does not serve Europe's energy security. We consider it a misguided undertaking, even harmful to energy security on the continent - said Jacek Czaputowicz after a bilateral meeting attended by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

20:18

Gowin on Kujda: 'I'm not close enough to PiS circles to judge if the Kujda affair was a blow to the heart, kidney, or thigh. It's a painful situation, proof that lustration in Poland was conducted too late and incompletely.'

- I'm not close enough to PiS circles to judge if [the Kazimierz Kujda affair] was a blow to the heart, kidney, or thigh. However, it is certainly a painful situation. Above all, it's proof that lustration in Poland was introduced too late and incompletely. By 'incompletely,' I mean the retention of a very extensive so-called 'reserved collection.' It was only our government that had the courage to declassify this collection, and it is being done gradually, while observing all procedures guaranteeing Poland's intelligence and counterintelligence security – stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

20:23

Adamczyk:

President Kujda's Case is a Problem for Us. We're Not Pretending This Problem Doesn't Exist
This is, as the spokesperson, Ms. Beata Mazurek, said today, this is a problem for us. President Kujda's case is a problem for us, we are not pretending this problem doesn't exist – said Andrzej Adamczyk in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz for Gazeta Wyborcza. - And do you know him well? – the journalist pressed.   - No, I haven't had the opportunity to get to know him closely. It's a kind of acquaintance resulting from relations more connected with performing the duties of a minister, and earlier when I was a member of parliament, in connection with various interpellations, with various postulates, from time to time, but very rarely, when he held office between 2005-2007, I visited President Kujda then, but we weren't connected by any particular, particularly close acquaintance, and, I will repeat once again, if vetting had not been blocked, if access to archives had not been blocked, if all those who expected this vetting had not been ridiculed, then we would not have this problem today. I suspect that such cases may be recorded and will still be recorded everywhere, not only in one political party, but in various areas, in various environments, because circles outside of politics, which should also be subject to vetting, have not been vetted – stated Adamczyk.

20:25

Adamczyk on the Srebrna Case: I See No Grounds for the Prosecutor's Office to Launch an Investigation. I Would Encourage This Entrepreneur to Gather Appropriate Documents to Facilitate the Payment of Due Funds

- I see no grounds for the prosecutor's office to launch an investigation. I would encourage this entrepreneur, who carried out all the preparations for this investment, for which he demanded a certain amount of money, over two million zlotys, as I recently read in an interview with President Jarosław Kaczyński, I would encourage this entrepreneur to gather appropriate documents that would enable the payment of due funds, because today this entrepreneur does not have these documents, so here is the problem, not a problem with any other action directed against this entrepreneur, because, Madam Editor, if the entrepreneur had done what was expected of him, if, I suspect, he had primarily provided the building permit decision, he would have fulfilled his task - said Andrzej Adamczyk in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz for Gazeta Wyborcza.

20:28

Gowin:

I Dedicate NBP President Glapiński's Reading of President Kaczyński's Interview

- I shower regularly enough not to need inspiration from President Glapiński's thoughts, but seriously, I dedicate reading this interview [President Kaczyński's interview for Sieci] to President Glapiński - stated Jarosław Gowin in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

20:31

Nowacka to Biedroń: A Big Appeal to Stop Fighting Each Other. We Will Need a Majority to Vote Through All These Projects

- Today, fireworks, a star. Robert has a lot of charm, a certain coolness that is surely needed in politics. Hence my big appeal to stop fighting each other. Ultimately, if we manage to remove PiS from power, and we will in the autumn of 2019, we will still need a majority to vote through and push through all these projects - said Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program "Kropka nad i".

20:32

Ziobro on the Arrests of Former PKN Orlen Chiefs: A Complex Case. Interrogations Conducted and Charges Filed

"The prosecution will be able to speak about the details of this case [the arrests of the former president and directors of PKN Orlen] when the proceedings are completed and will not be detrimental to the investigation. The proceedings were already conducted today. Interrogations have taken place and charges of committing crimes have been filed against them, although it is a complex, multi-faceted case," said Minister Zbigniew Ziobro in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

20:35

Gowin:

It's no secret that Andruszkiewicz's views are at the opposite pole to mine

- [In Prime Minister Morawiecki's place] I would wait for the prosecutor's findings [regarding Adam Andruszkiewicz]. We'll see if there will be prosecutorial charges, and I also want to remind you that the National Prosecutor transferred the investigation from Białystok. He was not satisfied with the level of inquiry and efficiency - stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News. - I cannot imagine Prime Minister Morawiecki or any other prime minister consulting all his personnel decisions with the Minister of Justice - he added.

- It is no secret that the views expressed by Minister Andruszkiewicz are at the opposite pole to the views represented by myself, Jadwiga Emilewicz - emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

20:42

Nowacka:

Next Week We Will Submit 40,000 Signatures for the Bill on Taxing Clergy and Eliminating Public Funding for Religion Classes

- Next week, we will submit over 40,000 signatures for a bill that introduces several things. Firstly, taxing the clergy and abolishing the Fund, but most importantly, the proposal contained within it states that religion classes will not be removed from schools for now, because that requires an amendment to the Concordat, and let's be honest, that requires two sides and a mutual decision. However, it proposes to eliminate the payment for religion classes from our public funds. If someone wants their child to attend religion, they can send them, but the Church should pay for it – said Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program "Kropka nad i".
