Warsaw councilors from the Law and Justice party (PiS) have called a press conference for 11:30 AM, and at noon, President Andrzej Duda will decorate Agnieszka Radwańska.

At 1:00 PM, the Razem Party is organizing a happening in front of the Presidential Palace. - "President Andrzej Duda is embarrassing Poland by questioning climate change. The scientific consensus, contrary to the president's claims, is unambiguous. The Razem Party will present President Duda with children's books that explain why climate change is a serious threat and how it can be combated," announced the organizers.

“I confirm, there will be nothing extraordinary. Even the culls this year will be lower than in previous years, because the plan foresees 185,000 wild boars for the entire year. No one even bothered to ask. 210,000 [wild boars to be killed] is a number plucked from the air. I don't know where it came from,” said Minister Henryk Kowalczyk on Radio Jedynka.

"There was no permit [for shooting pregnant sows]. Even during the PO-PSL government, a regulation was issued and it remains in effect, allowing for the shooting of sows, but absolutely not pregnant ones. The regulation only permits the shooting of sows. Minister Golińska issued a letter stating that when shooting sows, hunting should conclude before the farrowing period. Apparently, there is still a misunderstanding" - said Minister Henryk Kowalczyk on Jedynka radio.

- I think this is a time when certain things need to be settled, certain matters need to be agreed upon, and we are talking. There are daily talks within the opposition. I believe that voters will hold us accountable for the final outcome, just as they held us accountable after the local government elections. Back then, people also complained about what kind of Civic Coalition it was, why this way, why with that person, and look at the result - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

- Only yesterday evening did the Minister of Environment present data and somewhat quell this discussion, which I don't know in what aberrant vein the Minister of Agriculture began, talking about shooting pregnant sows or sows with young - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in a conversation with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

- This means [parliamentary work on the bills] that many days of festivals entitled "The President of the NBP and his associates, their salaries" await us. However, it is a scandal. The President of the NBP should say who earns how much, and that's it. He takes responsibility for it. - I wish Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz very well. We cooperated together in the government, we like each other, and I am impressed by how his career is developing. However, he is too sensible a person to succumb to the hype that he is prime minister today, president tomorrow, and perhaps even President of the European Council. He has a very bright future ahead of him, but today we are dealing with a situation where it's one stunt after another, and he's trying to cover all bases. - Lech Wałęsa is following the same path, speaking in his own peculiar way, saying both yes and no. In essence, he has been consistently favoring Russian policy in this matter. His statement that he feels closer to Moscow is a statement that well characterizes his life's path and point of view. It is indeed disturbing that such a pro-Russian, pro-Moscow lobby is forming and growing in Poland, and seemingly tolerated - said Antoni Macierewicz in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały Dnia" on Radio Jedynka.

- This is an act from the European Commission that is unfavorable towards Poland and, one could say, towards the European Union. This is because the European Commission is obligated to be so; it is an organ of the European Union. Poland is a loyal member of the European Union, loyal to a fault, I would say. Here, regarding various decisions, even reforming the judiciary against our interests - Antoni Macierewicz said in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on 'Sygnały Dnia' on Polskie Radio Jedynka.

- We have to wait, because I respect the agreements with the unions, until Wednesday when they will respond to this. So that concrete financial projects can be prepared for Tuesday the 22nd. We are in the process of discussions - Zalewska added.

„Approximately 130,000 people [registered for the so-called "small ZUS"]. This stems from the social insurance act. This relief is linked to a change in the insurance code. This is the stance of ZUS. We, as a ministry, encourage and will continue to encourage the extension of the [registration] deadline or the introduction of another window for applications. We are working on this and would like it to happen [this year]. We have received assurances from the President of ZUS that applications received even after the deadline will be considered individually” – said Deputy Minister Mariusz Ociepa in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in „Sedno sprawy” on Radio Plus.

Ask those who are writing this draft. In my opinion, the salaries of all people in positions of power should be public in general, when it comes to management positions, and the same in private banks. If we disclose salaries in banks, then in all of them. And why not [in private ones]? Especially since salaries in state-owned banks are a derivative of those in private banks – stated Marek Suski in a conversation with journalists.

The Minister of the Environment, Henryk Kowalczyk, has issued a recommendation to hunters and the Polish hunting community regarding the cessation of shooting pregnant sows and female wild boars accompanied by their young. This directive aims to protect the reproduction of wild boar populations, which have been significantly impacted by the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Poland.

The decision stems from the need to implement comprehensive measures to control and ultimately eradicate ASF. By allowing pregnant sows to give birth and young boars to mature, the Ministry of the Environment hopes to contribute to a more robust and resilient wild boar population, better equipped to withstand the challenges posed by the disease.

The Minister emphasized that this recommendation is a temporary measure, intended to be in effect during crucial periods for wild boar reproduction. The specific duration and conditions for lifting the ban will be determined based on the ongoing assessment of the ASF situation and its impact on wildlife.

This move is part of a broader strategy by the Polish government to combat ASF, which has already resulted in significant economic losses in the agricultural sector and posed a considerable threat to native wildlife. Other measures include intensified biosecurity protocols, culling operations in designated areas, and public awareness campaigns.

The recommendation has been communicated through official channels to the Polish Hunting Association and all relevant hunting districts. Hunters are urged to strictly adhere to this guidance to ensure the effectiveness of conservation efforts and the long-term health of the wild boar population in Poland.

January 24-25 – this date is appearing unofficially in the Sejm. We hear that convening a session is possible due to the budget act. According to our sources, a draft of another supplementary budget act is to be sent to the Sejm. Currently, one session is planned for January – next week. At that time, the draft budget act for 2019 is to be voted on.

"Today, no one has any doubts that teachers deserve their money. It is a scandal that a teacher starting their career in school earns the minimum wage, less than a supermarket cashier. Teachers deserve their money. Minister Zalewska is waffling and deceiving regarding funds for salary increases. We are deciphering these deceptions and evasions. In reality, there is 1 billion 900 million Polish zloty allocated for wage increases this year within the education subsidy. This is the amount currently designated for teacher salary increases. The Civic Platform has submitted an amendment to the 2019 state budget. We propose to increase the education subsidy by 4 billion Polish zloty. These 4 billion are funds for teacher salary increases, the double cohort [of students], and the adaptation of schools to the tragic situation that will prevail from September" - Krystyna Szumilas from the Civic Platform stated at a press conference in the Sejm.

„This type of salary for a department director, who is not in a leading department, has no justification whatsoever. Of course, there has always been a principle that salaries at the National Bank of Poland were high, because according to the law, they are set taking into account the level of remuneration in the banking sector as a whole. The NBP must, of course, have excellent specialists if it is to play with commercial banks and not be outplayed. However, a salary of over 60,000 for a department director in a department that is not substantive – not financial markets, not derivatives, not the communications department – that is not complicated matters, does not require financial knowledge – well, we believe this is an extravagance, of course. It is an extravagance that unfortunately indicates that Governor Glapiński treats public money with great nonchalance and essentially arbitrarily sets high salaries for individuals who I am not convinced are so exceptional that they need to be paid so much” – Dariusz Rosati said in an interview with Łukasz Kijek for gazeta.pl.

“President Kaczyński should at this moment publicly call for President Glapiński’s resignation. PiS has all the instruments to appoint whoever they want to the position of NBP President, and I fear that the successor may not be better than Glapiński, but what Glapiński has done requires a strong reaction, and I expect from President Kaczyński, just as he was capable of suddenly cutting everyone’s salaries, just as he did to blameless local government officials across Poland, that he now demonstrate resolve and true leadership,” said Dariusz Rosati in an interview with Łukasz Kijek for gazeta.pl.

- The draft law aims to provide compensation for the shortfall resulting from the non-payment of license fees by individuals exempt from this obligation by law in 2018 and 2019. The maximum amount of compensation that can be granted for this reason is to be determined based on the average annual number of individuals exempt from license fees in 2017, and the license fee rates applicable in 2018 and 2019 (the rate was set at the same level in both these years). The draft assigns this task to the National Broadcasting Council, which is obliged to prepare a resolution in this regard. Taking into account publicly available data, it is already possible at this stage to simulate the calculation of the maximum compensation amount - wrote the initiators in the draft law, which PiS submitted to the Sejm today.

The proposal has already been sent for a first reading and, as can be assumed, will be processed at next week's Sejm session. The compensation is to amount to PLN 1.26 billion. This is another initiative of this type from PiS – the previous compensation amounted to PLN 980 million.
