Wednesday's Political Agenda: Sejm Discusses Podlasie Bill and Pension Indexation, Senate on Children's Rights Ombudsman

The second December session of the Sejm will commence at 10:30 with the first reading of a bill, submitted by PiS, amending the act on special rules for removing legal consequences of restitution decisions concerning Warsaw real estate issued in violation of the law.

At 12:30, the first reading will take place of a project – also submitted by PiS – introducing the requirement to obtain consent from the regional assembly (sejmik) to declare a recess in sessions. This is the so-called anti-obstruction bill, related to the situation in the Podlasie regional assembly. The project will most likely be voted on this week – a committee meeting has already been scheduled for tomorrow morning.

At 13:00, a closed meeting of the Amber Gold investigative committee will be held. At 14:00, the VAT investigative committee will question Katarzyna Zajdel-Kurowska, former Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance. At 14:30, a short, 15-minute voting block may take place. This likely concerns motions to reject one of the bills in the first reading. Today's proceedings will conclude at 19:30.

Also today, at 11:00, the Senate session will begin. On the agenda – as the second item – is, among other things, expressing consent for the appointment of the Children's Rights Ombudsman. At 12:00, at the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will present the "Distinguished for Independence" and "Medals of the Centenary of Regained Independence" awards.

At 15:30, the parliamentary committee for social policy and family will hold the first reading of the government's bill on the indexation of pensions and annuities. The second reading is scheduled for tomorrow. The vote will therefore take place in Friday's voting block. From March 2019, pensions and annuities will be subject to a cash-and-percentage indexation, and the lowest guaranteed pension and annuity benefits will be increased. As a result, all pensions and annuities will be increased by the indexation rate resulting from the act – not less than PLN 70 gross.

Parchimowicz:

No Basis for Decisive Prosecutorial Action Against Kwaśniak and Other Former KNF Officials

- I see no basis for such actions. I have read the report on the KNF's activities from 2012 to 2014. In my opinion, there were no grounds for decisive prosecutorial action against Wojciech Kwaśniak and other officials of the former KNF. Prosecutor Święczkowski raised his hand on television and repeated three times: this is a real KNF scandal. I am convinced that these actions were not taken without the approval of the superior authorities of the prosecution - stated Krzysztof Parchimowicz, head of the Lex Super Omnia Association, in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:52

Parchimowicz:

The Current Prosecutor's Office is a Tool in the Hands of the Ruling Party

- It is naive to believe that a prosecutor's office run by politicians will be apolitical. Therefore, the current prosecutor's office is a tool in the hands of the ruling party. The Venice Commission, after its audit in Poland, directly states that politicians cannot govern the prosecutor's office – stated Krzysztof Parchimowicz, head of the Lex Super Omnia Association, in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:56

Parchimowicz:

Prosecutors Yield to Political Pressure. A Stick and Carrot System Has Been Introduced
Yes, yes, definitely yes [prosecutors are yielding to political pressure]. This is because – and this is a quote from prosecutor Święczkowski – a stick and carrot system has been introduced. Some are tempted and demoralized with promotions and money, while others are harassed for independent stances – stated the head of the Lex Super Omnia Association, Krzysztof Parchimowicz, in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego."

Neumann:

We've Been Discussing European Elections with the PSL for Months
We are talking about this because, after all, the PSL and we are in the same family within the EPP, in the same group in the European Parliament, and that is a natural choice, a natural foundation for building a broad coalition. We have been discussing the European elections with the PSL for many months. They are different from local elections, where the PSL strongly emphasized its identity. So, we also discussed this while we were together in Helsinki at the EPP congress, where we chose our joint candidate for the head of the European Commission. These will be important elections for Europe, and also for Poland. If our group wins these elections, we will be shaping this new structure of Europe together, the majority in the EP, the EC. This will have immense significance. And the Polish delegation will be the second largest national delegation within the EPP, so with a good result, our voice will certainly be very important and heard, and we need this to rebuild Poland's position in Europe – stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:13

Neumann:

Schetyna Met with Lubnauer Yesterday
- Here, no one is eating anyone. Some politicians from Nowoczesna have decided that this quick, deeper integration is needed. We've been talking about this for many months, we have talked and we continue to talk. The last meeting was yesterday, between Grzegorz Schetyna and Katarzyna Lubnauer, about how to combine the potential of Platforma and Nowoczesna for the upcoming elections, knowing that we need to draw conclusions from the local government elections – stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:16

Neumann:

We Will Build a Broad Bloc

- We will build a broad bloc, which within this Christian democratic family will be founded on PO and PSL. I have such hope. We are talking with PSL. To this, we must add all those groups or environments that will want to rebuild Poland's position in Europe with us - stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:17

Sawicki on No-Confidence Vote: We Will Certainly Support This Motion. The Goal is to Remove the Bad Prime Minister Morawiecki
I am not a fan of Grzegorz Schetyna. I believe Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz would be a better Prime Minister. Let's wait for the elections and see what coalitions form after the elections – Marek Sawicki said in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program „Gość Radia Zet”. We will certainly support this motion at this moment, because it's not about Grzegorz Schetyna becoming Prime Minister, but about removing the bad Prime Minister Morawiecki – Sawicki added.

08:18

Neumann on a Joint Election Bloc for EP Elections: Possibly Including Biedroń if He Wished to Join

- It is important that we reach an understanding and find a formula that will be a broad bloc in the European elections, starting with Civic Platform and the Polish People's Party, through Modern Poland, or the Democratic Left Alliance, or other environments on the left, possibly including Robert Biedroń if he wished to join such a bloc - stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:25

Neumann:

Gasiuk-Pihowicz Didn't Come for Positions, Because We Don't Have Them. She Came for Hard Work
- We must not, and I will strongly insist on this, compare these two matters [Wojciech Kałuża with Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz] - stated Sławomir Neumann in a conversation with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. - Councillor Kałuża switched from KO to PiS. With that single vote, against the wishes of Silesians, he handed over the Silesian Sejmik to PiS - he continued.
"Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz didn't come here for a position, because we don't hand out positions, we don't have positions. She came for hard work now and in the future during the campaign, both of them, in order to build a broad coalition."

08:29

Komorowski:

Kaczyński Fails to Address Emerging Threats to His Political Camp

I had the impression that I was listening to an old man, an aged politician, who was going in circles. He is answering questions about today in the same way he did x months ago. It is evident that he has not found answers to the emerging threats to his own political camp. Not only due to old sins like the dismantling of the Constitutional Tribunal or the defeat in dealings with European institutions when attempting to seize control of the courts in Poland, but he is also not finding answers to questions and threats related to the recently revealed corruption scandal concerning the PiS-affiliated individuals within the KNF” – said former president, Bronisław Komorowski, in a conversation with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

08:33

Sawicki on the Late Scheduling of the No-Confidence Vote: It's a Tactic So the Public Hears as Little as Possible About PiS's Sins, Weaknesses, and Shortcomings
You have to ask Mr. Kuchciński. PiS generally fears parliamentary motions concerning them. They either postpone them or schedule them for late at night – said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia Zet" program. It's a tactic so the public hears as little as possible about the sins, weaknesses, and shortcomings of the Law and Justice party – Sawicki added.

08:37

Komorowski:

I Don't Believe in Biedroń. Initiatives Based on Nostalgia for Novelty in Politics Generally Don't Work

I don't believe in Robert Biedroń. There have been such initiatives based solely and exclusively on nostalgia for novelty in the political arena. Such are people’s dreams that something new might emerge. Generally, it doesn’t work out. Such was the fate of Samoobrona, Palikot's party, and that's somewhat the current fate of Nowoczesna. Politics is a difficult craft. You need people experienced not only through holding various important state positions but also from tough party battles,” said former president Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

08:37

Sawicki:

If any UED MP Decides to Join Nowoczesna, They Have Full Freedom to Do So

- If any of the European Democrats' MPs decides to join the Nowoczesna club, they have full freedom to do so. This is not a decision of the club, it is the decision of an individual person – said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program „Gość Radia Zet”.

- On the matter of dissolving small clubs, Civic Platform is no different from PiS – Sawicki added.

08:40

Neumann:

We Are Also Talking to Czarzasty
We are also talking to Włodzimierz Czarzasty. Such a meeting took place quite recently – stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:42

Sawicki:

PSL should run in the European elections under its own banner, forming its own electoral committee. Definitely not under the Civic Coalition's banner.

- In my opinion, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is a better candidate for Prime Minister than Grzegorz Schetyna. In my opinion, the Polish People's Party should run in the European elections under its own banner and form its own electoral committee. Not alone, but surrounded by various rural and also conservative circles. Definitely not under the banner of the Civic Coalition - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

08:45

Neumann:

We will win the elections and have 250 seats
-We will win the elections. We will have 250 seats [in the Sejm] and there won't be a problem of anyone being interested in switching [to another club]. I'm talking about a large bloc that we will build around Civic Platform - stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:48

Protasiewicz on Joining the Nowoczesna Club: "I Was Asked in a Rather Friendly Way if This Was Even Conceivable. Sometimes Extraordinary Measures Are Needed for Extraordinary Circumstances."

- I was sounded out. I was asked in a rather friendly way if this was even conceivable. As I say, it's difficult, very unconventional, even extraordinary, but the situation we had in the Sejm last week was also extraordinary, so sometimes extraordinary measures are needed for extraordinary circumstances – said Jacek Protasiewicz in an interview with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały Dnia" (Signals of the Day) on Radio Jedynka.

08:51

Protasiewicz on Joining the Nowoczesna Club: This Week's Prospect, Possibly Even Tomorrow, When the Matter is Decided

- I think that this evening the situation will become clear enough for us to be ready to make a decision, whatever it may be. This week's prospect, possibly even tomorrow, when the matter is decided - said Jacek Protasiewicz in an interview with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gócek on Jedynka Radio's "Sygnały Dnia".

08:56

Protasiewicz:

WKK is Growing into a Leader, in a Good Sense. He Tries to Unite, He Tries to Understand Different Views, Different Sensibilities

- President Kosiniak-Kamysz is a man who also used a very nice phrase, who believes that in opposition we should shake hands, not trip each other up. I see him as a man who is growing into a leader, in a good sense. He tries to unite, he tries to understand different views, different sensibilities - said Jacek Protasiewicz in an interview with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on 'Sygnały Dnia' on Jedynka Radio.

09:38

Sasin on Farmers' Protest: The Matter Must Be Clarified, and I Believe the Minister of Agriculture Will Expedite This

- There is always an expectation that this aid might be greater. We, as the government, have allocated record-breaking funds for assistance to both farmers affected by ASF and those who suffered losses due to drought. The matter must be clarified, and I believe the Minister of Agriculture will expedite this explanation – said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

09:42

Sasin on PiS Saturday Convention: PM Morawiecki to Speak; Time for Summaries and Outlining Our Governing Vision

- The weekend promises to be very busy. I'm having difficult conversations with my wife, who demands more time for herself and for gifts. Law and Justice conventions are always very interesting. Prime Minister Morawiecki will be speaking. It's time for summaries and outlining our governing vision for the near future - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

09:50

Sasin on Constructive Vote of No Confidence: 9 PM on Friday Due to PM's Participation in EU Summit

- The 9 PM slot on Friday [for the debate on Civic Platform's motion for a constructive vote of no confidence] is due to the Prime Minister's participation in the European Council summit, and we can imagine the opposition's comments if the debate were to take place in the Prime Minister's absence. This is simply the first available slot when the Prime Minister can appear and present his position. The Prime Minister's performance is rated very highly. For those in the opposition, even if we were to build an eldorado under the Prime Minister's leadership, they would always say it's bad and not right - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's "Tłit" program. He added:

"The situation with former Prime Minister Beata Szydło will not repeat itself. The opposition will not furnish the government with nonsensical motions. This motion is completely unserious. Firstly, because PiS has a stable parliamentary majority. Secondly, it is completely unfounded. It is based on unverified media reports, fake news, and pseudo-information. The very name 'constructive vote of no confidence' implies that an alternative to the government's proposals should be presented. This is entirely lacking. Civic Platform has nothing to offer."

09:51

Sasin:

I Can Say for Sure Today That These Increases Will Not Affect Individual Households
It is not the case that everything is alright. He who does nothing makes no mistakes. We have challenges that we must face. For instance, the threat of electricity price hikes. I want to state very clearly that this threat will not affect Poles. We had a very serious discussion within the government yesterday. The Minister of Energy has a very clear task – to prevent this increase, so that Poles do not feel these changes in energy prices. In the near future, we will be able to present mechanisms that will ensure these effects are not felt by Poles. I can say for sure today that these increases will not affect individual households. No Pole, an individual consumer, will pay more for electricity in the future that lies ahead. Institutions such as hospitals will also not bear such costs. We are looking for, and I am convinced we will find, mechanisms so that, for example, local governments do not feel these effects. Regarding small and medium-sized enterprises, a mechanism is also being created so that they will not pay more for electricity. All such information about bakeries and small businesses, there is no basis today for this to happen. It is only a matter of big business. I want to strongly warn against various entities trying to increase the prices of goods or services, as if seeking justification in the fact that the price of electricity will rise. No, it will not rise – stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's program "Tłit".

Zybertowicz:

The Key to Understanding Morawiecki's Phenomenon Might Be Kaczyński's Appreciation for Someone with a Strong Financial Career Rooted in Traditional Polish Values

"As far as I know, it is important for Jarosław Kaczyński whether his understanding of the world deepens through conversations with anyone. I have the impression that the key to explaining Morawiecki's phenomenon might be that Jarosław Kaczyński probably liked that someone, who was in the midst of a well-developing financial, professional, banking career, at the same time, due to their upbringing context, their biography, was attached to certain traditional Polish values. Perhaps he saw a unique potential here, that attracting such a person to politics could be an added value," said Prof. Andrzej Zybertowicz in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:16

Zybertowicz:

Kaczyński Believes Honesty is Better, But Perhaps it was a Painful Surprise that Some 'Good Change' Circles Proved Less Resistant to Corruption's Temptations

The Chairman [Kaczyński] is convinced that honesty is better, but perhaps it was a painful surprise for him that a portion of the 'Good Change' circles turned out to be significantly less resistant to the temptations of corruption, the glitter, the shine associated with power than he thought” - stated Prof. Andrzej Zybertowicz in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Feeling myself part of the 'Good Change' camp, I see that we have insufficient resistance to the temptations associated with power in the state” - he added.

10:30

Sasin:

We cannot abstract from the fact that Mayor Zdanowska received a very strong democratic mandate in these elections

- We have a fact that is difficult to dismiss, because the will of the voters in a democratic state is paramount. We cannot abstract from the fact that Mayor Zdanowska received a very strong democratic mandate in these elections. Over 70% of Łódź residents voted for her. This is a fact that is difficult to ignore. On the one hand, we have the law, and on the other, a very strong democratic mandate. In a democratic state, these two matters should not diverge too much – stated Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti".

Morawiecki in Tusk's Style Surprises Opposition, Seeks Vote of Confidence to Deliver Second Expose
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has surprised the opposition by not waiting for the vote on the motion of no confidence filed by Civic Platform and for a defensive debate on the rights of the opposition leader's opening speech. Instead, he has himself requested a vote of confidence for his government. This procedure is described in Article 160 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, which states: "The Prime Minister may request the Sejm to express a vote of confidence in the Council of Ministers. A vote of confidence in the Council of Ministers shall be granted by a majority of votes with the presence of at least half of the statutory number of deputies." The Prime Minister's request for a vote of confidence in the Council of Ministers shall be considered at the next Sejm session, and if the motion is submitted during a Sejm session – during its course. The Prime Minister's sudden appearance in the Sejm, rather unusual at the beginning of a routine session when the head of government is not a Member of Parliament, heated up the political atmosphere from the morning and sparked speculation about what the ruling party had planned. The Prime Minister's completely unexpected request aims for an offensive move, to seize the initiative. The Prime Minister wants to show that he, not the opposition, dictates the terms. A debate on a motion of no confidence is always defensive because it takes place under the rules of the opposition leader's speech. In this sense, it is an attempt to steal the show from the opposition's long-prepared motion. An important aspect of Morawiecki's political calculation is his trip to the EU summit after securing a vote of confidence, especially against the backdrop of May's troubles in maintaining her party's support in the House of Commons, Macron's wavering stance, the change of guard in the CDU, the dramatic situation of the new Italian government with its skyrocketing deficit, or Spain's continuous instability surrounding the situation in Catalonia. Morawiecki wants to show in Brussels that among the 5 largest EU countries, Poland maintains considerable political stability – in this context – and public finances are close to balance. The Prime Minister's submission of a request and his offensive move surprises commentators and the opposition, helping to seize the initiative after a period of certain stagnation and discouragement. It is evident that Jarosław Kaczyński has given Morawiecki the green light for a parliamentary offensive. Perhaps this is the most important decision from the recent PiS party retreat in Jachranka, which they managed to keep secret, thereby protecting an important political maneuver from being exposed in the media, a fate that many PiS ideas have repeatedly suffered in the past. The method of action, keeping such political moves secret, and surprising political rivals also resembles the modus operandi of Tusk's team during the peak of his political dominance.

Sejm Honors the Memory of Jolanta Szczypińska. P.Kaczynski: She Was Deeply Committed to Poland's Affairs, and Despite Suffering from Serious Illness for Nearly 19 Years in the Later Part of Her Life, Her Commitment Continued Until Her Final Weeks.
- On December 8th, Jolanta Szczypińska, the deputy chairwoman of our club, passed away. She served as a Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for almost 15 years. She was involved in Solidarity, an underground activist, a distributor of illegal publications, a persecuted and beaten individual. I first learned of her, without knowing her personally, as a member of the Helsinki Committee, precisely because even at the end of that period of persecution by the Security Service, she was subjected to particularly brutal persecution. Later, she was a member and activist of Porozumienie Centrum (Center Agreement), a member of its Supreme Political Council, and the head of the Słupsk organization of PC. Subsequently, she joined Law and Justice. She was a Member of Parliament, head of the Gdynia constituency, and later the Słupsk constituency of PiS. She was a person deeply committed to Poland's affairs, and despite suffering from serious illness for nearly 19 years in the later part of her life, her commitment continued until her final weeks – said Jarosław Kaczyński in the Sejm.

PM Requests Vote of Confidence for Government
Three years of PiS rule, of the United Right, governments that have decisively changed the way we look at economic and social policy have now passed. In relation to this, we are certainly at a turning point today, which we want to clarify in discussion, in debate, about the path that society chooses - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm. - Our proposal is unequivocal. I would like to strengthen this proposal. The Sejm is an emanation of the will of the nation, and it depends on the Sejm's decision whether there will be a mandate to continue our reforms. That is why I will turn to the Speaker with a request for a vote of confidence, so that the High Chamber can express its opinion on whether the program of reforms and changes we have proposed is to be continued - he added. - Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, there is a European Council meeting. A very important EC meeting. At this EC meeting, I must be sure that the government has the mandate, the support of the parliamentary majority, and that is why I am submitting such a request to the Speaker and asking for it to be processed - he continued.

PMM:

In cooperation with the opposition, we can implement a wonderful change

- I would like to address our compatriots and thank them very much. For your commitment, and for being so actively involved in public affairs, for being interested in public and social matters. For the increasingly high voter turnout, for this visible interest in Poland. I would like to say that I am happy about this debate. Because the opposition in the last year has shown that they most often boycott joint celebrations, like Polish Army Day or our invitation to joint celebrations of the November 11th anniversary. All the more I am pleased that there is such an opportunity here, because during a meeting like this, we can discuss the most important questions - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm. He added:

"The most important question for Poles is: how should we govern? In the interest of all Poles, miners, shipyard workers, nurses, farmers, professors, pupils, students, the elderly and the young, parents and children, is Poland a unity, or do we look at it as certain interest groups, as to a large extent, though I don't accuse everyone of bad faith, we want to see the seed of good, and so by posing the question, I also ask the high chamber to assess the past year, the last 3 years, but I would also like to look into the future, because I hope that Poles will entrust us with the reins of government in a year's time"

- I have a request for you, for the opposition in particular, that you don't listen to your spin doctors today, but speak from the heart about Poland, about Poland with joy, hope, as the holidays approach. In cooperation with the opposition, we can implement a wonderful change. We invite you to a wonderful change. The opposition has a very important role to fulfill - added PMM. - We want to continue to reform the Republic of Poland, it is evident how much has been achieved in these 3 years, and there is really no need to write various letters abroad. We can discuss it here together. Let's show it - he stated.

12:08

PMM:

We Said We Would Lower Taxes for Small and Medium Enterprises, and We Did

- We said we would lower taxes for small and medium enterprises, and it happened. We have the lowest taxes in the EU for SMEs. Corporate tax at 9%. Is it possible? It is possible - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm. Among the fulfilled promises, the head of the Polish government mentioned, among others, the establishment of the Centre for Strategic Analyses and the allocation of funds for a thermomodernization program.

12:12

PMM:

We are rebuilding what you dismantled during the PO-PSL governments
- We are rebuilding what you dismantled during the PO-PSL governments. Police stations, post offices – you very often used to dismantle them, or railway stations. Today, we are gradually developing Poland in all these areas stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

12:19

Morawiecki:

"Thanks for implementing fundamental changes to enhance judicial independence"

“I thank Prime Minister Beata Szydło for all her actions on the social front. The achievements we have, the great achievements in reducing inequality, are the result of the Prime Minister’s great work. Thank you very much, Prime Minister. Many projects have already been implemented, and several are planned for the coming year,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

“I thank Prime Minister Gowin for taking on the task of improving the state of Polish science. There is still much to be done there. I also thank him for implementing such fundamental changes to enhance judicial independence. Here I thank Minister Ziobro. Through the random distribution of court cases, and the prohibition of transferring judges between departments,” he added.

12:26

PMM:

We have succeeded in genuinely reducing bureaucratic burdens for citizens

I promised in my expose that we would reduce bureaucracy. And there is very concrete data. How many pages of laws and regulations were issued annually? In 2015, almost 30,000 total pages. In 2018, it will be around 14,000 pages, meaning over 50% less. We have succeeded in genuinely reducing bureaucratic burdens for citizens” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

12:31

PMM:

We Emphasize, Law and Justice and United Right, that a Strong Poland is Only Possible in a Strong, Efficient Europe, and there is no Strong EU without a Strong Poland

"We emphasize, Law and Justice and the United Right, that a strong Poland is only possible in a strong, efficient Europe, and there is no strong EU without a strong Poland. Let us imagine that the EU is a tenement house, where different families, i.e., nations, live in various apartments. Is it not the case that within these families, we should first reach an agreement among ourselves before we go to complain to the caretaker or a neighbor?" - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

12:31

PM:

The EU is of great value to us

- The EU is of great value to us, but different interests also clash there. This is obvious. We take great care of those interests – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

12:36

PM Morawiecki: No Energy Price Hikes

- In 2008, you did not veto this climate policy, leading to us being in an extremely difficult situation today that we are trying to resolve - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

- In 2014, the Prime Minister returned, claiming 100% success, but we know today that the derogations needed for our energy transformation, within economic realities, were not achieved - he continued.

- However, despite these past mistakes of yours, I want to say: there will be no energy price hikes - declared PM Morawiecki.

12:48

Confidence Vote Debate to Conclude at 4:30 PM; Voting Block Scheduled for Evening

Following Prime Minister Morawiecki's address, a 30-minute break will be announced, after which a series of questions to the head of government will commence. This segment is scheduled to conclude at 4:30 PM. The vote will most likely take place at 10:00 PM, but the schedule may still change depending on the number of questions.

12:51

PMM:

Plugging the VAT Gap

- The VAT scandal - the biggest scandal of the Third Polish Republic. Your Deputy Minister in your government clearly stated that the laws were written for lobbyists - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated in the Sejm.

- We are plugging this VAT gap and lowering VAT for ordinary citizens, and at the same time, state revenues are growing so much that one only needs to look at the Ministry of Finance website to see that within 4 years, we will have almost 50% more revenue for the budget - PMM continued.

12:57

PM Morawiecki: I Want to Invite the Opposition to Jointly Celebrate Major Anniversaries Next Year
“When going to the European Council, I must be sure that I have a mandate from the Sejm to conduct actions and negotiations, and it is precisely such a mandate that I want to ask for again,” stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm. He added:
“Today, from this podium, I want to invite the opposition to jointly celebrate the major anniversaries of next year. For us to together celebrate the anniversary of the Round Table, the anniversary of Poland’s accession to NATO, to the EU. June 4th, the anniversary of regaining freedom. After all, at that time, different people, both from Civic Platform and Law and Justice, looked at the Round Table differently. I was against it, but today I appreciate it, that was the wisdom of that stage.”

13:51

WKK to PMM: The Foundation of Your Government, Your Actions, is a Lie

- The foundation of your government, your statements, your actions is a lie. It is the worst possible foundation because nothing lasting can be built upon it. These lies, which you told and repeated during the campaign, concern the desire for cooperation. You reject all pro-social projects, for pensioners and families, in the first reading. Today, you are also unable to go to the farmers; instead, you are playing political games to merely cover up problems. You have not spoken with the protesting nurses, we saw your empathy for the disabled in the Sejm, and today the farmers called you for a debate. You sent a minister who only insulted them – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the questions regarding the motion of confidence.

13:56

Lubnauer to PiS: I See You No Longer Have Ideas to Offer Poles

- For 3 years, we've observed that you've fundamentally been preoccupied with yourselves. What we have today, I understand, is supposed to be some kind of children's party celebrating your third birthday. I see you no longer have any ideas to propose to Poles, and when we look back at these years, let's see. Scandals plus, inflation plus, the cost of living for families has increased by 60% over these 3 years. Lies plus, two rulings by the Prime Minister, Rydzyk plus, a lot of money for Rydzyk, Smog plus, more and more Poles are dying from smog. ASF plus, 1/4 of households may be destroyed. What do we have in return? Schools minus, liquidation, a de-reform of education. Investments minus, in 2017 they were the lowest in 20 years. Add to this the specter of Polexit. Let's say it boldly: you are tripping over your own feet. This is the end of your ideas for anything you have to offer Poles. Realistically speaking, you are already truly ending - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer during the questions regarding the motion of no confidence.

Schetyna on PM's Speech: He Boasted of Pseudo-Achievements Unrelated to This Government

Today's protest on the A2 highway is very symbolic. The Prime Minister didn't say a word about the protests, about the problems, the difficulties. He didn't want to address them. He boasted of pseudo-achievements that are not dependent on this government. I believe this is a maneuver, a ploy organized to avoid a debate regarding the vote of no confidence. If there is no debate today, only questions, then of course we are waiting for the debate on Friday, and we will present our strong arguments there” - said PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, in a conversation with journalists.

PiS wants to get through the crisis. They are not succeeding, so outwardly they are whitewashing reality and pretending that everything is fine. It is not fine. I will be talking about this on Friday” - he added.

14:02

Petru to PiS: Your Government is a 'Scandal Plus', 'Misiewicze Plus', and 'Coal Plus'
Prime Minister, propaganda will not obscure the facts. You did not mention that in the three years of your government, public debt has increased by PLN 100 billion. Instead of 100,000 apartments under the 'Mieszkanie plus' program, you have built only 480. This year, 10,000 fewer children were born than last year. Second, Prime Minister, why are you washing your hands of the KNF affair? You were personally responsible for this institution. Why did you not force the resignation of NBP President Adam Glapiński, as you did with Marek Chrzanowski? Why did you not dismiss Minister Ziobro, who wanted to arrest the officials who uncovered the SKOK affair? Why is there no reaction from your side? – stated Ryszard Petru during the questions regarding the motion of confidence. – Your government is a 'scandal plus', 'Misiewicze plus', and 'coal plus' – he concluded.

14:08

Rzepecki to Prime Minister: How Can We Trust You? You Are Not Implementing Your 2015 Election Program
Prime Minister, how can we, as Kukiz'15, trust you, when you are not implementing your own 2015 election program? The PiS program stated that fuel prices would not be increased. In 2019, we have a 10 groszy per liter increase in fuel prices, which consequently leads to an increase in food prices. You said there would be no electricity price hikes – there will be increases for small and micro-entrepreneurs. This means Poles will once again feel the increase through their wallets. 2019 – another increase, this time in water prices – stated Łukasz Rzepecki during the questions regarding the motion of no confidence.

Trzaskowski Questions PM on Energy Price Hikes

14:39

Tomczyk:

The Prime Minister Said No Energy Price Hikes. How Does That Square with a 53% Increase for Warsaw Trams and 30% for Warsaw Metro?

"Prime Minister Morawiecki said there would be no energy price increases. Those words were spoken from that podium. How does that align with a 53% increase for Warsaw Trams and a 30% increase for Warsaw Metro? Will this money flow from the government? From Nowogrodzka Street [PiS headquarters]? From the PiS budget? No, it will flow from Polish local governments, where people pay taxes. It will have to come out of the pockets of Polish taxpayers" - said Cezary Tomczyk of Civic Platform (PO) in the Sejm.

14:40

Nitras:

Poland Dropped in OECD Ranking from 8th to 37th Place. Parliament Once Truly Controlled the Government

“You did not mention the democracy ranking. Poles have fallen in the OECD ranking from 8th to 37th place compared to 2014. It indicates that we are experiencing regression regarding judicial independence, the politicization of public media, excessive control over non-governmental organizations, and the disappearance of parliament's oversight role. I know you have never been a Member of Parliament, so you don't know how parliament functions. Parliament once truly controlled the government. The Prime Minister would be in parliament, MPs would ask questions, and no one would turn off their microphones” - said Sławomir Nitras from Civic Platform (PO) in the Sejm.

PM in Online Clip: "Polexit is a Monumental Nonsense. The EU is Our Future. It is in Poland's Interest to Be in the EU, to Endure, and So It Shall Remain."

This [Polexit] is a monumental nonsense, or as they say now, an absolute fake news. We are in the Union, we belong to the European Union, and the European Union is our future. We are capable of being very effective in the EU, both in terms of the mandatory relocation of refugees, where we negotiated a certain voluntariness, but also in the area of budget negotiations. Here, with each subsequent meeting, we show that there will be an increase in funds compared to the European Commission's original plan. We have a very good and growing position in the European Union. Perhaps some people don't like this, but it certainly serves Poland's interests, and it is certainly in Poland's interest for us to be in the EU, to endure, and so it shall remain” - says Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an online recording.

Next year, several anniversaries await us, but one is particularly beautiful. It is the 15th anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU. We want to celebrate it with joy, and we will certainly show this joy in the streets and everywhere, but it is also worth highlighting our effectiveness and the fact that in talks with various prime ministers and presidents, I am asked how we managed to take care of our income in this way, to have funds for social and development policy at the same time, while our budget deficit is decreasing. This is something that shows that Poland is not only a part of the EU, but that we are becoming a very important interlocutor, that we are educating others on how to conduct economic policy” - he added.

Karczewski on the Saxon Palace: In one part, we want the Senate to find its seat. The Senate deserves to be in a more representative location

- The Saxon Palace is of great value, it is a magnificent building that was at the center of Poland, the center of Warsaw. It perfectly closes off Piłsudski Square. We will rebuild the Saxon Palace within a 4-5 year program. In one part, we want the Senate to find its seat. As for the second part, the one on the north side, we will announce a competition for what to organize there - said Stanisław Karczewski during a press briefing in the Senate.

- I hope it will be an even more exceptional place for us, Poles. The Senate deserves to be in a more representative location. This place is also beautiful, but we rent everything from the Chancellery of the Sejm. It is not the property of the Senate. I have visited beautiful senates in Spain, Italy, and Paris on official visits. Beautiful, very representative buildings. I am convinced that Poland also deserves this – added Karczewski.

Sejm Accelerates Vote on Vote of Confidence

The voting block, scheduled for 10:00 PM, will commence at 5:45 PM. The Prime Minister's motion for a vote of confidence will also be voted on at that time.

Święczkowski:

Draft on Appointing a Receivership Board in SKOK Wołomin Created in September 2013. Since Then, PLN 1.7 Billion Was Siphoned from SKOK Wołomin Before Receivership Was Established on November 4, 2014.

- This is a draft decision from the KNF (Financial Supervision Authority) from September 2013 regarding the appointment of a receivership board. This very draft was created in September 2013, and in September, at the beginning of October, a receivership board should have been appointed in SKOK Wołomin. From that time, ladies and gentlemen, until the establishment of the receivership board on November 4, 2014, PLN 1.7 billion was siphoned from SKOK Wołomin. To the detriment of ordinary, simple, honest Poles and to the detriment of the Bank Guarantee Fund. Had the KNF made this decision in September 2013, there would not have been such enormous losses - said Bogdan Święczkowski at a press conference at the National Public Prosecutor's Office.

16:57

Dworczyk:

We Will Present Further PiS Programmatic Ideas in the Coming Days

- What is very important to me is that the economic data is so good, that we have the lowest unemployment in history, we have very good data regarding economic growth dynamics. This provides opportunities and certainty for the implementation of further social and solidarity programs – stated Michał Dworczyk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- I urge for a bit of patience. In the coming days, we will present further programmatic ideas of PiS. This is what distinguishes us from our opponents – that we want to talk about the program, we will present concrete projects – he added.

16:58

Dworczyk:

The Opposition Wanted Another War and Dispute by Filing a No-Confidence Motion. The Prime Minister Preempted These Actions

- It is worth mentioning today the Prime Minister's speech, who presented very hard data regarding both the economy and the socio-political situation, before the questions that will soon be asked and before the trip to Brussels. We urge the opposition towards substantive discussion, dialogue. The opposition wanted to wage another war and stir up another dispute by filing a no-confidence motion. The Prime Minister preempted these actions by calling for substantive dialogue - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

17:18

Senate Approves Appointment of the Children's Ombudsman

In a block of votes, the Senate approved the appointment of Mikołaj Pawlak to the position of Children's Ombudsman. 57 senators voted "for" his candidacy, while 26 voted against. No one abstained. This concludes the procedure for electing the Children's Ombudsman.

17:20

Morawiecki to Opposition: You Raised the VAT
Ladies and gentlemen, the devil donned a chasuble and rang the bell for mass with his tail. You are the ones who raised VAT from 22 to 23 percent, by almost 5%, more or less. From 7 to 8. Everyone can say it's temporary, but it was your decision, and you never in your lives expected such effectiveness in VAT recovery - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

17:29

PM Cites Constitutional Tribunal on the KNF:

The Prime Minister Essentially Has No Supervisory Powers Over the Commission.

- Allow me to quote a judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal from 2011. It states: “The Financial Supervision Authority is a special organ of state administration, with a high degree of independence, situated outside the structure of government administration,” and further, in the judging panel Andrzej Rzepliński, Mr. Judge, “The Prime Minister essentially has no supervisory powers over the Commission, because the laws do not authorize him to request information, as is the case with government administration organs” – said Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

17:33

PMM:

An MP Accused Us of Censorship. Are We for Censorship? For ACTA2? Are PO MEPs For ACTA2?

- An MP accused us of censorship. Are we for censorship? For ACTA2? Are PO MEPs for ACTA2? – Mateusz Morawiecki asked in the Sejm, addressing MPs from PO.

17:54

Sejm Grants Government Vote of Confidence

Before 6:00 PM, the Sejm granted Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's government a vote of confidence, as requested by the latter. 231 MPs voted in favour, 181 against, and two abstained.

19:50

Schetyna:

There is an attempt at deceit and an attempt to bypass the open debate scheduled for Friday

- I don't think you can call it that [that Prime Minister Morawiecki outplayed him]. What happened is that he got scared and fled from the debate on a constructive vote of no confidence. Either we play by the same rules, or we are cheating. You can choose a different approach. Here, there is an attempt at deceit and an attempt to bypass the open debate that will take place on Friday - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

- This is Morawiecki's trick: after his speech, there was no debate [from him], no club speeches, only questions - added the PO leader.

19:54

Schetyna:

We Will Remove More Ministers, We Will Force a Debate on KNF and SKOKs

- He [Prime Minister Morawiecki] has a vote of confidence and will have another one, and then another. We will remove more ministers, we will force a debate on KNF, on SKOKs - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

19:55

Schetyna:

PM Morawiecki Won't Like Fridays

- [Prime Minister Morawiecki] won't like Fridays. We're waiting for the evening. I know they will try to push this as late as possible, to debate on Friday evening or from Friday to Saturday. If someone does that, it always comes back. Everything comes back, and this will come back to Morawiecki and PiS as well - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

19:57

Protasiewicz on PM's Speech: The Prime Minister Isn't Funny

- He might not have noticed it, but many failed jokes, references to "Alternatywa 4" (Alternative 4), to some janitor, the Angel, whom everyone fears and who, as I understand it, lives in Brussels. The Prime Minister's jokes aren't working, his historical comparisons aren't working - said Jacek Protasiewicz in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:03

Schetyna:

It looked like a farewell speech from the head of government at the beginning

- Yes [I was surprised] because there was a different plan. The Friday debate was supposed to happen, and that's how the convention was prepared. I think it was just invented on the fly – Grzegorz Schetyna stated in a conversation with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News. - At the beginning, it looked like a farewell speech from the head of government, who was submitting the government's resignation, because he thanked everyone – he added.

20:15

Schetyna:

Everything Will Pick Up Pace in Campaign Mode from January

- From January, everything will truly pick up pace in campaign mode, and they [PiS] and Mateusz Morawiecki must expect a tough ride. I'm talking about the entire Law and Justice party - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

Przyłębska on Judges' Letter Regarding Adjudicating Panels: I Can Assure That Everything is Happening in Accordance with Current Regulations

"I thought the atmosphere [in the Constitutional Tribunal] had already calmed down. Indeed, the judges are very active. During my tenure as President of the Constitutional Tribunal, they have sent me many letters. I have responded to all of them. These letters concern, among other things, issues related to the formation of panels. I can assure you that everything is happening in accordance with current regulations. I am a little surprised that the same judges were very passive when annual leave was misused in an unlawful manner" - said President Julia Przyłębska on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

20:33

Przyłębska:

The Constitutional Tribunal is independent, sovereign, and has no supervisor in Poland or Europe

The Polish Constitutional Tribunal is independent, sovereign, and has no supervisor in Poland or Europe. We present the work of the Constitutional Tribunal to the Sejm and Senate. I also present the annual report” – said the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Julia Przyłębska, on „Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

20:38

Dworczyk:

The Prime Minister Extended a Hand for Dialogue and Conversation, But It Was Met with Disappointment and Hung in the Air

- The Prime Minister extended a hand, encouraging dialogue, encouraging conversation. Unfortunately, he was disappointed because this extended hand hung in the air. What resonated most, in my opinion, in the Prime Minister's speech was precisely the proposal for a serious conversation about the future of Poland  - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program „Minęła 20”.

20:39

Przyłębska:

The fact that judges in the Constitutional Tribunal can send me letters is proof they are treated as independent entities

The proof that judges [in the Constitutional Tribunal] are treated as independent, impartial entities, in accordance with the constitution, is the fact that they can send such a letter to me. I respond to these letters, and it entails no negative consequences. Since such letters were not sent before, and there were problems, it means that perhaps there were some fears among the judges” – said the President Julia Przyłębska in “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

20:42

Przyłębska:

I want to reassure everyone. No case challenging Poland's foundations in the EU has ever reached the Constitutional Tribunal

I want to reassure everyone. I say this with full responsibility: no case challenging the foundations of Poland's functioning and membership in the European Union has ever reached the Constitutional Tribunal. There is no such case in the Tribunal. There is no case that in any way undermines our participation in the EU. I want to reassure everyone here and assure you that there is no such case” – said Julia Przyłębska, President of the Constitutional Tribunal, on the program „Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.

20:45

Dworczyk:

A Skillful Move by PM Morawiecki That Turned the Tables on Civic Platform's Strategy

- If we were to consider this matter solely from the perspective of our domestic, internal politics, then one could indeed say that it was a skillful move by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who reversed the situation generated by Civic Platform. Civic Platform, which sought confrontation, which wanted a plebiscite between Mateusz Morawiecki and Grzegorz Schetyna, who is proposed as prime minister within the framework of a constructive vote of no confidence. Prime Minister Morawiecki says something else. It is not important, or perhaps less important, who, but rather how they govern and what they aim to achieve. That is why the Prime Minister's address today had a substantive character - said Michał Dworczyk in a conversation with Michał Rachoń on the program 'Minęła 20' on TVP Info.

The counter-offensive carried out by Zbigniew Ziobro's closest and most trusted man. It was Bogdan Święczkowski who publicly accused Wojciech Kwaśniak for a long time on Wednesday. -- ŚWIĘCZKOWSKI: The management of KNF knowingly and intentionally did not introduce an interim management. (...) This is sufficient evidence. Very strong evidence to press charges against the KNF management. -- It is likely that Wojciech Kwaśniak heard publicly what the National Prosecutor said on Wednesday earlier, behind closed doors at the prosecutor's office – after he was taken to Szczecin with the assistance of CBA agents to be charged with acting too slowly with his colleagues in the SKOK Wołomin case. The charges concern the fact that the KNF only introduced an interim management to the Wołomin cooperative in 2014 – Krzysztof Skórzyński. -- KWAŚNIAK: Contrary to the law, unjust. I hope I will be cleared of these charges quickly. -- At Wednesday's conference, the National Prosecutor presented the calendar of actions of the Financial Supervision Authority selected by the prosecution. According to Wojciech Kwaśniak – a flawed calendar – Skórzyński. -- When Bogdan Święczkowski left for the press conference, the motion from Wojciech Kwaśniak's defense attorney was already lying at the prosecutor's office. According to unofficial information, he wants to be excluded from the supervision of this investigation, both Bogdan Święczkowski and Zbigniew Ziobro, precisely because of their public statements – Skórzyński. -- It is very rare for a prosecutor to openly criticize the statements and actions of other prosecutors. However, Krzysztof Parchimowicz from the "Lex Super Omnia" Association of Prosecutors commented on the matter this way – Skórzyński. -- PARCHIMOWICZ: The current prosecution is a tool in the hands of the ruling party. (...) I am convinced that these actions would not have been taken without the approval of the superior prosecution authorities. -- PIS POLITICIANS REFUSED TO ANSWER QUESTIONS - Skórzyński: It was impossible to talk to PiS politicians about this matter on Wednesday. They did not want to answer the question of whether Zbigniew Ziobro should supervise the investigation into the KNF scandal. Neither Wojciech Kwaśniak nor any of the group of former KNF officials, who were charged by the prosecution and detained with him, were arrested. The prosecutor did not even request it. -- NEW LEPPER? They paralyzed the A2 highway without warning. Farmers stood on a section near Brwinów at dawn, and a multi-kilometer traffic jam formed there for many hours. There were many emotions, complaints, and concrete demands, but not only to the Minister of Agriculture, but also to the Prime Minister. The protesters were led by Michał Kołodziejczak, a farmer, whom some are already calling the "new Andrzej Lepper." -- PAWEŁ PŁUSKA ON "NEW LEPPER": The leader of Wednesday's protest was Michał Kołodziejczak, a farmer from the Łódź region. Together with his family, he runs a farm of about one hundred hectares. Until recently, he was even a councilor in the Błaszki municipality. - I assess him as a young, brave man - stated the Chairman of the Municipal Council in Błaszki, Ireneusz Hendrysiak. Michał Kołodziejczak ran on the PiS list. He spoke of Beata Szydło as a "woman from the neighborhood"; after her resignation, he did not hide his disappointment. - Rural Poland has been deceived; a banker entered Beata's seat and shoes - he said after her resignation. Much has changed since then. Michał Kołodziejczak began leading people to the streets; his Vegetable and Potato Union appeared. At one of the protests, he threw the European Union flag onto the asphalt. He began to be recognized as a peasant leader and is increasingly referred to as the new Andrzej Lepper. -- DEPUTY IS BEING CHEAPLY RECYCLED - Pochanke: Jacek Protasiewicz is to join the Nowoczesna parliamentary club, which after its recent split from the club became a circle. The parliamentary club of the Polish People's Party-European Union Democrats threw him a lifeline, "lending" Protasiewicz. And what if someone else leaves Nowoczesna again? -- WE ARE CONSIDERING HOW TO HELP NOWOCZESNA, BECAUSE WE ARE LOOKING FOR FRIENDS, WE HELP, NOT TRIP THEM UP - WKK. -- THE MOVE AGREED WITH PSL WOULD RESTORE PRESTIGE TO THE CLUB FOR NOWOCZESNA - Knapik. -- IT'S ABOUT MAKING SURE THIS SOLUTION MAKES SENSE, THAT WE WON'T END UP LIKE HIMLSBACH WITH ENGLISH - Protasiewicz. -- THAT THE PLAN WON'T END IN ANOTHER FAILURE AND COMPROMISE - Knapik. -- THAT CAN HAPPEN, SO IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S A CIRCLE OR A CLUB, BUT WHETHER THERE IS A POLITICAL IDEA - Schetyna, in response to Knapik's question about whether more N deputies might join PO. -- IT IS A MATTER OF RESPONSIBILITY; EVERYTHING SHOULD BE DONE TO MAKE THE CIVIC COALITION BRAND AS STRONG AS POSSIBLE - KGP. -- BUT THE POINT IS THAT IN THIS DREAMED-OF SINGLE COALITION OPPOSITION, THERE MIGHT NOT BE ROOM FOR, FOR EXAMPLE, JACKA PROTASIEWICZA OR ADAM SZŁAPKI, WHO IS BLAMED FOR THE SCANDAL WITH WOJCIECH KAŁUŻA - Knapik. -- NOWOCZESNA ENDURES AND ENDURES - Adam Szłapka. -- THEREFORE, THEY WANT TO CREATE AN ALLIANCE OF NOWOCZESNA, PSL, AND PERHAPS SLD - Knapik. -- POLLS INDICATE THAT ANY DIVISIONS ARE A BONUS FOR JAROSŁAW KACZYŃSKI - Knapik. -- INCREASINGLY EXPENSIVE TRASH: Trash is getting more expensive, and it's becoming increasingly clear that it's worth segregating it. From January, residents of Łódź, among others, will receive an increase – by 80 percent. Instead of 7 zlotys – 13 zlotys per person for segregated waste, and non-segregated waste will increase from 13 to as much as 22 zlotys. And we will start looking at cardboard and plastic bags much more carefully. ***** WIADOMOŚCI TVP -- THE PRIME MINISTER REQUESTED A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE FOR THE GOVERNMENT - announcement: According to Sejm arithmetic, he received the vote. -- THE VOTING RESULT WAS NOT A SURPRISE. In turn, the CBA arrested 5 people suspected of defrauding 10 million zlotys based on fictitious invoices. -- FARMERS' PROTEST ON THE A2. -- KRZYSZTOF SZCZERSKI CONTINUES HIS WORKING VISIT TO WASHINGTON. Today he met with the Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia. The topic was the increased presence of American forces in our country.
