The second day of the Sejm's session will commence with a government current affairs report and questions on current matters. Members of Civic Platform (PO) will use these to seek clarification from Prime Minister Morawiecki regarding the situation surrounding the Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). At 13:15, a new parliamentary caucus, "Freedom and Effectiveness", will launch its activities at a press conference in the Sejm.
At 14:00, the Sejm's investigative committee on VAT fraud will question the former Deputy Minister of Finance, Jacek Dominik. The evening voting session in the Sejm will begin at 19:00. Also at 14:00, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will meet with the Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis.
Meanwhile, the Senate will likely begin its work today on the amendment to the Act on the Supreme Court. The provisions, which reinstate judges who were previously moved to inactive status, were passed by the Sejm yesterday at an expedited pace. At 13:00, a press conference will be held by the Committee for the Defence of Justice (KOD) near the rear entrance of the Supreme Court. Participants will include Tomasz Zalasiński, Michał Wawrykiewicz, Marek Tatała, Patryk Wachowiec, and representatives of the judges' association Iustitia.
At 10:00, the first session of the new Warsaw City Council will begin, during which Rafał Trzaskowski will be sworn in as the new Mayor of the capital. At 14:00, the Sejm's investigative committee on VAT fraud will question the former Deputy Minister of Finance, Jacek Dominik. The inaugural session of the Łódź Voivodeship Assembly will take place at the same time.
At 12:45, the second reading will take place of the government's draft law concerning the "correlation of tax rates with the state of public finances". In practice, this means that next year there will be no reduction of VAT from 23% to 22%, as was previously stipulated by existing law. A vote on the adoption of the draft will occur either during the evening session or tomorrow morning.
At 20:30, the Sejm will hear a report from the committee regarding the motion filed on June 24, 2018, by the Head of the West Pomeranian Regional Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, requesting consent to bring Member of Parliament Stanisław Gawłowski to criminal responsibility and to apply the measure of pre-trial detention. A vote is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Wójcik:
We will continue to reform the justice system. This is not a white flag
- I thought you would actually explain why there was this discussion about Polexit. I thought I would be apologized to today. I don't know if you specifically said it, but the opposition and some journalists were talking about Polexit - stated Michał Wójcik in conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
- And who said we gave up? We have adapted to the provisional decision of the CJEU, issued unilaterally. This means we respect the CJEU's case law. Here in the studio, with you, Mr. Editor, I said, because I was asked: what will you do? We are looking for a path to a solution, and this is that path. We have presented a proposal for amending the Act on the Supreme Court. A great battle for the justice system in Poland is ongoing. We will continue to reform the justice system. This is not a white flag, in no way - the Deputy Minister of Justice continued.

Wójcik:
The amendment to the Supreme Court Act does not mean we agree with the ECJ's ruling
– Professor Gersdorf is currently retired. She is not an active judge. It is true [she will soon become the First President of the Supreme Court again]. This is because such a provisional order has been issued, which we do not agree with. The fact that there is an amendment [to the Supreme Court Act] today, it must be said: this does not mean that we agree with what is written in this [ECJ] ruling. We are carrying out reforms in accordance with the Constitution and Polish law, but we also respect the ECJ's case law – stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

Wójcik:
A Campaign Stunt – Polexit Allegations and Ignoring ECJ Rulings. We Should Be Apologized To.
- I will look into this camera and say this: here in the studio, I told you that we are looking for a way out of this difficult situation. Therefore, we must respect Polish law and EU law. We will see what the final decision will be. I am saying what we have been saying for the past few weeks - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
- For what [should I apologize]? We should be apologized to. A campaign stunt during local elections, claiming there was a Polexit, that we would not comply with anything stipulated in the ECJ ruling, Polexit. That was utter nonsense, absurdity, untruth, manipulation. So, we should be apologized to for that - added the Deputy Minister of Justice.

Bielan:
We've Repeatedly Stated from the Start That We Will Comply with Both the Precautionary Measure and the Final Ruling
- We've repeatedly stated from the start that we will comply with both the precautionary measure and the final ruling. The final ruling is planned for around mid-next year – said Adam Bielan in an interview with Dorota Kania on Polskie Radio 24's "24 pytania".
08:07
- This law concerns only one element of the reforms we have implemented over the last three years. It is a small fragment of these reforms. It concerns solely and exclusively the issue of the Supreme Court. It is an important element of these reforms, but not the only one – said Adam Bielan in an interview with Dorota Kania on Polskie Radio 24's "24 pytania".
08:08
Wójcik:
If Necessary, There Can Be Fifteen More Amendments
- Please remember the balance of power in Europe, in the European Parliament. This will also change. It will also change in the European Commission - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". He added:
"We have [gone through] seven [amendments to the Act on the Supreme Court]. And there could be even fifteen more. Please remember that we are complying with the CJEU. Do you know who didn't comply? Civic Platform. In 2014. Did you say it was Polexit, that they wanted to lead Poland out of the EU? You did not say that."

Bielan:
We received signals to make a gesture and end this unnecessary war. We made such a gesture, let's see the European Commission's reaction.
- This dispute with Poland was unnecessary, and speaking with many politicians in Brussels, including commissioners, we received signals to 'do it, make a gesture, and we'll end this unnecessary war.' We made such a gesture, and we'll see what the European Commission's reaction will be - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Dorota Kania on Polskie Radio 24's "24 pytania" program.

Timmermans is a candidate to be a candidate for EC President. It's clear that Poland's case, perhaps Hungary's as well, is his main political fuel.
- One of the commissioners is using this issue for his political promotion. This has been confirmed. Frans Timmermans is a candidate to be a candidate for the European Commission President from the socialist group; he has a good chance of being the official candidate of this faction after the December congress. Considering he doesn't possess particular competencies beyond the rule of law issue, it's clear that Poland's case, perhaps Hungary's as well, is his main political fuel - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Dorota Kania on "24 pytania" (24 questions) on Polish Radio 24.

The Idea of Early Elections is a Typical Media Hoax
-With my hand on my heart, I have never heard of the idea of early elections at any meetings or internal discussions. Not until the media started writing about it, so it's a typical media hoax. I see no reason to organize early elections at this moment - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Dorota Kania on "24 Questions" on Polish Radio 24.

Government no-confidence vote tomorrow. KNF scandal exposes PiS state's pathology
"Tomorrow, during this session [we will submit a motion for a constructive vote of no confidence]. Many things, especially recent matters, what is happening in and around the KNF, this entire scandal that is unfolding today, demonstrates the pathology of the PiS state, the lack of reaction from the services, and corruption at the highest [level]. The lack of reaction shows that the state is not functioning. We are talking about an intervention by the services, securing the KNF building, and the apartment of its president, Chrzanowski. First, we submitted a motion to establish a parliamentary investigation committee. Tomorrow, we will submit a motion to dismiss the government" - said PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on Radio Trójka.

Schetyna:
Report to the Prosecutor's Office Next Week Regarding Political Corruption in Silesia
„One cannot report to the prosecutor's office or initiate proceedings simply because someone has achieved a majority. I understand the reservations about this matter. Political corruption is an act that constitutes a crime and is defined in the Penal Code. There is one of the highest state officials, a representative of the Prime Minister, the head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery. There is a local PiS MP. There is a victim, a councilor from Nowoczesna elected on the KO list, to whom political corruption is being presented. On the first day, before functioning, before the start of the term, they corrupt a representative of the other side and make them a corrupt offer to change the election verdict. They succeeded in this, and therefore we will notify the prosecutor's office. I think it will be next week” – said the PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on Radio Trójka.
08:48
„I do not applaud, because it is forced and not genuine. This is an attempt at a political power play. I would like them to stop demolishing the position and judicial independence, the independence of the courts, to leave the Supreme Court alone, to recall the substitutes and to accept the oath from the properly elected judges [of the Constitutional Tribunal]. If we want to talk about returning to normalcy, we must return to the state before they declared war on Polish rule of law” - said the Civic Platform (PO) leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on Radio Trójka.

We could have ignored the ECJ's interim measures somehow, but it wouldn't have been good. We are people who respect the law.
- The truth is that we are part of the EU. Since we are part of the EU, we also respect the legal order that prevails in the EU. And since that's the case, the interim measures of the Court of Justice had to be implemented, and they had to be done in some sensible way - stated Michał Woś in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".
- However, Poland is a sovereign country, and indeed, no one will dictate to us what and how we should do. Because we all believe that this act is constitutional, it is in accordance with the law, it is as it should be - added the plenipotentiary of the Minister of Justice.
- We could have ignored the [ECJ's] interim measures somehow, but it wouldn't have been good. We are people who respect the law. We are also part of the EU - Woś explained.

ECJ Decision Has No Legal Effect in Poland. Next Time, We May Decide the Issue is Too Significant to Recognize and Refuse Compromise
"It's not that the ECJ's decision has legal effects in Poland. That's the difference. Next time, we may decide that the issue is so significant that we will not recognize it and will not go for such a compromise. This time, we decided that we could go for a compromise as defined, i.e., a partial reversal of these personnel changes in the Supreme Court" - said Marcin Horała of Law and Justice (PiS) in "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus, in conversation with Jacek Prusinowski.
"Judicial reform is not just about the Supreme Court, and reforming the Supreme Court is not just about sending some judges into retirement. To take three steps forward, sometimes you have to take one step back. Although I would assess the proportions of these steps as 10:1" - he added.

Yesterday's Decision Proved All Rumors of Poland Leaving the EU are Completely Untrue
- We do not agree with the E.C.'s position, which brought this matter before the CJEU, but we respect the injunction. We are not offended by reality. Yesterday's decision proved that all rumors of Poland leaving the EU are completely untrue. It often happens that someone leaves court with a verdict they disagree with, but must respect it. If we had not carried out this amendment, we would have faced significant financial penalties. This case was, in its own way, precedent-setting. In this matter, the E.C. took, to put it euphemistically, non-standard steps. Now the ball is in the E.C.'s court; it is the E.C. that should decide to withdraw the complaint from the CJEU. Theoretically, this should happen. But let's not hide it, this case is part of the campaign for the European Parliament elections. One of the main actors in this dispute - Frans Timmermans - announced that he will run for the position of E.C. President. He has long used attacks on Poland and Hungary as a political springboard, giving him the opportunity to shine in the media and perform in the European Parliament. Unfortunately, we must take this into account - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's program "Tłit".
- This is indicated by the amendment concerning the Supreme Court [that Prof. Gersdorf will complete her term without issues]. I do not foresee another [amendment] appearing - added the Deputy Speaker of the Senate.

Warsaw Residents Won't Let Europe Be Taken From Them. I'm Convinced Any Such Attempt Will Fail
- Today marks 12 of the most important years of my professional life. So much has happened in these 12 years. Our city and our lives have changed significantly during this time. Firstly, Warsaw has become a European metropolis. This is not just due to the major investments we've managed to implement, such as the metro, boulevards, the Skłodowska-Curie Bridge, or the Copernicus Science Centre. More importantly, Warsaw residents feel like full Europeans. Today, when we think of "Europe," we can confidently say: "Warsaw." Warsaw residents won't let Europe be taken from them. I'm convinced that any such attempt will fail - stated Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz during the first session of the Warsaw City Council this term, combined with the inauguration of Rafał Trzaskowski.

We Will Not Retreat on Judicial Reform. We Are Consistently Continuing This Reform. There is Currently No First President of the Supreme Court. There is an Acting First President.
"Of course, we will not retreat in terms of the justice system reform. We are consistently continuing this reform. The fact that it is a difficult reform is evidenced by the fact that previous teams over three decades recognized such a need but did not undertake the reform due to difficulties. There will be a First President [of the Supreme Court] after this act is passed. Currently, there is no First President of the Supreme Court. There is an acting First President" - said Stanisław Piotrowicz from PiS in a conversation with journalists from TVN24 and wyborcza.pl.

Schetyna Was the Only Politician to Propose a Referendum on Poland's Exit from the EU in Recent Years
- Grzegorz Schetyna was the only politician who in recent years proposed a referendum on Poland's exit from the EU - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with journalists in the Senate.
- Very often we can leave court with the conviction that we were right, but the court's verdict was different. We must respect that verdict. We are not changing our minds on this matter, but a ruling from the CJEU has been made, a precautionary measure, and we respect that precautionary measure - added the Deputy Marshal of the Senate. As he added, "we have implemented the CJEU's precautionary measure 100%".

„In the KNF affair, more lies, more omissions, and more unanswered questions are emerging. Together with MP Golbik, we posed questions to Prime Minister Morawiecki during the current affairs session today. The Prime Minister did not answer them, instead sending the Deputy Minister of Finance, essentially the executor of his orders in this matter. We are asking why, in 2017, the macroeconomic requirements for banks were drastically increased by 50%. Who was the Minister of Finance then? Mr. Morawiecki. We are asking how it is possible that a completely unknown legal advisor from Oborniki Śląskie ends up on one of the most important supervisory boards in Poland, the Stock Exchange Supervisory Board. Who represented the State Treasury at the time? Minister of Development Mateusz Morawiecki. Everywhere we try to cut off the hydra's head, another grows. Each of these heads has Morawiecki's face” - said Jarosław Urbaniak from Civic Platform during a press conference in the Sejm.
„We are dealing with an octopus that has its tentacles. We see the participants in this game, the NBP and KNF affairs, the Ministry of Development, which was previously headed by Prime Minister Morawiecki, and the Ministry of Finance. The problem is that nobody wants to explain this affair. We see this at every turn” - added Marta Golbik from Civic Platform.
„This KNF affair, a PiS affair, the biggest affair in the history of the Third Polish Republic, cannot be waited out. Only a parliamentary investigative committee can clarify this matter. Do not believe that the Prosecutor General, a PiS politician, will thoroughly explain the case. Yesterday, we submitted a request to the President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) for an urgent, ad-hoc audit concerning the KNF. We will not let this matter go. At the latest, an investigative committee will be established in a year” - said Krzysztof Brejza.

On November 20, 2018, in a surprising turn of events, the regional assembly (sejmik) in Podlasie elected a candidate from the Civic Coalition (KO) as its Marshal, despite the Law and Justice party (PiS) holding a majority in the assembly. This outcome has sparked debate and analysis regarding the political dynamics in the region.
The situation highlights a complex political landscape where party affiliations do not always translate directly into predictable outcomes. While PiS secured the most seats in the Podlasie sejmik, a coalition of other parties, including KO, managed to secure enough votes to elect their candidate for the crucial leadership position of Marshal.
This development is particularly noteworthy as it suggests a potential for cross-party cooperation or, conversely, strategic maneuvering by opposition parties to gain influence and control over regional governance. The election of a KO candidate in a PiS-majority assembly raises questions about the underlying factors that influenced the voting, such as local allegiances, specific policy platforms, or strategic alliances formed outside the traditional party lines.
Analysts are closely examining the implications of this decision for the future of politics in Podlasie and its potential impact on the broader national political scene. The event underscores the unpredictable nature of democratic processes and the importance of coalition-building and negotiation in shaping political outcomes.

Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, testified in court yesterday, revealing the profound and lasting impact of his twin brother Lech's death. Lech Kaczyński, who served as President of Poland, died in the 2010 Smolensk air disaster.
During his testimony, Kaczyński stated, "To this day, I have not reconciled myself with my brother's passing." The emotional declaration highlights the deep personal grief that continues to shape the prominent politician's life and, arguably, his political outlook.
The context of Kaczyński's court appearance likely relates to ongoing legal proceedings, though the provided links do not explicitly detail the specific case. However, the mention of his brother's death is a recurring theme in public discourse surrounding Jarosław Kaczyński, particularly in relation to the Smolensk catastrophe and its aftermath.
The tragic event of April 10, 2010, claimed the lives of President Lech Kaczyński and 95 other passengers and crew members. The official investigation concluded that the plane crashed due to pilot error in dense fog. However, the incident remains a highly sensitive and politically charged topic in Poland, with various theories and interpretations circulating.
Kaczyński's statement underscores the enduring pain and unresolved emotions associated with the loss of his brother, a pivotal figure in Polish politics and in Jarosław's personal life. The court testimony serves as a public acknowledgment of this deep-seated grief.
The provided Twitter links appear to be contemporaneous reports or discussions related to this court appearance, potentially offering further details on the proceedings and reactions.

"This is a consequence of our cooperation during the local government elections. It is the beginning of a journey. Today, a confederation of freedom-oriented and anti-systemic circles is being formed. From today onwards, you can observe us as a different force within the Sejm compared to everyone else. Together, we will change the country. I invite everyone to join all branches of Skuteczni and Wolność across the nation. Together, we will change Poland" - said Piotr Liroy-Marzec at a press conference.
"Ever since I joined the Sejm, I have been advocating for various coalitions and agreements among broadly understood freedom-oriented movements and organizations. That's why the freedom forums were organized in the Sejm. Today, this is finally starting to materialize. It is never a simple process. There are always long negotiations and discussions. Today's events demonstrate that leaders can reach agreements, that they possess the maturity for broad cooperation, and this is a very strong signal for everyone at the so-called grassroots level that what they have been waiting for so long – an agreement – is finally beginning" - added Jacek Wilk.
"Today, the anti-system shows that we are strengthening ourselves through unity, not division. Cooperation among anti-systemic, freedom-oriented circles begins today with the establishment of the "Freedom and Effective" caucus. Through parliamentary cooperation, we will also invite other partners. I hope that the outcome of this cooperation will be further electoral successes" - explained Jakub Kulesza.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission, on November 20, 2018. The meeting, details of which were shared via a Twitter post from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland (@PremierRP), likely focused on matters of mutual interest concerning Poland's relationship with the European Union. While the specific agenda is not provided in the tweet, such high-level meetings typically cover economic cooperation, ongoing EU legislative processes, and the broader political landscape within the Union. Mr. Dombrovskis, as Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Euro and Social Dialogue, as well as Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, would have been a key interlocutor on economic and financial matters, areas of significant importance for Poland as an EU member state.

Kaczyński:
My Assessment of Wałęsa's Intellectual and Other Qualifications is Very Harsh. International Public Opinion Must Be Informed About Who is Serious and Who is Not in Poland.
„
To put it as briefly as possible, my assessment of the defendant's intellectual and other qualifications is a very harsh one. I have never hidden this. I don't think I need to elaborate on this thesis. I sometimes say this publicly. This is my view, based on observations and activities, both in the distant past, when there were also very good moments, and later, when those moments were lacking
” - said PiS chairman, Jarosław Kaczyński, before the court in Gdańsk.„
I think the defendant is a person who does not acknowledge such information. I believe that international public opinion must be informed about who is a serious person in Poland and who is not. Often, people who lack the qualifications to speak on various matters are treated in a way they should not be. This simply harms Poland
” - he added.15:42
The first session of the new term of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Sejmik is underway. The councillors have elected Andrzej Pruś from PiS as their chairman. In this voivodeship, the party holds a sole majority, but in recent days, media reports have emerged about a possible split and loss of that majority. The agenda also includes, among other things, the election of the voivodeship marshal.
15:48
Kaczyński:
If Wałęsa claims I am responsible for the death of my own brother and other loved ones, that I am mentally ill, and that I organized an operation against him, these are statements about facts that did not occur and are extremely offensive.
„I will say this briefly: if the defendant had said about me that I lack qualifications, that I am unserious or stupid, I would not have filed a lawsuit because of it. That is permissible. However, if the plaintiff claims that I am indeed responsible for the death of my own twin brother, which is a particularly strong connection, of other people close to me, and many other people I didn't know or knew little, or claims that I am mentally ill or that I organized an operation against him that I did not organize in the slightest, these are statements about facts that did not occur and are extremely offensive. In the first case, one could say that it is at the highest level” - said the PiS leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, before the court in Gdańsk.
15:48
Kaczyński:
I critically assess Wałęsa and his qualifications. His presence on the political scene stemmed from the unique situation of late communism. In other circumstances, he would have played no role whatsoever.

The first session of the new term of the Łódź Voivodeship Sejmik is underway. The councillors elected Iwona Koperska from PiS as their chairperson. In this voivodeship, the party holds an independent majority, but in recent days, similar to the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, there have been media reports about a possible split and loss of majority. The election of the voivodeship marshal is also planned, among other items.
As early as this morning, 'Dziennik Łódzki' wrote: - The PiS central office had already formed the future management of the Łódź Voivodeship last week. However, the decision to suspend Marek Matuszewski, a Sejm deputy from Sieradz, from the PiS party and club may mean that PiS in the Łódź Sejmik will not grasp power or will have to change the candidate for the voivodeship marshal. In any case, on the eve of today's first meeting of the new term's Sejmik, the possible scenarios were changing by the hour.
16:16
The Podlasie regional assembly session, during which a new regional marshal will be elected, began after 4 PM. - Regarding the Podlasie Voivodeship, I would like to reassure everyone. It will be very good - Sebastian Łukaszewicz, vice-chairman of the PiS council club and secretary of Podlasie PiS, an advisor to Krzysztof Jurgiel during his tenure at the Ministry of Agriculture, wrote on Twitter. Today, although PiS has a majority in this voivodeship, the candidate from Civic Coalition (KO) was elected as the chairman of the regional assembly.

Today, during the evening voting session, the Sejm will dismiss Marek Jakubiak from the parliamentary committee investigating VAT fraud. Błażej Parda will be appointed in his place. The voting block will commence at 7:00 PM and is scheduled to last until 8:30 PM. Tomorrow morning, the Sejm will elect a new Children's Ombudsman.
16:43
Nominated by PiS, Artur Kosicki received 16 votes and was elected Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. His competitor, Stefan Krajewski, nominated by KO and PSL, received 14 votes.
17:16
The councilors of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Sejmik have elected a Marshal. Andrzej Bętkowski from the Law and Justice (PiS) party has been appointed to this position. 17 councilors voted in favor.

I Lament That We're Debating the Supreme Court Bill for the 7th or 8th Time in a Hasty and Extraordinary Manner. I Don't Know Why We're Doing This. It's Some Kind of Chochol's Dance. Let's Try to Draw Conclusions.
“*I share the opinion of the minister and the government that we are proceeding in this manner, that the act is in force, it is binding law in Poland, but we loyally adhere to the ECJ ruling, which we probably do not agree with. The government will defend its position*” – said Senator Aleksander Bobko from PiS during a session of the Senate Committee on the Rule of Law.
“*My second remark, addressed to ourselves, to our party. I don't understand and I lament that for the 7th or 8th time we are processing this act in a hasty and extraordinary manner. I don't know why we are doing this. It's some kind of Chochol's dance. Let's try to draw conclusions from our experiences so far. This mode of proceeding: 3 hours in the Sejm and to exhaustion, to pain in the Senate, inviting to committee at the last minute, in an inelegant way, I don't know why we are doing this*” – he added.

Wałęsa Presented Himself in Court Today as a Man Sick with Hatred Towards Kaczyński
19:41
The Senate Committee on Human Rights, the Rule of Law, and Petitions has given a positive opinion on the amendments to the Supreme Court Act, recommending no changes be made to the legislation. All senators will address the amendments tomorrow.

Lech Kaczyński Visited Hospital and Spoke with Jarosław Kaczyński Before Flying to Smolensk to Inform Him Mother Was Fine
- I can say that I spoke with Jarosław Kaczyński on April 10th [2010], the day of the Smolensk catastrophe, a few hours after that conversation [between Jarosław Kaczyński and Lech Kaczyński]. I was probably one of the first people Jarosław Kaczyński told about speaking with his brother a little over ten minutes past eight. I remember what Jarosław Kaczyński said on the spot back then. It was a brief conversation. The brothers spoke on the phone very often, practically every day. At that time, the Kaczyński brothers' mother was in the hospital, and Lech Kaczyński visited that hospital before flying to Smolensk and spoke with Jarosław Kaczyński to inform him that nothing bad was happening with their mother and he didn't need to go to the hospital - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

I believe the amendment to the Supreme Court Act will be voted on in the Senate's plenary session tomorrow
- Regarding the Act on the Supreme Court, this matter has already been before the CJEU at the request of the European Commission. The amendment, which was passed yesterday in the Sejm, is being processed today in a Senate committee session. Tomorrow – I believe – it will be voted on in the plenary session [of the Senate]. In our opinion, it fully consumes and exhausts the so-called CJEU safeguard – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

Since We Are 100% Fulfilling the ECJ Safeguards, the European Commission Should Withdraw Its Complaint
- Since we are 100% fulfilling the court's safeguards, in our opinion the European Commission should withdraw its complaint. However, let us remember that the European Commission, and Europe as a whole, is slowly entering an election mode. The European Parliament elections will be held in May next year. The main politician involved in this conflict with Warsaw, Frans Timmermans, is one of the candidates for the head of the EC, and I fear he might treat the conflict with Poland and Hungary as a sort of electoral springboard - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News.

Trzaskowski:
I'm surprised by PJK trying to duel Wałęsa. Wałęsa is incredibly quick and possesses top-tier intellect.
- I am surprised that Jarosław Kaczyński is trying to engage in a duel with Lech Wałęsa, especially a verbal one. It has been known from the very beginning who will lose this duel. Everyone is concentrating on this exchange of words with Lech Wałęsa, who is incredibly quick when it comes to retorts and possesses a top-tier intellect in this regard – said Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Trzaskowski:
I Want to Propose Cooperation with People from Urban Movements
- There will be people who were already here, there will be new people. Besides them, besides the deputy mayors, I want to propose cooperation with people from urban movements. I think this will be a new opening that will be continued in the coming months – said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts after Facts).

Trzaskowski:
I'm a Born Optimist and Hope This Cooperation with the Government Will Work Out Somehow
- I'm not calm. The announcements were what they were, and the question is whether the government will draw the conclusion that Poles cannot be blackmailed. On the other hand, the announcements about rebuilding the Saxon Palace, which is on land owned by the city, you must admit, Madam Editor, doesn't look good. I'm a born optimist and hope that this cooperation with the government will work out somehow – said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- If the rulers say, 'We take full responsibility, we will ensure security.' If the rulers say that if there are racist slogans or shouts, we will not absolve them, and we will agree with the City Hall's motion that such a demonstration must be disbanded, then I see no obstacles. I have nothing against demonstrations, against marches - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- They truly concern the legality of the appointment of the National Council of the Judiciary. There is a fear here that when the Court of Justice responds to the preliminary questions from the Supreme Court, we see that it's not a case of one court acting alone. It turns out there is a commonality of views, a commonality of legal views. The answer to these questions will be: Does the National Council of the Judiciary meet European law standards - said Krzysztof Rączka in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".
20:34
- This law has no bearing on the dispute between Poland and the European Commission. In the sense that the interim measure is self-executing and would have the same effect even if this law were not in place – said Krzysztof Rączka in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (The Tipping Point).

Paruch:
Nothing and no one can justify Wałęsa's behavior
“Nothing and no one can justify Mr. Lech Wałęsa's behavior. This is not a matter of a historical figure standing trial. A man stood there, like any of us. Such words should not be used, nor should facts be stated that have no basis in any source material. This applies to the Smolensk catastrophe as well as, conversely, to Lech Wałęsa's past. Here we have various historical analyses that point to Lech Wałęsa's very strong entanglement with the PRL secret services” - said Prof. Waldemar Paruch from the Center for Strategic Analyses during "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

Paruch:
Without Dispelling the 'Polexit' Narrative and Reaching a Compromise with the European Commission, a Successful Election Campaign, Especially for the European Parliament, is Hard to Imagine
„The decisions taken by the Sejm and those to be made by the Senate are intended to hinder the opposition's efforts to build a false narrative that the current authorities of the Republic of Poland question Poland's membership in the European Union. This was undoubtedly a loud point. In recent days, Civic Platform has capitalized on this. Without dispelling such a narrative and without reaching a compromise with the European Commission, it is difficult to imagine a successful election campaign, especially for the European Parliament” said Prof. Waldemar Paruch in "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.
