The family and loved ones bid farewell to the President of Gdańsk:

If it is true that memory is immortality, then Paweł will always be with us.

“I thank the entire team of the city hall and Paweł’s closest collaborators, led by Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. I thank the doctors. I thank you with all my heart. I know you did everything in your power to save Paweł, that you fought for his life for many hours. I thank everyone gathered here for this farewell and for your prayers,” said Paweł Adamowicz’s wife, Magdalena Adamowicz.

“Thousands of Gdańsk residents, thousands of Poles, are with us, beloved, wonderful people are with us. Thank you for your kind thoughts, for the blood donated, for the tears streaming down your cheeks, for the sea of candles and for the genuine silence and farewell. If it is true that memory is immortality, then Paweł will always be with us,” she added.

"Paweł, our family has been subjected to much injustice and harsh words. May the tragedy that befell Paweł, our family, and covered Gdańsk in mourning never happen again."
"Today, we all need to take stock. What did we do when evil, injustice, and harsh words were being spoken nearby? Paweł, our family, has been subjected to much injustice and harsh words. It hurt us, but Paweł bore it on his shoulders. May the tragedy that befell Paweł, our family, and covered Gdańsk in mourning never happen again" - said Paweł Adamowicz's wife, Magdalena Adamowicz.

Hall:

"Paweł Was Killed by Hate. This Hate Was Incited and Fueled by Morally Discrediting Him and Attributing Low Intentions. This is How the So-Called Public Media Portrayed Him."

- Paweł was killed by hate. I am sure that this hate will not prevail. Goodness, which Paweł served, will prevail. However, at this point, I must say that this hate, which killed Paweł, was incited and fueled by morally discrediting him and attributing low intentions and dishonesty to him - this is how the so-called public media portrayed him. I appeal to those who have influence on our public life, and thus primarily to the rulers, to break with these practices. Let us draw lessons from this cruel lesson. May this tragedy, which befell Paweł, his family, shrouded Gdańsk in mourning, but also the whole of Poland, never happen again. - stated Aleksander Hall during Paweł Adamowicz's funeral.

Dulkiewicz:

Paweł Adamowicz Had 'Gdańsk-ness' in His DNA

- Paweł Adamowicz had 'Gdańsk-ness' in his DNA, even though he was only a first-generation resident - stated the acting Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, during the funeral of Paweł Adamowicz. She added:

"Gdańsk's identity became his identity to such an extent that pride in this place and creative drawing from the richness of its traditions and history became one of the most important messages of his presidency, and he achieved unquestionable success in this regard."

Piotr Adamowicz: One Can Expect Many Things. But Not That on Tuesday I Would Receive the Death Certificate of My Brother

- Not so long ago, a group of Poles, self-proclaimed "all-Poles", issued a political death certificate for my brother and 10 other mayors of Polish cities. They declared there was no case. Such petty hate speech, or perhaps a happening, I won't delve into those details. But I want to tell you one thing: one can expect many things, but not that on Tuesday I would receive the death certificate, the death certificate of my brother, I did not expect that – stated the brother of the late President, Piotr Adamowicz, during the funeral of Paweł Adamowicz.

Fr. Wiśniewski: We Must End Hatred, Hateful Language, Contempt, and Baseless Accusations

- In recent days, many people have tried to articulate this message stemming from Paweł's death. I am convinced today that Paweł wants me to say the following words: we must end hatred, we must end hateful language, we must end contempt, we must end baseless accusations against others - stated Father Ludwik Wiśniewski during Paweł Adamowicz's funeral.

- We will no longer be indifferent to the pervasive poison of hatred on the streets, in the media, on the internet, in schools, in parliament, and also in the Church. A person who uses hate speech, a person building their career on lies, cannot hold high office in our country. We will adhere to this from now on - he continued.

Schetyna:

This is a call to those who caused this situation. They should hear it.
Especially relevant in the context of his death, of everything that happened afterwards. The challenges brought by this terrible story. I think it's very important and should remain among us. That's how it should be [Paweł Adamowicz's testament as an obligation]. The only question is whether those to whom it is directed can listen to it and understand it - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with TVN24. When asked if he endorsed this call and pledged to fulfill this testament, he replied: It is not a call. It is a call to those who caused this situation. They should hear it - he added.
