PMM:

There Will Be One Big, Wonderful March

- There will be one big, wonderful march, and if there are any incidents, well. It's like in any city in Poland or town in Poland, something might happen somewhere, but that doesn't mean that city, Warsaw or Ostrołęka, is a bad city. If there's an incident, an excess, that's how it should be treated - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.

- A compromise has been reached here. It will be a safe march, and at the same time full of joy, because regardless of what various provocateurs might do, it will be a large, multi-thousand march of white and red hearts, flags - he added. As PMM said, there is only joy in his heart, because these circumstances are a very happy time. - After years of bondage, we were able to regain our freedom. Today, we can build our state ourselves, more justly - he stated.

08:11

PM:

Disagreement is Normal in Democracy, but the Temperature of Debate Needs to be Lowered
Disagreement is a normal part of democracy. There's nothing to be offended by, but we still need to lower the temperature of this disagreement, and I look to the future with immense optimism, stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.

08:15

PM Morawiecki: Poland's strong position in Europe is my primary goal. We are and will remain part of the EU.

- Some are clearly always looking for differences, others are trying to build local Poland, local roads, the dignity of our families, but also jobs, and decreasing unemployment. This is my primary goal, i.e., Poland's strong position in Europe. The EU is a Polish project. We are part of the EU, we will be part of the EU, because we believe that together with the EU we can truly compete better in the whole world now, because it is such a great challenge + these elements of security - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.

08:19

PM Morawiecki on November 11th: I Wish This Day Were Truly a Day of Unity

- I invite everyone to the march, to the ceremonies. I already invited them on September 1st at Westerplatte. I wish this day were truly a day of unity. If some have forgotten about this, are still trying to inflame the situation, then we forgive them - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a conversation with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.

08:24

PMM:

Anyone Talking About Poland Leaving the EU Harms Poland
  • A strong EU is the foundation of a strong Polish economy. Today, the foundation of Polish independence is a strong transatlantic alliance. A strong EU, of course, but above all, one cannot forget that a strong state, efficient institutions, ones that can provide social programs, as we have done, is what makes the economy and society one, and then a strong, sovereign homeland is built – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.
  • Anyone who talks about Poland leaving the EU harms Poland. I appeal to everyone not to make such various statements, completely unsubstantiated by reality, because they are simply various kinds of delusions and phantasmagoria. In reality, nobody is aiming for this. We are in favor of Poland pursuing its interests, and it pursues them within the framework of the EU – PMM added.

08:31

PM on Dispute with the EU: By November 19th, We Will Present Very Concrete Steps We Intend to Take
In my opinion, we are today on a good path for this dispute [over the courts with the EU] to fade away, and I believe that in the coming months, we will find a way to resolve this dispute. The European Parliament elections are in May next year, and in the near future, I hope we will reach an understanding even better than before, because I would like to remind you that we have already reached agreements in many aspects, and for some, we are highly praised - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat.

By November 19th, we will present certain very concrete steps that we intend to take. I hope they will be met with a positive reception. Compromise requires certain concessions from both sides. We will show what we have already done, what we can potentially do, and what we are willing to do so as not to violate the reforms of the judiciary, because 80% of Poles agree that the judiciary requires deep reform - added PMM.

08:39

PMM:

Let's Not Undermine All These Good Things That Have Happened
Let's not undermine all these good things that have happened, and I can promise that we are working to ensure that in six months, a year, and two years there will be even more good programs, simply because we have shown that the state's finances can be managed well, that there are funds for everything, that the situation is not as the previous finance minister and the previous prime minister stated during our predecessors' time, that there was no money. It was buried somewhere, they laughed about it and didn't want this money to serve the people. We are committed to slowly, but as quickly as possible, simultaneously improving the standard of living for Poles to a European level – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat, referencing Donald Tusk's words.

09:07

Schetyna Announces a Great March on November 11, 2019:

Poland Can Be a Community.
Today we honor a great day, the day of regaining independence. This is a great remembrance of Polish history, of Marshal Piłsudski, Daszyński, Witos, Moraczewski, Paderewski. Those great figures, thanks to whom we can today say: we exist, we live in an independent Poland. It is a symbol of victory, success, but also of solidarity and prudence. Back then, Polish politicians knew how to be together. Today, a hundred years after those days, after that day, Polish politics is divided and quarrelsome. We cannot celebrate together. Today, the streets of Poland, of Wrocław, of Warsaw, will be occupied by those who repel the European community, who live by hatred and animosity. We want to be and we are together today. We want to say that in a year, on November 11, 2019, a great, common march will begin from here, where we will all be present, where we will all say: Poland can be a community, a community in the EU, of proud people who remember their history, but who always want to unite, not divide - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at a joint briefing with Donald Tusk.

09:15

Tusk:

Forgive us, Poland, for arguing about you daily, but today, on your birthday, we all know one thing: We love you, Poland!
- Today, November 11th, on its hundredth birthday, I wish our independent Republic of Poland, and all our compatriots, another 100 years, and even more, in happiness and peace. I know that on a daily basis we argue amongst ourselves about the shape of the Republic of Poland, about the future of our state. And I know that sometimes too intensely. So forgive us, Poland. But I also know today, I feel it particularly strongly, that what connects us is much stronger and much more important, because that is you, Poland. On this birthday, this Polish birthday, I would like to say the simplest words. Let's not be ashamed of these simplest words today. We love you, Poland - stated Donald Tusk at a joint briefing with Grzegorz Schetyna.

11:38

Arłukowicz:

Tusk Did Not Cross Any Boundary Whatsoever in His Statement About Bolsheviks
I am a proponent of speaking to people directly. Donald Tusk did not cross any boundary whatsoever in his statement [about Bolsheviks], and in fact, he said what many of us think and discuss – stated Bartosz Arłukowicz on TVN24's "Kawa na ławę".

11:51

Zgorzelski:

A United Opposition Project for the EP Elections is Most Likely Possible

- Most likely, a United Opposition project for these elections [to the EP] is possible, and consequently, it could be another electoral sequence where the result will be surprising for those who unite, because there is always such a bonus - stated Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24's "Kawa na ławę".

12:35

President Duda: In Such an Amazing Way, We Can Pay Tribute to Those to Whom We Owe a Free, Independent, Sovereign Poland

- Thank you for this beautiful ceremony, that you listened to the appeal, that you came with white and red banners. That there is a sea of white and red flags. That in such an amazing way, we can pay tribute to those to whom we owe a free, independent, sovereign Poland. Those who regained it in 1918, who later fought to secure its borders, defended it in 1939, fought in the underground to regain it. Then they did not agree with the communist Soviet yoke and continued to fight. They died. Those who took to the streets to protest, to demand decent living conditions, work, wages, and ultimately, simply freedom. Those who died and suffered so that we could regain Poland and thanks to whom we regained it. Today we have it, and the white and red flags can freely flutter above us and we can joyfully sing the Dombrowski Mazurka - stated President Andrzej Duda during the ceremony for the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.

12:39

Duda:

Squabbles Never Serve the Building of a Strong State. The Second Polish Republic Learned This Too

- Squabbles never serve the building of a strong state. Squabbles hinder it. The Second Polish Republic, which unfortunately, after just 21 years, was defeated by Soviet and Hitlerite invaders, by Russians and Germans, also learned this. How difficult it was afterwards to return to a free Poland, to regain independence – stated President Andrzej Duda during the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.

12:44

PAD:

Under the White and Red Banner, There is Room for All of Us, Regardless of Our Views
- I am convinced that under the white and red banner, there is room for all of us, regardless of our views. Because in everyone, I deeply believe this, there is love for the homeland, for an independent and sovereign Poland. I appeal once again: let us be together to build it - stated President Andrzej Duda during the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.

12:48

President Duda: Inaugurating the Reconstruction of the Saxon Palace

- I would like the reconstruction of the Saxon Palace, which we are inaugurating here today, to be a symbol of this return. I would like the palace to stand again, to be a visible sign of this growing Poland. I would like it to be a public building that every one of my compatriots can also see from the inside and in which they can attend to their various matters - stated President Andrzej Duda during the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence.

Prime Minister at a picnic at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister: We are trying to build consensus, compromise beyond divisions

- I am convinced that regardless of where anyone comes from, we are happy to have a free Poland. This is the basic condition for Poland to become stronger, happier, and wealthier - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the Family Picnic "100th Anniversary of Independence". He added:

"Today, we can arrange our home ourselves more justly, more effectively. With this celebration, we confirm our capabilities, our outlook to the future. This celebration is also a great commitment to the heroes of 100 years ago."

- We are trying to build consensus, compromise beyond divisions. When the entire society shares certain goals, the greatest value and strength are born, which we can utilize in the coming years - said the Prime Minister.

Tusk and Graś Visit Miller

The provided link is a tweet from Leszek Miller. The tweet itself is: "Przez chwilę myślałem, że nasi przyjaciele z PO zapomnieli, że jeszcze żyję. Okazało się, że Donald Tusk i Bogdan Wenta (błąd, chodziło o Grasia, visible typo) mnie odwiedzili." (For a moment I thought our friends from Civic Platform had forgotten I was still alive. It turned out that Donald Tusk and Bogdan Wenta (error, it was supposed to be Graś) visited me.)

16:49

Kaczyński:

A Joint March is a Huge Success

- A joint march is a huge success. We already know that there are very, very many people [at the march]. Perhaps it will even reach 200,000. We are delighted, there were beautiful ceremonies on Piłsudski Square, a wonderful speech by the president. It is a great day - said Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Niezalezna.pl.

ABW and Police Detain Around 100 Individuals Identified as Threats to Event Security

- The smooth proceedings of state ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, including the "For You Poland" march, are the result of cooperation between services subordinate to the Minister of Interior and Administration and the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services. To date, no terrorist or extremist incidents have been recorded. The Warsaw march is the largest gathering secured by the Warsaw Police in its history. The ABW, together with the Police, has so far detained about 100 people who were identified in operational actions as posing a threat to the security of the ceremonies – emphasized the Ministry of Interior and Administration in a statement prepared with the Minister-Coordinator of Special Services.

"Actions aimed at securing the ceremonies began a few days before November 11th. As a result of the actions taken, the ABW and the Police prevented the organization of concerts intended to be held under the auspices of far-right groups. The Border Guard is also conducting its operations, carrying out procedures for individuals presenting themselves for border control. As a result of these actions, entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland was prevented for individuals from environments posing a threat to security and public order, including citizens of Russia, Sweden, and Ukraine.

Furthermore, the Police and the ABW prevented the holding of three conferences where totalitarian ideology was to be promoted. On November 8-11, this year, the ABW, together with the Police, carried out procedural activities against individuals whose behavior could pose a threat to internal security and the state's public order. As part of these activities, approximately 100 people were detained, and the residences of some of them were searched. The ABW cooperated with the Border Guard, to whom it provided information about foreign activists from far-right, left-wing, and neo-fascist groups.

The operating methods and tactics of Police officers during the security of the National Independence Day celebrations were adapted to the number of participants in the march. To date, the services have not recorded any major disturbances of public order. A special operations staff, under the supervision of the Police Headquarters (KGP), is operating at the Capital City Police Headquarters to coordinate the actions of officers. During the security operations, the officers in the capital are supported by officers from other police garrisons and units.

Karczewski:

We Marched Under the White and Red Flag Because It Will Never Be Red, It Will Never Be White. It Was a Record-Breaking March. Mrs. Gronkiewicz-Waltz Could See How Dangerous It Was
- We marched under the white and red flag because it will never be red, it will never be white. It was a record-breaking march. Mrs. Gronkiewicz-Waltz could see how dangerous it was. It was a time of quiet, of such an electoral silence. Such days are useful for Poles. It was very safe, there were some small, minor incidents, of course. I called Minister Brudziński before the program, but he was busy - said Stanisław Karczewski, Marshal of the Senate, on Gość Wiadomości.

20:12

Karczewski:

It would be irrational for us not to want to be in the European Union
- PO is building a political narrative about leaving the EU. This is false information. Poles want to be and will be in the European Union. 95% of politicians are fervent supporters of EU membership. It would be irrational for us not to want it. However, we are not leaving, nor are we saying we will be in the Eurozone, as one politician once surprised his colleagues with such a declaration. PiS politicians want us to be in the Union, and we are securing an increasingly strong and better position there - the Marshal of the Senate said on TVP Info.
