At 10:00 AM, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk will participate in the signing of an agreement for the expansion of national road no. 8 on the Wrocław - Kłodzko section. At 10:30 AM in Warsaw, the Civic Coalition's local government convention will begin, which – as the party's politicians emphasize – is intended to be the de facto launch of the election campaign for Platforma and Nowoczesna. In Dąbrowa Górnicza, the inauguration of the SLD Lewica Razem local government campaign will take place. The start is at 12:00 PM, with Włodzimierz Czarzasty's speech scheduled for 12:15 PM.

Today, President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda will also participate in the National Reading event – Stefan Żeromski's "Przedwiośnie".

Poręba Unveils Website Detailing PO's Unfulfilled Promises

- Today is a day when the Civic Platform is also holding its convention. In connection with this, we suspect that more promises will be made at the Civic Platform's conference, and after all, credibility is the most important thing in politics. Credibility of keeping one's word, fulfilling promises, of individuals, of parties that have made dozens of promises in recent years when they were in power, and yet implemented virtually none. Today, we are asking the Civic Platform: what about your promises from 2007-2015, your dozens of promises that you made to Poles, hundreds of promises that you also made to Poles in the regions? That is why today, in all regions of Poland, PiS is organizing conferences and asking the Civic Platform why you did not implement specific strategic, important investments in individual cities, regions, and yet today you are trying to promise Poles more things again? - stated Tomasz Poręba at the conference.

- We will inform Poles about these unfulfilled promises on a special website that we have created in connection with today's Civic Platform convention. www.programPO.pl - informed the head of the PiS campaign. - Today, on the day of its convention, we are asking the Civic Platform: where are the important promises, the kept word, your programs that you promised to Poles, or the investments, various types of ventures, that are not here and probably won't be for a long time? - he added.

PMM:

We Established the Largest Local Road Fund in the Third Polish Republic

- Such a road, the S8 expressway, will save so many human lives, but thanks to Law and Justice, it will also contribute to the development of these lands. In addition to this major artery, the S8, which will run south of the Wrocław bypass motorway, it will extend to Kłodzko and later also to Kudowa, to the border with the Czech Republic. We have already established the largest local road fund in the Third Polish Republic. For comparison, Platforma and PSL spent about five billion zlotys on local roads from the state budget over eight years. That is as much, or even less, than we will spend on local roads in one year, including this year - said Mateusz Morawiecki after signing the agreement for the expansion of national road number 8, on the Wrocław-Kłodzko section.

11:00

Schetyna:

This is a Battle for Free Local Governments
We have local government elections ahead of us, perhaps the most important in 29 years. The fight for Poland's future is beginning. Battles, one after another, that will decide whether we will live in the East or the West of Europe - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition (KO) convention. It will be decided whether we will be a proud, secure nation, or whether we will be plunged into chaos, hatred, and complete isolation for years to come - he added. Are we in Europe, or will Poland belong to Poles, or to the party nomenclature, or will we be able to be one community - Schetyna asked. From today, every day, we will fight for a decent and prosperous Poland - said the PO leader. This is a battle for free local governments, for people to be able to decide for themselves how they spend their money - he said.

11:02

Schetyna:

They are coming to destroy local governments

- They are coming to destroy local governments. They don't need them for anything. What's more, they hinder the building of a party monolith that evokes the worst associations - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition (KO) convention. - A strong local government is not the enemy of the government. Only a strong local government gives a strong Polish state. This is our goal - he added.

11:05

Schetyna:

Today, Nowacka and her circle join us

- Today, Barbara Nowacka and her circle are joining us. They will be on our joint lists in the local elections, and later, I hope, in the European Parliament and parliamentary elections - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition (KO) convention.

- You represent what Poles so desperately need: modernity, economic freedom, fidelity to tradition. Thanks to you, authentic sensitivity, determination in helping the weakest, and at the same time respect for freedom are present in Polish politics - he continued.

- Welcome, Barbara, to KO. Welcome to you and your circle with your social sensitivity and ideas for the most just Poland - added the PO leader.

11:06

Schetyna:

Today We Fight for the Survival of Democratic Self-Government in Poland

- It turns out there are too many good lords. There are thousands of PiS followers, they no longer fit in Warsaw, at the central level, in offices, companies, agencies. There is such a crowd today that you can't even squeeze a pin in there. So they start to quarrel, to snatch money, positions, privileges from each other. The only way is to head out into Poland, there is new space for them there. That's what they need today, and they don't care if they destroy self-government in the process, they don't ponder on that. We are here together because in these elections, for the first time since 1990, we are not fighting for which party will have a majority in local governments. Today we are fighting for the survival of democratic self-government in Poland – said Grzegorz Schetyna during the Civic Coalition convention.

11:17

Schetyna:

PiS is also Putin's Lobbyist in Polish Energy Policy

- PiS is not only Putin's most loyal lobbyist in European politics – by fighting the EU, by destroying the unity of our continent. PiS is also Putin's lobbyist in Polish energy policy - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition convention.

- PiS had to thank for the Falenta tapes, for the wiretaps that hit the Polish state and the Polish government, therefore, under this party's rule, in 2017 alone, the import of Russian coal to Poland increased by more than half - he continued. As he announced, the first thing that will be done after taking power is to end the procedure of importing trash and toxic waste into Poland.

11:24

Schetyna Presents Civic Coalition's 6 Commitments

- Poles are waiting for specifics. Here are six commitments from the Civic Coalition - said Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition convention. Among the proposals, the head of PO mentioned a school of equal opportunities, friendly to children and families, the elimination of heavy schoolbags, restoring the prestige of the teaching profession, raising salaries, free public transport tickets for children and young learners, assistance for seniors – an obligatory task for local governments in Poland, the fight against smog, completing the schetynówki and orlik projects, an end to the dual authority of voivodes and marshals, and introducing the principle: one manager in the region, and it will be a local government manager.

- We will build a state that will create conditions for Poles to live a normal and happy life - he continued. - Everything is in the hands of Polish women and men. Poland has a future, and everything is in our hands, in your hands - he concluded.

PMM Tweets During KO Convention:

The Common Denominator of PiS's Programs is a Plus. The Opposition Wants to Change it to a Minus.

11:27

Schetyna:

The Farmer Seeks a Government, Needs Help, and the PiS Government is Absent
Local government is always a better steward of its region than an official appointed in Warsaw. We are facing a similar situation during the current drought disaster. The PiS government likes to lecture farmers on whom they should vote for, what they should choose. It has limited their ability to trade their own land, which has led to a drop in land prices and depleted their assets. However, when drought destroys grain, fruit, and vegetable harvests, and the farmer seeks a government, needs help, the PiS government is nowhere to be found – said Grzegorz Schetyna during the Civic Coalition convention.

11:32

Lubanauer:

Women Will Bring Down This Government

- Women will win these elections. I hear their voices at every meeting, and believe me, there have been dozens of them recently, because the Civic Coalition is being built everywhere in Poland. We travel everywhere to support it with our presence. Poles live everywhere. Women will bring down this government - said Katarzyna Lubanauer during the Civic Coalition convention.

11:36

Nowacka:

Difficult Times Demand Unity From Us
Difficult times require exceptional courage from us. Difficult times also demand unity from us. Difficult times require a fight for the foundations of modernity. Freedom, equality, solidarity, and fraternity. Difficult times demand a fight for the victory of good and justice over lawlessness and injustice – stated Barbara Nowacka during the KO convention. - Together, we will fight for an open, friendly, and just Poland, one that does not sort or scorn, does not exclude or humiliate. A Poland that leaves no one behind, one that turns towards the poorest and the excluded – she added.

11:38

Lubnauer:

The Stakes of These Elections Are High; Poland Itself is at Stake

- After victory in the local government battles, we will fight for better representation of Poland in Europe, and then for a change of government, for one that respects rights, that unites, not divides, that seeks effective solutions for Polish women and men. Women, girls, everything depends on you. Change Poland for the better. Bring your husbands, brothers, and sons. Every vote counts, every vote brings us closer to victory. The stakes of these elections are high; Poland itself is at stake – said Katarzyna Lubnauer during the Civic Coalition convention.

11:39

Nowacka:

It's Time for a Clear Stance

- This is not a time for divisions, it is a time for a clear stance on whether we are on the side of law and freedom, or on the side of authoritarian rule, chaos, and appropriation - stated Barbara Nowacka during the KO convention.

11:53

Trzaskowski:

We won't treat those who voted for us any better. We will treat everyone equally
Warsaw is a symbol of success, a European, open, dynamic city that we are all truly proud of – stated Rafał Trzaskowski during the KO convention. – Warsaw must be for everyone. Secondly, that it must be built to the measure of our common aspirations. And thirdly, that Warsaw deserves to be spoken of seriously – he continued. – We don't want to exclude anyone. This is the absolute credo of my campaign, but also of KO. We won't treat those who voted for us any better. We will treat everyone equally – stated the KO candidate for the President of Warsaw. He also announced that he would like to mend Warsaw.

12:00

Trzaskowski:

We Need Full Mobilization. Nothing is Decided

- We need full mobilization. Nothing is decided. I wanted to ask everyone for support, for their vote. These elections will have an absolutely fundamental significance. You know, together we will win and Warsaw will truly be for everyone - stated Rafał Trzaskowski during the Civic Coalition convention.

12:02

Trzaskowski:

No Place for Racism, Fascism, or Xenophobia in Warsaw
Warsaw is open, regardless of where you were born; Warsaw is for everyone, regardless of their economic or financial situation, their views, their sexual preferences, or their age. Warsaw is for everyone, whether they are from Bielany or Białołęka. Warsaw is for everyone – this is the most important thing, because we want to create common and equal opportunities for all. We want all our cities and towns to be built on respect. There will be no place for one thing in our cities; I am announcing this to you. In Warsaw, there will be no place for racism, fascism, or xenophobia – said Rafał Trzaskowski at the Civic Coalition convention.

Kuba Hartwich and Adrian Glinka to Run on Civic Coalition Lists

Kuba Hartwich and Adrian Glinka will be candidates on the Civic Coalition (KO) electoral lists.

12:23

Czarzasty:

We Want a Secular State, Religion Outside Schools, Denunciation of the Concordat, and Taxation of the Clergy
- We believe that it cannot be the case that the only unifying factor in building any coalition is hatred of PiS. We believe that the future of Poland, the way it will look programmatically after PiS, is more important than hatred. As social democracy, we want a secular state, with religion outside of schools, the denunciation of the concordat, the taxation of the clergy, and the clergy being treated equally under the law, just like all citizens - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during the SLD convention in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

12:25

Nitras:

It is Our Responsibility to Turn Poland Towards Europe

- It is our duty to show the world a Poland focused on cooperation, building, and understanding fellow human beings. No one in Europe needs a struggling Poland, no one is waiting for us to lament how bad things are. Everyone is waiting for Poland as a modern country, ready to cooperate - stated Sławomir Nitras during the Civic Coalition (KO) convention. - It is our responsibility to turn Poland towards Europe, freedom, and democracy, and respect for fellow human beings - he added.

12:29

Czarzasty:

I Don't Believe Civic Platform Will Address Women's Rights

- This will be the case with Barbara Nowacka. I don't believe Civic Platform will address women's rights. I don't believe they will suddenly address issues of partnership unions. I don't believe the rich will pay higher taxes and the poor lower ones. I don't believe the lowered retirement age will be maintained - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during the SLD convention in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

12:46

PJK:

From our opponents' convention, we once again heard the battle trumpets

- From our opponents' convention, we once again heard the battle trumpets. We even learned that we are Putin's ambassadors. Well, I don't know how I would feel in that ambassadorial uniform. Our response is: citizen, local government, state, common work, common work for this goal. That is our only answer - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS regional convention in Wrocław.

12:55

PJK:

We Have a Program for Local Governments, Developed Through Dialogue

- We have a program for local governments, and it's a program developed through dialogue. We have held hundreds, truly hundreds of meetings across the country. We talked with various people, and from these conversations, as well as consultations with specialists from different fields, our program was created. A program that is connected to reality, that is practical, that is not based on any invented reality, on something that doesn't exist. We stick to the facts, we keep our feet on the ground - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a convention in Wrocław.

12:58

Kaczyński:

These Various Principalities and Duchies Will Begin to Disappear in Poland

- We will pursue this goal. We will pursue it through cooperation, but also through the fact that these various, independent, tiny, larger, and sometimes quite large principalities and duchies, where much is said about democracy, but in reality people are afraid, a conspiracy of silence prevails, a conspiracy of silence against evil, will begin to disappear in Poland. I spoke about this many years ago, I repeat it today. We are not going into power to settle scores harshly, but we will not allow such phenomena to exist in Poland – said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS regional convention in Wrocław.

13:03

PJK:

There is no democratic state without local governments. This is obvious to us

- We are a democratic formation, and everyone who belongs to such a formation knows, or at least should know, that territorial self-government in a democratic state is as obvious as elections, competing political parties, parliament, a government appointed and dismissed by parliament, as well as suffrage, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, etc. Simply put, there is no democratic state without local governments. This is obvious to us. We have known this for a very long time - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a convention in Wrocław. - Polish local governments have far-reaching powers. We do not want to undermine or diminish them in any way. We only want cooperation, synergy - he added.

13:08

PJK:

We are deeply convinced that it is worthwhile to form coalitions in individual voivodeships, municipalities, cities, and counties that will be different from those in Warsaw
We believe we will win these [local government] elections. We are convinced of this. But we are also deeply convinced that it is worthwhile to form coalitions in individual voivodeships, municipalities, cities, and counties that will be different from those in Warsaw. This is simply a normal, practical democratic approach - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a convention in Wrocław. - What was imposed by Civic Platform many years ago, namely symmetry between these coalitions, is something completely contrary to the rules of democracy - he added.

13:29

PMM:

We Offer a Strong Local Government Managed by Law and Justice Hosts
Recall these examples. Pszczyna, Białogard, commercialized local government medical units, hospitals. They went bankrupt after a few years. They shut down entire departments and caused great harm to residents as well. This is the path our political opponents are treading. This is what they are trying to do. Privatize local governments. As we say, Poland is one. Just as the President said. The citizen, the local government, and the state. Only in this way can we look at our lives holistically. After all, every citizen looking at things with common sense knows that their life consists of their immediate surroundings, but also of national goods. 500+ would not exist without the Polish state, without this change. 300+, national roads, highways would not exist. This would not exist without an efficiently functioning state, so with such a holistic approach, we offer a strong local government, effective small homelands, managed by the hosts of Law and Justice – said Mateusz Morawiecki during the PiS regional convention in Wrocław.

13:35

PM Morawiecki: I Don't Know Why They Formed a Shadow Cabinet Now. They Basically Had a Shadow Cabinet for 8 Years
- I don't know why they formed a shadow cabinet now. They basically had a shadow cabinet for 8 years. But seriously, can anyone name someone from their shadow cabinet? They've forgotten about them themselves, it's just performative actions. These are the governments of PO and PSL - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Wrocław.

13:36

PM:

Today, on their slide, they listed sins. What they failed to do for 8 years

- Today, on their slide, although I am the master of PowerPoint, but they are attaching themselves to our successes, today on their slide they listed a list of sins. What they failed to do for 8 years - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Wrocław.

13:40

Czarzasty Presents a Pact for the Opposition in Local Elections
I would like to present the following pact to parties that consider themselves to be in opposition. Let us establish three principles. Principle one: We all ensure the fairness of the local elections. Principle two: In the second round of voting, we will all support candidates from the democratic opposition. Principle three: After the local elections, we will not form coalitions with PiS – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during the SLD convention in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

13:45

Czarzasty to Biedroń: If you create a left-wing program and want to lead the left-wing movement, welcome to the family

- I wanted to direct a warm word from this place to Robert Biedroń. We think well of you, Robert. If you create a left-wing program and want to lead the left-wing movement, welcome to the family, and we will help. But if the program is just nice, then we wish you luck - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during the SLD convention in Dąbrowa Górnicza.

13:45

PM:

We Are Three Weeks Ahead of Our Political Rivals
We are three weeks ahead of our political rivals. We started with a convention in Sandomierz, then the big, main convention, our Law and Justice (PiS) in Warsaw, a week ago, and today, when they are just starting to think about it, scratching their heads about what to propose. Some of the things they have written down there are matters for which they should have a crisis of conscience and be ashamed that they did not fulfill them during their 8 years in power, and we are already proposing a concrete program for Lower Silesia – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the convention in Wrocław.

15:14

Trzaskowski:

Everyone at Our Convention Was Smiling
This is a place for which we have quite concrete plans. This is because we want to cover this part of Wisłostrada, which is behind me, so that we can connect the new city with the place where we are, i.e., the fountain park and the boulevards that Varsovians have also fallen in love with. This will be another place, another investment that has a chance to be one of Varsovians' favorites and will help us connect this fantastic space, which I spoke about at the convention - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a briefing. - Everyone at our convention, unlike a few others I've seen, was smiling. They talked about Poland needing to be for everyone. I said that Warsaw must be for everyone - he added.

16:31

Morawiecki:

What We Are Doing Is Developing Poland
We are credible in government and we will be credible in local government. Our political opponents also agree with this. Thank you very much for confirming this. What we are doing is developing Poland. They closed over 400 police stations under the 817 program. It's interesting what local security program they will present. They shamefully hid it today, they didn't say anything about it, because what are they supposed to boast about, closing police stations? Shame – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Jelcz-Laskowice.

16:36

Morawiecki:

We Want to Continue the Good Change. The Next Hurdle to Clear are the Local Elections

- We want to continue the good change. Now, the next hurdle to clear for us is the local elections. We must win these elections, and we will win them. Because something truly new and good is happening in Poland. We have more justice, more solidarity, and contrary to some notes, we have more adherence to the Constitution and freedom. I believe that together we will be able to convince even those who are not yet convinced, because I care about dialogue, conversations, not shouting over each other, but about being in dialogue with people month after month, year after year, and conducting economic and financial policy in such a way that we chase away VAT mafias and tax criminals, so that there are funds for 500+ to continue, because we are the only guarantor that this policy will be continued - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Jelcz-Laskowice.

Szydło in Koszalin: The Time Has Come to End Crony Republics in Local Government
The time has come, ladies and gentlemen, to end crony republics in local government, and unfortunately, this is the case in many places, and you know this perfectly well here too - stated Beata Szydło in Koszalin. Today, the Deputy Prime Minister endorsed Andrzej Jakubowski, the PiS candidate for mayor of Koszalin. The candidate's speech was preceded by an address from his wife, Teresa Jakubowska, accompanied by their grandson, Franek. https://twitter.com/szefernaker/status/1038484215254470656

Ziobro:

Judicial Reform Incomplete. We Can Be Judged When It's Finished

- Regarding the judiciary, there is a dispute ongoing, and we can see this with Judge Tuleya as an example. There is ostracism; there is a battle that a significant part of this extraordinary caste environment has waged against those who want to carry out this reform. This reform has not been completed. We will be able to be judged when it is completed. The reform is in progress, it is encountering resistance, ostracism, and attempts to blow it up - stated Zbigniew Ziobro in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info.

Jaki to Unveil Special Campaign Project on Sunday. Programmatic Convention in the Second Half of September

On Sunday, the United Right candidate for the Mayor of Warsaw will present a project that is intended to be one of the main pillars of his campaign. Patryk Jaki's campaign team is unwilling to reveal details, but they are hinting that the project is meant to be impressive and presented in an innovative way. Apparently, a large team of experts has been working on it for several months, and it is expected to spark significant discussion as an elaboration on the slogan of "an ambitious Warsaw".

- Given the exceptional project that Patryk has prepared with his team, the campaign staff has decided to organize two conventions in September - one of the campaign aides told us. The project was discussed in the sidelines of Friday's streamup.

Jaki's campaign team believes that the project to be presented on Sunday will open a new phase of programmatic discussion and - as the right-wing candidate's aide says - "create a new playing field, thanks to which he will again be one step ahead of Trzaskowski".

The second convention is scheduled to take place at the end of September. This will be a programmatic convention dedicated to a comprehensive program.
