Tuesday's Political Agenda: Another Constitutional Tribunal Hearing on "Thirtyfold" Payments, VAT Committee Hearing

O 10:00, the Constitutional Tribunal will consider President Andrzej Duda's motion to examine the constitutionality of the amendment to the Act on the Social Insurance System, concerning the abolition of the upper limit for contributions to ZUS (Social Insurance Institution).

In January, PAD decided to refer the act to the Constitutional Tribunal, citing concerns about "adherence to the standards of the legislative process." The Tribunal already addressed the motion in October but decided to postpone the hearing until November 13th.

Also at 10:00, the Sejm's VAT committee will hear from Michał Kanownik, the President of the Management Board of the Union of Importers and Manufacturers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment for the RTV and IT Sectors - Digital Poland.

Dera on GW Publication: Experience Teaches Us to Wait and See How the Situation Develops

- No, I didn't feel like it was a scandal. I read the KNF's statement, in which it distances itself from any scandal. I'm not surprised. One of the KNF's tasks is to meet with entities that have serious problems. Leszek Czarnecki has serious problems stemming from the GetBack situation, all those financial instruments, and in my opinion, this is an attempt to defend his financial assets, to put it mildly. My experience teaches me that what is loud at the beginning often turns out to be nothing, while what is unclear at first can later take on a completely different dimension. So, my experience teaches me to wait and see how the situation develops – stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:55

Dera on GW's Publication: "Let's Wait for the Findings on What Actually Happened Here"
- Hiring a lawyer in a situation where there is a restructuring and it is the KNF's duty to supervise the restructuring process - I don't see any problem with that, at this moment. Of course, in a situation where no specific amounts are mentioned - stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". - Let's wait for the findings on what actually happened here. Were these normal supervisory activities, where you assign your lawyer to oversee the restructuring process, or was it a different attempt - he added. - He is the President's representative [Zdzisław Sokal], he is the head of the Bank Guarantee Fund. A person who has been known for many years, operates in the public finance sector. The President trusts this man - he continued.

07:59

Dera:

I Personally Believe National Holidays Should Be the State's Domain

- One can say there is satisfaction that everything went safely, with dignity, beautifully. I personally believe that national holidays should be the domain of the state. That there should be no negotiations with associations that are also trying to appropriate November 11th as their own – stated Andrzej Dera in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:03

Dera:

ONR and All-Polish Youth Did Not Fulfill Their Commitments

- There were such arrangements, and the association committed to them, but they did not fulfill those commitments. Of course, they [failed]. They did not keep those arrangements, because it was indeed supposed to be white and red, and I will say this: it was 99.9% white and red, beautiful, dignified, and there was a group that wanted to manifest its organizational affiliation - stated Andrzej Dera in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- They [ONR and All-Polish Youth] did not fulfill the commitments to which they committed themselves - emphasized the presidential minister.

Bielan on GW Publication: PM Ordered Special Services to Investigate and Verify Information. He Also Asked KNF Head for Explanations

- The Prime Minister, upon learning of the entire matter, ordered the special services to take up this case and verify this information. He also asked the head of the Financial Supervision Authority to immediately provide explanations on this matter. If the law has been broken in this case, severe consequences will be drawn against all those who did it - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

08:15

Bielan on GW Publication: If the facts are as presented by the newspaper, they will necessitate drawing consequences

- The text is very critical, but let's remember that this is one side's version. The side that is in sharp dispute with the Financial Supervision Authority. Behind all of this stands Mr. Czarnecki's lawyer, attorney Giertych, who is a politically involved figure. If the facts are as presented by the newspaper, they will necessitate drawing consequences. Now, these facts must be verified by the appropriate services - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti".

08:42

Bielan:

I'd like for there to be one March on November 11th next year

- I would very much like that [for there to be one March on November 11th next year]. I would like everyone to march on that day, regardless of their political views, religion, race, or political divisions - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

08:42

Bielan on Tusk's Words: I Don't Recall Such a Disgraceful Statement from a Polish Politician on the Eve of Independence Day

- I am glad that [Donald Tusk] has started to backtrack on those words. I don't recall such a disgraceful statement from a Polish politician on the eve of Independence Day. Donald Tusk appealed for unity during this holiday, and then he came to Poland and calls whom what? The ruling party? 5 million people who voted for them – stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti".

08:46

Brudziński:

Anyone Calling These 250,000 People Supporters of National Associations Either Has an Emotional Problem or is Severely Out of Touch with Reality

Anyone who wants to call these 250,000 people sympathizers or supporters of national associations either has an emotional problem or is very detached from reality. 250,000 people, with 6,000 at the peak of the event around the National Stadium, meaning 244,000 people have no identification with these gentlemen,” Minister Joachim Brudziński said on Radio Zet.

To say that these are activists or sympathizers is an insult to those patriots who came to the march,” he added.

08:50

Brudziński:

Nationalists can be immensely grateful to the President and Prime Minister for politically ennobling them by inviting them to this march

These gentlemen [nationalists] can be immensely grateful to the President and Prime Minister for politically ennobling them by inviting them to this march. To say that this was a deal or an agreement between PiS and the nationalists is an insult to 250,000 patriots who came to the march from all over Poland” – said Minister Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:48

Bielan:

We Have One Face. We Don't Change It Depending on the Campaign Type

- The election campaign will formally begin in February, probably in reality at the beginning of next year, so we still have a few weeks. At the moment, on one hand, coalitions are being built in regional assemblies, not only, but also in districts, and on the other hand, a special audit is being prepared, both of campaign activities and the work of structures in the field, and this audit will probably take several good weeks - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus. He added:

"We have one face. We do not change this face depending on the type of campaign. Of course, we must conduct the election campaign in such a way as to decisively win the European elections. These are difficult elections due to low turnout. Less than 24% 4.5 years ago, with very large turnout disparities. Very low turnout in rural areas, relatively high in large cities. We must draw conclusions from this, because the European elections, regardless of the fact that they are important in themselves, will simultaneously take place very close to the elections for the Sejm and Senate. So a good result in the European elections will give wind to the sails of the winner or the group that achieves such a good result, and vice versa. A group that suffers a defeat will have trouble recovering from such a loss in the campaign for the Sejm and Senate."

09:53

Bielan:

I am convinced PiS, having won nine regional assemblies, will co-govern most of them in Poland
- We will be able to say [in how many regional assemblies PiS will govern] with full certainty only at the moment when the boards and marshals of these assemblies are appointed. This will happen in the third decade of November. I am convinced that PiS, which won nine regional assemblies, will co-govern, I believe, in the majority of regional assemblies in Poland. Yes, I don't want to mention a specific number, but these talks are going very well - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:03

Kierwiński on GW Publication: 'If the reports about this affair are true, then we are dealing with a major scandal'
"If the reports about this affair are true, then we are dealing with a major scandal, and the Chairman of the KNF should resign or be dismissed. I hope this matter will be quickly investigated and not swept under the rug. The KNF is an institution that is supposed to act in the interest of each of us, everyone who uses banking services. If the head of the KNF were to be guided by some strange interests, rather than the good of the banking system, meaning the customers, it would mean he was wrongly chosen. And for that, PiS bears responsibility. To be clear, I believe it is not good that recordings have become a common weapon in political struggle, but if there is a recording, and it is true, then it is difficult to say that the affair does not exist." - stated Marcin Kierwiński in an interview with Krzysztof Ziemiec on "Political Quarter of an Hour" on TVP1.

10:15

Lubnauer on KNF Affair: A Picture of a Corrupt and Oppressive State is Emerging. Until now, only the Bolsheviks and their successors tried to forcibly nationalize private property
"From the conversation between Leszek Czarnecki and the head of the Financial Supervision Authority, a picture of a corrupt and oppressive state is emerging. Until now, only the Bolsheviks and their successors tried to forcibly nationalize private property. From today, 'Zdzisław has his plan' will be a slogan that any private entrepreneur in Poland may fear. This state has crossed a certain boundary. In this situation, we appeal to all state services and institutions for energetic action to clarify this situation. We simultaneously appeal to Mr. Marek Chrzanowski for his immediate resignation from the position of head of KNF" - said the leader of Nowoczesna, Katarzyna Lubnauer, at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:51

Petru Appeals to Other Clubs to File for a Parliamentary Inquiry into the KNF: "It's Important to Investigate Where the 40 Million Was Meant to Go: To PiS or to a Faction within PiS"
"Mr. Chrzanowski certainly did not act alone. It is important to investigate within what kind of arrangement this 40 million zloty bribe was meant to go: whether to PiS, or to a faction within PiS. Mr. Chrzanowski was nominated to the Monetary Policy Council by two PiS senators: Mr. Bierecki and Mr. Karczewski. It would be good to check if they were aware that such a corrupt proposal had been made and the question is whether they were involved in this affair" - said Ryszard Petru at a press conference in the Sejm. "I would expect the Prime Minister today at his meeting with the head of the KNF to force his resignation. The Prime Minister should suggest that the head of the KNF should resign. According to the law, the Prime Minister cannot dismiss him" - he added.  Petru is also appealing to other opposition parties to file a motion to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate this matter.

11:16

Brudziński on Zieliński's Resignation: I Don't Foresee It. I'm Not Used to Hiding Behind My Deputies.
"I do not foresee a resignation, or a request for Minister Zieliński's resignation. I am not accustomed to hiding behind the backs of my deputies. [Zieliński's resignation] could create the impression that everything that has happened in the Polish police – this unprecedented situation since '89 in recent months, during the time I served as head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration – is me cowardly hiding behind people's backs," Minister Joachim Brudziński said in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

11:52

Civic Platform Gives Prime Minister and Kaczyński 24 Hours to Propose Investigative Committee. Neumann on KNF Actions: Like Vito Corleone. That's How Gangsters Operate
“Today we know about an affair that is worlds bigger [than previous ones] and shows the gangster-like system of operation of this government. We know that one of the government representatives responsible for financial market supervision is trying, through various legal tricks and regulations, to bankrupt a Polish bank in order to take it over for a symbolic one zloty. Another government representative tells the bank's head that for a small fee of several dozen million zlotys, he can get rid of these troubles and will be safe. Poles who have seen the film ‘The Godfather’ saw how Vito Corleone collected such a fee for protecting shops on the streets of New York. That’s how gangsters operate. One threatens to take someone’s company, and the other, the good guy, says: if you pay, you’ll keep this company” - said the head of the Civic Platform club, Sławomir Neumann, at a press conference in the Sejm.

We expect, we demand from Mateusz Morawiecki, who is full of platitudes about an honest state, from President Kaczyński, who in every second word talks about an honest state and prosecuting corruption and thieves. We do not want to submit a motion for an investigative committee ourselves today. We expect these two men, Kaczyński and Morawiecki, who have so often spoken about an honest state and prosecuting thieves, to propose an investigative committee themselves, just as Leszek Miller did when, as Prime Minister, he proposed an investigative committee during the Rywin affair” - he added. Neumann expects PiS to submit the motion today or tomorrow.

11:57

Dworczyk:

PM Summoned Head of KNF and Minister Kamiński for Tomorrow

Michał Dworczyk, Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, announced that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has summoned the head of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) and Minister Mariusz Kamiński for a meeting tomorrow.

The announcement was made via a post on social media:

This significant political development marks a new chapter in the regional governance of this important Polish province.

The agreement, finalized after extensive negotiations, aims to establish a stable majority in the regional assembly, enabling effective decision-making and the implementation of key development projects for Lower Silesia. Both parties have expressed their commitment to working collaboratively to address the region's challenges and capitalize on its opportunities.

Mazurek Responds to Neumann: The Point of an Investigative Committee is When State Organs Fail. Here, It's Clear They Are Functioning

- The Chairman [Neumann] seems unaware of the circumstances under which an investigative committee is appointed. Let me remind you – the point of appointing an investigative committee is when state organs are not functioning. Here, it is evident that state organs are functioning. The prosecutor's office and services are dealing with the matter. The head of the KNF was immediately summoned back to Poland. I know he will be here tomorrow morning, and a meeting between the Prime Minister and the coordinator of special services is planned. So, for now, there is no accusation that the services are not working. Let's wait for the outcome of tomorrow's talks – stated Beata Mazurek at a briefing in the Sejm.

13:56

Mazurek:

Unlike Civic Platform Politicians, We Don't Sweep Anything Under the Rug
We differ from Civic Platform politicians in that we do not sweep any matter under the rug. We want this explanation and we expect these explanations to be given tomorrow. However, depending on what they are, we will make decisions on what to do next – stated Beata Mazurek at a briefing in the Sejm.

14:01

Mazurek:

Current Regulations Do Not Allow Direct Dismissal of KNF Head

- You are all perfectly aware that, based on current regulations, the head of the KNF cannot be directly dismissed. If circumstances arise where, let's assume, these accusations are confirmed, or if the explanations are sufficient, we will make decisions moving forward. Dismissal under current regulations is impossible, so in my assessment, the options are either resignation or a change in regulations - stated Beata Mazurek during a briefing in the Sejm.

14:10

Mazurek:

No Decision Yet on Candidate for Children's Ombudsman

- I know nothing about that - stated Beata Mazurek at a briefing in the Sejm, when asked if a draft amendment to the Supreme Court Act would be ready this week.

- We have until November 15th, and we will certainly present such a candidate - she continued, when asked about the candidate for the Children's Ombudsman.

When asked about media reports suggesting that Konstanty Radziwiłł might be the PiS candidate, she replied: - I am aware that such information has emerged. I do not confirm it. I neither confirm nor deny anything. - Today, there is no decision on who will be the candidate for the Children's Ombudsman - she added.

14:27

Horała:

If the accusations are confirmed, I see no future for the KNF Chairman in state bodies
- The relevant services must clarify the matter. I won't speculate about further steps now, when we really only know as much about the whole situation as we do from one press article. I know that services have been mobilized and the prosecutor's office is working on it. I think that within the next few days, perhaps, we will know something concrete on this matter, because for now, we only know what someone told a journalist who wrote the article – stated Marcin Horała in the Sejm. - If these accusations are confirmed, then I see no future [for the KNF Chairman] in any state bodies – added the PiS MP.

14:39

Schetyna on the KNF Affair: Pure Corruption. These are the Matters That Bring Down Governments in Democratic Countries. An Investigative Commission with Opposition Participation is the Best Idea

Pure corruption. This is the Financial Supervision Authority – an organization that is supposed to guarantee the deposits of Poles. Here it is implicated in a corrupt proposal. The author is a person nominated by Prime Minister Szydło. This is a scandal. These are the matters that bring down governments in democratic countries. I hope, I am convinced, that Prime Minister Morawiecki will react to this issue. The best idea today is to establish an investigative commission, also with the participation of opposition MPs, to familiarize ourselves with these matters” – said the Civic Platform leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, in an interview with TVN24.

Confining this solely to the prosecutorial level, which is being conducted by a politician from the ruling party, is insufficient. This matter is outrageous, and we must hear the response and the reasons for such a scandal” – he added.

"Sandcastles'. Konrad Piasecki's Book Premieres Wednesday, Author Meeting on Friday

Tomorrow, Konrad Piasecki's book "Zamki na piasku. 20 obrazków z życia dziennikarza" (Sandcastles. 20 Vignettes from a Journalist's Life) will appear in bookstores. On this occasion, Burda Książki publishing house and Faktyczny Dom Kultury (Actual House of Culture) invite you to an author meeting with the journalist – this Friday at 7:00 PM at Faktyczny Dom Kultury in Warsaw.

- After more than 25 years of journalistic struggles with Polish politics and its protagonists, after thousands of hours spent in parliamentary and government offices, corridors, and back alleys, after tens of thousands of conversations and interviews with the most important figures of domestic politics, Konrad Piasecki describes what he has lived through, what he has seen, what he has experienced, and what he thinks about what has happened around us over these years. It is a story full of behind-the-scenes accounts and anecdotes about the pivotal moments of the last quarter-century from the perspective of someone who observed them up close – announces the publisher.

"I believe in journalism. I believe in journalism in the old, conservative style. I believe that news, information, reportage, interviews, and investigative pieces, not permeated by a simple, crude ideological or political message, still bring pleasure to both those who create them and those who receive them."

16:08

Dworczyk:

Decision on PM's meeting with Chrzanowski this evening. Resignation, out of concern for the credibility and dignity of the office, was the only sensible option

The decision regarding the meeting [with Chrzanowski] will be made by the Prime Minister this evening. It is very good that this resignation has been put on the table, because in the current situation, out of concern for the credibility and dignity of the office, it was the only sensible way out. Regardless of the resignation submitted, the situation described by the media must be clarified 100%. Depending on the findings, further steps will be taken” - said Minister Michał Dworczyk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

16:15

Dworczyk on KNF Investigative Committee: A Sphere of Politics, or Rather Politicking. Investigative Committees are Appointed When State Organs Fail to Handle a Situation
“We are entering a sphere of politics, or rather not politics, but politicking. Every parliamentarian, even one with as short a tenure as mine, knows that investigative committees are appointed when state organs are unable to handle a situation. Overnight, we learned about the charges against the head of the KNF. The Prime Minister demanded immediate explanations, summoned him for a meeting the next day, and tasked the services and the prosecutor's office with gathering information on the matter. For now, we are dealing with press reports” – said Minister Michał Dworczyk in the Sejm, when asked about the establishment of an investigative committee regarding the KNF.

16:36

Ziobro on the KNF: Proceedings will be conducted with great intensity and determination. We will not look at party affiliations, influence, positions, or the vast wealth of those involved in the investigations.
The proceedings, one could say, are already underway at the Silesian Branch of the National Public Prosecutor's Office and will be conducted with great intensity and determination. We will not look at party affiliations, influence, positions, or the vast wealth of individuals who are interested in the subject matter of these investigations – stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference. I have issued orders for a very intensive investigation and I will personally supervise it, demanding that it provide an answer to the question regarding the committed crimes – Ziobro added.

16:42

Dworczyk on Coalition with Non-Partisan Local Government Officials: This Agreement is Not Only a Chance for the Development of Lower Silesia, but Also Proof that in Poland, Beyond Political Divides, We Can Discuss What is Good for the Region
- After long discussions, we have successfully signed a coalition agreement in Lower Silesia today. Thanks to this, in the Lower Silesian Sejmik, Law and Justice and Non-Partisan Local Government Officials will take responsibility for forming the board - said Michał Dworczyk at a press conference. - This agreement is not only a chance for the development of Lower Silesia, but also proof that in Poland, beyond political divides, we can discuss what is good for the region, what is good for the residents – Dworczyk added.

18:37

Dera:

I saw Tusk walk onto the podium and stand where he stood. There were no nameplates on the podium where we stood indicating who should stand where.

- I saw Mr. Donald Tusk walk onto the podium and stand where he stood. I can say one thing. There were no nameplates on the podium where we stood indicating who should stand where. Everyone stood where someone pointed them, or where they themselves wanted to stand - said Andrzej Dera in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa Rozmowa" (Afternoon Conversation).

19:34

Dworczyk:

The meeting ordered by the Prime Minister is beginning. He is meeting with heads of services and the Minister of Justice

- This meeting [Prime Minister Morawiecki and Marek Chrzanowski's tomorrow] is now becoming irrelevant. However, the meeting ordered by the Prime Minister is starting right now. He is meeting with the heads of services and the Minister of Justice. In the morning, after receiving information, currently through the media, the Prime Minister instructed the heads of services and the prosecution to gather information that could be collected within one day. This meeting is starting right now, where the services will present the collected materials - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

19:38

Dworczyk:

PM's Meeting with Chrzanowski Cancelled
This matter will be thoroughly investigated, to put it colloquially. Unlike our predecessors, we do not cover up these kinds of situations, we do not sweep them under the rug. There will be no preferential treatment here - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News. The meeting [of Prime Minister Morawiecki] with Chrzanowski was cancelled because, following the submission of his resignation, it is now pointless - added the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

19:46

Dworczyk:

Proposing an Investigative Committee at This Stage is Absolutely Irresponsible

- Proposing the establishment of an investigative committee at this stage is absolutely irresponsible. A committee is typically established when state institutions are not functioning. In this case, the Prime Minister, the prosecutor's office, and the services acted swiftly after this information emerged - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

20:26

Bielan:

Chrzanowski's Stance Was Bad, and It's Good He Resigned

- Assuming this recording is authentic and has not been manipulated, I think that the stance of Mr. Marek Chrzanowski, until today the Chairman of the Financial Supervision Authority, was bad, and it is good that he resigned - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program "Kropka nad i".

20:36

Bielan Questions Why the Matter Was Held By Czarnecki, Then Giertych

- We need to ask the question. Why was this matter held by Mr. Czarnecki, and then by Mr. Giertych, because as I understand it, he has known about this matter since May. Was there an attempt to blackmail Mr. Chrzanowski? - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

20:43

Bielan:

PM Learned of the Matter Yesterday Evening, from the Media

- The Prime Minister learned of the matter, as far as I know, yesterday evening - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's program "Kropka nad i".

- Where did he learn from? – the journalist pressed.

- As I understand it, from the media, but you would have to ask the Prime Minister – Bielan replied.

POLISH POLITICS DAY: PM Mobilizes Special Services, Mazovian Marshal to Serve Six Months Before EU Election Bid, Lower Silesia Once a Civic Platform Stronghold

-- 300POLITYKA LIVEBLOG:

Bielan: Chrzanowski's stance is unacceptable, and it was right for him to resign.

Dworczyk: Proposing a parliamentary inquiry commission at this stage is utterly unserious.

Dworczyk: The Prime Minister's meeting with Chrzanowski has been canceled.

Dworczyk: A briefing ordered by the Prime Minister is commencing. He is meeting with the heads of security services and the Minister of Justice.

Dera: I saw Tusk walk onto the tribune and stand where he stood. There were no names indicating where each person should stand on the tribune where we were.

Dera on the KNF (Financial Supervision Authority): I certainly would not meet one-on-one with a person who appears in documents as the owner of business entities that led to a serious scandal.

Dworczyk on a coalition with the Non-Party Local Government Officials (Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy): This agreement is not only an opportunity for the development of Lower Silesia but also proof that in Poland, we can discuss what is good for a region above political divisions.

Ziobro on the KNF: The proceedings will be conducted very intensively, with determination. We will not look at party affiliations, influences, positions, or the significant wealth of individuals involved in the investigations.

Dworczyk: The decision regarding the Prime Minister's meeting with Chrzanowski will be made this evening. Resignation, in order to safeguard the credibility and seriousness of the office, was the only sensible course of action.

The compromise was even more possible because the Local Government Officials will receive the position of regional assembly marshal and two seats in the executive board, which has a total of five seats. -- In Poland, we can talk above political divisions - Dworczyk. -- PIS IS NOT HIDING ITS EUPHORIA - KKZ: PiS is not hiding its euphoria because it can show that it does have coalition-building capabilities, but even the local government officials themselves have no illusions that this is not about ideals but about positions and money. -- CEZARY PRZYBYLSKI: Many tasks will be very difficult to implement without cooperation with the government. -- With such gifts from the government, the Civic Coalition had no chance. On Tuesday morning, Grzegorz Schetyna was talking to the leaders of the Non-Party Local Government Officials, but he heard that the talks were suspended - KKZ. -- GRZEGORZ SCHETYNA: Tangible price, concrete amounts, concrete sums, and therefore an agreement. What PiS is doing is political corruption. Local government officials are being corrupted. -- Already the day after the elections, government emissaries went to Wrocław with the question – what can they do for the Non-Party Local Government Officials, because it depended on them who would govern in the Lower Silesian region. On Tuesday, after more than 3 weeks – they made their choice - KKZ. -- The decision of the local government officials means that PiS can add a seventh voivodeship to its list of those it will govern. The fate of another coalition is being decided in Silesia. There, cooperation between the Civic Coalition with SLD and PSL is very likely. But it is enough for one PSL councilor to switch to PiS's side, and the coalition will be different. And PiS is enticing across Poland - KKZ. -- ADAM LIPIŃSKI: I would like to appeal to the leadership of the PSL not to block the possibility of PSL politicians entering into such agreements. -- MAZOVIA IS KEY FOR THE CIVIC COALITION AND PIS - KKZ: Mazovia is key for PiS and the Civic Coalition, and everything there depends on the PSL. Specifically, on Adam Struzik himself, who has been governing Mazovia in coalition with the Platform for 17 years. -- The Platform has no choice. They agreed that Adam Struzik would remain marshal, even though the Peasants' Party lost half of its previous mandates - KKZ. -- MARCIN KIERWIŃSKI: During negotiations, there are various contentious issues that we need to clarify.... -- KKZ: Such as? -- KIERWIŃSKI: These include matters concerning the executive board and the presidium of the regional assembly. -- PiS has not yet ruled out the possibility of swaying some councilors to its side. As the opposition claims – by various methods. Katarzyna Lubnauer cited a situation where one councilor from the Modern party was offered a position in an energy company in exchange for switching political blocs. Everything will become clear on Monday, at the first session of the regional assembly. Adam Struzik is to be marshal, but only for six months. Afterward, he is to run for the European Parliament on a joint opposition list - KKZ. ***** TVP WIADOMOSCI (NEWS) -- PIS WILL GOVERN JOINTLY WITH THE NON-PARTY LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN LOWER SILESIA - announcement: The coalition in the regional assembly was formed after over a dozen days of negotiations. This is the first such agreement reached by PiS after the local government elections. -- UNTIL RECENTLY, LOWER SILESIA, ALONG WITH THE TRI-CITY AREA, WAS CONSIDERED A POLITICAL BASTION OF THE CIVIC PLATFORM - Dominik Cierpioł: This is now changing in the case of Lower Silesia. -- LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FROM PSL ARE ALSO NOT RULING OUT COOPERATION WITH THE COALITION - Cierpioł. -- LOWER SILESIA IS THE 7TH VOIVODESHIP IN WHICH PIS WILL GOVERN - Cierpioł. -- MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE ON A VISIT TO WASHINGTON, WHERE POLAND IS LOBBYING FOR THE SO-CALLED FORT TRUMP - announcement. -- THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE DID NOT SHOW SIGNIFICANT INTEREST IN THE PROBLEM OF VAT FRAUD IN THE ELECTRONICS MARKET. Another hearing before the VAT inquiry commission - announcement. -- RESIGNATION OF THE KNF CHAIRMAN - announcement: The Prime Minister accepted Marek Chrzanowski's resignation, and is awaiting explanations regarding the "GW" reports about an attempted bribery. -- THE MATTER WILL BE INVESTIGATED. THE PRIME MINISTER NOTIFIED THE SERVICES ABOUT THE MATTER, AND MINISTER ZIOBRO HAS ORDERED THE INITIATION OF AN INVESTIGATION - Damian Diaz. -- DESPITE THIS, THE CIVIC PLATFORM DEMANDS THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INQUIRY COMMISSION - Diaz: Politicians from ZP believe there is no such need because state institutions have acted. -- THE PRESIDENT OF THE SUPREME COURT, HEADING THE DISCIPLINARY CHAMBER, HAS APPOINTED 11 NEW PRESIDENTS OF DISCIPLINARY COURTS AT THE APPELLATE COURTS - announcement: The Ministry of Justice emphasizes that nothing will be swept under the rug anymore. -- BOTH SIDES DECLARE A WILLINGNESS TO DIALOGUE: THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION AND THE POLISH GOVERNMENT - Konrad Wąż. -- BEFORE THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS, SCHETYNA THREATENED POLEXIT, WHO HIMSELF RECENTLY PROPOSED A REFERENDUM IN THE BRITISH STYLE - Wąż. -- ON THE EVE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY, DONALD TUSK USED THE OPPOSITION'S NARRATIVE - Wąż. -- POLAND'S EXIT FROM THE EU IS OUT OF THE QUESTION – ASSURE THE PRESIDENT, PRIME MINISTER, AND THE PIS LEADER - Wąż.

Brudziński on Voivodeship Assembly Coalitions: The Ball Is in Play

"In the remaining voivodeships, the ball is in play. This information [about the coalition] is very good news for all residents of Lower Silesia, because it shows that there are local government officials for whom the interests and well-being of the residents are placed above the particular, all-out war" - said Minister Joachim Brudziński on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

Brudziński on KNF Affair: Opposition Will Demand Resignation of Government, Prime Minister. I Am Certain of It

The opposition will demand the resignation of the government, the prime minister. I am certain of it. Only in these recordings, published by Gazeta Wyborcza, can one very clearly see how the head of the KNF distances himself from the Prime Minister, from the Ministry of Finance. This also shows that the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance were very principled in their actions” - Minister Joachim Brudziński said on “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info.
