At 12:00 PM, the parliamentary committee investigating VAT fraud will hear testimony from Paweł Wojtunik, former head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Broniarz:

If we don't reach an agreement on Thursday, the main board will be obliged to pass a resolution on entering into a collective dispute, which must end in a strike.

- We are certainly much further from any agreement, because the minister [Zalewska] talks about things that we have known for many months, i.e., she forecasts a salary increase and announces this salary increase from PLN 120 to PLN 160, while the position of teachers, I'm not talking about the union, is radically different from this proposal by the Ministry of Education. If on Thursday, and the minister suddenly, ad hoc, called this Thursday meeting, we do not reach an agreement, then in my opinion the main board will be obliged to pass a resolution on entering into a collective dispute, which must end in a strike - stated Sławomir Broniarz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. He added that the organizer of the strike will decide whether it will be one day or several days, but no child who comes to school will be left without supervision.

08:24

Lubnauer:

Nowoczesna the Only Party in Parliament Advocating for Church-State Separation. This is Not a War on the Church. We Will Cooperate with Nowacka.

"We are the only party in parliament that clearly stands for the separation of Church and state. If we look at this calmly and objectively, it is not a war with the Church, nor with other partners. I believe we will cooperate with Barbara Nowacka. We are of the opinion that religious education classes should be financed by the Church, and furthermore, we believe a church tax should be introduced, similar to the German model" - stated the leader of Nowoczesna, Katarzyna Lubnauer, in an interview with Jan Wróbel on Radio TOK FM's morning show.

08:28

Broniarz:

We've been inviting the Prime Minister for over a year. We are highlighting that all trade unions have expressed a vote of no confidence in Zalewska

- We apologize to parents for the confusion, for the turmoil, but it seems to us that a much worse situation is one where a teacher leaves school within a year because they are unable to support their family - stated Sławomir Broniarz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- We have been inviting the Prime Minister for over a year. However, we are pointing out that all trade unions have expressed a kind of vote of no confidence in Minister Zalewska as a very untrustworthy person, and here is a whole mass of evidence of Minister Zalewska's lack of credibility - added the President of ZNP.

08:31

Lubnauer:

Civic Coalition in its current form has ceased to exist

"The Civic Coalition in its current form has ceased to exist. We are building a new coalition for the European elections. I came into politics to build certain things, because I like to build. I don't particularly like destroying and criticizing" - said the leader of Nowoczesna, Katarzyna Lubnauer, in an interview with Jan Wróbel on Radio TOK FM's Morning program.

"We need to build a coalition, and among other things, that's what we are doing now with PSL and SLD. There is a will for us to go in a broad coalition, including with Civic Platform, in order to win and offer Poles proposals regarding the functioning of Poland" - she added.

08:33

Broniarz:

It's Not About Changing the Person. It's About Changing the Quality of Politics, the Minister's Credibility
It's not about changing the head, the person. It's about changing the policy, the quality of policy, the credibility of this minister. If we read in Minister Zalewska's letter to teachers from December last year that you will receive further raises by January, then today is January 8th, and there's no talk of raises yet - stated Sławomir Broniarz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet, when asked if changing the head of the Ministry of National Education would improve anything. - The minister is a golden-tongued person, declaring thousands of things - he added.

08:37

Broniarz:

There's Always Room for Negotiation. The Union Has Never Shied Away from Talks
Yes, for every teacher [we want a salary increase of PLN 1,000 from the beginning of this year]. We also want to discuss the situation of education workers - stated Sławomir Broniarz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. - There is always room for negotiation. The union has never shied away from talks, as evidenced by the events of 2008-2011. That was the PO government, Prime Minister Tusk, and at that time we achieved an increase of almost 60%, spread over 3 years. Now we are being offered 15% over three years as well, which is four times less - added the ZNP president. As he emphasized, today we cannot say we have anything to concede, because we have no one to concede to and there is no one on the other side interested in negotiations.

08:40

Broniarz:

Since the Minister is calling an ad hoc meeting for Thursday, I understand that today the government will present some proposals to solve this problem.

- We want to talk with the Minister [Anna Zalewska]. We are ready for these talks. The Minister has received our proposals. We are awaiting a response. Today there is a government meeting, which suggests that since the Minister is convening this meeting for Thursday so promptly and ad hoc, I understand that today the government will present some proposals to solve this problem - stated Sławomir Broniarz in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:42

Zybertowicz:

I Don't Know If the President Should Get Involved in the NBP Earnings Issue

"I don't know if the president should get involved in this type of issue [earnings at the NBP]. I haven't spoken with the president in the past week, I don't know what his view is on this matter. [I] don't see a reason why information like the earnings of people in leadership positions shouldn't be public. I am against rampant transparency, because excessive transparency can kill democracy. In this case, I don't see a reason why [it shouldn't be disclosed]" - said Prof. Andrzej Zybertowicz in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

Brudziński on Escape Rooms: As of Yesterday 3 PM, Firefighters Inspected Over 430 Locations, 52 Closed. Over 1000 Violations Found in the Remainder.

- As of yesterday at 3 PM, firefighters inspected approximately 430 such venues. And here is the shocking information… The most dire conclusion is the number showing that out of these, I believe, 433 escape rooms inspected, 52 have already been definitively closed by the State Fire Service as of today. A definitive closure order was issued because they posed the same potential threat as the one we dealt with in Koszalin. Meanwhile, in the remaining ones, there were over a thousand violations in various areas – stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka Political Salon". According to the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, approximately 1100 escape rooms have been located, but some operate only seasonally.

09:18

Brudziński:

When Russian Press Called Tusk 'Our Man in Warsaw,' Those Attacking Kaczynski Now Cheered Him On

- I will continue the discussions we initiated during the informal G6 meeting in France in October. We also spoke with the Prime Minister, the minister, because it's worth remembering that Deputy Prime Minister Salvini is also the Minister of the Interior and Administration, so we have many topics and areas for joint discussions and cooperation. Both Italy and Poland are external EU countries. We have a slightly different specificity on the eastern border, which is not only Poland's external border but the entire EU's, compared to what Italy has today. However, Poland is home to Frontex headquarters, Frontex officers, and as part of this cooperation, Polish Border Guards also assist their colleagues in Italy, Greece, and Macedonia. We are united by social, cultural, and political interests. I want to discuss with Prime Minister Salvini a matter that is extremely important to us. On Italian territory, there are a vast number of Polish historical relics, one might say. There are Polish cemeteries, Monte Cassino, Ancona, Bologna – stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon."

Asked what Salvini would discuss with Jarosław Kaczyński, the Minister of the Interior and Administration replied: - The press services of PiS will inform you about that. Today, I am the Minister of the Interior and Administration, by a political decision of Prime Minister Kaczyński as well, who is the leader of an incredibly effective party. I can imagine that PiS, as a party that has advocated for Poland's presence in the EU from the very beginning, will make every effort, in cooperation with our EU partners, to reform it in a direction that brings it closer to the ideas of the founding fathers, De Gasperi, Schuman, Adenauer. Salvini is the Deputy Prime Minister of a large, important EU member state, and to accuse Jarosław Kaczyński of meeting with an important politician... One only needs to open the internet. Thankfully, not in this studio. I believe you remember very well that when Donald Tusk traveled to Moscow, when the Russian press referred to Tusk as 'our man in Warsaw,' those who are now attacking Jarosław Kaczyński were then ecstatic and applauding.

Nowacka:

21,000 People Have Already Supported the Polish Initiative Project

Barbara Nowacka, a prominent Polish politician and activist, announced on Twitter that the Polish Initiative project has garnered significant support. As of January 8th, 2019, 21,000 individuals have officially backed the initiative, demonstrating a strong public engagement with its goals.

The Polish Initiative, a project spearheaded by Nowacka, aims to address various socio-political issues within Poland. While the specific details of the project are not elaborated upon in the provided snippet, the substantial number of supporters suggests it resonates with a considerable segment of the Polish population.

Nowacka, who has been a vocal advocate for liberal and progressive causes in Poland, often utilizes social media to engage with her constituents and disseminate information about her political activities. Her announcement on Twitter highlights the growing momentum behind the Polish Initiative and its potential impact on the country's political landscape.

PMM:

Building Economic Strength and, Above All, Social Strength Through Better Prospects for Future Retirees

- I am glad that today, after two years of very broad social consultations, we have reached this moment where we can actually launch this program. A program that is of civilizational importance for Poland. It is also key to building long-term savings. Long-term savings are absolutely fundamental for long-term economic development. This is understood not only by economists; we all know it, that national savings are needed to avoid falling into excessive dependence on foreign countries, which happened to us for 25 years, but at the same time to be able to finance long-term investments - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a conference on Employee Capital Plans.

- But above all, this PPK program is a pro-social program, for over 11 million employees, a program without any asterisks, traps, or dangers, because it is a program in which three parties participate, including the state, employers, and employees on a voluntary basis - PMM added.

- This is also a program that is a program of intergenerational solidarity. A program that should build this intergenerational solidarity, because - as we have seen - it is a program for 20, 30, 40 years, and this makes me very happy, because at the same time we are building economic strength and, above all, also social strength through better prospects for future retirees - the head of the Polish government continued.

Spychalski on Foreign Currency Loan Projects: We Are Somewhat Impatient, Because This Work Should Progress Faster

The President has articulated this very clearly recently, that this work [on franc loan bills] should decidedly accelerate. Yesterday's meeting was held in order to discuss the work schedule. The subcommittee chairman, MP Cymański, promised that the subcommittee will convene in January” - said the President's spokesman, Minister Błażej Spychalski, in a conversation with Piotr Witwicki in „Polityczne Graffiti” on Polsat News.

We are somewhat impatient, because this work should progress faster. We understand that this project is very important, quite complicated, but our influence on parliamentary work is limited. We are mobilizing and will continue to mobilize. We will be asking Parliament to address the projects more quickly” - he added.

09:54

PMM:

Comparing OFE to PPK is like comparing Paweł Borys to Borys Szyc

- Some economists also compare this program to OFE. So I have an appeal, please don't do that, because they are very different programs. Comparing OFE to PPK is a bit like comparing Paweł Borys to Borys Szyc. Paweł is much taller. I don't know if much, at least that's how it seems to me. And by the way, I had the opportunity to meet Borys Szyc on the set of the film "Battle of Warsaw 1920" some time ago. In any case, returning to the program, they are really two completely different programs. For me, PPK means Po Prostu Korzyść (Simply Benefit) - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a conference on Employee Capital Plans.

10:07

Zandberg:

Razem Will Build the Left. We Are Not Interested in Becoming Vassals of the Liberal Camp.

- We are open to talks with everyone to the left of Civic Platform, however, I will not answer your question today about what the final shape of this list will be. For a simple reason, many circles today are hesitant and agonizing, wondering what to do. I want to say very clearly: Razem will build the left. We are not interested in becoming vassals of the liberal camp. I hope that the group we manage to gather will be as broad as possible. Today we are talking with trade unions, with many former allies of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) - stated Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- We are talking with SLD, with Robert Biedroń. With Biedroń, of course, there is a big question mark, because it is still unknown what his party will be. Robert has assumed that he will gather people around him and go where those people want to go. Today, I don't know if it will be the left or liberalism. If it is the left, then we should build a left-wing bloc together. If it is another liberal party, then Razem is obviously not interested in forming a liberal party - he added.

Spychalski on Andruszkiewicz's Appointment: The Prime Minister Bears Full Responsibility

It is difficult to comment on this [the matter of Deputy Minister Andruszkiewicz]. The Prime Minister bears full responsibility for appointing deputy ministers in the government, and it was the Prime Minister who decided that such a person, with such competencies, would be needed, is essential in this ministry. It is difficult to comment on the independent decision of the Prime Minister. If it were a constitutional minister, where the president’s action is significant, then we could indeed speculate whether such a person or another” - said the President’s spokesperson, Minister Błażej Spychalski, in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on “Polityczne Graffiti” on Polsat News.

10:14

Zandberg:

We are unprepared regarding worker security in a situation of rising unemployment

- We are unprepared regarding worker security in a situation where unemployment were to rise again. This is something the Razem party has been talking about for a long time. What we need is to look at Scandinavian countries and the solutions that function there, such as unemployment insurance. We need to talk today about what to do so that people who have loans and high living costs do not find themselves in a large-scale situation where the state says: you have to support yourselves for a few months on a 500 PLN benefit - stated Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Asked whether unemployment benefits should be proportional to how much these individuals earned, he replied: - Of course, up to a reasonable level. I think that the reasonable level worth discussing is the national average.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Must Present a Vision for a Better, New Poland, Not a Return to 2015, Which Was Rejected. I'm Not Interested in Choosing an Opposition Leader

Every day, we must do what we do best, meet with our compatriots, present a vision for a better, new Poland, not a return to what was in 2015, because that was rejected. This is much more important today than pointing to personnel decisions, which are uncertain, or may not even happen at all. If we don't win the elections, we will remain in opposition, and I'm interested in changing reality, not choosing an opposition leader” – said the leader of the Polish People's Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview with Łukasz Mężyk on the program “Tłit WP”.

10:48

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Schetyna Has His Strengths, He Saved the Party at a Difficult Time. Lubnauer Has Her Strengths. Many Party Leaders Have Their Strengths. I Will Not Be Pitched Against Them.

Grzegorz Schetyna has his strengths of various kinds. He saved the party at a difficult time. That cannot be overlooked. Katarzyna Lubnauer has her strengths, especially in the area of education. She is very good. She managed at a difficult time. There are many party leaders who have their strengths. I will not be pitted against them today” - said the leader of the Polish People's Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview with Łukasz Mężyk on the program “Tłit WP”.

10:56

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Even If There's a Joint List, There Won't Be a Joint Parliamentary Club. It Will Be the PSL-UED Club. This Formula Works and Can Be Repeated

Nobody seems eager to join Civic Platform. Modern was closer to Civic Platform, because it’s one family, one environment. I don’t think anyone from PSL members would switch to PO, because we are different political formations and we will certainly remain a different parliamentary club, if everything goes well in the next parliament” - said the leader of the Polish People's Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview with Łukasz Mężyk on the program “Tłit WP”.

[Even if there's a joint list], there won't be a joint parliamentary club. It will be the PSL-UED club. This formula works and can be repeated in the next Sejm” - he added.

President Duda Signs the National Oncology Strategy Bill: "A Crucial Moment in the History of Polish Healthcare and the Fight Against Cancer"

"This is a crucial moment in the history of Polish healthcare, but most importantly, in what we can briefly call the Polish fight against cancer. Healthcare, health security, and everyday health are perceived as among the most important issues. When society is polled, over 60% state that health is one of the most significant factors," stated President Andrzej Duda before signing the bill on the National Oncology Strategy.

"In 2015, we recorded 160,000 new cases of malignant tumors, resulting in 100,000 deaths. This is an enormous number, and it is the second leading cause of mortality from disease. There is no doubt that our duty as public authorities and individuals responsible for healthcare is to create the best possible conditions to prevent cancer, and if it does occur, to diagnose and treat it as effectively as possible," he added.

President Duda on NBP Salaries: 'As President, I Can Only Smile and Say I'm Jealous.' Presidential Salary is Public Knowledge
“I have no doubts that [Adam Glapiński] is a person absolutely professionally prepared to serve as the President of the National Bank of Poland. Please cast your minds back to the moment when the President received his nomination, when the Sejm approved him as a candidate for this position. At that time, no one had any doubts that he was a person absolutely adequate for this role and capable of handling the duties and burdens that come with leading the NBP. There is no real discussion about him being the right person in the right place. However, a discussion about salaries at the NBP has indeed emerged recently. I can only smile and say that if the information we can find in the media about the level of these salaries around the board is true, then as president, I am jealous. I don’t hide it, I am jealous. Everyone knows what the president's salary is” - President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference.

11:41

President Duda on NBP Salaries: I See No Obstacles to Them Being Public. The Pay Scale Wasn't Glapiński's Decision, It's Something He Inherited.

"I can only say what President Belka said, that a lot is paid in the banking sector. Therefore, salaries at the NBP are high. Are they adequate? Let experts who know the banking sector comment on that. I know one thing. The NBP is a public institution, and when the question arises whether the level of remuneration at the NBP should be public or not, I see no obstacles to it being public. Since it is public in other areas of public life, why shouldn't it be public here? The pay scale at the NBP is not President Glapiński's decision. These are decisions that were made at the time when Prof. Belka held his term as President of the NBP. This is something that President Glapiński found when he came to the NBP. It has remained at the same level all this time" - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference.

Wojtunik's Request to Exclude Horała Rejected. Parliamentary Committee on VAT Interrogates Former CBA Chief

The interrogation of Paweł Wojtunik before the parliamentary committee investigating VAT fraud began with a motion to exclude its chairman, Marcin Horała. The former head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau's representative argued that interviews given by Horała to the media raised suspicions about his objectivity during the interrogation. Ultimately, the motion did not gain the support of the majority of the committee.

"I do not intend to plead forgetfulness and have never done so. Throughout my entire professional career, I have never pleaded forgetfulness. I have been a witness in many proceedings. I have never encountered such an accusation. Recalling the interrogation and argument from the Amber Gold commission is highly inappropriate," Wojtunik stated in his opening remarks.

Civic Platform Submits Bill on Transparency of Salaries at the National Bank of Poland

The Civic Platform (PO) has submitted a draft bill aimed at increasing transparency regarding salaries at the National Bank of Poland (NBP). This initiative, announced by MP Sławomir Neumann, seeks to make public the earnings of individuals holding positions within the central bank.

The proposed legislation is expected to address concerns about remuneration practices within the NBP, a key institution responsible for monetary policy and financial stability in Poland. The specifics of the bill, including the exact scope of information to be disclosed and the mechanisms for its implementation, are yet to be fully detailed.

This move by the Civic Platform is part of a broader political discourse concerning accountability and transparency in public institutions. The public scrutiny of remuneration, particularly in influential bodies like the NBP, is often a significant point of debate in Polish politics.

Jackowski on his NBP Questions: I Informed a Few People
I asked a few people and informed a few people, and we simply discussed the matter. It's a normal practice when someone, for example, makes a statement, they want to share it and hear the opinions of others - stated Jan Maria Jackowski in an interview with journalists in the Sejm, referring to the publication on his website of two questions he addressed to NBP President Adam Glapiński regarding the remuneration of his associates. I cannot disclose [who I consulted with] because those individuals would have to give their consent for me to reveal their names - he added.

Rafalska Submits Request to Prime Minister to Dismiss Bojanowska
The Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy has submitted a request to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to dismiss Elżbieta Bojanowska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Family, from her post – the ministry announced in a statement.
"As part of her official duties, Deputy Minister Elżbieta Bojanowska oversaw changes to the act on combating domestic violence and certain other acts. She was also responsible for the area of senior policy and social assistance. The draft act contained controversial provisions to which Minister Elżbieta Rafalska never agreed. Every form of violence should always be severely condemned, and its victim should be protected as best as possible."

Ziobro on Corporate Liability Act: This Law Isn't Meant to Be Used. First and Foremost, it's for Prevention
We are introducing a modern tool for effectively combating crimes committed in the interest of large companies and legal entities. The law is very necessary because previous legal solutions have failed - said Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference. This law isn't meant to be used. First and foremost, this law is for playing a preventive role, so that it doesn't have to be used, so that companies that know about the high standards and requirements created by the regulations adhere to the demands of those standards - Ziobro added.

Kamiński:

Three Social Emotions Are a Real Problem for PiS in These Elections

- They are constantly sending contradictory signals, it's an astonishing counter-dance where, on one hand, they are very afraid of these extremely right-wing circles and are doing everything to rein them in, while on the other hand, they want to pretend to centrist voters that they are a pro-European party. They are not, because facts speak louder than words. Words, I can tell you today that I am a Spanish bullfighter, but people will look and see Kamiński doesn't look like a Spanish bullfighter, or that I am an astronaut, and no one will believe it. They can say anything about themselves, from calling the European Union flag (...) calling that European and Marian flag a rag, to saying that Poland is in the center of Europe, in the heart of Europe. I think, Mr. Editor, that there are realistically three social emotions that are a real problem for PiS in these elections (...) The first is the issue of clericalization; this is a social emotion where PiS does not have an advantage among Poles. The second issue is Europe; here too, PiS with its sentiment does not have an advantage, and there is a third (...) the issue of ecology, clean air. This topic is weak within PiS and is becoming increasingly important for Poles - stated Michał Kamiński in an interview with Gazeta.pl.

17:28

President Duda: Everyone Must Uphold the Law, Including Courts and Judges

- At the moment, I am trying to ensure that the promise of introducing a higher tax-free allowance is fully implemented. It is being implemented, but gradually. And for the constitution to truly be implemented in Poland, which speaks of the equality of all citizens, primarily their equality before the law, that everyone must uphold the law. Not just those who stand before a court and are tried for violating it somewhere, but that courts and judges should also uphold it - said President Andrzej Duda during a meeting with residents of Człuchów.

Czarzasty:

If a United Left Bloc Isn't Formed, It's Solely Because Biedroń Won't Want It

If a united left bloc is not formed, it will be solely because Mr. Robert Biedroń will not want it. Because if Mr. Robert Biedroń were to define his party as left-wing and were to call: okay, let's go together. We would simply go” - said the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on wyborcza.pl.

19:03

Czarzasty on Coalition Talks: All Decisions to Be Made by End of January

"The Democratic Left Alliance and its coalition partners, namely the Labour Union, PPS, Feminist Initiative - have coalition potential. We will choose the most sensible option. One where we can talk about our program without any inhibitions. All decisions will be made by the end of January" - said the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz on wyborcza.pl.

"Most decisions will be made this week. We are in talks with the Polish People's Party, with Adrian Zandberg, with the Greens, with Ms. Katarzyna Lubnauer, with the European Union of Democrats, and with Civic Platform" - he added.

19:41

Dworczyk on reports about him taking over as head of the Ministry of National Defence: We have worked with Błaszczak for too long to fall for this kind of provocation
- As elections approach, there's always an outpouring of fake news and various pieces of information, which sometimes aim to sow discord within the political environment, in this case, the Law and Justice environment - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview on the program "Wydarzenie i Opinie" on Polsat News. - So, someone wants to pit you against Mariusz Błaszczak? - the journalist pressed. - It's hard to resist that impression, but we are too experienced politicians, we have worked with Minister Błaszczak for too long, to succumb to this kind of provocation - Dworczyk replied.

19:46

Dworczyk on NBP Salaries: Public Service Should Be a Synonym for Humility

- I can stand by Jarosław Kaczyński's words that if someone is thinking about earning a lot of money, they should seek their fortune in business. Public service, on the other hand, should be rather a synonym for humility and service, meaning work. I think that says it all - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview on the program "Wydarzenie i Opinie" on Polsat News.

19:49

Dworczyk:

I am convinced the budget will be passed next week

- There are no premises that would necessitate shortening the term of office. The budget prepared for 2019 is a very responsible and very good budget. I am convinced that it will be passed next week - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview on the program "Wydarzenie i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

Bielan:

For the Good of the Cause and the Institution, the President and Officials at the National Bank of Poland Should Positively Respond to the President's Appeal and Disclose These Earnings
- I don't know how much these individuals earn [at the NBP]. These are media publications, by media outlets that don't particularly love President Glapiński; for several weeks, they've targeted him, grilling him. I think that for the good of the cause, for the good of the institution, the President and the officials at the NBP should positively respond to President Duda's appeal and disclose these earnings. Let us also remind our viewers that the pay scale at the NBP, according to the statement of the NBP's legal representative, was established during the time of Adam Glapiński's predecessor, Marek Belka. I don't recall the media analyzing this pay scale particularly closely back then – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach". - If this information [about earnings] were indeed confirmed, then yes, that amount is, in my opinion, too high. However, we can of course relate this to different sectors. If we relate it to the world of politics or state administration and compare it, for instance, with the President's salary, which is much lower... It seems to me that, for the sake of the cause and the institution, this information should be disclosed – added the Deputy Marshal of the Senate.

20:02

Bielan:

I believe after the President's appeal today, the NBP will consider releasing this information

- Let's wait for confirmation or denial of this information. I think that after the president's [Duda's] appeal today, the NBP will consider releasing this information [about earnings], and only then should we draw any conclusions - stated Adam Bielan in a conversation with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

This Weekend We Will Present an Addendum to the Law Passed by Parliament Last Year

- This weekend, we will present an addendum to the law [so-called energy law], which was passed by parliament at the end of last year. No, not [not an amendment]. An addendum, we will not be appealing this law, which was enacted by parliament and signed by the president, but rather we will launch an offensive that will allow Poland to avoid the negative costs of EU climate policy in the longer term - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Bielan on Salvini's Visit: I am glad such an important politician from such an important country is seeking a meeting with Kaczynski

- Italy is one of Poland's most important economic partners. It is one of the most important EU countries, it is the third largest economy in the EU, after the United Kingdom's departure [from the EU]. Without Italy, no key decision in the EU can be made. If Matteo Salvini is coming to Poland at the invitation of his friend, the equivalent of Minister Joachim Brudziński - praise be to the minister for managing to establish such excellent interpersonal relationships in such a short time, because it is also a minister's task to navigate well within European diplomacy - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on "Fakty po faktach" TVN24.

- If Salvini, the most popular politician in Italy, who enjoys 60% support from Italians today, is coming to Poland, these are voters who follow him daily and clearly do not consider him an extremist politician. If they have given him such power, he is now Deputy Prime Minister, and after the next parliamentary elections, he may become Prime Minister - the Deputy Marshal of the Senate continued.

- The League has a chance to be the largest party delegation in the EP, alongside Germany's CDU. Do you think that this politician, who is coming to Poland, is asking for a meeting with Jarosław Kaczynski, and Kaczynski should refuse? - Bielan continued. - Italy is a founding country of the European Economic Community, a country without which no important decisions in the EU are made. If in the so-called G5 group, the five largest countries after the UK's departure, which includes Poland and Italy, these countries adopt a common strategy, then it is a strategy that no other country can bypass. So this kind of alliance will truly be useful to us in various decisions that await the EU in the near future - he added.

- I am glad that such an important politician from such an important country as Italy is seeking a meeting with Jarosław Kaczynski. I believe Kaczynski is showing great political instinct by meeting with him and will urge him to support Poland's position on various important issues - Bielan concluded.

Siemoniak:

With each passing day, President Glapiński loses his moral mandate. A few more days of this spectacle and his resignation will be inevitable

This spectacle has been going on for many, many days. The earnings are outrageous, because they represent a doctor's or teacher's annual or two-year salary. Nothing is happening. Neither are these individuals being dismissed, nor is there any information. The NBP's plenipotentiary is making a fool of herself by saying she cannot reveal how much these women earn because global intelligence services would become interested. A few more days of this spectacle and President Glapiński's resignation, for which he bears responsibility, will be inevitable” - said the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform (PO), Tomasz Siemoniak, in an interview with Monika Olejnik on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

With each passing day, President Glapiński loses his moral mandate to hold his position. This is a state institution, an important one. It is not a private farm. Such things must not be done” - he added.

Siemoniak on Salvini-Kaczyński Meeting: Crossing a Line. Aligning with Salvini Means Striving for Polexit

Tomorrow will be a very important moment concerning PiS and President Kaczyński crossing a certain line. As long as these were contacts with Prime Minister Orbán, it could be framed as 'Central Europe, Pole-Hungarian two brothers, common problems, common interests'. [Salvini] is an Italian who aims to dismantle the European Union and travels to various countries seeking partners for such an endeavor; he is not secretive about his fascination with Putin” - said the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform (PO), Tomasz Siemoniak, in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (The Dot over the i).

Aligning with Salvini means striving for Polexit, for taking Poland out of the European Union” - he added.

The exorbitant sums described in the media are impressive even at the Presidential Palace. The NBP is a public institution, not a private treasury. Cards on the table - calls not only the opposition. -- THE PRESIDENT'S STATEMENT SOUNDED LIKE A CALL TO ACTION - KRZYSZTOF SKÓRZYŃSKI: When the president uttered these words, he was still joking about the "Gazeta Wyborcza" information regarding the exorbitant earnings of NBP director Martyna Wojciechowska. But his next statement sounded like a call to action. And it's a call from a politician who nominated Adam Glapiński for the most important position in the bank. -- Even the opposition, including the one usually less critical of PiS, has filed a report with the prosecutor's office and the CBA due to the NBP president's silence on this matter for several days - Skórzyński. -- PIOTR APEL: No more sacred cows, no more people who waste our money without blinking an eye. -- IT GRATES ON VOTERS' EYES - Skórzyński: Some Law and Justice politicians are now officially admitting that the information about the four-figure sums grates on the eyes of PiS voters. -- SKÓRZYŃSKI ON THE HISTORY OF KACZYŃSKI AND GLAPIŃSKI'S ACQUAINTANCE: In this case, the history of one acquaintance is a story of separations and returns. During the infamous "March on Belweder," on the second anniversary of Jan Olszewski's government's end, the Kaczyński-Glapiński duo was a pillar of the camp opposing Lech Wałęsa. In the 1990s, Glapiński, as a minister in two governments, was considered a politician who tried to build the financial base for Porozumienie Centrum. Politicians who remember the complicated times of the systemic transition still debate those methods today. The history of this relationship is a topic for a voluminous book about the history of Porozumienie Centrum, political volte-face, separation from the Kaczyński brothers, and a return to favor. Publications about the NBP's behind-the-scenes dealings and the calls from PiS politicians and the president are the latest chapter in this history. Former Prime Minister Marek Belka appealed today for the disclosure of NBP earnings because: Every day of turmoil surrounding the NBP only harms the NBP. -- MORE WITNESSES AND VICTIMS OF FR. JANKOWSKI: More witnesses, more victims, more stories hidden for years. - The monument to Father Jankowski is a monument to a sexual predator - says the youngest participant of the strike in the shipyard. Today, he is an adult man who would like to erase the priest's hands from memory forever, because it was not a friendly touch. -- INNOGY HAS A MILLION CLIENTS, SO THE QUESTION IS WORTH A MILLION: Since the prime minister promised, the government guaranteed, and the Sejm blocked energy prices with a special law - the question arises: why are consumers receiving higher bills? The company Innogy is introducing new rates. It has a million clients, so the question worth a million is - should they pay, or will they be politically justified? -- THIS IS A BROKEN PROMISE FOR INNOGY CLIENTS - Arleta Zalewska. -- THE LAW LACKS A REGULATION - Zalewska. -- THIS IS DUE TO NEGLIGENCE - Andrzej Halicki. -- THE GOVERNMENT'S RACE AGAINST TIME COULD LOOK DIFFERENT TODAY IF THE PRIME MINISTER HAD NOT CALLED THE INCREASES MEDIA HYSTERIA IN OCTOBER AND THE FINAL VERSION OF THE SOLUTIONS WAS ADOPTED AT THE LAST MINUTE - Zalewska. -- WOJTUNIK BEFORE THE VAT COMMITTEE: Former head of CBA before the VAT investigative committee. Paweł Wojtunik testified that he did not have specific guidelines for fighting VAT fraud, but VAT crime appeared in other cases that the CBA was working on. -- WILD BOAR SLAUGHTER: Wild boars condemned to death. The minister of environment has issued a death sentence for almost all of them. Naturalists, professors, members of the Polish Academy of Sciences - speak with one voice - this is madness. This is a slaughter. ***** ADVERTISEMENT ***** ***** ADVERTISEMENT ***** ***** WIADOMOŚCI TVP -- EVEN A BILLION ZLOTYS REMAINED IN THE BUDGET THANKS TO EFFECTIVE CBA ACTION.
