September 17th marks the anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland in 1939. At 8:30 AM, the President will lay a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.

At 11:00 AM, a press conference will be held by Krzysztof Szczerski regarding the President's visit to Bucharest for the Three Seas Initiative Summit and the Presidential Couple's visit to Washington. The visit to Bucharest begins today – the agenda includes the official opening of the Business Forum with the President's participation and a panel discussion titled "The Three Seas Initiative in the Context of International Challenges."

The European Network of Councils for the Judiciary is expected to make a decision today regarding the continued membership of Poland's National Council of the Judiciary in this organization. At the end of August, the KRS decided not to take actions aimed at withdrawing from the ENCJ.

- This is not true that I am the main opponent [of Civic Coalition]. I am a supporter of a certain system of values. I simply don't believe Mr. Schetyna's stories about introducing abortion law liberalization - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- At that time, the situation was that there were supposed to be three-seat constituencies. I will tell you clearly and precisely: if three-seat constituencies are introduced, there will be no other option, we are talking about local government, to run on a single list in the future - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- If there are three-seat constituencies, which will eliminate very large social groups and their views, then at that moment it will be necessary to run on a single list. If these constituencies do not exist, no one will be tempted to persuade people, at least from the left's side, to vote for a single list - the chairman of the SLD continued.

- There was a moment when Mr. Schetyna, and I still believe this, was more focused on leadership within the opposition than on fighting PiS. I still hold that opinion. Leadership also entails responsibility. There are no consultations whatsoever. If you think there are any consultations within the opposition on any substantive issue, concerning the state, foreign policy matters, then there aren't. In my opinion, the leader of the largest party should be initiating this - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- We are absolutely not prepared to form a coalition with PiS - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." - The party's line is unambiguous. We will not cooperate and we do not cooperate with PiS - he added.

I am only saying that talking about 500+ is not true. Jarosław Kaczyński only said that we in the government and in Law and Justice are working on some idea that is meant to give retirees additional money – Sasin stated.

„The decision regarding the IPN Act was entirely independent of that [President Andrzej Duda's visit to Washington]. The date of the President's visit was set in May of this year, so many weeks earlier than the decision on the amendment to the IPN [Act]. The amendment itself, the first one, caused emotions on the other side of the Atlantic, but after a few months, they had already subsided” - said Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Adam Bielan, on Polsat News.

“Nothing in the information published by ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’ indicates that unethical methods were used in the campaign. ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’ must come to terms with the fact that its candidate, Bronisław Komorowski, lost the election. If I were in ‘GW’s’ shoes, I would analyze the reasons for this defeat to avoid future losses in upcoming elections, rather than spreading conspiracy theories that bots or Russians won. We heard such theses a few weeks ago as well,” said Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Adam Bielan, on Polsat News.

- We are showing that these were unfulfilled promises. Of course, some things were built, sections of roads were opened, these investments were progressing, but they were progressing too slowly. At such a pace, we have no chance of catching up with Western Europe – said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet". - They had eight years, during these eight years they spent on local roads; highways are a different matter, European funds are spent there, these are large projects, it is truly coming together well right now. However, when it comes to local roads, the numbers are relentless. 5.3 billion over eight years. How much is that annually? 700 million, even less. We spent 800 million last year, 1.3 billion this year – Sasin added.

"I am not familiar with those words [PMM regarding road construction during the PO-PSL era]. I was at harvest festival celebrations all weekend. I don't know the full statement. You need to ask the Prime Minister, the campaign press spokesperson. We remember such a slogan in the local elections: let's not play politics, let's build bridges. Today, PO is employing completely opposite tactics. Instead of talking about local issues, they are trying to politicize the campaign as much as possible," said the Deputy Marshal of the Senate, Adam Bielan, on Polsat News.

"When it comes to roads, I am satisfied. Although I clearly see that these funds were allocated unevenly," he added.

- I wish to reassure all foresters. There is no 'grab' for the State Forests' money. We have discussed various options – said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

- 800 million zlotys are supposed to go to the local roads fund over two years – Lubecka stated.

- It will not go. Such a proposal did indeed emerge, but it is a proposal under discussion, and we are continuously working on this project. What we can say today is that it will not be any additional money from the State Forests beyond what the State Forests already contribute to the state budget today – Sasin explained.

- Minister, do you not foresee a situation where the Court of Justice rules in favor of the European Commission, and consequently, for example, judges would have to return to work? Those whom the President sent into retirement? – Jacek Sasin was asked in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program „Gość Radia Zet”. - If I were to assume that such a situation could occur, then I would have to assume that the European Union is an organization that breaks the law, breaks its own treaties. I don't want to assume that, because I believe that the European Union is a different organization than the Soviet Union, which imposed solutions on its members that were convenient for the center. I absolutely believe that the European Union is not such an organization – Sasin replied.

- We want to achieve a situation where Poland truly and rapidly closes the gap that still exists, although it is constantly decreasing, between us and the wealthy countries of Western Europe. This isn't even about the European average, because that average includes countries much poorer than Poland, e.g., Bulgaria. We simply want Poland to be, at least initially, like Italy, then like France, and finally like Germany. Perhaps later even like the Netherlands - stated Jarosław Kaczyński on Radio Szczecin.

- Even development of Warsaw is important. We must look after green areas in the future, we must look after the lungs of Warsaw. Today, we are standing in a place that should be designated for a park and recreation. A place that the city should purchase in the future. If we win these elections, we will do everything in our power to ensure Warsaw has as much land for parks and green areas as possible - said Patryk Jaki at a press conference near Kabacki Forest.

- I am glad that Mr. Patryk Jaki wants the construction of parks and squares in Warsaw. He wants to buy land that is designated for greenery and recreation. We are standing on such land, this is 20 hectares of private land. The point is to protect these areas from development and give them back to the residents of Warsaw - said Piotr Guział.

- I don't live off lobbying. I don't engage in it - stated former president Aleksander Kwaśniewski in the Morning Interview on RMF FM. - I can't imagine registering as a lobbyist. If I'm at an international conference and say that Ukraine should be accepted into the EU, that's clear lobbying, but I don't receive funds for it. I receive money for giving that lecture - he added.

- I acted on behalf of the European Parliament for the signing of an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and for the release of political prisoners – especially Yulia Tymoshenko. At that time, I met with [Paul] Manafort, who was officially Yanukovych's advisor and had a significant influence on him - the former president said.

- I received no money from Manafort, nor from the Ukrainians, nor from the European Union – our activities were entirely free of charge. I participated in international conferences as an invited speaker, and of course, honoraria were paid there - he added. - I fought for Yulia Tymoshenko to be free, and she is free. To win elections, you need to have very widely spread wings, and you need to attract all those who, although they often differ from us ideologically, still share our vision of building a strong and sovereign homeland. The direction being implemented in Warsaw will translate into Patryk Jaki's success - stated Tomasz Poręba in TVP1's "Kwadrans polityczny". He added:

It seems to me that Patryk Jaki's decision to take a leave of absence from the Ministry of Justice is a good demonstration of honesty towards the voters. There is a month left until the elections, everyone will be concentrating on the election campaign, this leave is a good idea."

- I travel with Prime Minister Morawiecki and President Kaczyński regularly across Poland. We reach cities and towns, there is great enthusiasm and positive emotions there, which is also very encouraging for me. Prime Minister Morawiecki taps into these emotions well, after each speech he goes out to meet people, greets them, it's hard to pull him away from them. This is also a very good signal for the future, that what we say and do, what we want to implement for Poland, is met with a positive response - he stated.

- I am also deeply moved to be able to participate in this ceremony. I am very happy because it is symbolic for Poland, for unifying, for stitching Poland together. Today is also a sad and symbolic date in Poland's history, September 17th, when the Soviet Union invaded Poland following Nazi Germany, and it is a symbolic date of Poland's tearing apart. 79 years ago. We must mention it, remember it. But the move we are making today is the opposite action, precisely the unification of Poland, an action intended to ensure that Poland is indeed one, that it is connected by roads, in such a way that transport, the movement of people, is as convenient, safe, and efficient as possible. And today here, in Świnoujście, the connection to the island of Uznam from the island of Wolin is precisely this symbolic stitching together of the northwestern part of Poland, which once, long, long ago, at the dawn of our statehood, belonged to Poland. And today I also want to express immense joy and gratitude to all those who contributed to this, that we stand at such a moment when there is no longer Poland A and Poland B. Świnoujście A and B, on both sides, but in a few years we will have a fully comfortable connection and one Świnoujście, one Poland - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the ceremony for signing the agreement on improving the transport connection between the islands of Uznam and Wolin in Świnoujście - the construction of the tunnel under the Świna river.

- In Bucharest, the President will participate in a panel on the role of the Three Seas Initiative, but also in his presence, alongside the presidents of the Three Seas countries, two important documents will be signed. Firstly, a letter of intent regarding the establishment of the Three Seas Fund, which we promised as a new instrument for the practical implementation of the initiative's goals. The second, extremely important document, is a declaration on the establishment of a network of chambers of commerce and the formation of a business council - said Krzysztof Szczerski at a press conference.

- This year, in addition to the traditional partner of the Three Seas, the United States, represented by Rick Perry on behalf of Donald Trump, Jean Claude Juncker, the heads of the two most important European banks, namely the Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, will join. On behalf of Germany as a new partner of the Three Seas, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will be present. This group of institutions and countries supporting the initiative from the outside, whose goal, as we understand it, is the alignment of their objectives with the policy goals of the Three Seas – Szczerski added.

The President is travelling, de facto, as an emissary of the Three Seas Initiative to President Trump. The outcome of the presidents' talks will be agreements that will be reflected in a document. Negotiations concluded on Saturday, the day before yesterday. If the presidents accept it, they will adopt a joint declaration on deepening the strategic partnership between Poland and the USA – said Krzysztof Szczerski at a press conference. The document consists of three pillars. Firstly, in the area of military cooperation and security. Secondly, energy, here a common stance concerning both the positive element, i.e., infrastructure investments and trade in energy resources between Poland and the USA, but also a joint opposition to initiatives that shatter and destroy the open market of European gas, such as Nord Stream 2. The third element of this declaration is economic and investment cooperation. Bilateral, increasing American investments in Poland – Szczerski added.

- The lies that not only Prime Minister Morawiecki, but all PiS politicians involved in this campaign are operating with, go beyond not only the bounds of good taste and decency, but also deform reality and history. I announced this yesterday, we checked, analyzed these words with lawyers, and this lie that Prime Minister Morawiecki used in his statement, saying that there were no roads and bridges during the time of his predecessors. We are filing an election lawsuit. We will do it tomorrow. We will demand an apology, a correction of these lies, and also a financial donation to WOŚP (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with journalists.

„[We want] to emphasize the importance of a policy of continuity in such a crucial area as the state's family policy. Secondly, to underscore the willingness to implement the principle of continuity in practice, rather than constant new beginnings. Family policy requires stability – just as internal stability always serves every family. It demands consistency, consistent action over longer periods” – said former President Bronisław Komorowski at a press conference.

„Today's opposition intends to seize power and undoubtedly wants to continue all those elements of positive achievements of the current government. I mean, among others, the so-called 500+. Nevertheless, political honesty requires emphasizing that despite the efforts of many governments and many presidents, the demographic crisis in Poland still persists” – added the former president.

„We are guided by the same thought, the same way of thinking about the state and its continuity. Social policy is one of the most sensitive areas of state policy. It builds stability, gives citizens guarantees that the state will never abandon them. This policy must be conducted wisely and must be conducted in a coherent, long-term manner, not with the assumption of lasting until the next election or what the budget allows for 3 years” – said the leader of Inicjatywa Polska, Barbara Nowacka.

„Social policy is a process. It cannot be the case that we relegate social policy matters to the meanders of politics and election campaigns, because these are the most important, strategic matters that attest to the maturity of the state. A great deal has been achieved” – added the chairman of PO, Grzegorz Schetyna.

"It's not a 5% raise proposed by the Ministry of Education, and primarily by the Polish government, but rather 15.8% over a year and nine months. An additional PLN 5 billion to the education subsidy. We met with trade unionists about 200 times in various locations and on different topics. In 90%, if not most, the trade unionists' demands have been met" - said the Minister of Education, Anna Zalewska, in an interview with TOK FM.

"Civic Platform and Nowoczesna declared before the holidays that they would remove someone at every [Sejm] session. Therefore, they submitted such a motion [of no confidence in Zalewska]. This is the opposition's right, and I respect that right. It will be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the actions taken for the sake of good education" - she added.

Jan Kanthak, head of the political cabinet of the Minister of Justice – also serving as the minister's spokesperson – has become the United Right's candidate in the local government elections. He is running from the top spot on the list for the Gdańsk City Council, in constituency no. 5.

 "Let's not let Warsaw residents buy a pig in a poke on October 21st. That's why today I'm calling on all candidates to debate. It can be a debate on transport, social care, housing, environmental protection, any topic. I believe that such a debate is deserved by the residents of Warsaw," said Jacek Wojciechowicz, a candidate for the mayor of Warsaw, at a press conference.

86% of respondents believe that Poland should remain in the European Union, according to a Kantar Millward Brown survey commissioned by "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. 11% believe that Poland should leave the EU, and 3% chose the answer "I don't know/difficult to say".

- The Polish Development Fund can be supported, supplemented, due to the effective tax sealing policy. Because the Law and Justice government is winning against VAT mafias. Thanks to this, we can allocate these funds to investments like these, here at the ENERGOP plant in Sochaczew. I am glad that thanks to this, new jobs can also be created, because new jobs and specialists are needed here in Sochaczew - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- I am glad that the cooperation with the Industrial Development Agency is so good, the IDA is part of the Polish Development Fund, it is our main financial and development vehicle, which efficiently creates opportunities for acquiring new contracts and ensures that the future, also for this company, looks promising – added Morawiecki.

- We receive with sadness the news that there is no government support for public projects serving residents. "Orlik" sports fields, local roads, "schetynówki" (a colloquial term for roads financed from a government program) or sports infrastructure – this must happen with government involvement. It has always been this way. In 2007, year after year, budget after budget, we always wrote many projects where the financial engineering was shared. A zloty from the local government, a zloty from the government. So as to show that together we can achieve more. We succeeded in this. We will return to this idea - Grzegorz Schetyna said at a press conference in Płock.

“President Andrzej Duda has met with President Trump many times. Today, to my surprise, I noted words suggesting this is the first such meeting. I would like to remind you that it is only taking place now because President Trump previously visited Warsaw,” said the President’s spokesperson, Minister Błażej Spychalski, during the “Political Interview” on TOK FM.

- It cannot be the case that local governments are given tasks but not the money for them. It cannot be the case that their competences are taken away, for example, the decision-making about the school network, and at the same time, they are expected to meet certain conditions. We are in favour of organising schools that are friendly to children and families, but also schools where every zloty is accounted for, meaning that investments related to sport and schools should be co-financed by the state – said Katarzyna Lubnauer at a press conference in Płock.

„The President cooperates with the National Council of the Judiciary. Each acts within their own scope of duties. The KRS has its duties. Once they fulfill them, they pass them to the President, and the President decides and makes the resolutions” - Minister Błażej Spychalski stated on TOK FM.

„It is unknown when the President will announce the competition [for Supreme Court vacancies]. I think it will be immediate” - he added.

- What could happen when Law and Justice, so famous for sorting people and, as we can see, local governments, seizes more power? Already today, the president (of Płock – ed.) says he is not receiving funding, even though he is applying for projects necessary for everyone. He is not receiving funding for roads, for sports infrastructure, simply because he is not affiliated with Law and Justice. The arguments that there wasn't enough money, specifically for this city, are simply ridiculous. What the Civic Coalition guarantees is that we will always be on the side of residents. Wherever investments are needed, wherever development for everyone can be fostered, that money will go, not just to places where the mayor is someone we like – said Barbara Nowacka at a press conference in Płock.

- We should be proud of our social programs. This is precisely why our compatriots, who do not understand our social policy, who sometimes speak ill of it, do not understand that it has changed, this social policy, 500+, 300+ has changed the face of this land. Should we be ashamed of it? Exactly. They are also beneficiaries of this policy, sometimes calling it scraps. That's what they say, 300+, a Civic Coalition politician, a Civic Coalition MP said. Unfortunately. And recently, to my regret, I must state this, unfortunately, on such a scale as one might think about Poland, about Polish society, a representative of the so-called self-proclaimed elites of the Third Polish Republic said that 500+ is only for the dregs of society. This is a measure of what the opposition, the so-called self-proclaimed elites, think of all of us, because we are the salt of the earth, like salt on this beautiful loaf of bread, and we will rebuild Poland - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Sochaczew.

- We implemented a great program that so irritates our predecessors. They say Greece 2.0 is coming, that we cannot afford these programs. I want to say: we implemented the largest tax sealing program, we chased away VAT mafias, tax criminals. Now they also shout that this is not true, but all centers, the European Commission, all its institutions, already admit it. It is a fact, tens of billions of zlotys have appeared here, on this land, including the Sochaczew region - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Sochaczew.

They [political opponents] want to violate the Constitution. I expect we will soon hear about the Constitution here. They want to violate the Constitution, Article 152 of the Constitution. It states that the voivode is the representative of the government in the voivodeship, the region. And what did the Civic Platform leader say last week? He said he wants to liquidate voivodeships [voivodeship offices]. Let's not allow the liquidation of the Polish state and its manifestations in the voivodeships – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Sochaczew.

- They are afraid that our next program [concerning the internet] will be successful. Don't be afraid. ACTA2 – this is the opposition. They wanted to silence the internet. Members of the European Parliament from the Civic Platform voted for something that is called ACTA2 today. They, having the main media, access to the main media, come here and do not look at the fact that we are fulfilling the main provision of the Preamble of our Constitution. In concern for the welfare and future of our homeland – this is what we are doing – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Sochaczew.

„The Three Seas Initiative is indeed an exceptionally important project. The signing of documents on cooperation between chambers of commerce and a letter of intent to establish the Three Seas Fund are milestones in this area of cooperation. The words spoken about how important this initiative is for the development of our part of Europe, that it is recognized, and that major powers like the United States also see an opportunity to pursue economic interests here, specifically through cooperation with the Three Seas countries and see developmental possibilities within this format” - President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference in Bucharest.

52% of respondents believe that changes in the Polish judiciary primarily serve to subordinate the judiciary to the ruling party. 35% are of the opinion that they primarily serve the reform of the justice system and the improvement of court operations. 13% chose the option "don't know/hard to say". The survey was conducted by Kantar Millward Brown on behalf of "Fakty" TVN and TVN24.

- The outcome of the vote is the saddest part. The event itself is not a drama. This is not exclusion, it's merely a suspension, so the opportunity to rectify various matters on the Polish side remains.
