At 10:00 AM, the government will address a draft introducing a one-time modification to the currently binding principles of revaluation, consisting of raising the lowest benefits accordingly to a) PLN 1100 for the lowest pension, disability pension due to total incapacity for work, survivor's pension, and social pension, b) PLN 825 for the lowest pension due to partial incapacity for work, as well as applying the statutory revaluation index, while ensuring a minimum guaranteed benefit increase of PLN 70.

Also at 10:00 AM, the investigative committee for VAT fraud will convene in a closed session. At 1:30 PM, the parliamentary constitutional responsibility committee will hear from Agnieszka Tomalska, an employee of the Supreme Audit Office's delegation in Łódź, summoned as a witness in the preliminary motion to bring the President of the Supreme Audit Office, Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, before the State Tribunal for constitutional responsibility.

The EU General Affairs Council, under Article 7(1) of the Treaty on European Union, will conduct a hearing on the rule of law in Poland. The Council will also exchange views on respect for EU values in Hungary.

“We will demonstrate that the PiS government's policies are successful, for instance, economic development – over 5% GDP growth. Let's contrast this with what's happening in the Eurozone, where there are serious economic troubles,” Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said on Radio Jedynka.

“We are consistent in fulfilling our election promises. It's impossible to implement all the changes we've committed to within 4 years, and verification will come in just one year,” he added.

This question suggests that the Prime Minister or politicians of the ruling party have some influence over how the prosecution service operates. It's not the case that politicians control the prosecution service, nor should they. One thing I do like is that the prosecution is acting independently of who holds what political position or how their arrest, interrogation, or indictment will be perceived - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". "If there are grounds and evidence that the law was indeed exceeded or that the KNF (Polish Financial Supervision Authority) did not act as it should have in the SKOK Wołomin case, and let's recall: the losses there amount to PLN 1.5 billion, that's how much was siphoned from SKOK Wołomin. 85,000 people were harmed, a large portion of whom lost their money because they had larger deposits than the BFG (Bank Guarantee Fund) could compensate, then it is indeed a huge scandal, bigger than Amber Gold, and all this happened due to the complete inaction of the KNF, which watched what was happening there for over 1.5 years and did not react."

- We are dealing rather with criminal inaction. That's how I would describe it journalistically, which led to enormous losses and indeed we can talk about a major scandal. However, in the case of Chairman Chrzanowski, we are dealing with a different action, an attempt to conduct a deal - stated the PiS politician.

- In this matter, there is indeed no doubt that Mr. Kwaśniak is the victim and deserves compassion, and the perpetrators should be severely punished. Those who commissioned it as well - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- In my opinion, inaction occurs when, for over 1.5 years from the moment information was received about major irregularities, about a scandal, about money being siphoned out of SKOK Wołomin, no effective actions are taken to stop this scandal. That statement [about taking over Nowoczesna MPs] is untrue. I will speak very firmly about this. It's not a case of some kind of abduction, of Sabina being abducted, of hostile takeovers in the Sejm corridors and pulling people into Civic Platform. That's not how it is. Everyone has free will, an MP decides their own fate. I am in favour of integration. That's true. If you ask me: yes, I am in favour of integrating Nowoczesna and Civic Platform. We cooperated very well in the local government campaign. We won it in all cities and in some regional assemblies. I thought that as a next step, we should give a chance to show that there is integration of parliamentary clubs, because the cooperation is very good. That was such a signal and unfortunately, no agreement was reached within the Nowoczesna club. - From the very beginning, we told Civic Coalition that we would not join them, as it was formulated more for local government elections and consisted of Civic Platform and Nowoczesna without the Polish People's Party. Creating a joint bloc for the European elections, based on a dignified place for all entities, is a different matter - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

- We do not rule out [a joint bloc for the European elections]. The national council has given us authorization for talks. However, we have also stated to ourselves – we are preparing from today for an independent start, should these talks not bring results - added the PSL leader.

"Every election has its own specifics. Local government elections were different, where the Polish People's Party should have gone independently, and it was good that it did. European elections are different, where together with Civic Platform, for example, we are in the European People's Party, and this common denominator of a strong Poland in a strong Europe is very much present, and parliamentary elections are yet another matter. And this decision will be made before the parliamentary elections. We need to see how such a joint bloc turns out. This is sometimes a good moment to test."

It is not decided that PiS won't have a second term, though I would very much not want that. Mrs. Szydło was a very poor, provincial, unprepared Prime Minister, she often compromised Poland, and unfortunately, one can only speak of a certain rivalry between her and the Prime Minister in this regard. The biggest success? Not ruining the economy. It's doing okay, though it's levitating because it lacks investment foundations. The biggest failure – in terms of external image. It started with the first interview where he spoke about the re-Christianization of Europe, from participating in the Munich conference where he went to lay wreaths at the monument of the Świętokrzyska Brigade, and it ends today with speeches about divisions among Poles. I would give him a grade of "3" on a school scale. „Political cannibalism is not Grzegorz Schetyna's invention. It has existed and will likely continue to exist, but decency is also important and it's worth being decent. We are trying, in this term of office, especially since the new leadership of the PSL came in, to particularly apply the principle of decency” - said Piotr Zgorzelski from PSL-UED in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in „Sedno sprawy” on Radio Plus.

„If the Chairwoman [Lubnauer] takes control of the club and there are no further transfers, then I think that in the period of a few months, nothing major will happen. We [Schetyna's behavior] do not accept. For us, this is unacceptable behavior, especially since we ourselves have been the subject of such actions from PiS” - he added. 

- I am ready to support a common opposition list for the European Parliament. I am ready to support it as actively as possible – which also means running as a candidate. I am ready to support a grand political undertaking that would be the first step towards implementing significant political change in our country. It seems to me that if this pro-European opposition united and nominated former prime ministers, presidents, and foreign ministers, such an unprecedented political offer in all of Europe and history would be extremely eloquent, showing Poles that the matter is important – stated Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on the WP program "Tłit".

- Petru should remain silent after he destroyed the party he founded himself two years ago. I'm aware Schetyna isn't Joan of Arc, but Nowoczesna destroyed itself. Petru's successors haven't shown great political talents. I believe Schetyna didn't corrupt these people to join PO; they left their own party on their own. "What more is there to say, no harsh word seems too harsh for Minister Zbigniew Ziobro's statement, but in reference to the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General, it represents the Himalayas of political shame. Because, to some extent, it absolves those who are perpetrators of assault. If the victim is somehow to blame for some reason, then essentially the Prosecutor General, who should be against criminals, is somewhat explaining it away and appears to be treating these criminals leniently. "We want to call on Prime Minister Morawiecki and Minister Brudziński to take action. We are dealing with a situation where the commander of the Podlaskie police has called for the collection of denunciations, for attacks against MP Bożena Kamińska. "In line with our election campaign promises, salary increases for teachers will take effect from January 7th. These increases are for teachers who are just starting their careers or have been working in schools for several years, as we face a nationwide and Warsaw-specific problem in attracting university graduates to the profession. We urgently need teachers, hence these raises. From January 7th, 7,000 contract teachers with a master's degree and pedagogical training will receive a 270 zloty increase to their base salary, while over 1,000 probationary teachers with the same qualifications will receive a 250 zloty increase. Additionally, we are equalizing the salaries of support staff, as we have disparities between districts. We want to raise these salaries to ensure a uniform standard," said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, at a press conference.

- On the one hand, the KNF is now accused of failing to detect and fulfill its supervisory duties over SKOKs, but the national board of SKOK is obligated to do precisely the same, and all of this is outlined in the law – said Adam Szłapka during a press conference in the Sejm.

- We have decided to file a complaint with the prosecutor's office against Mr. Grzegorz Bierecki and all previous board members of SKOK, for failing to fulfill their duties, because the act on Credit Unions imposed on them the obligation to supervise all SKOKs – the MP added.

- We have all set the bar very high for ourselves when it comes to an honest state. It is always, and recent actions regarding the KNF confirm this, when any shadow falls on a public official, regardless of how high a position they hold, that it will be investigated. This is how the Law and Justice government acts and how it will continue to act – said Joanna Kopcińska when asked by journalists about Senator Bierecki.

The Sejm will only address the motion for a so-called constructive vote of no confidence on Friday. This, at least for now, is how the Sejm's agenda is shaping up. On that day, voting is scheduled for the morning, between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM, followed by a Christmas wafer meeting, more voting, and between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM, the second reading of the 2019 budget bill. The Sejm will then consider the Civic Platform's motion for a so-called constructive vote of no confidence at 9:00 PM. The vote is expected to take place around 11:00 PM.

It is unclear when the vote on adopting the 2019 budget will occur. It may happen in January – according to the preliminary version of the schedule, voting was supposed to last through the main part of Friday, and for now, a third reading at this sitting is not planned.

However, the situation is dynamic, as just an hour ago, information emerged that the Sejm would address the constructive vote of no confidence motion as early as tomorrow. The Presidium is expected to convene tomorrow morning.

We'll see if such a decision is actually made, but if the former mayor were to decide to run for the Senate from Warsaw, then surely – just as we cooperate with MPs and Senators today – I will cooperate with Madam Mayor. After 12 years of such intense work, and in total several decades of intense work, Madam Mayor certainly deserves a bit of rest, but indeed, knowing Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, she probably hasn't said her last word” – said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on RMF FM.

„When it comes to what PiS is doing with energy policy, it's unbelievable. All the money that we negotiated to transform Polish energy, these gentlemen burned it in the furnace, and today they are negotiating with the European Commission that instead of building green energy with this money, they will be paying out compensations. 100% responsibility for the electricity price hikes lies with the PiS government” – said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM.

Certainly, in Law and Justice, as in any organization, I would be a hypocrite if I claimed otherwise, there are various kinds of tensions. There are politicians who cooperate better with each other. There are politicians who cooperate worse with each other. Prime Minister Szydło is an extremely important politician in our camp. Over two years, as prime minister, she has delivered many valuable projects. I can say one thing. We cannot underestimate any political initiative, but we know that various initiatives have appeared on the Polish political scene over the past years, most of them have not been successful. The government has decided that from March 2019, pensions and disability benefits will be subject to a combined cash and percentage revaluation, and the lowest guaranteed pension and disability benefits will be increased. As a result, all pensions and disability benefits will be increased by the revaluation index resulting from the law - not less than PLN 70 gross. It is estimated that in 2019, the revaluation index will be 103.26%. This means that the lowest benefits will be increased by 6.8% next year – twice as much as if the statutory projected revaluation index had been applied.
