At 10:00 AM, the Sejm's investigative committee on VAT will question former Deputy Finance Minister Andrzej Parafianowicz.

At 11:00 AM, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will visit the Inter Europol production plant in Małopole, Masovian Voivodeship.

Also at 11:00 AM, the leaders of the Coalition Propolskiej: KORWiN, Braun, Liroy, and the National Movement will hold their press conference in the Sejm.

Robert Biedroń, as part of his tour across the country, will visit Poznań. A press conference is scheduled for 1:00 PM, and the regional convention of Wiosna at 6:00 PM.

"Today we organized about 30 demonstrations across Poland, and a large farmers' demonstration will take place on February 6th in Warsaw," said Michał Kołodziejczak, founder of AGROunia, at a press conference in front of the Presidential Palace at the end of January.

"We are protesting because trade in Poland is very poorly organized, and family farms, which form the basis of food production in our country, are losing out," said Kołodziejczak. February 6th falls on today's date.

- We will make a decision next Saturday. I am in favour of forming the broadest possible coalition when it comes to the European Union. I would be pleased, although my party must ultimately decide on this, of course. Regarding my opinion, I believe that a coalition of broad forces, meaning PSL and Nowoczesna, Civic Platform, SLD, and the Green Party, would be the most sensible. Whether my opinion will be supported by the decision of the SLD national convention, we will see in a week and a half - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Michał Rachoń on Polish Radio 24.

- In a democratic state, everyone has the right to protest, and we are focused on dialogue. As a government, we are ready to discuss with any social group within the forms provided - stated Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti", when asked about today's farmers' protest. He added:

"I am convinced that under the PiS government, the problems of the countryside are viewed completely differently. I think the last few months and the actions of Minister Ardanowski have shown how many initiatives and reforms we have undertaken, which were previously only talked about. It's impossible to meet all expectations 100%. In a democratic state, everyone has the right to protest and expect different actions from the authorities. We have done a lot for Polish agriculture. I am convinced that many farmers appreciate this today, and we are ready for discussions with those who believe further actions are needed."

PiS has been implementing a program for 3 years, thanks to which many people in Poland are living better. Many groups still need such changes, and these changes will be guaranteed in further parts of the program that we will present, because we have started a certain path. It is impossible to reform everything bad that has happened over the last dozen or so years overnight. If there have been no pay rises [in the public sector] for over a dozen years, it is impossible to implement such raises overnight that will satisfy everyone. This is planned in stages, and I assure you that in the near future we will present the next stage of the PiS program, which will show that we will strive for Poles to live like people in Western Europe, like residents of Western Europe – stated Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti".

- Let the fact that during the previous European Parliament elections, the Europa Plus coalition formed by Janusz Palikot and Aleksander Kwaśniewski emerged, serve as a warning to the Wiosna party. I remember that in the first poll conducted by the same research firm, this grouping had 17%, and it ended up with just over 3% - said Leszek Miller in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on Polskie Radio Trójka's "Salon Polityczny" (Political Salon).

"I liked the convention, perhaps apart from the confetti. Confetti reminds me of Minister Zieliński from PiS. A lot of populist issues. Many things borrowed from the programs of the Left, SLD, and also from our proposals that we submitted a week earlier" - said the Civic Platform (PO) leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM's Morning program.

“One can promise anything, as Biedroń did, but must reckon with the fact that journalists and voters will ask where the money will come from. Even more pointedly: from whom will he take the money? That is an even more interesting question” - said PO chairman Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM’s Poranek.

- There is a large electorate, especially among the younger generation, which is very receptive to such figures. Eight years ago, Janusz Palikot was such a figure. Four years ago, Petru, Kukiz, to some extent Zandberg. Now it's Robert Biedroń's turn. So, what will happen next? I think he has a chance to enter the Sejm, just like his predecessors. However, after two years, problems usually start to emerge in such ad hoc formations. These problems stem from the fact that a large catalogue of promises, when confronted with the reality of parliamentary work, becomes impossible to fulfill – said Leszek Miller in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on Polskie Radio Trojka's "Salon Polityczny" (Political Salon).

- An international agreement, such as the Concordat, is harder to amend than, for example, the constitution. Robert Biedroń should know this, as he sat in the parliamentary seats and knows how this parliamentary machinery functions. It's not enough to be right; you also need a majority - said Leszek Miller in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on Polskie Radio Program III's "Political Salon".

– At one time, before the previous European Parliament elections, a party which is now forgotten, Europa Plus, then founded by Janusz Palikot and supported by Aleksander Kwaśniewski, received 17% in a poll for the same media outlets, for TVN's "Fakty". Later, in the elections, this party performed much worse, getting 3.58%. Experts in the field call such polls "push polling", meaning various leading questions are asked first, guiding the respondent towards a specific decision, and at the end, a question about support for political parties is posed, yielding such a beautiful result – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Polityczny Kwadrans" (Political Quarter Hour).

- I think Robert Biedroń can fight to cross the threshold in the European Parliament elections. Without a doubt, Civic Platform and this part of the opposition focused around Civic Platform are in a certain crisis. On the one hand, there are personal disputes between Civic Platform and Modern, PO and PSL. On the other hand, there is an evident leadership crisis. Grzegorz Schetyna is currently the most unpopular politician. Within his own party, his leadership is often criticized and challenged. So, Robert Biedroń, presenting himself as a completely new political force – whether he is or not is a topic for a separate discussion, as we know he has been active on the political scene since at least 2001, he was a member of SLD, later a Member of Parliament for the Palikot Movement, he was the mayor of Słupsk and cannot boast any particular achievements there. Recently, the implementation of his election promises was summarized; over 4 years, he actually failed to fulfill any of the most important, flagship promises he ran on 4 years ago. However, he can certainly attract a portion of voters disillusioned with the current state of the opposition. I believe a result in the range of 7-10% is within his reach - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Kwadrans polityczny" (Political Quarter Hour).

- It is impossible that contributions from even many thousands of people could finance such an expensive convention. Hiring the merchandise, hiring lighting, set design, ensuring at least some basic cost reimbursement for the artists. Above all, people's transport, hiring buses. I think this amount must have exceeded one million zloty - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Fifteen Minutes".

"If there is such an expectation [from the protesting farmers], then a delegation will be received. I know there is an announcement regarding a petition or a statement, and I also know that we are ready to hold such a conversation" - said presidential minister Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

"If there is a specific statement, there will be specific expectations that the Presidential Chancellery should listen to the demands or participate in certain actions to any extent, then we will undertake such actions. So, I think that if this kind of meeting takes place today, a substantive discussion will be held at that meeting. The Presidential Chancellery has people who are excellently oriented when it comes to matters of Polish agriculture" - he added.

“I don’t see a rivalry between the government and local authorities. I understand that whoever wishes to celebrate, whether it's the anniversary of June 4th, June 2nd, or any other anniversaries, will do so. And today, in Polish society, in a free, democratic state, celebrations can take place at regional, national, and all other levels. Yesterday, an Oxford-style debate took place at the Presidential Palace with the participation of young people on the topic of the Round Table, where 17-year-olds discussed the consequences of the Round Table. We are aware of June 4th, just as we are aware of September 12th, the date when the government of Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki was appointed” – said presidential minister Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- We simply do not agree with treating these elections as a happening. It would be much easier for us to talk if a part of the right wing wasn't talking about wanting Polexit, about tearing down, about destroying the EU. It's a problem. Because personally, I believe that we don't need to destroy, but to build.  We are not thinking about it [joining the United Right]. We are not thinking about it. However, we are talking with several entities. Both Marek Jurek and I are working on it - stated Marek Jakubiak in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- I don't think so [that Stefan Niesiołowski should be removed from the parliamentary defense committee]. That is to say, if there are serious accusations from the Central Anticorruption Bureau, he should be charged. I am not a supporter of Mr. Niesiołowski for various reasons. Including the fact that he is an unacceptable arrogant person. Simply. A man who believes he has eaten all the brains, everyone else is a fool, only he is the smartest. That's exactly how I see it, when it comes to Mr. Niesiołowski. However, I am very far from making judgments, because I am not a judge. If the prosecution, the Central Anticorruption Bureau, has had some evidence regarding Niesiołowski's corruption for many years, he should be charged, the case should be brought to court, and he should be prosecuted. The fact that he was paid in a specific way there, that's a fact. Today we know that's a fact. However, whether it is against the law, that is where the polemic lies. However, if he was paid for his services for other people, then that is corruption. I think the Central Anticorruption Bureau should absolutely take steps here, if this is happening - stated Marek Jakubiak in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Firstly, what children learn in school cannot depend on election cycles and the various teams assembling on Wiejska [Street, referring to the Polish Parliament]. This has been an absolute mistake made to date. Therefore, we want to establish a new Commission for National Education, which, without the presence of politicians or only with their minimal presence, will decide what children learn in school thanks to experts. This must be a completely independent institution. It must be as firmly established as, for example, the Ombudsman is today – said Urszula Augustyn during a press conference at the PO [Civic Platform] headquarters in Warsaw.

- I think it will be a year of very high turnout. There will be a record, which won't be difficult in the European elections. The turnout will be higher than the politicians expect. „3 years ago, PiS loudly presented its national agricultural development program, a program to rebuild the pig farming sector. After 3 years in power, it is clearly visible that all these programs have been a complete failure or have not been implemented at all. Unrealistic promises end badly. The fight against ASF in the pig market is a total defeat, because after 2 years of keeping this disease close to the border, the disease has spread to 3 voivodeships, and after the recent culling of wild boars, we have another sixty-something sources of this disease” - said Marek Sawicki from PSL-UED at a press conference in the Sejm.

„I encourage the union leader not to go to the president, but to take their protest to Nowogrodzka, Aleje Ujazdowskie, and Świętokrzyska Street. Those are the recipients of the farmers' protest, and there's no point in misleading farmers by sending them to the Presidential Palace, because no agricultural decisions will be made there” - he added.

- Certainly, the expectation of the representative of the Farmers' Union was that the President would not patronize the discussions that will take place at the agricultural table organized by Krzysztof Ardanowski. However, during these talks, we managed to persuade the representative of the Farmers' Union to join and participate in these discussions, even as observers - stated Halina Szymańska after the talks with the protesting farmers.

When asked about possible talks with the President, the head of the Presidential Chancellery replied: - The topic was discussed, and we will present such a demand to the President. In turn, Barbara Fedyszak-Radziejowska stated that a meeting is not possible at the moment because the President is absent. - Since a meeting is planned involving a partnership dialogue with farmer representatives, it would not be tactful towards organizations representing other farmers if the President were to single out one of these organizations - she added.

- I'm rooting for all pro-democracy parties and I hope that both Platforma and Nowoczesna and SLD and Razem will be in the next parliament, because they are simply needed. Diversity and pluralism are needed, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them. Of course, I know what the polls for SLD and Razem look like. I appeal for us to talk, because perhaps this is a good time to also start closer cooperation - stated Robert Biedroń at a briefing.

I want to clearly emphasize that throwing all opposition parties or political circles, apart from PiS, into one basket does not sum up the electorate, but rather it dissipates it. Such a single anti-PiS bloc is a guarantee of PiS's victory. On the other hand, I am convinced that since we already have spring in the middle of winter, let this left-wing-social bloc create its own list, that there is a place for the social center and this place is for the PSL, Nowoczesna, SLD, UED, perhaps also for freelancers, independent politicians, and of course there is a place for this third list, apart from PiS. This is precisely the liberal list of Civic Platform, which they want to co-create with former prime ministers, also from the left-wing camp. Then, and only then, can such three blocs defeat PiS, and the latest poll shows that PiS is falling below 30%, meaning with a support level below 30%, PiS has no chance of obtaining a majority in the new parliament – stated Marek Sawicki in an interview with Radio Koszalin.



“I haven’t spoken with the President yet; I don’t know his opinion on this matter [the NBP salary transparency act]. I will speak with him in the near future. I do not interfere in the legislative process. This was not an initiative of the National Bank of Poland to create such an act. It won’t help us in any way, it will only hinder. A whole range of different employee problems could emerge, but we will, of course, manage them. Independently and autonomously, we will manage them” – said the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, at a press conference.

„We are in contact with the European Central Bank. We have their opinion on this matter. We have also stated our position. There is one element that is particularly uncomfortable for senior employees. The disclosure of all remuneration components: salary, bonuses, and awards is uncomfortable. Public asset declarations – also a very serious problem. We have 43 directors in the head office and branches. While public asset declarations of the president and the board do not raise any doubts, this is an anomaly for all directors. No European bank has such regulations, no transparent system for directors' salaries” – said the President of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński, at a press conference.

"Some unfortunate remarks by some minister, a deputy prime minister, who tries to comment on banking matters, are an accident at work. There has never been a serious attempt to interfere with our decisions. We do not interfere with the government's actions, we do not comment on their sessions. We also discuss financial, industrial, economic, and educational policy, we give opinions on laws, we do not publicize it. „The legislator, who carries out the will of the people, and in this case mainly the will of the media, but the media supposedly represent the people, then you are satisfied. What's left for me? We call for all institutions operating in the public sphere to present full salary transparency. So, maliciously among the bank employees, directors, and the management board, I threw out the idea that perhaps we should encourage 3,300 NBP employees to, under the access to public information procedure, flood institutions subordinate to Prime Minister Gowin with requests for information on how much public university employees, ministry directors, and various scientific and teaching institutions earn. Such an action was organized against us. Of course, I will not do it because, unlike others, I am responsible, I care about the good of the state, I do not seek conflicts, I try to reconcile these interests harmoniously. „We have a law, and everything will be on the table very soon. I sent a private email to Mr. Jackowski. I have known him for several decades. He is known for his inclination towards transparency. - Ardanowski won't solve anything alone if the Finance Minister isn't involved in these matters - Marek Sawicki stated in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa rozmowa" (Afternoon Conversation).

- I want to emphasize clearly that replacing Minister Ardanowski will change nothing. After two years of, so to speak, incompetence and inaction by Minister Jurgiel, Minister Ardanowski indeed has a difficult situation - Sawicki added.

- It's not decided yet; the National Council will decide, probably at the end of February. However, I am strongly urging the Chairman and also colleagues from the Party to build a social center where we truly don't have to run on lists with Civic Platform, but we certainly won't go with Biedroń's Wiosna either - Marek Sawicki said in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation".

- Nowoczesna, the one that promoted slogans similar to Robert Biedroń's, is already in the Civic Platform. On the other hand, Katarzyna Lubnauer speaks with a completely different voice now, so to speak - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation".

- If we agreed with the SLD that perhaps we would jointly create a list for the elections and for parliamentary elections, and Schetyna pulled three prime ministers from Czarzasty's formation, then necessarily Czarzasty was placed against the wall by Schetyna.
