The Presidential Couple is commencing a visit to the USA, during which President Andrzej Duda will participate in the general debate of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Today, President Duda will attend the opening of the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in New York, a ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, and a reception hosted by the President of the USA and his spouse.

Additionally, at **10:10 AM**, a press conference will take place with the election staff and candidate for vice-president, Piotr Guział. Meanwhile, at **11:00 AM** at the District Court in Warsaw, a hearing will be held concerning what Platforma Obywatelska claims is Mateusz Morawiecki's "road lie." Grzegorz Schetyna, as he announced on Twitter, will meet with Angela Merkel.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will be visiting the Mazovian Voivodeship. The head of the Polish government will visit the company KROSS S.A. at **3:35 PM** and at **5:00 PM**, will participate in the signing of agreements under government programs at the University of Vocational Studies in Ciechanów.

The European Commission has decided to refer the case of changes to the Supreme Court to the Court of Justice of the European Union – Reuters reported last week, citing a high-ranking EU official. According to the agency, the decision was made, but the EC will announce it today to avoid disrupting the EU summit in Salzburg.

Błaszczak:

US Budget Project for 2019 Includes Increased Funds for US Army and Commitment to Assess Permanent US Troop Presence in Poland

- In the budget project, which has already become a binding legal act in the United States, for 2019, there are provisions for increased funds for the United States Army, and also in this act there is a commitment that the United States Congress has imposed on the Pentagon, regarding the assessment of the permanent presence of American troops in Poland. This is a fact - said Mariusz Błaszczak in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on Jedynka radio's "Rozmowa Dnia".

Błaszczak on Komorowski's 'Critical' Words Regarding Permanent US Bases in Poland: 'I Believe This Harms Poland's Security'

- I believe this harms Poland's security. Let's consider, the money we want to invest in a permanent base for American troops will be money invested in infrastructure that will be part of the Republic of Poland's defense system. Let's note that permanent American bases worldwide are a developmental impulse. Countries strive to have permanent bases because it increases economic turnover, as American soldiers arrive with their families - said Mariusz Błaszczak in a conversation with Katarzyna Gójska on Jedynka radio's 'Rozmowa Dnia'.

Kukiz:

I Don't Particularly Like Gersdorf, But I Must Acknowledge the Constitution's 6-Year Term Provision
I don't know what [Mateusz Morawiecki] is playing at. I think it all stems from EU pressure. The situation is somewhat similar to the situation with the IPN Act and an attempt to save face from the unfortunate decision to apply retirement age to Ms. Gersdorf. I doubt PiS will find any argument, generally, to prove that Gersdorf's dismissal is legal. While introducing a retirement age for judges can be stretched to be considered legal, as the system of courts is regulated by law, even I, for whom Gersdorf symbolizes the judicial drama Poland has faced so far, this particular caste, I don't particularly like Ms. Gersdorf, but I must acknowledge that the Constitution does indeed include a provision for a 6-year term – stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego."

07:57

Kukiz:

Our idea all along has been to introduce the institution of peace judges

- This is not a revolution. We have had a situation until now where judges elected themselves from among themselves and evaluated themselves, creating, in a way, a state within a state, which is contrary to Article 4 of the Constitution and the principle of the sovereignty of the nation over the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. And now we are dealing with a situation where courts are becoming politicized, which is also very dangerous - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego."

- Our idea has always been, and I will stick to it until it's implemented, to introduce the institution of peace judges - added the leader of Kukiz '15. - Peace judges elected directly in municipalities, in certain regions, by citizens. So, we are dealing here with the implementation of Article 4 to resolve the smallest disputes - he stated.

08:00

Kukiz:

The Constitution Needs a Complete Overhaul

- I would have such a strong hope [that President Andrzej Duda would be a brake on the revolution of taking over the judiciary] if he had firmly opposed the dismissal of Ms. Gersdorf, whom I don't particularly like. However, unfortunately, there is a provision in the Constitution that grants her a 6-year term, and the Constitution needs to be changed. The Constitution, in general, is ready for a complete overhaul, except for the social sections etc. etc. These constitutional laws are in need of immediate reform - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:02

Kukiz:

The Entire Political Class Maintaining This Post-Bolshevik System Deserves a State Tribunal

- The entire political class that maintains this post-Bolshevik system deserves a State Tribunal. Whether it's Civic Platform, Law and Justice, the Polish People's Party, or any of the parties that plunder this nation - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:05

Kukiz on Judicial Reform: It Will Likely End Up Like the IPN Case, Meaning It Will Be Fully Reversed
Without a doubt, PiS, on its own accord, entered into an unnecessary conflict with the EU. If any reform is undertaken, one that is profound and differs from what existed before, an information campaign must first be conducted to somehow justify the necessity of the changes. The EU should have been shown earlier what the pathologies in the judiciary were, that we have a state within a state, and also to point out that the election of the National Council of the Judiciary [KRS] by a qualified majority also exists in the EU. Such a campaign was not carried out and it will likely end up like the IPN case, meaning it will be fully reversed – stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:11

Kukiz:

Media Promote Only Civic Platform or Law and Justice. Sometimes Śpiewak, Rozenek for Warsaw Elections. Silence on Jakubiak

- The success of Kukiz '15 lies in creating lists in every voivodeship and regional assembly. We fielded nearly 7,000 candidates. Over 5,000 are on lists under the K'15 banner, and additionally, candidates are joining local, non-partisan lists. The important thing is that I've shown m.in. you, the media, etc., who predicted our collapse, that we have registered and are capable, without party subsidies – significant amounts of money taken from taxpayers' pockets – of registering lists across the whole of Poland and have an army of people available for the parliamentary elections, which are the most important for me – stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

- I repeat, perhaps not 20%, but 15% in the parliamentary elections. However, so far, all media promote only Civic Platform or Law and Justice. Sometimes, speaking of the Warsaw elections, Śpiewak, Rozenek. Silence on Jakubiak – he added.

08:43

Neumann:

This Bus is a Sham. It Doesn't Tour Poland with Morawiecki. It Launched Once and Was Supposed to Campaign

- This bus is a sham. It doesn't tour Poland with Morawiecki. It launched once and was supposed to be campaigning. We have countless meetings. There isn't a day without meetings in cities large and small. Grzegorz Schetyna also participates, although today he is in Berlin - Sławomir Neumann said in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Polityczne Graffiti."

Asked about polls, including the latest one for "Do Rzeczy," the head of the Civic Platform (PO) club stated: - We are not worried by the polls because we work with Poles, we talk to them, and we travel. We have a completely different conviction than what is presented in the polls. Especially those commissioned by media outlets associated with the government, or even governmental ones. We've been burned by polls before and approach them with a lot of humility.

- Good polls bring joy, but they don't cause euphoria, and bad ones encourage hard work - he added.

08:54

Jakubiak:

I Will Run Until the Very End
I declare in the presence of you, Mr. Editor, and our listeners, that I will run until the very end, as long as you allow me to – this is how Marek Jakubiak spoke about his participation in the Warsaw mayoral elections during the Morning Interview on RMF FM. – Polls are polls, but one must fight – the guest of Robert Mazurek commented on his low support in surveys.

Jakubiak declared that he intends to subsidize IVF if elected as the capital's mayor. – Having a child is the greatest human happiness. If one can contribute to having more of this happiness, then by all means – he said.

He added that he does not intend to oppose the Equality Parade. – If anyone wants to demonstrate their difference, let them demonstrate. I don't have to grant patronage as mayor. Democracy has its rights – he assured. – I will not patronize the Independence March, but all marches concerning the history of Warsaw – absolutely – he said.

Dworczyk on Civic Platform's Election Lawsuit: The Prime Minister Isn't Saying No Roads Were Built, Just That Insufficient Importance Was Given to It

The Prime Minister is not misleading public opinion. The facts are relentless. Civic Platform (PO) spent PLN 5 billion on local roads during its eight years in power. PiS, in 2018 alone, spent PLN 1.3 billion, and the newly passed budget for roads, which will be implemented by next year, for local roads, amounts to nearly PLN 6 billion. Is this comparison good enough? PLN 5 billion over eight years and 6, or rather 7 billion in one year,” Minister Michał Dworczyk said on Radio Zet.

The Prime Minister is not claiming that no roads were built; the Prime Minister is saying that insufficient importance was attached to it and the government was not particularly interested in the situations of poorer municipalities. Many municipalities could not afford their own contribution when it came to participating in the road construction program,” he added.

09:01

Dworczyk:

No Resignation for Minister Zalewska

There will be no resignation, at least I know nothing about it. There are no grounds for changing the person serving as the Minister of National Education. I understand that various demands can be formulated, but at this moment we are moving into pure politics. Just as PO regularly calls for the dismissal of subsequent ministers, I understand that the protesters are adopting this tone” – said Minister Michał Dworczyk on Radio Zet.

09:13

Dworczyk:

Błaszczak is highly regarded in our party and plays a crucial role. These attacks are a typical election tactic aimed at sowing discord within PiS, but we will not be divided.

“[Błaszczak] is a very well-regarded politician within our political formation and plays a very important role today. These attacks, which we have been witnessing recently, have, in my opinion, two sources: the first reason is a typical election tactic aimed at creating discord within the PiS camp, but we will not allow ourselves to be divided. But the second reason is even more important – Minister Błaszczak performs an extremely vital role. Today, two weekly magazines are attacking Minister Błaszczak, who has just returned from the USA, where he is pursuing one of the key projects from the perspective of the Polish state’s security, namely, lobbying for permanent US military bases in Poland. He recently signed an agreement for the Patriot system. In short, a minister who is leading extremely important programs, who is performing his duties excellently, is being attacked not only by the opposition but also by the media. The two are linked in my opinion” – said Minister Michał Dworczyk on Radio Zet.

Agnieszka Dudzińska: The Sole Candidate for Children's Ombudsman

Agnieszka Dudzińska is the only candidate for the position of Children's Ombudsman.

She was nominated by the Law and Justice (PiS) party. She is a lawyer, a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. She has also completed postgraduate studies in European law and is a graduate of the National School of Public Administration (KSSAP). She has extensive experience in public service, having worked in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

The election of the Children's Ombudsman will take place on September 18, 2024. If elected, Dudzińska will succeed Mikołaj Pawlak.

Mayors, Councillors, and Candidates from All Districts to Hold Office Hours at Jaki Cafe

In a novel initiative aimed at fostering closer ties between local government and residents, Jaki Cafe will be hosting regular office hours for mayors, city councillors, and candidates from across all of Warsaw's districts. This opens a direct channel for citizens to engage with their elected officials and those vying for public office, allowing for direct dialogue and the voicing of concerns. The initiative, spearheaded by Patryk Jaki and announced via his Twitter, seeks to demystify local politics and make representatives more accessible. Residents will have the opportunity to discuss local issues, seek clarification on municipal matters, and present their ideas directly to those who shape the future of their neighborhoods. This move underscores a commitment to transparency and citizen participation in the democratic process.

Łapiński on the President's visit to Washington: From a purely political standpoint, it was a successful visit and good talks

- From a purely political standpoint, it was a successful visit and good talks. We live in a culture of images, a culture of memes, social media. With a visit of this rank, everything must be taken care of, every detail. Then, instead of discussing the real effects of this visit, about what was signed, there is a discussion about a photograph, and unfortunately, this discussion overshadows the real, hard politics that truly succeeded during the visit to the United States - said Krzysztof Łapiński in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- This is some kind of lesson or a takeaway that shows that when there are very important, very good talks, one must also do everything to ensure that the entire visual or other framing is also at the highest possible level – added Łapiński.

09:50

Łapiński on PAD's Re-election: From Today's Perspective, Chances Are Very High

- From today's perspective, the chances are very high. The President's ratings regarding trust are very high. President Andrzej Duda is the leader, the assessment of his presidency is very good. His activity as president is also rated well. However, let's remember that there is still over a year and a half until the elections, and today, firstly, it's unknown who will run. The President also hasn't specified, because now is not the time, whether he will seek re-election - said Krzysztof Łapiński in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

10:00

Łapiński on Presidential Veto Regarding Courts: If He Pointed to People Who Convinced Him, He Was Pointing Not at Me, but at Ms. Zofia Romaszewska

- In PiS, one could hear voices that it was not a coincidence. Your arrival at the palace and other relations with Law and Justice. Did you persuade the President to take a harder line against the ruling party? – Krzysztof Łapiński was pressed by Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- That was actually a coincidence. I had no influence on the fact that in July the judicial bills appeared and were passed. If you go back a dozen or so months to July, the President clearly stated the premises that guided him. If he pointed to the people who convinced him, he was pointing not at me, but at Ms. Zofia Romaszewska - replied Łapiński.

11:47

Kaczyński on Judges: The So-Called Extraordinary Caste Has a Special Relationship with its Own State, Nation, and Citizens – a Profoundly Unwilling One

- This is outrageous, and the claims are outrageous (claims by German citizens regarding real estate in Poland – ed.), not to say brazen. Above all, the attitude of Polish courts is outrageous. This is happening in many cases and many places in Poland. In essence, if we have some foreign institution or even a foreigner, particularly from strong countries, they can know from the outset that they will win, because unfortunately, this so-called extraordinary caste has a special relationship with its own state and its own nation, with its own citizens, a relationship that, let's say, is profoundly unwilling – said Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Marek Lewiński on Radio Olsztyn's "Morning Questions".

European Commission Refers Poland to ECJ Over Supreme Court Changes
The Commission has decided to refer the case of Poland to the European Court of Justice due to a violation of the principle of judicial independence, which was introduced by the Act on the Supreme Court. The European Commission claims that the Act on the Supreme Court is not compatible with EU law because it undermines the principles of judicial independence, including the irremovability of judges – the EC announced.

The EC has also decided to ask the ECJ to introduce interim measures to restore the situation of the Supreme Court to what it was before the new law entered into force. The EC has opted for an accelerated procedure so that a decision can be made as quickly as possible – added the EC spokesperson.

13:17

Trzaskowski:

EC has lost patience. I call on Jaki to withdraw changes to the Supreme Court. Lack of reaction means desire to expel Poland from the EU

Warsaw, Poland – Rafał Trzaskowski, a prominent figure in Polish politics and Mayor of Warsaw, has issued a stern warning regarding the recent legislative changes concerning the Supreme Court. In a statement that has garnered significant attention, Trzaskowski asserted that the European Commission (EC) has "lost patience" and directly urged Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Jarosław Jaki, to retract the proposed amendments.

Trzaskowski's strong words suggest a potential escalation of the ongoing dispute between Poland and the European Union over the rule of law. The proposed changes to the Supreme Court are viewed by many as further undermining judicial independence in Poland, a concern that has been repeatedly raised by EU institutions.

"The European Commission has lost patience. I call on Jaki to withdraw the changes concerning the Supreme Court," Trzaskowski stated, as reported by various media outlets. He further elaborated that a failure to address this issue promptly would be interpreted as a deliberate move by the Polish government to exit the European Union.

This statement, initially shared via Twitter ([https://twitter.com/trzaskowski_/status/1044183396384210944?s=12](https://twitter.com/trzaskowski_/status/1044183396384210944?s=12)), carries significant weight given Trzaskowski's position and his party's stance within the Polish political landscape.

The ongoing controversy surrounding judicial reforms in Poland has led to infringement procedures and intense scrutiny from Brussels. Trzaskowski's ultimatum suggests that the patience of EU partners is wearing thin, and that the current trajectory could have profound consequences for Poland's membership in the Union.

The implications of Poland potentially "expelling itself" from the EU are far-reaching, impacting economic ties, security, and the country's international standing. The coming days and weeks will be critical in determining whether dialogue can de-escalate the situation or if Poland is indeed heading towards a significant rupture with its European partners.

After Meeting with Dubai Investors: Interest in the "Future District" Project is Growing, Including Globally

"Interest in the "Future District" project is growing, including globally. The "Future" District is the future for Warsaw. I am strongly convinced that this is something that will propel our city's economy forward in the future and make it one of the strongest in Europe, because today, innovations and smart city solutions determine which urban economies are strong and leading, and which are lagging behind. This is very important," said Patryk Jaki, a candidate for the Warsaw mayoralty from the United Right (ZP), at a press conference.

"Today, investors worldwide are looking for places where so-called living labs are being created, meaning places where cities are built from scratch based on new technologies. They are looking for such places to invest in, and if Warsaw has the largest such area in Europe, it will inevitably win, because there is no other way. However, if it doesn't have it, and if Warsaw doesn't strongly embrace innovation, then in just a few years, Warsaw's economy will not be able to catch up even to the economies of the region," he added.

Patryk Jaki on the EC Complaint: European Institutions, Closely Linked to Tusk, Know Article 7 Failed. If it Fails, Something Else Must Be Invented

This is a kind of series that is meant to continue indefinitely and create the impression that something bad is happening in Poland, etc. Why this complaint? Because European institutions, also closely linked with Donald Tusk, know very well that Article 7 has failed. Well, if Article 7 fails, then something else must be invented. How else? If a vote were to occur, it is known that it would not pass. That is why we have the actions we do” - said Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

14:25

Karczewski:

It was predictable that the court would dismiss [the case], but this also testifies to the opposition's shallowness

- I am not surprised by this decision and this [court's] verdict. It was predictable that the court would dismiss it, but this also testifies to the shallowness of the opposition. The total opposition either expresses its opinion on the street or abroad. Currently, there is a third avenue for political action in the courts. It would be good, however, for our political opponents to present a program, their proposals, for Poland, Warsaw, and other cities. Patryk Jaki did that. For two hours, he presented his program, his vision, because he has one. Those who don't have one don't show it. This also shows that we have a plan, a project, and we will implement it. I will not only be strongly rooting for the excellent candidate of PiS, the United Right, for the office of Mayor of Warsaw, because he shows what has happened and what should happen. I would very much like him to win these elections, because Warsaw deserves a change - stated Stanisław Karczewski at a briefing.

14:29

Karczewski on EC's ECJ Referral: We Expected It, as it Was Clear Such a Decision Would Be Made. I am a Politician, Not a Futurologist. I Don't Know What We Will Do.

- We expected this [EC's referral to the ECJ], because it was visible that such a decision would be made. You are asking what we will do? I am a politician, I am not a futurologist. I don't know what we will do. We have always respected all rulings. It must also be said that Poland is a leader when it comes to respecting and implementing ECJ judgments and referrals. We will see. The Polish government has very strong, substantive, legal arguments. It will present them. I am convinced that this complaint will be rejected – stated Stanisław Karczewski at a briefing.

Civic Platform to Appeal Court Decision on PM's Remarks About Roads and Bridges. Grabiec: The Prime Minister's Crown Wouldn't Have Fallen Off Had He Apologized and Corrected His Words
The court today did not rule on the merits of whether Mateusz Morawiecki told the truth or lied, as that was to be the subject of today's court decision. In our assessment, and in the assessment of all Poles, it is obvious that a great lie came from Mateusz Morawiecki, that there were neither bridges nor roads during our government's term. A very dangerous thing has happened in our assessment today, because the court stated that any lie can be described as a rhetorical ploy in an election campaign. This is an extremely dangerous phenomenon for Polish democracy. If the first-instance court's decision were to be treated as an interpretation of the law, it would practically mean that this provision in the Electoral Code is completely dead, because anyone who lies during an election campaign will ultimately say they meant something else and that it was a rhetorical ploy,” Mariusz Witczak from Civic Platform said at a press conference in the Sejm.

We are determined to fight for political debate based on truth, and that is precisely why we are awaiting the written justification. We will obviously appeal this decision to the appellate court,” he added.

It cannot be that during an election campaign, the head of government utters untrue words and there is no procedure that would allow for their correction. The Prime Minister's crown wouldn't have fallen off had he simply apologized and corrected his words. It is clearly visible that the court tried to escape issuing a ruling in this matter, first looking for formal obstacles, and today attempting to evade responsibility by speaking of a rhetorical ploy,” said Civic Platform spokesperson, Jan Grabiec.

PM on Poland's Case Referred to ECJ by the European Commission: We Are Not Particularly Surprised, as Everyone Knows Poland Has Been in a Dispute Over the Scope of Judicial Reforms for Some Time
We are not particularly surprised, as everyone who follows the matter knows that Poland has been in a dispute over the scope of judicial reforms for some time. We are showing how reforming the judiciary is critically important. An interesting point, which lawyers in both Brussels and Warsaw are analyzing, is that it seems, but of course I repeat, we have not yet finalized this conclusion, we have not acquainted ourselves with it, the interesting point is that it refers to a certain act from the past and the suggestions are, or the signals are, that a sovereign decision of the Sejm would supposedly be changed here. We will have to address everything in due time - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a visit to the KROSS S.A. enterprise in Przasnysz.

PMM After Court's Decision to Dismiss PO's Motion: The Local Road Construction Program, Run by the PO-PSL Coalition, Was Decidedly Insufficient

- I am glad that what I said at many rallies, and moreover, I emphasized at many rallies with voters, is that the local road construction program, which was run by the PO and PSL coalition, was decidedly insufficient. It was 600 million annually on average; if you sum up the years 2008 to 2015 and divide by eight, it was 600 million annually. In our case, already this year we have allocated 1.3 billion, which is more than twice as much - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a visit to the KROSS S.A. company in Przasnysz.

Step by Step, We're Working to Improve the Situation; We Inherited Significant Hospital Debt Exceeding PLN 10 Billion Nationwide
Step by step, we're working to improve the situation, because indeed, we inherited very significant hospital debt, which is well over 10 billion nationwide. Also, the replacement of equipment with very modern, more modern equipment, which we witnessed today in several hospitals, but this actually concerns about 100 hospitals across all 16 voivodeships, throughout the country. This is so that Emergency Departments are not associated with long queues, crowded corridors, but with more efficient service. With more efficient procedures, with a more efficient process of attending to patients – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Ciechanów.

President Duda Opens PAIH's Foreign Trade Office in New York
- The United States is one of Poland's best and most trusted friends, also in economic matters - emphasized President Andrzej Duda, as he opened the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in New York. President Duda invited further investment in Poland. - I am convinced that it is worthwhile - he stated. The President noted that entrepreneurs from the USA create 200,000 jobs in Poland, for example, through the branches of their globally operating companies. Andrzej Duda also pointed out that economic turnover between Poland and the USA is growing year by year. - And Poland is one of the most dynamic, best-developing, and leading European markets - he argued. - I urge all investors from the USA to take an interest in Poland, especially in sectors such as IT and all modern technologies. I am convinced that you will find young people in Poland who are excellently educated, ambitious, prepared, and above all, intelligent and ready to work - the President encouraged.

Morawiecki:

We Know the Shrinking PKS Bus Lines Are a Problem. We're Working on a Program to Restore Them

- I know that the shrinking PKS bus lines are a problem here. There used to be more buses running. We are working on a program with Minister Sasin and Minister Adamczyk, a program that would serve to restore some of these lines, so that residents can travel in a more convenient way, not somewhere out of the way. This is about integrating Poland - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stated in Płońsk.

PMM:

We Want to Rebuild and Build a Strong Middle Class Across the Republic

We want to rebuild and build a strong middle class across the Republic” – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Płońsk – „Until recently, the elites, so-called elites or the elites of the Third Polish Republic, convinced us that we live in the best of possible homelands, that it simply couldn't get any better. That was the situation until 2015. That certainly no additional funds would be found for social policy, that 500+ was a second Ukraine or a second Greece – is that what they said? But we have reorganized all of that very well”.

Morawiecki Honors Grażyna Gęsicka for Her Role in Building Poland's Road and Highway Program

- Our program is, it is very strongly a program for cities like Płońsk. It is a program that recognizes the problems of ordinary people. It's not as if only highways are to be built and people are to travel quickly between large, major cities. We are glad they are being built, and I also want to pay tribute here to the minister, may she rest in peace, Grażyna Gęsicka, whom I knew, who back in 2006-2007, was building the road and highway construction program, which her successors utilized to a certain extent. Well, they didn't build as much as was planned to be built. It's good that some of it is done, and we are now also building the S3 and S7, and this is happening in many places - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a PiS election rally in Płońsk.

Do We Want Minister "There Is None and There Won't Be" Rostowski Back, Together with Schetyna and Tusk?

- Nobody accuses us of PiS doing nothing, that it's impossible, that there's no money, like our predecessors. Do we want Minister "There Is None and There Won't Be" Rostowski back, together with Schetyna and Tusk? - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Płońsk.

PiS in Płońsk: The Local Mayor Has Been in Power for 24 Years. It's Time for a Change, Time to Give a Chance to New, Dynamic, Highly Entrepreneurial Local Government Officials

- The local mayor has been in power for 24 years. The first elections were in 1990, so probably six terms. 24 years. It's time for a change, time to give a chance to new, dynamic, highly entrepreneurial local government officials. Local government officials who know this job - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a PiS election rally in Płońsk.

Morawiecki:

Media Largely Don't Belong to Poles. Look at France, Germany, Spain, and Italy

– Moreover, the media largely do not belong to Poles. Just look at France and Germany, at Spain and Italy. At large countries, EU countries. There, the media are in the hands of various national corporations. If the Berliner Zeitung was to be bought by Americans, just search the internet for the uproar in Germany, and that's not even the largest newspaper in Germany. It's different here. This was brought about by the years of the Third Polish Republic and the years of transformation. Therefore, let us not be intimidated. Let us not be scared. Our activity is important. What we say to other people is crucial. Let's talk about these five main points for local government – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Płońsk.

Petru:

With This Economic Growth, There Should Be a Surplus

- I believe that with this economic growth, there should be a surplus. There should be a surplus. Mateusz Morawiecki, when he advised Donald Tusk, was also responsible for that deficit. I have been saying for years that this is a serious problem - stated Ryszard Petru in an interview with Agnieszka Mosór on Polsat News.

Mazur:

I wouldn't question a situation where my term was cut short by the 65-year age limit
  • We are not dealing with breaking the rules here, but rather with a clarification of a general constitutional provision that only mentions tenure – said Leszek Mazur in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program „Kropka nad i” (The I Dot).
  • I also wouldn't question a situation where, if my term were cut short by this 65-year limit, I would consider myself no longer meeting the conditions to continue performing my duties – Mazur added.

NEWS OF THE DAY: Events: 1-0 for PM, News: Those who remember the harm Germany inflicted on Poles are outraged by the opposition's talks with Merkel, Facts: EC not convinced

-- LIVEBLOG 300POLITYKI:

Petru: With this economic growth, there should be a surplus.

PMM: The media largely do not belong to Poles. Please look at France and Germany, at Spain and Italy.

PMM: Do we want Minister "There is none and there will be none" Rostowski to return here with Schetyna and Tusk?

PMM: I want to pay tribute to Grażyna Gęsicka, who in 2006-2007 built a program for road and highway construction, which her successors utilized to some extent.

PMM: I know that the winding down of PKS routes is a problem. More buses used to run. We are working on a program that would serve to restore some of these lines.

PO will appeal the court's decision regarding PMM's words about roads and bridges. Grabiec: It wouldn't have cost the Prime Minister his crown if he had apologized and corrected his words. https://300polityka.pl/live/2018/09/24/

-- KRUPIŃSKI ON BBC NEWS: We see growing interest from London-based private equity funds. I don't think London will lose its status as a global financial center. If it does, it certainly won't happen overnight. That's why we are following our clients, some hedge funds, private equity funds. We also see interest from our Polish corporate clients in exporting to the UK, in the British market.
