President Kaczyński Has Been a Very Difficult Opponent for Years
- President Kaczyński has been a very difficult opponent for years, and I think the number of convictions that PiS has already accumulated today causes significant cracks in the perfect image that was created for years. Not just for the president, I would say, but for the entire PiS. Work and humility, and it turns out it's rewards and bonuses. Secondly, such substantive work and effectiveness, and all those who are going, or are about to have problems managing companies, like the stud farm in Janów, like the notorious Elewar or other companies operating at a loss, not a profit, and it was supposed to be such a good change and such good personnel - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

After the Elections, a Commission Must Be Appointed to Comprehensively Settle Accounts with the PiS Government
- None of these ideas will pass this term. I believe that after the elections, a comprehensive PiS commission must be appointed. This commission [would deal with] the PiS government, a comprehensive settlement of accounts with the PiS government, a PiS commission that would restore law and justice. A completely new commission, investigative commissions do not pass the test, they are theater. A completely new idea, with investigative powers, staffed by lawyers, not conducted solely in front of cameras and in the Sejm building, but possessing very strong competencies, a completely new idea. This is one of our programmatic demands. Formulating motions for the prosecutor's office - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

The very fact of Kaczyński's recording should be investigated by services
„The very fact of the recording should be investigated by services. The most politically significant person in the state is recorded. This is a tempting morsel for foreign services. It's a disturbing situation” – stated Deputy Marshal Stanisław Tyszka of Kukiz’15 in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
08:45
Tyszka:
We're Dealing with Partycracy. I Believe the Most Politically Important Person in Poland Shouldn't Be Involved in Property Development Either
"We're dealing with partycracy. We define politics as the rational pursuit of the common good. We, where was the common good in all of this? Should the sense of politics, the goal of politics, be building two skyscrapers for an environment associated with a certain party? I don't think so. I believe that the most politically important person in Poland shouldn't be involved in property development either" - said Deputy Marshal Stanisław Tyszka of Kukiz’15 in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
08:46
"I assume this is part of internal power struggles within PiS. However, it is very good that Mr. Bartłomiej M. has been detained. I recall that one of the weekly magazines wrote about these accusations back in May. The question is also why now, and not in May," said Deputy Marshal Stanisław Tyszka from Kukiz'15 in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

Today We Will Present the Justification and Submit the Motion to the Prosecutor's Office
- Yes, we discussed it yesterday [with PO MPs regarding the motion to the prosecutor's office]. Today we will present the justification for this motion and the specific articles we will [invoke]. Abuse of power, exerting influence, also [paid protection] will be there. Today, before 11:00 AM, we will present the justification and submit this motion to the prosecutor's office - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon."
08:57
Schetyna:
I cannot imagine Europe's top political leaders, like Merkel, Macron, or May, negotiating with entrepreneurs and agreeing on investments using Kaczyński's language.
"These are standards that are unacceptable, standards that were present in Yanukovych's Ukraine. Such conversations with entrepreneurs, such a connection between politics and political parties with business. This is unacceptable."- "We will be meticulously documenting where the law has been violated and which provisions of the Penal Code are met by Jarosław Kaczyński's actions," said the Civic Platform leader.

Schetyna:
In 30 Years, I Don't Recall a Story So Clearly Exposing a Pathological Power Structure as the One Described Yesterday in GW
– This [publication by 'Gazeta Wyborcza'] shows a pathological structure that is leading, with Kaczyński at its head. Because it's not just about managing assets, speaking on behalf of a company whose board he is not part of, but also arranging a loan over the phone. Surely, all these things are completely outrageous – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on 'Trójka's Political Salon'.
– In Poland's history, in the last 30 years, I don't recall such a story that would so clearly demonstrate a pathological power structure as the one described yesterday in 'Gazeta Wyborcza' – added the Civic Platform leader.
09:10
- For now, we will focus on the report to the prosecutor's office. This motion has no chance. Jaki is not the problem here; it's directly Jarosław Kaczyński we will be discussing - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Salon Polityczny Trójki," when asked if Civic Platform (PO) would support the Modern (Nowoczesna) party's motion to remove Patryk Jaki from the reprivatization verification commission.

"According to the Act on Political Parties, a party cannot engage in economic activity. However, from the revealed recordings, it is unequivocally clear that Jarosław Kaczyński, who holds no formal power of attorney, is conducting business operations. We are addressing the head of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), Wojciech Hermeliński, with a request for a financial audit of all financial reports and of PiS as a political party that is evidently engaged in business activities" - Adam Szłapka from Nowoczesna stated at a press conference in the Sejm.
"We have reviewed the KRS (National Court Register) entries of the companies and found that Jarosław Kaczyński does not possess power of attorney to represent these companies, nor does he sit on the board of any company. This is an incomprehensible and unacceptable situation for us: in whose name and why is Jarosław Kaczyński conducting such crucial discussions? We cannot leave this unchecked. We are appealing to the National Revenue Administration (KAS) to conduct an audit of the Srebrna company and its affiliated companies" - added Paulina Henning-Kloska.

I spoke with Merkel about Britain's EU exit. Together, with all EU states, we should try to prevent a hard Brexit

Stefan W. Never Granted Leave or Early Conditional Release, Despite Three Attempts
„The behavior of the convicted individual during his time in isolation – according to specialists from the Ministry of Justice who assessed his entire file – should be rated as moderate, moderate-positive. He was once recognized with an award for participating in occupational therapy. He was granted clemency twice. Three times he was disciplined for failing to maintain proper order and cleanliness in his cell. The inmate was compliant with regulations towards his superiors and functioned appropriately within the educational group. He built correct relationships with fellow inmates. No conflict situations involving him were noted” – Minister Zbigniew Ziobro stated during a government briefing.

Stefan W. Showed Bitterness Over Sentence. He Equated His Sense of Wrongdoing with the Then-Ruling Party, Civic Platform
„Stefan W. did not exhibit criminal behavior, rather bitterness over being wronged by the verdict. He declared aversion towards the justice system and equated his sense of injustice with the then-ruling party, i.e., Civic Platform” – stated Minister Zbigniew Ziobro in the Sejm.

"WOŚP has always been associated with something good. Stefan W. Did Not State Where He Would Live, Declaring He Would Leave Pomeranian Voivodeship and Become Homeless
"A note was made from the conversation [with Stefan W.'s mother] on November 30, 2018. A telegram was sent requesting verification of the information provided by the mother. This information came from the mother. There was an accusation in some publications that the police did not inform the prison about this note, that it came from the mother. It is obvious that the source must be protected and that no mother would be interested in revealing it. Solely for this reason, there was no information indicating the source. Stefan W. did not state where he would live and declared that he would leave Pomeranian Voivodeship and become homeless" - Minister Joachim Brudziński said in the Sejm.
16:17
Brudziński:
No Doubts About Police Professionalism, But Information Exchange Lacked
“I am the last one who would want to avoid political responsibility for overseeing the police, but I have no doubts that the actions taken by the police officers were professional and stemmed from current regulations. However, it also seems obvious that elements of good information exchange and good fact-collation were lacking. Therefore, I do not shy away from the necessity of informing that the ongoing proceedings aim to clarify and provide answers as to whether there was a lack of due diligence and a lack of proper case management” – said Minister Joachim Brudziński in the Sejm.

For 3 Years, You Prepared the State and its Services Not to React to Extremism and Hate. With Your Stance, You Created Conditions Where the State Couldn't React Appropriately.
"There has been no event as tragic since 1989. This tragedy has affected us all, and all circumstances of this matter require clarification by all services. It is difficult not to doubt whether the services, in their current state under the supervision of Ministers Ziobro and Brudziński, are ready to do so. On behalf of all Poles who believe that the fight against hate in Poland is possible, I will submit to Minister Ziobro a list of 30 discontinued hate crime investigations" - said Agnieszka Pomaska from Civic Platform (PO) in the Sejm.
"What did you do when 'political death sentences' were issued by the All-Polish Youth, including for President Adamowicz? You did nothing. What did you do when pictures of PO MEPs were hung on gallows? You did nothing. For 3 years, you prepared the state and its services not to react to extremism, to hate. With your stance, you created conditions in which the state could not react appropriately" - she added.

Kukiz'15 Demands Case Transfer to Another Prosecution Unit for Security and to Avoid Allegations of Bias
"A series of questions need to be answered: regarding motivations, the potential involvement of third parties who incited or assisted in the commission of this terrible crime. As Kukiz'15, we demand a decision from the Prosecutor General to transfer the ongoing proceedings to another prosecution unit in Poland, for the security of the investigation and to avoid accusations of bias from the Gdańsk prosecutors, as was the case with the Amber Gold scandal," said Tomasz Rzymowski of Kukiz'15 in the Sejm.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:
The State Failed Its Exam by Not Protecting Its Citizens
„The state has unfortunately failed its exam because it did not protect its citizens. Citizen security is the fundamental function of the state. One cannot say that the state passed the exam. I cannot comprehend how it is possible that there was a lack of information exchange, that there was no reflection, that a condemned individual with no prospect of improvement was not subject to supervision, monitoring, and was not apprehended before committing this act. One cannot escape the political context of this matter, because a politician was murdered, and the perpetrator, at the time of the crime, spoke about a political party, about Platforma [Obywatelska]. Previously, he had repeatedly spoken of his resentment towards this political formation, which, in his opinion, had condemned him” – said the leader of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in the Sejm.

Circumstances of the crime, the perpetrator's words, and his very attitude indicate we faced an act of political terror
„The murderer carried out the attack with a political message on his lips. The circumstances in which the crime occurred, the words spoken, and the perpetrator's very attitude indicate that we were dealing with an act of political terror. Our duty as politicians, the government, and the services is to ensure that such a crime never happens again” - Ewa Lieder from Nowoczesna stated in the Sejm - „Why were clear warning signs ignored? The report from the murderer's mother was ignored. Why can an event like the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity finale not count on the help of the army and police?”.

„Where were you, Mr. Brudziński, when the police weren't interested in the matter [of MP Pomaska being 'shaved bald']? Where were you, Minister Ziobro, when the prosecutor's office dismissed this case three times, even when the court ordered it to be reopened?” - Cezary Tomczyk from Civic Platform (PO) questioned in the Sejm. - „On the website of the Pomeranian Voivode, who is supervised by Brudziński, there is information that Ms. Anna Stawicka-Kołakowska, who has been convicted and threatened an MP from PO, is still on the consultative council for anti-communist opposition activists. This is how you fight hate”.

- In my assessment, this publication casts Jarosław Kaczyński in a light perhaps different from what Poles have been accustomed to until now, especially the readers of 'Gazeta Wyborcza' or viewers of stations like TVN, but it is definitely a positive light - stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions).

- It's good that you started with that, because the Prime Minister's words deeply concerned me. Therefore, if it is indeed as the Prime Minister says, then I hope he has filed some applications with the prosecutor's office and will also share that information with me. If there are indeed some irregularities, because the Prime Minister clearly stated that construction permits can supposedly only be obtained if someone is linked to Civic Platform. So I hope the Prime Minister will also help me clarify this, because if it's true, these matters should immediately be taken to the prosecutor's office - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" when asked if it is true that in Warsaw only those close to Civic Platform can build.

Kaczyński asked my client to issue a partial invoice, which was then issued, it seems, for over PLN 1.5 million
- President Kaczyński asked my client to issue a partial invoice, and it was issued, it seems, for over PLN 1.5 million. It was not paid. This is a similar situation as if someone ordered a project from an architect, then resigned from that house for some reasons beyond the architect's control. Then they say, 'Man, we only agreed orally, go to court, because I won't pay' - said Roman Giertych in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program 'Kropka nad i'.

PO MP Occupies Sejm's Rostrum:
We'll Be Here Until Morning Thanks to You, Madam MP.
Krystyna Skowrońska has been occupying the rostrum in the Sejm's plenary hall for approximately 20 minutes. The Civic Platform (PO) MP claims she wanted to submit a formal motion during the second reading of the bills concerning salaries at the National Bank of Poland (NBP), but deliberations on the matter had already concluded.
Ryszard Terlecki announced a 5-minute break and stated that due to it, the Sejm would be working until morning. Skowrońska continues to occupy the rostrum, demanding that her formal motion be submitted.
After the break, Marshal Terlecki announced the exclusion of the MP from the Sejm session, but she still continues to occupy the rostrum.
UPDATE: After the break, Ryszard Terlecki withdrew Krystyna Skowrońska's exclusion from the proceedings. The motion was submitted, and the MP left the rostrum. The Sejm is now considering the next item on the agenda. According to unofficial information, votes are expected to take place overnight, around 1:30 AM. Meanwhile, current affairs and questions are to be moved to tomorrow.

- Anyone observing this in Poland, even if they don't understand the legal intricacies, even if it turns out the law wasn't broken, though in my opinion it was, lawyers will judge... I believe the law was broken, but lawyers and courts will judge that. However, certainly, even if someone doesn't understand that, they understand the unprecedented arrogance, the stunt, and the brazenness of the ruling party, which contradicts all the ideals it has held high until now – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

It is now certain that MPs will not vote on the bill concerning compensation for public media during this session. The PiS proposal was originally scheduled for consideration in the morning, then the time was changed to 10:45 PM, and now it has been moved to 1:30 AM, crucially, after the night voting block.
In theory, the bill could have been passed with express speed, without referral to a committee – this has happened before in this term. However, in the current situation, it is impossible because the first reading will only take place after the voting block, which, according to the current schedule, is planned to start at midnight.
The next Sejm session – a continuation of the current one plus the next – is only scheduled for February 20-22. Moreover, the Senate will not convene again until a month later, on March 20-22. If PiS does not decide on an additional Senate session after March 22, or another additional Sejm session before February 15, the issue of public media financing will be prolonged until the end of March/early April.

Just a moment ago, another modification was made to the Sejm's session schedule. The first reading of the PiS bill concerning the introduction of compensation for public media will take place before the voting block, in a few to a dozen or so minutes. Theoretically, this revives the scenario of the bill being passed in an expedited procedure, without committee review. Otherwise, the work will drag on until the next session.
