At 11:00, President Andrzej Duda will receive the oaths of office from new Supreme Court judges. The appointments will be based on three resolutions from the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), which were delivered to the Presidential Chancellery on Monday.

"The act, which would potentially aim to fix the broken situation in the Polish media space, meaning the situation where in recent years we have allowed a very large segment of the media to be in the hands of foreign capital, is being developed in the ministry. We have several variants, concepts, modeled on the legislation of various Western European countries" - said Deputy Minister of Culture Jarosław Sellin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

"We have a concept that we can turn into a law and put on the table at any moment. Only this requires a political decision on whether we are already addressing this issue, whether we are introducing it into public debate. This decision belongs to the leadership of my political environment. It could happen at any moment, because we see that this is not a normal situation" - he added.

- If such a motion is submitted, we will certainly consider it. I believe that such a decision should not be made before October 21st, which is before the first round of local elections, because the emotions are currently too high to make rational decisions - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter of an Hour".

- In this matter, we have a legal inconsistency. On the one hand, we have the electoral law for local government, which states that someone who has been convicted cannot hold office, but they must be sentenced to imprisonment. On the other hand, we have the act on local government employees, which clearly states that elected officials cannot have any convictions on their record, and this is the case with Mayor Zdanowska - said Adam Bielan in a conversation with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

- I believe in the wisdom of Łódź residents. If they learn the details of this matter and understand what problems they could bring upon their city by deciding to elect Ms. Zdanowska for another term, I am convinced that they will not vote for this candidate – Bielan added.

- In Warsaw, we are dealing with a gigantic scandal of tenement theft. It is spoken of as reprivatization, but it has little in common with reprivatization, which is the return of property to its former owners. It is simply a gigantic theft of communal property. If it were the case that the individuals responsible for this scandal would continue their local government activity, as I understand Mr. Guział’s statement, if they were to continue to be responsible for the budget of the richest city in Poland, then indeed a problem would arise for the government, which must also ensure that the funds it transfers to Warsaw are well-utilized. Generally, I believe that Warsaw is a city with such a huge budget that state assistance is unnecessary here - said Adam Bielan in a conversation with Marek Pyza on TVP1’s “Political Quarter Hour”.

I can afford to speak about this freely because I receive more money from royalties than from my Sejm salary, where I get about 5.5 thousand PLN net. I donate 1/4 of my salary to charity, but is the situation where the leader of the third parliamentary force earns less than a deputy mayor in the municipality where he lives, normal? I'm talking about abnormality. I'm not complaining and I'm not demanding. What's more... I myself voted to lower MPs' salaries, but that doesn't mean I agree with the situation where a mayor earns more than a president. - Lately, I've been talking with PiS less often. When I saw all these awards and listened to the Prime Minister, I stopped deluding myself that this change is good or better. Mentally, they differ little from Civic Platform. In the context of elections, the fight is not for the citizen's interest, but for state treasury companies, money, and sinecures for family members - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti." “I think various private companies and institutions can conduct different studies. It’s a matter of scientists’ assessment of the report’s substance and methodology. I see a disconnect or different interpretations of the issue of democracy. We stand on the position that democracy is the rule of the people – as the definition indicates. It is realized through elections. Some elites in the West believe that democracy exists when society chooses leaders that suit those elites. Here we have a clear example. Poles elected Law and Justice, which governs in the name of the nation, and this is not liked. Therefore, it is best to label this government as undemocratic. It is an instrument for achieving certain goals, not an objective fact” – said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz in the “Political Salon of Trójka” in an interview with Paweł Lisicki about the report on the state of democracy in individual countries.

“The Court of Justice does not deny the reforms, only certain elements, e.g., the issue of lowering the retirement age for judges. In that case, we will have to consider how to implement these provisions. They do not concern the entirety of the reforms. On the contrary, we are told that we can reform, but some elements, such as whether the authorities could lower the retirement age from 70 to 65. If that were to be questioned, individual cases of particular judges who are in retirement would need to be considered” – said Minister Jacek Czaputowicz on Radio Three.

- We heard that investments in our capital will only be government-funded if PiS wins. We also heard that the government will not support bridges for Rafał Trzaskowski. These are scandalous words. Investments are not for me, they are not for Patryk Jaki, they are for the people of Warsaw. It is unbelievable that PiS is trying to blackmail the people of Warsaw, telling them that if they don't win here in Warsaw, there is no chance of good cooperation with the government, no chance of important investments for Warsaw. I want to remind you that the people of Warsaw pay taxes in Warsaw. These investments are financed, among other things, from their money. Treating the budget like a party piggy bank is a huge scandal – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference.

- The people of Warsaw will certainly know how to respond to such blackmail, the people of Warsaw have never been intimidated and can respond to such blackmail with a red card for those who try to blackmail the people of Warsaw. - At the request of the National Judicial Council (KRS), President Andrzej Duda has appointed judges who will sit in the Civil, Criminal, and Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs Chambers of the Supreme Court - stated Paweł Mucha at a briefing in the Presidential Palace. - Thus, another stage of the judicial reform, which is extremely important to us, has been realized, because judges who will adjudicate in the Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs Chamber have also been appointed - added the Presidential Minister. "If Rafał Trzaskowski asks for my help in mediating government aid, even if he were to ask for such help today, I will gladly offer assistance and act as an intermediary between him and the PiS government ministers. I will certainly try to help him secure a commitment for his ideas," said Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

- With immense joy, I want to confirm here that we are investing in the operating block and specialized equipment at the hospital in Sokółka. Earlier, I also familiarized myself with the needs of this hospital. I know there are further needs, and we are coordinating with the district governor and the hospital management to ensure our hospitals have the best possible equipment. I would like to remind you that last year we allocated several hundred million zlotys, and counting other expenditures, it was over a billion zlotys in additional funds for equipment investments in hospitals. This year, too, we are allocating many additional resources. Specifically for this hospital in Sokółka, which treats several hundred patients, we are allocating approximately 1.5 million zlotys and are also agreeing on further investments so that our citizens, our patients, can be treated with the best possible equipment – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the Independent Public Healthcare Unit in Sokółka. "I would like to sincerely thank all doctors, nurses, and medical staff for their immense effort and great dedication throughout the entire process of treating patients. I am convinced that these investments we are making, long-term ones – let’s be honest – today, the total number of medical students, both full-time and part-time, is around 23,000 individuals pursuing medical professions, while over twenty thousand doctors have left Poland in the last twenty-odd years. This is a huge loss, which is why we want to create the best possible conditions for doctors and all medical staff so that they stay here, in the country. Hence, our investments in equipment as well, because everyone wants to work with the best possible equipment, and patients want to be treated in the best possible conditions, and that is what we are striving for. This is why we made such a commitment not long ago to allocate increasing amounts of funds relative to GDP. Today, it is about 4.86%, and for the next year, it is planned to be around 4.9%, as the Minister of Health told me an hour ago, which is already close to 5% of GDP."

- This is precisely what we aim for: a healthcare system that is increasingly modern, with shorter waiting lists, and this is also our commitment. We will show some initial results in the areas of cataract treatment and prosthetics, and in several other areas where waiting times are the longest. This is a great challenge, but we want to tackle this difficult bull by the horns and we will act to improve the situation in this area – said PMM.

- We want the project, the program, that we will be writing for the 2019 election campaign, to deeply and openly draw upon the experiences of local governments. - There is no such thing as a [Trzaskowski] bridge. There is the Silesian-Dąbrowa bridge, various bridges, but no Trzaskowski bridge. All bridges belong to all residents of Warsaw. If someone speaks in such a way and frightens Varsovians, wanting to force them to change their electoral preferences, I say: it's a dead end, you will lose these elections and all subsequent ones if you treat Poles the way Jaki treats the residents of Warsaw. - In September 2013, when I had already decided last summer that I wanted to leave my post as Finance Minister, I asked Mateusz Morawiecki if he would like to become Finance Minister. And he said no. If, as PiS claims, everyone knew that fraudsters were running rampant – which is a blatant lie, by the way – then if Mateusz Morawiecki also knew about it, why didn't he make a patriotic decision to join this government, become Finance Minister, and fight these fraudsters, since he claims to be so capable of doing so? – Jacek Rostowski said in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

„The President is implementing the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and the act on the Supreme Court. There is no body that has influence over the President exercising his prerogative. The Supreme Administrative Court has no competences in this regard. The President is not a party to any proceedings. This is perhaps a question for the National Council of the Judiciary” – said Minister Paweł Mucha on Polsat News's "Wydarzenia i opinie", when asked why the President did not wait for the ECJ ruling before appointing new Supreme Court judges. 

„Donald Tusk behaves as if he were an active opposition politician. He has that manner. I listened with astonishment to the Prime Minister [Tusk], who said that from morning to night he follows what is happening in Poland: in Warsaw, in Krakow, in Gdansk. I started to worry a little about our European problems, what will happen with Brexit” - said presidential minister Paweł Mucha in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.

„The ‘tapes’ case was handled very flawed by the prosecution. The court did everything to avoid clarifying it. The justice system chose the path of least resistance. I ask myself whether it was opportunism, fear, or other factors. It's difficult for me to judge. Suddenly, after 4 years, the case is revived at the least expected moment” - said former Minister of the Interior, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, on Polsat News.

„[PMM tapes] have destructive power. What is most terrifying in this whole story is that it's unknown who possesses them, apart from the collection held by the prosecution. Strangely, they are leaking through right-wing journalists. We are in the midst of the fourth election that is passing under the sign of tapes. This means that the next elections will also be passing under the sign of tapes. We are increasingly becoming a theoretical state, not less” – Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz said in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News.  

"I have never seen such a brutal local election campaign. There is no symmetry, because this brutality is mainly on the side of those in power, who have the instruments and the strength, which they are demonstrating in an astonishing way. I have the impression that we need a calm conversation among Poles without partisan beatings" - said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News.

Public authorities have their obligations. Citizens, Poles, entrust their confidence to public authorities so that they take care of their property, so that their property is not crudely plundered. Behind us are burning tenement houses on Poznańska Street, which are subject to claims. More tenement houses that Warsaw could lose if the Civic Platform continues to rule, which has already shown that returning real estate is not a problem for them. We have one tenement house behind us, but over two thousand such properties were returned during the Civic Platform's rule alone – said Patryk Jaki before the organized walk, the aim of which, according to the candidate for the capital's president, is to point out tenement houses threatened by reprivatization.
