At 10:00, a press conference will be held in the Sejm by Janusz Korwin-Mikke, Robert Winnicki, and Grzegorz Braun, during which the coalition leaders will introduce another representative of the agreement who will run in the European Parliament elections.
At 11:00, the investigative committee on VAT will once again question former Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski.

- I am as surprised as everyone who heard about this information this morning. Of course, I don't know anything more. I think the CBA or the prosecutor's office will issue a statement on this matter today. I can only repeat that today in Poland everyone is equal before the law and there is no preferential treatment. If someone breaks the rules, they must face the consequences. Of course, I would like all issues to be clarified as soon as possible - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
- In the second sentence of this dispatch, and this is also worth emphasizing, there is information that it is already known at this stage that the Minister of Defence had no knowledge of these matters. More than 1,500 people work in the Ministry of National Defence, so it is difficult to expect the minister to have knowledge about every employee, but of course, every official, every politician of PiS carefully follows information of this type that appeared this morning - added the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. As he emphasized, forming any theses today would be irresponsible and one must wait for an official statement.

- I believe that all politicians in Poland today want to clarify all the circumstances of these dramatic events [the murder of Paweł Adamowicz]. To draw conclusions as well, so that a similar tragedy cannot happen in the future. I think that speaking in this way today about this [about the proposal to establish a parliamentary investigative committee] is actually proof that we are moving from a period that was a time of certain reflection and calm, back to sharp political dispute - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
- On Friday, we met with the Prime Minister, with the leaders of all political formations functioning in the Sejm, in order to agree on proposals for legislative changes that would prevent such dramatic events in the future. I am unable to specify when a draft law will appear, however, for this week it was agreed that parliamentary clubs and circles will present experts who will start working on these proposals at the Ministry of Health. I think that a ready legislative draft will emerge within a few weeks - the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery continued.

Kopacz Recalled a Very Old Word, 'Naphthalene.' Many Young People Don't Even Know What Mothballs Are, Featured in Literature
"Ewa Kopacz recalled a very old word, 'naphthalene.' For many young people – they don't even know what it is, what mothballs are, which were written about in literature" – said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska from Civic Platform (PO), in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

We Knew Misiewicz Was Citing His Influence and Presenting Himself as Poland's Greatest Politician During His Time in Politics
"
That Mr. Misiewicz was citing his influence and presenting himself as Poland's greatest politician, we knew this during the months he was active in politics, in the Ministry of National Defence. We will see what happens next. Certainly, his behavior raised many doubts," said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska from Civic Platform, in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

A Declaration Was Made at Friday's Meeting That Information Would Be Presented in the Sejm
- Yes, of course, there was such a request from the PSL, and at that meeting with representatives of parliamentary circles and clubs, a declaration was made that such information would be presented in the Sejm. There were no doubts about it. We believe that both politicians and Poles should have full access to information about these dramatic events – stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet, when asked if information on the course of the investigation into the murder of Paweł Adamowicz would be presented at this Sejm session.

"No One Will Touch 500+, It Will Be Extended"
"500+ will not be touched, but we want 500+ to also include single mothers and fathers raising children, so that these children have the same chances as children in two-parent families" - said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska from Civic Platform (PO), in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

Indeed, Katarzyna Lubnauer and Nowoczesna are not with us in Civic Coalition at the moment
"Indeed, at the moment, Katarzyna Lubnauer and Nowoczesna are not [in Civic Coalition] with us. I hope that after this difficult period, we will continue to cooperate together on a new project, which will be the European Parliament elections" - said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska from Civic Platform, in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

"Among those detained is the former head of the Ministry of National Defence's political cabinet, Bartłomiej M., former board member of PGZ S.A., Radosław O., former parliamentarian Mariusz Antoni K., as well as three former employees of the Ministry of National Defence and the PGZ company. All detainees will be transported to the District Prosecutor's Office in Tarnobrzeg, where they will face charges. In connection with the arrests, CBA officers are conducting searches at over 30 locations. The investigation, based on the CBA's own materials, concerns mismanagement, leveraging influence, and document forgery during the conclusion of contracts by PGZ S.A. In the assessment of investigators, there was a detrimental disposal of assets worth significant value and the creation of direct danger of significant financial loss."

– I do not have such information regarding this matter [the arrest of, among others, Bartłomiej M.]. If this happened, it also shows that there are no double standards here, that we, and the Polish state services, show every day that regardless of who the charges concern, who has committed irregularities, who has broken the law, the proceedings must be the same – stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski in Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

Everyone is equal before the law, regardless of credentials or political sympathies. This is the difference in governance standards between PiS and PO. We are credible
Everyone is equal before the law, regardless of credentials or political sympathies. This is the difference in governance standards between PiS and PO. We are credible.
The above statement, posted on Twitter by Beata Mazurek, a Member of Parliament from the Law and Justice (PiS) party, highlights a core tenet of their political narrative: upholding the rule of law and ensuring equal treatment for all citizens. This principle is often contrasted with the Civic Platform (PO), the main opposition party, and used to frame PiS as a more trustworthy and principled governing force.
Mazurek's assertion aims to convey that PiS operates with a higher standard of governance, characterized by impartiality and adherence to legal principles. The phrase "regardless of credentials and political sympathies" directly addresses potential accusations of favoritism or political influence within the justice system or other public institutions. By emphasizing this, PiS seeks to build trust and portray itself as a party that prioritizes fairness over political connections.
The comparison with PO serves to define the perceived divergence in governing styles. PiS suggests that PO, if it were in power, would govern with different, presumably less equitable, standards. This rhetorical strategy is common in political discourse, aiming to differentiate one's own party by highlighting the perceived flaws or negative characteristics of opponents.
The concluding statement, "We are credible," is a direct appeal to the public's perception of trustworthiness. It seeks to solidify the image of PiS as a reliable and principled political entity, capable of governing effectively and justly. This message is particularly important in a political landscape where public trust in institutions can be fragile, and where parties constantly vie for the support of voters by presenting themselves as the most competent and ethical choice.

- It's no secret that competencies didn't keep pace with powers. It turned out the CBA did keep pace. That's all. I don't know, I can't interpret it, because I don't know, just like you and nobody else at this moment, the charges. Furthermore, the charges must be confirmed. I have always been critical of people who, in a lightning-fast manner, on many fronts, without higher education, made a lightning-fast career, because it always had some other dimension, whether it was corruption or not, I cannot determine, because I don't know the case - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.
09:34
Czarzasty:
It was good the meeting with the PM took place, but bad that parties gaining over 3% in elections weren't invited
- It was good that this meeting [of the opposition with Prime Minister Morawiecki] took place, because these matters are, in my opinion, apolitical, non-partisan. Simply put, these things need to be clarified and a dam built so they never happen in life. Therefore, I believe it was good that it happened. However, do you expect, in connection with this, that PiS will reflect and start doing things they did wrong, for example, holding meetings on education reform? Because in September, as we know, two age cohorts will be entering schools at the same time. It was good that the meeting happened, but it was bad that not all parties that achieved good results in the parliamentary elections, meaning over 3%, were invited to this meeting. There is the Razem Party, there is the SLD - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

"We have received information about the arrest of a former Ministry of National Defence spokesperson and former PiS MP. This is not an ordinary official of the Ministry of National Defence, but a close associate of Antoni Macierewicz, the one whom Macierewicz sent to enter the NATO counterintelligence center at night. We are dealing with a scandal that also involves Antoni Macierewicz. For two years of Macierewicz's tenure at the Ministry of National Defence, Bartłomiej M. was his closest associate. It was then that decisions were made regarding tenders, the modernization of the Polish army, Caracals, helicopters, decisions involving very significant sums of money" – Adam Szłapka from Nowoczesna said at a briefing in the Sejm.
"The fact that PiS decided on a show today indicates that we are dealing with a very serious scandal that PiS wants to cover up. We are submitting a motion to the Marshal of the Sejm to supplement the agenda of the nearest session and include Minister Kamiński's statement regarding corruption in the Ministry of National Defence. We believe that the nature and scale of the threat to state security are so significant that MPs should hear information on this matter. This session can be conducted in a non-public mode" – he added.

Czarzasty:
I'd Favor a Left-Wing List, but Biedroń Doesn't Want to Be On It, or a Broad Coalition with PSL, PO, N, and the Greens. We're Discussing This, the Outcome Will Be Known Soon.
- I know the path to resolving this matter. We will have a convention in February, and February is starting very soon. Therefore, we will answer this question within two weeks. Currently, we are holding talks with Partia Razem, with whom we are practically in agreement, as well as with the Greens, and with the entire left-wing spectrum. Here, we have clarity, we know what to expect. We are also talking with PSL, with PO, and also with Nowoczesna. Everything is possible - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.
When asked if a coalition without Platforma was possible, the head of SLD replied: - Everything is possible. No one is afraid, everyone is just watching, as in real politics, what others do. However, I would favor either a left-wing list, and here we have a problem because Mr. Biedroń simply does not want to be on this list; if he were, we would create a strong, powerful left-wing list, or a as broad a list as possible, meaning with PSL, Platforma, Nowoczesna, and the Greens. We are discussing this, and the outcome will be known soon.

Bartłomiej M. is Macierewicz's man, and he is politically responsible for various neglects
- I am not surprised by this. Bartłomiej M. is Antoni Macierewicz's man, and he is politically responsible for various neglects, including in the Polish Armaments Group - stated Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on the WP program "Tłit", commenting on the detention by the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) of, among others, the former spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence. As she added:
"I am not surprised by this, because a few months ago, at the request of Civic Platform (PO) MPs, there was a special session of the National Defence Committee. I was the proposing MP, and we were dealing with irregularities in the Polish Armaments Group. It then turned out that there was a group including Bartłomiej M., so I am not surprised. It is estimated that 11 million zlotys were siphoned off, and the nature of these offenses was varied. For example, inflated costs or fictitious contracts, in order to siphon off money. At the time, even members of PiS admitted that the matter was with the CBA and the prosecutor's office - they did not want to talk about the details."

Spychalski:
Bartłomiej M.'s Arrest a Major Problem for Macierewicz
- My acquaintance with him [Bartłomiej M.] is quite weak, so it's hard for me to say whether I am surprised [by his arrest] or not. I am certainly very positively inclined towards how the Polish state operates, and I have no doubts that it operates effectively - said the President's spokesperson, Błażej Spychalski, on Onet Rano. - This is certainly a major problem for Antoni Macierewicz. There is no doubt about that - added the guest of Tomasz Sekielski.
10:55
Rostowski:
The goal of the interrogation, and the entire commission, is purely political. A rather wide circle of advisors and friends of PiS MPs are earning quite well by being on this commission as advisors.
“I have already been interrogated. I think it went very well and I am positively disposed. We all know, and it has been clearly demonstrated, that the VAT gap estimates are far from perfect. I will repeat this. They in no way show that the gap was higher under the PO-PSL governments than under the PiS governments” - said former Finance Minister Jan Vincent Rostowski in an interview with journalists in the Sejm before being interrogated by the VAT committee.
“The goal of the interrogation, and the entire commission, is purely political. A rather wide circle of advisors and friends of PiS MPs are earning quite well by being on this commission as advisors” - he added.

Zalewska Should Burn in Hell for Many Reasons, Including Deceiving the Entire Profession
- I would like the teachers' protest to lead to them receiving their promised pay raises much sooner. And Minister Zalewska should burn in hell for many reasons. Including, because she is deceiving the entire profession – Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska said in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's program "Tłit".
To the statement that there should be no hate speech, the Civic Platform MP replied: - But this is not hate, I think it is an acceptable phrasing.
"How can I believe Prime Minister Morawiecki when he says he wants to have a very substantive, noble debate with the opposition, when Jacek Kurski with his propaganda stands behind him, when all the discontinued prosecution proceedings stand behind him, which was once independent, and now directly subordinate to Minister Ziobro, who danced with Mr. Rybak at the same convention?"

"The information is both sad and encouraging. Sad, because it appears that young people, without prejudging anyone's guilt, have embarked on a path that raises legal doubts. On the other hand, it is encouraging information because it means there are no sacred cows. Standards are the same for everyone. After Marek Chrzanowski, who found this out, further individuals associated with the broadly understood camp of the United Right will also have to be reminded of the standards in the name of which we came to power," said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on Radio Kraków.

No Plans to Bring NIK Head Kwiatkowski Before the State Tribunal. His Case is for the Court.
The Minister of Health, Łukasz Szumowski, stated on Tuesday that there are no plans to bring Marian Banaś, the head of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK), before the State Tribunal. The minister clarified that Banaś's case is a matter for the ordinary courts.
"The issue concerning the head of NIK is a matter for the court, and the court will decide on it," said Szumowski in an interview for Polsat News. He added that the government does not intend to "escalate" the matter by pursuing a trial before the State Tribunal.
Marian Banaś has been under scrutiny following reports of alleged irregularities in his financial declarations and his asset accumulation. The opposition has called for his resignation and for him to be held accountable before the State Tribunal.
The State Tribunal is a special court in Poland responsible for judging the culpability of the highest state officials for violations of the Constitution or laws.
Szumowski emphasized that the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary are paramount. He suggested that allowing the courts to handle the case demonstrates respect for these principles.
The Minister of Health's statement comes at a time of ongoing political debate regarding the accountability of public officials and the integrity of state institutions.

The Gdańsk electoral commissioner has already received nominations from 8 committees planning to field their candidates in the snap mayoral elections.
According to the Prime Minister's regulation, the deadline for committee nominations is midnight. They will have until February 6th to present their candidate names.
Meanwhile, the regional board of the Pomeranian Civic Platform – as reported by Radio Zet – has granted its support to the current Gdańsk commissioner, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.

- We are dealing with a situation where one should ask about his patron, meaning what was Macierewicz's oversight. Secondly, let's remember that they said there are no sacred cows, yet this is just a calf. This is not a person who can somehow influence... It is even beneficial for PiS to remove him from the initial scrutiny because he is the embodiment of everything that most strongly determines our opinions about PiS, namely that it is a party that secures many positions and jobs for its people despite a lack of competence - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer in a conversation with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

We Must Ban Talk of 'Slaughtering the Pack' and Justifying Murder in Politics
„I will defend Ewa Kopacz [and her comments about mothballs]. Harsh formulations will occur, and let's not be deceitful or hypocritical. There is one simple line, one thing we must ban ourselves from in politics: talking about 'slaughtering the pack,' that someone should be eliminated, justifying murder, justifying calls for violence.
