Wednesday marks the first day of the Sejm session, which will continue until Friday. The deputies will begin deliberations at 10:00 with a brief voting block. This will also be when the parliamentary oaths are taken. It is possible that deputies will convene for voting a second time at 12:45.

At 8:30, the Sejm's extraordinary committee for deregulation will provide its opinion to members of the social policy team on the draft amendment to the act on the prohibition of Sunday trading. At 9:30, a press conference will be held in the Sejm by Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus and Ryszard Petru regarding the Sunday trading ban and the motion for information from the Prime Minister concerning the KNF scandal.

Ministers are organizing their press conferences as part of the 3rd anniversary of PiS taking office: Mariusz Błaszczak (at 9:00), Marek Gróbarczyk (at 10:30), Łukasz Szumowski (at 12:00), and Joachim Brudziński (at 14:00).

This morning – as reported by RMF FM radio – the presidency of the Nowoczesna club is scheduled to meet, where they will discuss the proposal to merge clubs with Civic Platform.

- I don't rule out such a possibility [dismissal from the court]. This fight for judicial independence and judge impartiality is not over. It's still ongoing. I think so [such a dismissal would be a political and unwarranted retaliation] - stated Igor Tuleya in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- In my opinion, we have not gone even a single step too far. We are acting in accordance with the law, the standards that apply in Europe. In accordance with an act such as the Sofia Declaration from 2013, signed, among others, by the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) – stated Igor Tuleya in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- Of course it is [wearing a "Constitution" t-shirt is apolitical]. "Good change" is one thing, the Constitution is another. Of course, "good change" in nature conservation, football – probably. However, by wearing the Constitution, we wanted to say that we are defending the values enshrined in the Constitution – stated Igor Tuleya in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program.

- I am convinced that unfortunately this fight, this defense of the Constitution and the judiciary has not ended. These may be some superficial concessions [regarding the Supreme Court], but I am convinced that those who invented the so-called reforms will not give up on them, and in reality, everything is still ahead of us - stated Igor Tuleya in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". As he emphasized, "we are not defending names, we are defending principles and institutions."

- As I said, the fight is not over. I am convinced that this St. Bartholomew's Night still lies ahead for judges - stated Igor Tuleya in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". - I think every scenario is possible. I think the mildest version for the defenders of the courts would be the simple removal of a few judges who are the faces of the protest or speak out in this public debate. I think such a scenario is entirely possible - he continued.

- We are pointing out that effectively there is no KRS, which is the most essential body related to the judiciary, meant to safeguard the independence of courts and judges. The last session of the KRS was, as far as I recall, in March of this year. Meanwhile, what is functioning now is not a constitutional body. The individuals who sit there were chosen in contravention of the law. - This is Mr. Adam Glapiński's sensitivity. Let's not deny politicians the right to their own sensitivities. We have independent courts, the courts will rule or take action. The prosecution must take action, the question is what the prosecution will rule - said Waldemar Paruch in an interview with Piotr Kraśka on the program "Poranek TOK FM".

- I wouldn't have done it. I don't react to various lies that appear about me. I don't usually react that way. Of course, I am not the president of the National Bank of Poland, and my reactions do not influence the state of the financial system - added Paruch.

- In my opinion, she won't leave. In my opinion, she will continue to build the Civic Coalition, because it is a very good project. The fact that there is such loud deliberation about whether to use other tools for such a broad coalition is another matter - said Adam Szłapka in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

- Katarzyna Lubnauer and Grzegorz Schetyna should continue building the Civic Coalition, because it is a success for Katarzyna Lubnauer and Grzegorz Schetyna. They built it really well, I participated in it. Now we need to consider what tools to choose. I don't see consolidating clubs as a good tool. I believe that today parliamentary clubs are a good tool for the opposition to show how we are creating a broad, yet coherent coalition - said Adam Szłapka in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

„A broad coalition, absolutely yes. However, there must be a common programmatic denominator, and in the European Parliament elections, this will be whether we want a Polexit or a strong presence in an integrating Europe. Because what Law and Justice is doing in Europe shows that it is clearly pushing us to the margins, and from the margins straight outside the structures of the European community. My aim is to build a list that clearly wins elections against PiS and confirms Poles' European aspirations” - said PO chairman Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Jedynka radio.

"The formation of Civic Coalition and our cooperation were a signal that the opposition can integrate. Such integration in the context of next year's elections is interesting, intriguing, it brings a new quality. I believe that building the KO was a good step" - said the PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on Radio Jedynka.

– The presidential plane has landed, it is now at the St Andrews base. The Polish president was welcomed by the head of US protocol. Naturally, the Polish state [in the USA] is represented by President Andrzej Duda, while former president Lech Wałęsa was invited by the family of the late president Bush – stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

When asked about conversations between the presidents, the spokesperson for PAD replied: – It was a long flight, so such conversations likely took place. Especially since the two presidents sat next to each other.

- I understand that Tadeusz Rydzyk, as an important figure in PiS, is scaring PiS politicians by threatening to leave if they are not as radical as he is – said Adam Szłapka in conversation with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

- It's good that President [Lech Wałęsa] decided to fly. However, he has his reputation in the USA. It's good that he approached President Duda with such a request, asking the President to take him on board the presidential plane. This is truly a very important gesture from President Duda. We are above the ongoing political conflicts in our country, and this also concerns such gestures that are sometimes small, but quite significant – stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

- I will not cooperate with Roman Giertych. However, I have participated with him in marches and demonstrations - stated Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

When asked if they were on opposing sides, she replied: - And please believe me, in recent years he has marched in defense of the Constitutional Tribunal. But I don't know if that's so important. You win with a program, not with Roman Giertychs or their absence.

- Let's leave friendships aside, because we are discussing serious matters. I understand that Robert has some political program and is trying to raise money for it. It's his choice whether these methods are sensible and cool. I would seriously consider at what point to make a t-shirt with my own image. Because it's one thing if someone else does it. I've seen t-shirts that girls made with my mother and wore at various protests. However, I am a humble person and would never have thought of making a t-shirt with my own image, but I understand that others don't have such reservations - stated Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti", commenting on the so-called Biedroń t-shirts.

I don't intend to shake up Europe. It's a very nice distinction, but it must be said that I am listed as someone meant to shake up Europe, while I believe it's the trends that will shake it up. It so happens that I collaborated on the large women's protests that halted the nightmarish ideas of PiS concerning reproductive rights. We also need to fight populism and extremism, and the question arises about the path forward. We've seen examples in Hungary, which resulted in Orbán ruling there for over a decade. I did something that was considered bold. The effect is that in many places, we managed to stop PiS - stated Barbara Nowacka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti," referring to the "Politico" ranking.

"I think it's good that a place was found, since President Wałęsa requested such a possibility. It's good that this place was found. I don't want to comment on what has unfortunately been happening with President Lech Wałęsa in recent years. I think each of us also needs time for these new solutions to come into effect, to be implemented, and to be able to calmly and steadily approach them and assess, from the perspective of time, what these solutions look like - added the Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration.

- The last three years have seen many breakthrough decisions that have led our army out of an era of stagnation. Today, I will focus on key actions that have brought our military into the 21st century. We timely implemented an urgent recovery program, starting with the crucial issue of securing funds for the military - said Mariusz Błaszczak during a press conference summarizing three years of the Ministry of National Defence's activity.

- The formation of the Territorial Defence Forces remains one of our priorities. Contrary to fake news, we are not phasing out territorial service. The opposite is true. We are making every effort to ensure that the Territorial Defence Forces develop in a sustainable manner – Błaszczak continued.

- The most serious negligence committed by the previous Civic Platform-Polish People's Party government was a completely dysfunctional command and control system, which could have had tragic consequences for Poland in the event of an armed conflict. The pseudo-reform of 2014, devoid of elementary logic, introduced competency and bureaucratic chaos. In 2018, we began to set this system right again, standing it on its feet – assessed the head of the Ministry of Defence.

- In March of this year, I signed a groundbreaking and the largest contract in history with the United States for the purchase of medium-range anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems, Patriot, as part of the first stage of the Wisła program. Poland will be the second country in the world, after the United States, equipped with these most modern versions of the system with the IBCS system – Błaszczak added.

- Another breakthrough in increasing our defence capabilities is the approval received a few days ago from the US Department of State for the sale of 20 HIMARS launchers to Poland, which are high-mobility rocket artillery systems – the minister continued.

- We are undertaking unconventional actions to reach young people and encourage them to become professional soldiers. The recruitment campaign "Become a Soldier of the Republic of Poland," which I initiated in October, serves this purpose. We want to show potential candidates that this is not only service but also an interesting, stable, and prospective job, and an opportunity to acquire specialized qualifications – Błaszczak assured.

- The Law and Justice government has undertaken to change Poland for the better, also in military matters. Today, after three years in power, we can proudly say that our work for Poland serves our compatriots and independence – the minister concluded his address.

- The [Modern] (.Nowoczesna) club did not decide to join a single Civic Coalition club. It did not pass a resolution that Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz wanted. Of course, we are still talking - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

- The chairman, speaking about integration, is sending such an invitation. We cared about this. We see the activity of many MPs from Nowoczesna. We perceive this, we believe that joint work of the clubs, the Civic Coalition club, makes sense and we believe that it is possible – said Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- Step by step. Building the Civic Coalition also took me some time to convince partners, including Katarzyna Lubnauer. I am optimistic because this is what Poles expect. We showed this in the Civic Coalition in the local government elections. We want such integration here in parliament, we believe it is a good step before the European and parliamentary elections. This makes political sense – Schetyna added.

Members of the Extraordinary Committee for Deregulation have given a positive opinion on the amendments to the Act on the Sunday Trading Ban.

Today at 6:45 PM in the Sejm - according to the preliminary schedule seen by 300POLITYKA - the second reading of the bill amending the law restricting trade on Sundays and holidays, effectively leading to the tightening of the system, was scheduled to take place. • Cooperation should be based on foundations that will yield the best electoral result. We believe that a joint parliamentary club would not strengthen Civic Coalition, but rather weaken it, because it would take away our ability to speak out – Katarzyna Lubnauer stated in the Sejm.
• First and foremost, she (Gasiuk-Pihowicz - ed.) acted against the party's will, because the party quite clearly wants to have a separate club and believes that due to our differing views on many matters, our voting patterns, and our stances on many issues, forming one club would weaken rather than strengthen Civic Coalition – Lubnauer added.

- Today, at the presidium of the Modern Poland parliamentary club, a resolution was presented proposing the idea of creating a Civic Coalition club as a way to strengthen and deepen the functioning of the Civic Coalition. This resolution was adopted by the presidium of the Modern Poland club, but after a discussion at the parliamentary club meeting, it was unfortunately rejected by the majority of Modern Poland MPs. What I would like to emphasize is that this resolution is an expression of our respect for the project that is the Civic Coalition, for the hope it has given Poles that the nightmare of Polish democracy, which is the rule of PiS, can end. This resolution is also an expression of courage, a good idea to present and strengthen the idea of deepening the Civic Coalition. Even though this resolution was rejected today at the club meeting, we still hope and will continue to persuade our colleagues in the club to support this idea, the idea of forming a joint Civic Coalition club. We are not closing ourselves off to discussions. This idea remains open. We hope that by the end of the week, the Civic Coalition club will have more members - stated Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz at a briefing in the Sejm.

Ryszard Petru, the leader of the Nowoczesna party, has stated that the party was not established with the intention of merging with Civic Platform (PO) or compromising its principles.

In a statement posted on his Twitter account, Petru emphasized that Nowoczesna was created to offer a distinct political alternative and to promote specific values and ideas.

"Nowoczesna was not founded to join forces with PO and give up on its views," Petru wrote. "Our goal was to build a modern, liberal, and pro-European political force that would offer a real alternative to the current political landscape."

Petru's remarks come amid ongoing discussions about potential alliances and cooperation among opposition parties in Poland. While some speculate about a broader coalition against the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, Petru's statement suggests that Nowoczesna intends to maintain its independent identity and political agenda.

The party, which was founded in 2015, has positioned itself as a centrist, liberal force advocating for economic reforms, European integration, and the rule of law. Petru has been a prominent figure in Polish politics, often critical of the PiS government's policies.

The future of opposition politics in Poland remains a subject of intense debate, with various parties grappling with strategies for effective political engagement and electoral success.

We have supported, do support, and will continue to support the idea of the Civic Coalition. We are not going anywhere. For us, the most natural and responsible action, in the face of the threats facing Poland today, is to build and strengthen the idea of the Civic Coalition. Poles trusted us when we ran under this banner in the last local elections, and we cannot betray their hopes. This is not a time for Hamlet-like deliberation, for talking about the need to build this Civic Coalition, but a time for action. Any attempts to postpone, to deepen, to broaden the Civic Coalition are actually harmful to this idea. That is why today we are setting a good example, a good practice, of how cooperation within the Civic Coalition should be deepened, precisely by creating a common Civic Coalition club in parliament - stated Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz at a briefing in the Sejm. We are not joining the Civic Platform. We support, have supported, and will continue to support the idea of the Civic Coalition - she added.

As 300POLITYKA has learned, next Thursday, December 13th, the Sejm will consider a motion to express a vote of no confidence in the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and to elect Grzegorz Schetyna as the new Prime Minister. The debate on this matter is scheduled to last two hours, from 15:30. The vote will take place on the same day, in the block between 17:30 and 20:00.

The following day, Friday morning, the Sejm will adopt the draft budget bill for 2019. Voting will occur between 9:00 and 11:00, and 12:30 and 17:30. A Christmas wafer meeting is scheduled for 11:00. The second reading is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12th, at 10:00.

"Modern should maintain its organizational independence, not merge with other parties. We simultaneously believe that in the interest of preserving democracy in Poland" - write the Modern party activists from West Pomerania in a resolution. At the same time, they state that the party should cooperate with other groups, but with respect for its distinctiveness.

"Our predecessors liquidated over four hundred police stations across Poland. In doing so, they condemned Poles to having to wait for a police patrol to arrive from a neighboring town in situations of threat. We have reversed this disturbing phenomenon. These have been three good years when it comes to raising the security levels of Poles," stated Minister Joachim Brudziński during a summary of the government's three-year term.

"It was a normal overnight flight, so please bear in mind that everyone was tired and we slept through a significant part of it. There were no turbulences. We didn't talk [to Lech Wałęsa] for very long. It was a usual exchange of courtesies like between people. One must realize that I don't know President Wałęsa well. We had never spoken before, there was no such opportunity. He is a former President of the Republic of Poland and his presence at the funeral is obvious from my point of view. When President Wałęsa's associates approached us, asked me if we were able to help, we said that of course we are. For me, this is something natural" - said President Andrzej Duda.

Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz and Adam Sowa have been appointed as the new vice-chairs of the Civic Platform-Civic Coalition (PO-KO) parliamentary club. This appointment was announced by Rafał Trzaskowski on Twitter, in a post that linked to the official announcement.

The move signifies a shift in the leadership within the PO-KO club, indicating a strategic decision by the party to bring in new faces to key positions. Gasiuk-Pihowicz, a prominent figure in the Modern party (part of the Civic Coalition), and Sowa, a member of the Civic Platform, are expected to bring fresh perspectives and energy to the club's leadership.

The specific responsibilities and priorities of the new vice-chairs are yet to be fully detailed, but their appointments are likely to reflect the ongoing efforts of the PO-KO to strengthen its parliamentary presence and effectively represent its constituents.

- I don't believe that Father Tadeusz Rydzyk and Radio Maryja would want to get involved in any political project. Especially since this particular party would be one that splits votes on the right - Adam Bielan said in an interview with Tomasz Sekielski on "Onet Rano".

- At this moment, we remain faithful primarily to the Koalicja Obywatelska banner. Indeed, forming a Koalicja Obywatelska club means terminating membership in the Nowoczesna parliamentary club - Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz stated in the Sejm.

- This club [Civic Platform-Civic Coalition] is intended to be the beginning of the integration of the entire Civic Coalition environment. We have made a start by admitting seven MPs to the newly created club, who were previously in the Modern Poland club and who, together with us, want to integrate the Civic Coalition environment, integrate in parliament, as well as in regional assemblies, district councils, city councils, or municipal councils. This is the first step we are taking to make this integration a reality. It is not the last. This is a beginning, not an end. This offer, this invitation to the remaining members of Modern Poland, Katarzyna Lubnauer and other members of the Modern Poland club, remains valid, open, and we are counting on a positive response – stated Sławomir Neumann in a conversation with journalists.

- We assess the local government elections as a success, but we also knew that Poles who voted for Civic Coalition in these elections expect more from us. They want integration, effectiveness, for us to show that we know how to defeat PiS, that we are capable of uniting, integrating, building politics on the principles of trust, just like in the election campaign - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with journalists.

- These doors are very widely open. We ask and appeal to be together, to build a new quality of Polish politics - he continued. - The joint PO-KO club is a club that will give a chance and show guarantees of good cooperation - he added.

- I spoke with her [Katarzyna Lubnauer] today. I arranged a conversation, and we will meet today or tomorrow. We will discuss further cooperation - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with journalists.

- A group of six MPs has passed, because as a reminder, the seventh is no longer a member of Nowoczesna nor a member of the club. Automatically, all these people who left the Nowoczesna club cease to be members of Nowoczesna, because that's what the statute says. The statute clearly states that any person who leaves the parliamentary club of Nowoczesna automatically ceases to be a member of the party, therefore I understand that these people are non-partisan, they can join Civic Platform – Katarzyna Lubnauer said in the Sejm.

The Civic Coalition is a coalition of two entities: a political party, namely Civic Platform, Modern, and the association Initiative Poland. In this sense, what happened today did not turn the Platform club into the Civic Coalition club – Katarzyna Lubnauer said in the Sejm. What happened today undoubtedly strains our mutual trust, but it does not change the fact that the Civic Coalition, a broader coalition, is needed in Poland. Therefore, I cannot approach this through my indignation, through my agitation, or through other elements that would influence the distortion of my judgment. Of course, it hinders any conversations – Lubnauer added.

- I suspect it's a whip to scare Kaczyński. Seats in the European Parliament will be allocated; Father Rydzyk likes to have his own team in every crew in the European Parliament. They don't like Europe, but they like to go there. Therefore, this is a form of pressure; if the pressure doesn't work, there will be a party – said Bartosz Arłukowicz in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- If I were to briefly step into the shoes of a political scientist, that would probably be my diagnosis. If I were to briefly play the role of such an observer, I would likely point out that the Platform itself is strengthening, while the Civic Coalition, as an entity meant to unite the opposition and serve as an effective weapon against the United Right camp, has weakened. The illusion that we are a community of values seeking to remove the United Right from power is fading. Quite the contrary. What has happened today is not only not a form of cooperation, but rather political cannibalism. Moreover, the very manner in which it occurred, meaning the lack of demands or programmatic discussion on both sides today that are fueling this conflict, indicates that – for me, as a young man yet, but an experienced politician – the game of securing or trading seats in the European Parliament might be at play here. I am almost convinced that time will prove me right, that these individuals who are leaving the N parliamentary club for the Platform today have simultaneously secured seats for themselves in the EP – stated Patryk Jaki in a conversation with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".
