Dworczyk on Government Program for Pensioners: "It Will Depend on the Economic Situation"

- It is true that within our political formation, we are analyzing possibilities for improving the situation of pensioners. We would like this group to receive real support. It is too early, as President Jarosław Kaczyński also mentioned, it is too early to talk about details, but indeed, such considerations are underway – said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały Dnia" (Signals of the Day) on Polish Radio Channel One.

- It will depend on the economic situation. We are pursuing responsible economic policies, and in preparing further proposals for solidarity and social programs, we are looking at the budget situation – added Dworczyk.

07:41

Dworczyk on Media Repolonization Act: Government Not Working on Such a Project

- I know for sure that the government is not working on any such project. I know what documents, what projects are in the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers, what is planned in the government's work schedule until the end of the year, and this project is certainly not there - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały Dnia" on Jedynka radio.

Przymusiński:

The Supreme Court Nomination Process Was a Farce
I can repeat it once more: the way the competition for the Supreme Court looked was a farce. We all saw the haste with which the National Judicial Council (KRS) proceeded, and now more and more information is emerging which shows that these documents were not analyzed – stated Bartłomiej Przymusiński in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:54

Schetyna:

I Was Astonished by the President's Statement on an Imaginary Community. The President is Engaged in PiS's Campaign While Undermining Poland's Reputation in the Free World

I was astonished by talk of an imaginary community in the context of Europe. Such statements sometimes appear during an election campaign, an emotional one, when someone wants to emphasize certain matters or reach a segment of the electorate, voters who are distant from foreign affairs. But that is not the case here. Here, the president is engaged in PiS's election campaign, wants to help PiS, and at the same time is completely overturning Poland's reputation, image, and his own position not only in Europe but in the free world. Such a statement will be quoted and sent by all embassies to the capitals of the world,” stated Civic Platform leader Grzegorz Schetyna during the morning program on Radio TOK FM.

07:55

Przymusiński:

Judges Belonging to Iustitia Who Decided to Run for the KRS Were Expelled from the Association
- Those judges who belonged to Iustitia and decided to run for the KRS have been expelled from the association. Here, Iustitia's stance that judges should not be elected to the KRS by politicians and should not agree to this is clear - stated Bartłomiej Przymusiński in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:58

Schetyna:

Poles Don't See the Connection Between PiS Policy and Poland's Diminishing Role in Europe

The issue of PiS's narrative, social transfers, a very pro-social policy, distributing money from one side – Poles don't see the connection between PiS's policy and the threat to Poland's position in Europe. Poles cannot imagine it. They accepted the European Union, they voted in a referendum, they want to be in the union. They cannot imagine that the actions PiS has been taking over the last months and three years are truly pushing us to the margins of the European Union” – said the Civic Platform (PO) leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on TOK FM Radio's Morning program.

08:08

Trzaskowski:

Halicki Replaced Me in the Shadow Cabinet

Yesterday [in the Shadow Cabinet], Andrzej Halicki replaced me – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:11

Trzaskowski:

This Week We Have Several Joint Appearances with Nowacka

- I have appeared many times with Paweł Rabiej, but indeed now, this week, we have several joint appearances with Barbara Nowacka. Later, Nowacka will travel around Poland, and Rabiej and I will certainly appear together at a few more conferences, which are particularly important to my partner in Civic Coalition – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:14

Trzaskowski:

Nowacka is a sign that Civic Coalition is expanding
- This [Barbara Nowacka] is a sign that Civic Coalition is expanding, that it is able to reach for new politicians who are very well-associated, who bring social sensitivity to the coalition - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:18

Trzaskowski:

I am not ashamed of Nowacka, Rabiej, or Gronkiewicz-Waltz

- I am not ashamed of Barbara Nowacka, Paweł Rabiej, or Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz. I value them all greatly, but it is natural for a presidential candidate to appear most often alone. Sometimes they present councillors, coalition councillor candidates, sometimes their colleagues - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:20

Trzaskowski:

Thanks to HGW's Governance, Warsaw Has Transformed Unrecognizably, for the Better

- Thanks to Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz governing Warsaw, Warsaw has changed unrecognizably, positively, for the better. 60% of Warsaw residents rate HGW's term positively. With the problem of the restitution scandal - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. - I, like most Warsaw residents, rate HGW's 12 years positively, because I see how my city has changed for the better. However, I do not downplay the restitution scandal - he added.

Mucha on Zawistowski's Support for Gersdorf: A Directive Stance Within Misunderstood Solidarity

- We still have in force the regulations contained in the Act on the Supreme Court. There is a provision, Article 14. If it is impossible to appoint a successor, then it is the oldest-serving president of a chamber of the Supreme Court. Until yesterday, such a president was Judge Józef Iwulski. Due to the fact that Judge Iwulski has retired, from today the oldest-serving president of a chamber is Judge Dariusz Zawistowski. This is not a result of an appointment by the President, it is a consequence that follows by operation of law – said Paweł Mucha in a conversation with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały Dnia" on Polish Radio Channel One.

- Now we return to the fact that the judge himself does not like this. I have great respect for Judge Zawistowski, however, these declarations, I don't want to say they are political, but it is such a directive stance, which consists in the fact that, within the framework of a sense of solidarity, in my opinion, a misunderstood solidarity with Professor Gersdorf, who is undoubtedly a retired judge, it is necessary to emphasize at every opportunity that she is the First President of the Supreme Court, and part of the judicial community does so, but I think this will not hinder Judge Zawistowski in the performance of his duties – added Mucha.

Trzaskowski on Jaki's Proposal: I Haven't Heard Anything Original, Besides an Attempt to Build a Dubai on the Vistula

I haven’t heard anything original, besides an attempt to build a Dubai on the Vistula. Have you seen those big boats they plan to park there? Besides that, that side of the Vistula, the wild side of the Vistula that everyone envies us, should remain wild with respect for the environment – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:42

Mucha:

We are determined for the Polish judiciary to function efficiently
We are determined for the judiciary in Poland to function efficiently. We are determined not to tolerate a situation where we have politician-judges. This is irrational, it doesn't happen anywhere else in the world, it cannot be this way because in the Polish constitution we have the principle of judicial independence, which includes the requirement for judges to be apolitical. A judge should not reveal their political views, their worldview, their religious beliefs. A judge should not engage in political activity - said Paweł Mucha in a conversation with Daniel Wydrych and Piotr Gociek on Polskie Radio Program 1's "Sygnały Dnia".

He Explicitly Stated Mandatory Vaccinations Infringe on Civil Liberty. PO Recalls Jaki's Words, Trzaskowski Presents 'Healthy Warsaw' Program
A citizen's bill, signed by over 100,000 people, has been submitted to the Sejm, and it is dangerous for the health of us all, and particularly the health of our children. This bill calls for the abolition of mandatory vaccinations, the abolition of the obligation to vaccinate children. Such a bill poses a real threat to the safety not only of us adults, but primarily our little ones. This bill will be debated in the Sejm, and it is a very dangerous situation that there are politicians in the Sejm who have previously supported such a bill, who have spoken loudly that the obligation to vaccinate should be abolished. One such politician, who explicitly stated that mandatory vaccinations infringe on civil liberty, is Patryk Jaki - stated Bartosz Arłukowicz at a briefing. - We are facing a situation where a candidate for the Mayor of Warsaw, the Deputy Minister of Justice, is appealing to the highest-ranking officials in Poland to abandon the mandatory nature of vaccinations, which could result in diseases not seen in Poland for decades spreading throughout the country - he continued. - In the coming days, we will be discussing health protection issues. These are very concrete proposals. We will continue the programs that have already been initiated in Warsaw, specifically, influenza vaccinations. Currently, we have such a program for seniors, and we want to extend it to children and pregnant women. An important matter, namely combination vaccines, 6-in-1 for children. These are vaccines that Varsovians often use, but which are not supported by the National Health Fund (NFZ). Here too, I commit that Warsaw will subsidize such vaccines. And finally, preventive vaccines for HPV for all girls aged 11-12. These are very specific commitments regarding the 'Healthy Warsaw' package, and we will present more proposals from this package in the coming days - stated Rafał Trzaskowski.

09:34

Trzaskowski:

Jaki's Latest Proposals Completely Disconnect from What Varsovians Want

- If Patryk Jaki takes professional advice from anyone, it might turn out well for him and his proposals, because his latest suggestions completely disconnect from what Varsovians want, from what Varsovians are talking about. Truly, the problem for Varsovians is not parking motorboats on the Vistula. If he seeks professional advice, it might do him some good - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a briefing.

Wassermann on Postponement of Tusk's Hearing: "No One Has Ever Influenced Me. I Don't See This as a Confrontation"

"I have never been influenced by anyone. I'll tell you more - if there were a situation where I was discussing this matter, likely with people who have greater foresight on how Roman Giertych would behave in the election campaign, they would probably have immediately suggested changing this date. Because the only people I consult with are the presidium of the commission, namely MP Krajewski and MP Rzymkowski, and we make such decisions. I made every decision like that, every witness is summoned by the commission without consulting anyone" - said Małgorzata Wassermann, the chairwoman of the Sejm's investigative committee on Amber Gold and a PiS candidate for Mayor of Krakow, in an interview with Radio Zet.

"I don't see this as a confrontation at all. Please understand, my role in this commission is one of service. And I would like it to be stated very clearly why the commission was established - especially when I hear some comments, particularly from commission members who don't know what they've been doing there for two years. The commission is not looking for gold. The commission is not looking for who is behind Marcin P. The subject of the commission's work is to hold accountable the offices and institutions that were negligent, allowing this company to operate for three years" - she added.

09:46

Wassermann:

The Final Report is Practically Ready, as it was Written Concurrently

The report is practically ready because it was written concurrently. I was aware that such material could not be left until the committee's conclusion and months of writing, so as we finished a given thread, we were preparing the report. This is obviously not a report ready for publication” - stated Małgorzata Wassermann on Radio Zet.

Who Will Be Placed on the Electoral Lists Instead of the Current PO Councilors: Platforma, Choose Wisely; It Will Be a Testament to Your Morality

- You can say anything. Rafał Trzaskowski says everyone is to blame for reprivatization, that they distance themselves from it. It's about responsibility. Responsibility for the people who led to the vote to relocate the middle school at Twarda Street in the City Council of the Capital City of Warsaw. We're conducting a check. Whether these councilors will be on the lists in a few days or not. Those who enforced voting discipline allowed this property to be moved. The City Council of the Capital City of Warsaw is there to control the President of the Capital, to conduct ongoing oversight of the President's activities. What kind of oversight was that? It was the rubber-stamping of all the wild reprivatizations in Warsaw. That's why the time has come. Do you want to continue to have these people who are responsible for the thieving reprivatization? Do you want them on the lists any longer? If you want an honest Warsaw, these people should not be on the lists for the city council. Platforma, choose wisely; it will be a testament to your morality – said Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

10:32

Wassermann:

I Don't Want to be Marshal of the Sejm. I Wanted and Still Deeply Want to Become Mayor of Krakow

I don't want to be Marshal of the Sejm. This information is coming from various sources trying to weaken my chances for the mayor of Krakow. I wanted and still deeply want to become mayor of Krakow. This isn't a matter of ambition. I love my city and I would like it to be different – more just, more green” - Małgorzata Wassermann said on Radio Zet.

Ardanowski:

It Would Be Vile If Opposition Local Officials Exploited Farmers' Misfortune for Political Battles
- The condition for activating state aid is the farmer providing an assessment protocol, verified, accepted, and signed by the voivodeship office. We have a problem here because these assessment protocols from the municipalities are arriving very slowly. I don't know the reason why, as the assessments concluded a long time ago – said Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- There are voices from various regions of Poland suggesting that this is an element of political maneuvering before the local government elections, an attempt to portray the government as not helping farmers, while simultaneously withholding all necessary documents. It would be wrong, I don't want to use strong words, but it would be vile if farmers' misfortune were exploited by opposition local officials for political battles against the government. Farmers should not be victims of local politics being played out – the Minister of Agriculture added.

Civic Platform: PiS Politicians Trying to Shut Down Discussion on Kaczyński's Mysterious Involvement in Early Release of VAT Fraud Convict

- I absolutely do not understand why the next session [of the parliamentary committee on VAT] is no longer open to the mass media. It's not secret, of course; after a few days, you'll learn from the minutes about the course of the discussion. That will only happen after a few days. I don't quite understand, because the discussion on evidentiary motions is a substantive discussion where different views clash, and it's worthwhile for the public to have immediate, ongoing information about how the discussion is proceeding and what arguments are being put forward by the ruling party or the opposition – stated Zbigniew Konwiński at a briefing in the Sejm. - It's unprofessional that committee members find out from the media when a witness will be heard – he added. The Civic Platform MP announced that he would submit a motion to question Jacek Rostowski first, not Witold Modzelewski.

- Chairman Horała and PiS MPs serving on the VAT committee not only do not want to investigate the years 2016-2018, for which period they are, of course, responsible, but are also trying by all means to somehow shut down the discussion about the very mysterious involvement of President Jarosław Kaczyński in the early release from serving a sentence of Zbigniew D., who defrauded nearly a million zlotys from VAT alone – said Arkadiusz Myrcha. As he informed, the Civic Platform club is submitting a request to the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) to conduct investigative actions in this matter.

PiS's Beata Mazurek has already responded to the conference.

Wojciechowicz:

The In Vitro Program Will Be Maintained, and if Necessary, Developed

- I wanted to inform you about our program, or rather remind you, regarding sex education, in vitro fertilization, and HPV vaccinations. We are doing this because recently one of the candidates was quite evasive on the issue of in vitro, and another candidate, while talking about the in vitro program, has seen the Civic Platform long unable to decide on this program. I want to say that in our program, the in vitro program, the one that is currently in Warsaw, will be maintained, and if there is a need, it will be developed. This is an extremely important program, especially for those who cannot have children - stated Jacek Wojciechowicz at a briefing.

When asked if he would go to Cafe Jaki today and join Patryk Jaki's appeal to support him against Rafał Trzaskowski, he replied that he does not intend to trade votes of Warsaw residents. - My candidacy is aimed at reclaiming Warsaw from the hands of a party, for its residents - he announced. He also added that he does not know such a restaurant and does not know if it is Hungarian or Bulgarian cuisine, so he does not plan to visit it.

12:22

Terlecki:

Sejm Chancellery Must Respond to Attempts to Smuggle People in Trunk

- This is not a ban for Ryszard Petru and a general ban on cars entering, but a necessity to inspect the trunks of MPs in a situation where MPs are bringing other people onto Sejm grounds in their trunks - said Ryszard Terlecki in an interview with journalists.

- On the one hand, it is a comedy, a cabaret, and something that ridicules MPs and the groups behind them, but on the other hand, it is a security threat to all MPs, because one doesn't know what might come to someone's mind now to bring in the trunk. We must, the Sejm Chancellery must somehow react to this - added the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

12:36

WKK:

Poland Enters History as the Country That Stopped Daylight Saving Time in Europe

- We will talk about daylight saving time, which will remain in Poland permanently. Today, the President of the European Commission announced that the European Commission will withdraw the directive concerning the time change. This will make it even easier to permanently keep daylight saving time in Poland. Two years ago, MP Marek Sawicki, on behalf of our club, submitted a bill to permanently implement daylight saving time in Poland. Changing the time makes no sense, there is no economic necessity, and there are health contraindications – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in the Sejm.

- The time change requires our bodies to readjust, which sometimes takes a week or two. This is very bad for children who have to get up for school, for parents, but also for seniors. It is associated with health problems, depression, sleep-wake cycle disorders, heart attacks, and also with an increase in road accidents, which are observed during and immediately after the time change. There is a very good report from the Republican Foundation on this matter. Another issue is returning home from school or work. We leave when it's dark and return when it's dark. Let's give children an hour to spend time outdoors. So that our children don't come home after dark – stated Kosiniak-Kamysz.

- Economic matters. The change was introduced in 1916 in Germany, at that time it was said that for economic reasons, daylight should be utilized as much as possible. Today, factories operate under artificial lighting. There are problems with airlines, flight schedules, and trains. For banking institutions, and especially for their customers, it is a problem with payments and transactions carried out online. There is confusion with resetting clocks and IT systems. There is also a problem with the readjustment of domestic and farm animals – continued the PSL chairman.

- Hence our initiative, the European Parliament's resolution, the commission's decision, after consultations with over four million people, it was decided that the time change should not be made. Poland enters history as the country that stopped daylight saving time in Europe. We can be proud of this. We are proud that the PSL was the initiator of this, both in Poland and in Europe. There is a chance to do this as soon as possible. We demand from the Marshal of the Sejm to introduce the bill, which was unanimously supported by all clubs in the committee, for today's or tomorrow's proceedings. This bill has already had its first reading. We can vote on it in this session or at the first one in October. Then there will be no more time change. Let's do everything to make it happen – added Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Ziobro Presents Criminal Procedure Reform:

I Promised Quick and Efficient Courts. I Keep My Word.

- I promised quick and efficient courts. I keep my word. Today's presented amendment, a profound change to the criminal procedure, developed in the Ministry of Justice, aims primarily to speed up the course of proceedings and to deal with the obstruction used by parties in criminal proceedings. Themis should be blind, but she shouldn't be ridiculous. A judge who has to spend many hours, sometimes in an empty courtroom, reading out a verdict with justification, risks such an accusation - stated Zbigniew Ziobro at the conference.

- This ridiculousness must end. We must focus on seriousness and swift justice. (…) These changes serve to lead the courts out of the land of absurdity and guide justice along paths that quickly lead to a resolution of cases. We are eliminating futile procedures and introducing solutions that respect the procedural guarantees of the accused, but do not allow for such ostentatious torpedoing and dragging out of cases - he added.

According to the ministry, the proposed solutions serve to improve, simplify, and expedite court proceedings. This is an element of the grand reform program "Justice and Security," announced in April 2018 by Zbigniew Ziobro. The main assumptions of the reform are:

  • No speaking to an empty courtroom

  • Clear justification on a form

  • End of reading volumes of files

  • Sick leave will not block proceedings

  • Strict adherence to deadlines

  • Abandonment of unnecessary interrogations

  • Reading out testimonies instead of interrogations

  • Balance between courts of two instances

  • Even distribution of workload

  • Court mail to a P.O. box

  • Facilitation for the disabled

  • Courts for judging, not for investigation

ACTA 2 Adopted by the European Parliament. Civic Platform MEPs Supported Restrictions on Internet Users' Rights

The European Parliament has supported the draft directive on copyright in the Digital Single Market, commonly known as ACTA 2. 438 MEPs voted in favor, while 226 voted against.

Civic Platform MEPs openly boasted about their support for the directive, which restricts internet users' rights and introduces de facto censorship online, on social media – including Michał Boni and Bogdan Zdrojewski.

Szczerski on the President's Words in Leżajsk: I am Surprised that This Voice is Considered Controversial by Some Media and Opposition Politicians

Today is a day, thanks to the debate in Strasbourg, a day of discussion about the future of the EU and the state of the EU. In the context of this discussion, the President's voice resonated very strongly, and it should be interpreted as a strong voice in this discussion about the condition, state, and future of the EU, a voice the President made yesterday during a meeting with the residents of Leżajsk. I am very surprised that this voice is considered controversial in Poland by some media and opposition politicians, because it is a just voice, secondly a strong one, and thirdly it is difficult to consider a voice that says the EU should be built from the ground up as controversial. Europe cannot be built from top to bottom. One cannot create an artificial community imposed on states, but rather one must build on the real will and commitment of EU citizens to the community” - said Minister Krzysztof Szczerski at a press conference.

13:52

Szczerski:

It's Impossible for the President to Break Polish Law by Awaiting a Decision from an External Body
In Poland, we must act in accordance with the law. The President must adhere to the provisions of law adopted through a democratic, open process within parliamentary work. It is impossible for the President to break Polish law by awaiting a decision from an external body. This is impossible. The President, as the guardian of the constitution and the law, must act in accordance with Polish law,    Minister Krzysztof Szczerski commented on the situation surrounding the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Judge: After My Leave, I Will Report for Duty, at the Chamber President's Disposal, and We'll See

- If I receive a letter from the President informing me that I am going into retirement on a specific date, I believe we remain active judges, but we will refrain from performing duties. This isn't about us or about demonstrating our disagreement; it's about the cases of people, of citizens - stated Maria Szulc in an interview with Justyna Dobrosz-Oracz for Wyborcza.pl. The Supreme Court judge, who is set to retire, also said: - I am going on leave, so after my leave is used up, of course, I will report for duty, at the chamber president's disposal, and we'll see.

Poręba:

Our Civic Platform colleagues voted to reduce internet freedoms. It's a disgrace, a shame, and a humiliation.

Today's vote [on ACTA 2] is indeed a very harmful vote. Today, the European Parliament has voted in favour of very serious restrictions on free access to the internet. PiS voted against this proposal. Our colleagues from Civic Platform voted to reduce internet freedoms. It's a disgrace, a shame, and a humiliation for our colleagues – stated Tomasz Poręba at a briefing.

For instance, [provisions] that state that now, before anyone wants to post any entry, information regarding sports, cultural, or political events, before it is placed on a given platform, it will be checked, it can be restricted, verified under the banner that it violates copyright. This is a very dangerous provision, crucial from the perspective of this directive, this regulation – added the PiS MEP.

Mazurek:

The Platforma Yearns for Censorship

Beata Mazurek, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, has accused the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska) of longing for censorship. In a tweet posted on September 11, 2018, Mazurek stated: "The Platforma is nostalgic for the times when they could control the media and silence dissenting voices. They miss the censorship."

This statement comes amid ongoing political tensions in Poland, particularly concerning media freedom and the role of public broadcasting. The ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, to which Mazurek belongs, has been criticized by some opposition parties and international organizations for perceived efforts to influence the media landscape. Conversely, PiS argues that its actions are aimed at ensuring media pluralism and correcting perceived biases.

The Civic Platform, a major opposition party, has consistently voiced concerns about what it views as government interference in the media. They argue that this interference undermines democratic principles and limits public access to diverse information. Mazurek's accusation suggests that the Civic Platform's calls for media freedom are, in fact, a desire to reinstate their own control over media narratives, rather than a genuine commitment to open discourse.

In New Spot, Nitras Promotes His Idea for a 24/7 Youth Support Center in Szczecin

In the latest spot of his campaign for the presidency of Szczecin, Sławomir Nitras is promoting his initiative to launch a 24/7 Youth Support Center.

"One place in the city center where everyone struggling with depression, nervous breakdown, problems at school, at home, drug or alcohol addiction, bulimia, or anorexia can receive help from a psychiatrist, psychologist, gynecologist, sexologist. Everyone who needs help, free of charge, anonymously, without a referral, will receive help 24/7," says Nitras.

According to the creators of the recently high-profile social campaign Zobacz znikam (See I Disappear), Poland ranks second in Europe in terms of juvenile suicides. In 2017, 469 people under the age of 24 committed suicide in Poland, and as many as 5,276 suicide attempts were recorded.

But I spoke earlier about a conservative anchor to ensure it remains a centrist party with strong liberal, social, and also conservative elements. This is happening today. Łukasz Rzepecki, a politician associated with the Law and Justice (PiS) party, has issued a strong statement directed at Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from the Civic Platform (PO). He urges them to feel ashamed and not to return to Poland from Brussels.

The statement, shared via Twitter, conveys Rzepecki's dissatisfaction with the actions or positions taken by PO MEPs within the European Parliament. While the specific reasons for this strong rebuke are not detailed in the provided text, it implies a significant disagreement with their political agenda or decisions made on behalf of Poland in the EU.

Rzepecki's rhetoric suggests a deep-seated political divide and a high level of animosity between the two major political forces in Poland. The call for MEPs not to return to the country implies a desire for them to remain accountable for their actions abroad and perhaps suggests that their presence in Poland would be unwelcome or detrimental.

Before Meeting Counter-Candidates: "We Want Honest People to Govern Warsaw in November"

I hope we can start the meeting shortly, which has one goal. We want honest people to govern Warsaw in November. So that there is no fourth term for Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz. Enough with the rule of the reprivatization mafia in Warsaw, which is why I am very keen to discuss not fragmenting votes. Perhaps we will be able to find some common programmatic elements with other candidates, which will allow us to go to the elections together. If one or two people agreed with this way of thinking, that would be very good news. This means that Rafał Trzaskowski will continue to be the president of the capital city of Warsaw” – said Patryk Jaki before a meeting with some of his counter-candidates in the Warsaw presidential elections.

16:35

Jaki:

Trzaskowski is Just a Pretty Face. We Know Who Will Govern Warsaw. The Kierwiński Circle Will Govern Warsaw. Kierwiński is the Real Mayor of Warsaw.

Rafał Trzaskowski is effectively Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz's fourth term. Rafał Trzaskowski is nothing more than a pretty face, and behind him stands… We know who will govern Warsaw. The circle of Marcin Kierwiński will govern Warsaw. Kierwiński is the real mayor of Warsaw. If we do not want the rule of Marcin Kierwiński and Grzegorz Schetyna, we must seek a broad coalition that will make Warsaw finally honest, because on the centenary of regaining independence, Warsaw deserves to be honest” - said Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

Trzaskowski Presents Proposals for Bielany: Cultural Center, Park, Educational Infrastructure
Firstly, the creation of a very modern cultural center, right here on Serek Bielański. This has been received very positively by interested circles, but also by the residents themselves, who are in great need of such a cultural center. They won't have to travel to the city center to meet artists and admire their works. The second issue is Wawrzyszewski Park, encompassing the so-called Wawrzyszew meadow. We very much want to care for these green areas in many districts. In most districts, we will protect existing green spaces and expand those that residents need. It is often said here that this place should be a green area, not another site for development, which is why I am making this proposal. The third issue concerns education, educational infrastructure. This is an incredibly important matter that arises in all districts, including here in Bielany. We are clearly stating that we will modernize and expand educational facilities. Several schools require modernization, such as the school on Conrad Street. At a time when we are dealing with the education reform that PiS has imposed on us, we must ensure that this infrastructure is as good as possible – said Rafał Trzaskowski during the presentation of program proposals for the residents of the Bielany district.

Zabłocki:

I Haven't Decided Yet Whether to Seek Legal Protection from Domestic Courts or International Tribunals

- I cannot, at this time, answer questions directed at me regarding whether, in light of the situation I have been placed in, I will seek legal protection from domestic courts or international tribunals. I cannot answer these questions because I have not yet made a decision on this matter. This is likely because decades of legal practice have taught me not to make decisions on the spur of the moment, and especially without appropriate emotional composure. I need a little more time to make such a decision and to find an answer to the question of whether I will be more concerned with proving the irregularities of the ruling made against me, or if I will prioritize another important rationale over this one: the question of whether I, as a judge, want to litigate against my State, on behalf of which I myself have administered justice for years. Of one thing I am convinced today. Even if I made a "yes" decision and, for example, availed myself of a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights, following the path laid out in the case of Baka v. Hungary, I can declare with absolute certainty today that I would donate every eurocent potentially awarded to me to a noble social cause. On this matter, I can make a public promise today. I would not be fighting for compensation and satisfaction in this situation, but solely for the law to be applied in a righteous manner - wrote Judge Stanisław Zabłocki in a statement. - I will feel that I am a judge in active service, not a judge in retirement, until July 5, 2020, which is the day I turn 70 years old - he added.

Trzaskowski:

Abolishing Mandatory Vaccinations is Dangerous. My Competitor Wholeheartedly Supported Such a Project
This entire anti-vaccination movement is something that is ultimately very dangerous. We are dealing with new epidemics of diseases that seemed to have disappeared from Europe. Generally, trying to abolish mandatory vaccinations is simply dangerous for children. Indeed, such a project is now in the Sejm. My competitor was one of those who wholeheartedly supported such a project, it's also important to talk about this. I believe that the preventive programs that the city can support, when it comes to vaccines, should be expanded – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a Town Hall Meeting with the residents of Bielany.

Spychalski:

President Duda Wants a Strong Polish Membership in the EU. He Wanted to Ask About Constitutional Regulation of Membership in a Referendum
I specifically brought the referendum questions that President Duda sent to the Senate. The sixth question: are you for the constitutional regulation of Poland's membership in the EU and NATO, respecting the principles of state sovereignty and the supremacy of the Polish Constitution? President Duda wants strong Polish membership in the EU – stated Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on Polsat News, when asked about President Andrzej Duda's words about the EU and accusations of a potential Polexit. We want Poland's membership in the EU. The President even wanted to constitutionally guarantee Poland's membership in the EU – added the presidential minister.

Jaki Thanks Counter-Candidates for Joint Discussions: "This is the Better Side of Politics in This Campaign"

Patryk Jaki, a prominent figure in Polish politics, expressed his gratitude to his political opponents for engaging in constructive dialogue during the current election campaign. In a statement that suggests a departure from typical adversarial political discourse, Jaki highlighted these shared discussions as a positive aspect of the campaign.

The sentiment, shared via his Twitter account ([https://twitter.com/patrykjaki/status/1039930442131144704?s=12](https://twitter.com/patrykjaki/status/1039930442131144704?s=12)), indicates a desire for a more civil and issue-focused political environment. By acknowledging the value of these interactions, Jaki appears to be promoting a more collaborative approach to campaigning, emphasizing the potential for political figures to engage in meaningful conversations despite their differing viewpoints. This perspective, if widely adopted, could signal a shift towards a more mature and productive political landscape in Poland.

Zawistowski:

The Law Could Not Shorten This Term. The First President Is Performing Her Duties
- For a lawyer, this is obvious because we have an exceptionally clear situation, because the constitution explicitly states that the term of office of the First President of the Supreme Court lasts six years. The interpretation of this provision is quite simple. The law could not shorten this term. The situation is that the First President is performing her duties. I can temporarily substitute for Madam Professor if she is absent – said Dariusz Zawistowski in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - The situation is identical to the one that occurred previously, when President Iwulski held a similar position. Here, the change concerns the person substituting, not the structure – added Zawistowski.

20:02

Zawistowski:

The interpretation is that the regulation allowing forced retirement of judges is unconstitutional

- I fully agree with the assessment of President Zabłocki that in the eyes of the law, they are still Supreme Court judges. The Constitution guarantees their independence and their inability to be removed from their profession. The interpretation of the regulations is also that the regulation which allowed for the transition or forced retirement of judges upon reaching the age of 65, in the opinion of the Supreme Court judges, and there was indeed such a resolution, was incompatible with the constitution - said Dariusz Zawistowski in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

Mucha:

Judge Serving as First President of the Supreme Court is President Dariusz Zawistowski

The Act on the Supreme Court stipulates that the most senior judge among the presidents of the Supreme Court chambers shall perform the function of the First President when the First President cannot designate their deputy. Until yesterday, this situation concerned Judge Iwulski. As of today, the judge with the longest judicial tenure is President Dariusz Zawistowski, and it can be said that he is performing these duties” – Minister Paweł Mucha stated on TVP Info's „Gość Wiadomości”.

I trust that we will stop talking only about judges and personnel matters, but will discuss the efficient functioning of the Supreme Court, and that these processes will lead to the achievement of the goal, which is the reform of the judiciary, but also the efficient operation of the Supreme Court within this reform” – he added.

Sasin:

PiS is the party that has always been pro-European

- My opinion is that we are a member of the EU. A good, loyal member of the EU. We fulfill our commitments within the EU. We want to be, PiS is the party that has always been pro-European - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i," when asked about President Andrzej Duda's words.

PO Competitors Voted for Attempt to Impose Internet Censorship

- Our competitors from Civic Platform, contrary to what they said just two months ago, that they would never endorse this attempt to impose internet censorship, today voted for these decisions - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Monika Olejnik on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (Point Over the i).
