PO, Nowoczesna, PSL, and SLD Reach "Political Agreement" for Alliances in 9 Regional Assemblies. Zgorzelski: Next Year Brings Further Elections Where This Coalition Can Prove Itself

Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska), Polish People's Party (Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe), and the Democratic Left Alliance (Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej) have reached a political agreement to form joint coalitions in 9 regional assemblies (sejmiki wojewódzkie) across Poland. This agreement will be based on programmatic foundations that are being negotiated regionally, and on political understandings that will also take shape in regionally concluded coalition agreements. Such agreements have already been signed in two regions: Opole and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships. In the coming days, agreements are planned for the remaining 7 assemblies. We are convinced that together we will create a good, needed coalition for local government in Poland, one that is open to Europe, which will effectively utilize current EU funds and prepare for the utilization of the new European budget” - said Robert Tyszkiewicz from Civic Platform at a press conference in the Sejm. “The KO, PSL, and SLD coalition is functioning across the entire country. We can add further regional agreements, as an agreement has also been reached in the Masovian Voivodeship. Next year brings further elections where this coalition will be able to prove itself in battle” - added Piotr Zgorzelski from PSL.
