The head of the Polish government will participate at 11:15 AM in the ceremony of planting the Oak of Freedom, and at 11:45 AM - in the celebrations of the 38th anniversary of the signing of the Jastrzębie Agreement and the 30th anniversary of the mining strikes in 1988.

Jaki:

If we managed to regain control of one of the big cities, it would probably be a surprise

- There's no point in deceiving ourselves that the result on a national scale is probably more important, because it shows whether people, citizens, Poles, still want change, this "good change", or if they want to bet on today's opposition. However, if we managed to regain control of one of the big cities, it would probably be a surprise, because let's not hide the fact that in big cities, the favorites are either the incumbent mayors, or, as in Warsaw, politicians like Rafał Trzaskowski. If you look at the statistics from previous elections, theoretically they should go on vacation for 5 months and win like that – stated Patryk Jaki in "Sygnały dnia” PR1.

07:41

Jaki:

I believe Varsovians will show that real change is needed, that Warsaw is capable of more
I am convinced that Warsaw needs a person who will dedicate themselves to this city, because Warsaw simply deserves it. In November, it will be the anniversary of regaining independence, and I would like Warsaw to finally be honest on this 100th anniversary, because Warsaw deserves it - stated Patryk Jaki in "Signals of the Day" PR1. I am convinced that even though it may seem that what I am fighting for is a mission impossible, I believe in the people of Warsaw and that they will show that real change is needed, that Warsaw is truly capable of more - added the ZP candidate for the Mayor of Warsaw.

07:43

Jaki:

"Our research shows we will win if those who have never voted in Warsaw, but live here daily, participate in the elections"

- We conducted our own research. The research indicates that if people who have never voted in Warsaw, but live here on a daily basis, were to participate in the elections, we would win these elections - stated Patryk Jaki in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1. He added that an information campaign would be conducted on how to register as a voter, but in the future, the state must do something about it because it is a complicated procedure.

07:50

Trzaskowski:

I hope Poles won't fall for Kaczyński's tricks for a third time

- We are clearly stating [on the billboards] that PiS took the money and that everything is getting more expensive. That's the truth. Do you know why Kaczyński's face is there? Because Poles were fooled once, when they voted for Beata Szydło, and ended up with Kaczyński. They were fooled a second time when they voted for Andrzej Duda, and ended up with Kaczyński. I hope they won't fall for it a third time - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." He emphasized that there is not a single untruth on these billboards, and he himself is focusing on the program for Warsaw.

07:54

Trzaskowski:

There are billboards where we talk about a Warsaw for everyone

- From today, there are billboards where we talk about a Warsaw for everyone. We are talking about a Warsaw that will not discriminate against people based on their age, political views, whether they are disabled or not, or their sexual orientation. I spoke about all of this yesterday at the Diversity Days - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview".

07:57

Trzaskowski:

My Opponent Explicitly Said He Would Listen to Kaczyński

- We need to remind Poles that they have been fooled twice already, and that today they will not be choosing mayors or presidents who will be independent, but rather people who will be taking calls from Kaczyński. This was, moreover, explicitly stated by my opponent, that he would listen to Jarosław Kaczyński, and that in reality, he would be the one making the most important decisions in Warsaw - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:01

Trzaskowski on Gowin's Words: In Practice, It Means Preparing for Poland's Exit from the EU

- Prime Minister Gowin should rather explain his words, in which he states that he will not abide by the rulings of the European Court of Justice, which in practice means preparing for Poland's exit from the EU - said Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:04

Trzaskowski:

PiS is not credible in its announcements

- PiS is not credible in its announcements. Because if it announces huge investments, but loses EU funds, it's interesting to see how it will finance them? - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:07

Trzaskowski:

It was clear from the very beginning that it would be difficult

- It was clear from the very beginning that it would be difficult, that we would have to fight for every vote from every Varsovian. It is difficult, if only because there are over a dozen candidates - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". - It was clear that it would be close, it was clear that we would have to fight until the very end. We will see. Polls only motivate us to work harder - he added.

PiS Launches Another Billboard Campaign
Credibility. Effectiveness. Keeping promises. This is the brand, the trademark of PiS. From today, we are launching another billboard campaign: We keep our word in government. We will keep it in local government! - wrote Tomasz Poręba on Twitter.

Czerwińska on Promises to Local Governments: Merit-Based Criteria Determine Funding Allocation
I believe the Prime Minister encouraged local governments to submit good projects, and this is the fundamental criterion for financing such initiatives within local authorities. That is the first point. Secondly, cooperation between the government and local authorities is highly desirable. It simply facilitates many areas – said Teresa Czerwińska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program „Gość Radia Zet”. - I, of course, also got the impression that the Prime Minister was encouraging votes for Law and Justice, however, I interpreted the Prime Minister's intentions as such that good cooperation between the government and local authorities is a necessary condition, often for the implementation of many programs. Nevertheless, it is the merit-based criteria that determine who receives funding – Czerwińska added.

08:30

Jaki:

My Advantage is That I Come from Outside
My greatest advantage – this is how I assess it – is that I come from outside. I know Warsaw, of course; my family and I have lived here for over 7 years. My child attends kindergarten here. We have tied our lives to Warsaw. Warsaw is the most important for us, but let's not hide it, I was elected in the Opole constituency, just as Rafał Trzaskowski was elected in the Kraków constituency – stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:34

Regarding the Flat-Rate for Company Cars: I Will Show Documents of My Expenses Within Days

- It depends on how many kilometers I use each month for private trips. I pay for all of them every time. The driver always records which trips are private, and then I account for his time, work, and fuel. I can immediately say that I have paid the most; I've checked back several years. None of the deputy ministers from previous governments, and there were probably even 20 of them, paid as much as I do. We will prepare [documents concerning expenses] in the next few days - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:36

Poręba:

In the Campaign, We Will Appreciate and Praise Places Where Living Standards Have Been Raised Through Good Governance, While Places Like Warsaw and Gdańsk, Where Pathologies Occur, Will Be Condemned

I believe that the last few years of local government in Poland offer many good examples of action for the residents of municipalities, districts, or voivodeships, but there are places where significant abuses have occurred or are occurring. We want to be more honest with our voters, but also with Poles. In this local government campaign, we will certainly appreciate and praise places where a region or voivodeship, well-managed, has civilizationaly raised the living standards of its residents, but cities like Warsaw or Gdańsk, where blatant pathologies occur, will simply be condemned in our campaign” - said Tomasz Poręba, head of the PiS campaign staff, on the morning program of Catholic radio stations „Siódma9”.

08:37

Czerwińska:

The Budget Bill Will Be Adopted by the Government on September 25th

- On September 25th, when the budget bill is adopted by the Council of Ministers, it will be sent to parliament. The deadline for submission is set by the constitution. Three months before the end of the budget year. At the moment, we are conducting certain consultations, agreements, and some adjustments to this budget are possible – said Teresa Czerwińska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia Zet" program.

- The budget, from my perspective, is a financial plan that should be realistic, feasible, and take into account all government priorities, and this budget is precisely that – added the Minister of Finance.

08:41

Jaki:

Today I will present my leaflet. It will feature kind words from Rokita and Saryusz-Wolski
Today, among other things, I will want to present my leaflet. I am pleased that on this election leaflet I will have kind, good words about me from, among others, Jan Rokita and Jacek Saryusz-Wolski - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. - I am very happy with such support [from Jan Rokita], I am proud of it. [Jacek Saryusz-Wolski] wrote very good words about me, I am also proud of that - he continued. - I was more concerned with emphasizing that people who played a major role in Poland's accession to the European Union support us, and Jacek Saryusz-Wolski is undoubtedly such a figure - added the ZP candidate for the mayor of Warsaw.

08:47

Czerwińska:

Electoral Campaign Presents Challenges, But I Don't Think It Hinders Council of Ministers' Work

- Regarding the head of government, I don't think that despite being on the road, the Prime Minister is not fully up-to-date. However, decisions are made by the Council of Ministers. Who will be in charge? Well, the Prime Minister will be in charge, as has been the case so far. Certainly, the electoral campaign presents certain challenges, but I don't think it hinders the work of the Council of Ministers. As before, the Council of Ministers makes decisions and meets regularly - said Teresa Czerwińska in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

08:52

Jaki:

I Won't Deal with Ideology. The Mayor of Warsaw Should Be Pragmatic

- Yes [I am for in vitro being permissible]. I hold the same position as the Episcopate Conference, that it's better to regulate it somehow. I won't deal with ideology. If this program is in place at the moment I take office as Mayor of Warsaw, if the voters allow, I won't cancel it. If it's not, I won't introduce it. I will not engage in ideology in Warsaw. I believe the Mayor of Warsaw should be pragmatic - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. He added that the time for ideological disputes is in parliament, but local government should not concern itself with them.

08:54

Łapiński:

President is Implementing the Law. When Candidates for the Supreme Court Arrive from the National Judicial Council, the President Will Have 60 Days to Decide
“The President is implementing the law. The moment candidates for Supreme Court judges arrive from the National Judicial Council, those positively assessed, the President will have 60 days to make a decision. He will act in accordance with the law,” said Minister Krzysztof Łapiński on TOK FM Radio’s morning program.

“We do not know when the [Court of Justice of the EU] will take a position, we do not know what it will be. In no way does this decision by the 7-judge panel of the Supreme Court suspend the functioning of the law or the President’s obligation to take a position within 60 days. The Supreme Court does not have constitutional authority to suspend provisions of generally binding laws,” he added.

09:03

Trzaskowski:

Biedroń is not answering Schetyna's calls

- I am not scared, but I believe that now is a time for consolidation. Because if the opposition does not consolidate, it will be very difficult to win against PiS. There is a new political [entity by Robert Biedroń]. Let's see what it looks like, whether it will truly materialize, because for now, we only have rumors. The question is, with whom does he want to create this list? We are open to having one opposition list. We are talking with very diverse groups. The question is whether Robert Biedroń will be interested in this. We have spoken with Biedroń and we are always open to cooperation, however, in recent months I have a feeling that it is rather Robert Biedroń who is not answering Chairman Schetyna's calls. We will see how it unfolds. I have this knowledge that he is not answering – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki during the extended segment of "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

09:05

Łapiński:

Each Supreme Court Candidacy Will Be Considered Individually, and the President's Decision May Differ Significantly from the National Judicial Council's Recommendation. We Shall See.
“The President has 60 days. Each candidacy will be considered separately. The President's situation here is easier in that a list of 15 people is not presented, allowing him to accept all or reject all. It’s not like a bill that can be signed or vetoed. Each case will be considered individually. The President, and the President’s officials, will consider the issues raised publicly. What the final decision will be, we don’t know yet. We need to approach the matter calmly, diligently, and consider each person individually” – said Minister Krzysztof Łapiński on TOK FM. “Each candidacy will be considered individually. With regard to the matters raised by the media, the President’s decision may be entirely different from the recommendation of the [National Judicial] Council. We shall see if that will be the case. I don’t know these decisions, because the President hasn’t made them yet. The candidacies and documents have not physically arrived at the Chancellery of the President yet” – he added.

Trzaskowski Promises Teacher Salary Increases: "We Want Warsaw's Education System to Be on a European Level"
We want to invest in people above all. We want Warsaw's education system to be on a European level, but the fact that this system is so good is thanks to the teachers, because the government is doing everything to hinder our education from getting better. Meanwhile, teachers are trying to work as best as they can, and thanks to them, the level of education in Warsaw is so high. We want to supplement teachers' salaries; the Warsaw City Council has already taken the first step regarding principals and educators. We want to go a step further, especially when it comes to young teachers whose salaries are very low. Hence, concrete proposals. We want to allocate an additional 350 PLN for every contract teacher in Warsaw and 250 PLN for every probationary teacher. In addition, we want to create a scholarship program. A 1000 PLN academic scholarship for outstanding teachers. Thanks to this, we hope that Warsaw will cope with the teacher shortage, but above all, we want to show that we appreciate their work – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference. -We have three very concrete proposals that will ensure that students who want to continue their education in secondary schools, high schools, and technical schools will simply continue it. The first issue is the creation of branches of general high schools and technical schools; we will locate them in primary schools, as they have to be located somewhere. A detailed plan will be known in mid-September, when recruitment to primary schools concludes, and when it will be possible to see how this infrastructure can be utilized and how those who want to continue their education can be relocated. It is extremely important that there is no break, no chaos. Students and parents care about this, and most importantly, we do. The second issue, unfortunately, will necessitate and require an increase in the number of students in individual classes, but no more than to 36. This can be done, and we will strive for it. The third issue within this plan is, unfortunately, also the introduction of a two-shift system, but starting from the third lesson hour; this should resolve the situation. This is a recovery plan in relation to what the government and Minister Zalewska have unfortunately spoiled with the reform of Polish education – said Paweł Rabiej during the conference.

Szefernaker:

No political party today has such a base among young people as PiS

- Yesterday, during the convention, we primarily showed that the right has learned its lesson. It is united, which has been a major problem for years, causing the right to lose. Secondly, we presented a group of young, ambitious individuals. No political party today has such a base among young people as PiS, which is a party of young people. Thirdly, yesterday we presented Prime Minister Morawiecki's 'five' for local government – stated Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti".

10:16

Jaki:

Once Again, Trzaskowski and Gronkiewicz-Waltz's Team Served Us Poorly Prepared Education

"Once again, the team governing Warsaw, led by Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Rafał Trzaskowski, has served us poorly prepared education. Today, children in Wilanów, for example, had to be moved to a hotel, and in Białołęka, to specially rented premises. There will be a regular shortage of places in after-school care facilities, which are often non-existent or lack capacity. I want to make a commitment that if I become the mayor of the capital city of Warsaw, such situations will not happen again. Parents will be certain that their children will be safe in educational facilities. Secondly, we will invest additional funds in expanding after-school care facilities. These facilities will offer specially dedicated extracurricular activities, so that parents can be sure that their children are properly looked after until they finish work. They will learn an additional language, music, and develop their other skills. What is currently happening with education in Warsaw will not happen again" said the United Right's candidate for Mayor of Warsaw, Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki, at a press conference.

10:23

Jaki:

Massive Traffic Jams in Warsaw Are Back. If I Become Mayor of Warsaw, I Will End the Policy of Humiliating and Fighting Drivers

Massive traffic jams are returning to Warsaw, and I want to declare that if I become the president of the capital city of Warsaw, I will end the policy of humiliating drivers. It's high time, I don't know if it's funny for TVN, to stop narrowing streets, eliminating parking spaces, and putting up bollards everywhere. Furthermore, my opponent says that road construction can be halted, and bridges don't need to be built. Pedestrian and cycling bridges will suffice in the future. I want to say that once and for all, I will end this mad policy of fighting drivers. It is high time for Warsaw to propose good solutions regarding public transport, and then I am convinced that a large portion of drivers will choose public transport, which is in the interest of the entire city” - said Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

PM at the Start of the School Year in Żory:

First School is Life, and Then All of Life is School.
"First school is life, and then actually all of life is school. I believe that here you will gain the knowledge that you need so that later this school of life will be open, friendly, and good for you. So that by acquiring knowledge, you can then transform it into what you will love to do" – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the ceremony to mark the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year at the Mikołaj Kopernik Complex of Construction and Informatics Schools in Żory. https://twitter.com/PremierRP/status/1036512731178983424

Piechna-Więckiewicz:

I Can't Imagine My Voters Getting Schetyna Packaged With Me

- I strongly disagree with forming a coalition with the Civic Coalition. I strongly disagree with the 'either KO or death' narrative. There is an alternative. I can't imagine my voters, male and female, getting Grzegorz Schetyna packaged with me. It's impossible to create a left-wing agenda, to realize an agenda within the Platform, within KO. In Warsaw, for 12 years, the Platform was unable to deal with the issue of reprivatization. Shoulder to shoulder with PiS, they voted to allow the implementation of a plan for the southern city center that would permit private-ecclesiastical investments, which are detrimental to the local community – stated Paulina Piechna-Więckiewicz at a press conference. She added, "Don't believe that the Civic Coalition will stop PiS, because they themselves didn't do it in 2015 and they won't do it again."

Civic Platform to File Motion to Dismiss Minister of Education; Szumilas: Polish School Has Been Ruined

- The Polish school is in crisis. This crisis is being deepened by the education reform. Today, students with disabilities know that they will not be learning in school. They have been expelled from school; individual education can only take place at home. Today, seventh-graders know that they face a year of academic overload. They will not be able to cope with the obligations imposed on them by the Minister of Education. Today, eighth-graders know that another difficult year awaits them, also overloaded with duties, but a year that is to decide their future, and they know that this future is threatened because in a year they will meet the last graduating class of junior high school students in post-secondary, post-primary schools. Today, junior high school students go to school and learn that they will have a fifth math teacher, a fourth homeroom teacher, because junior high schools are being phased out, junior high schools are an unwanted child of PiS, junior high schools and their students are treated as second-class students. Today, we know that the school is unprepared, that local governments do not have money to prepare schools. They have been tasked with something that requires years to complete – Krystyna Szumilas said at a press conference.

- We read that the Minister is calm, that she is satisfied, that everything is buttoned up. Perhaps she is, but the Polish school has been ruined by her reform. The Polish school is in crisis. The Polish school has been left to fend for itself. The Minister of Education sits contentedly at her desk in the Ministry of Education, looking at the school through rose-tinted glasses. She does not hear, she does not see, she does not feel what is happening in Polish schools. That is why, as Civic Platform, we will submit a motion to dismiss the Minister before the first Sejm session. Enough demolishing of Polish schools – Szumilas added.

Jaki:

PO Wants to Block the Work of the Parliamentary Committee Through a Motion to the CJEU

Patryk Jaki, a prominent figure in Polish politics, has accused the Civic Platform (PO) of attempting to obstruct the work of a parliamentary committee by lodging a motion with the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

The tweet from Jaki, posted on August 31, 2018, states: "PO wants to block the work of the Parliamentary Committee through a motion to the CJEU." This statement suggests a political maneuver aimed at halting or significantly hindering the proceedings of a specific parliamentary body, with the CJEU being invoked as the venue for this action.

While the exact nature of the parliamentary committee and the specific grounds for the PO's motion are not detailed in the provided snippet, Jaki's accusation implies that the opposition party is using legal or quasi-legal means at the European level to disrupt governmental or parliamentary processes in Poland.

Such actions often involve disputes over the rule of law, national sovereignty, or the interpretation of EU legislation, where political parties may seek intervention from the CJEU to settle disagreements or challenge decisions made by the Polish government or parliament.

PMM:

August 1980 Defines Polishness, as Workers Told the World Solidarity, Dignity, and the Fight for Freedom are its Essence
August 1980 was a great, historic moment. It was a moment when the walls of bondage that surrounded Poland and many other countries crumbled. What happened later, martial law, was no longer able to stop this great relay of freedom. The people of August, of those times, were soldiers of this relay of freedom - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the celebrations of the 38th anniversary of the signing of the Jastrzębie Agreement and the 30th anniversary of the mining strikes in 1988. - August 1980 is not just history, today's freedom. It is something more. It is the definition of Polishness, consisting of the fact that it was then that workers, here from Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Szczecin, Gdańsk, and all of Poland, from 400 plants across Poland, told the world what is in our national DNA, that the quintessence of Polishness is precisely solidarity, dignity, the fight for freedom - added PMM.

Zandberg:

Today Biedroń will announce his withdrawal from local elections. If we have common ideas, let's discuss the possibility of a partner, coalition start in the European elections

"We currently have local elections. We are talking about our local proposals, but ahead of us are further elections, European ones. Today, as you know, Robert Biedroń will announce his withdrawal from running in local elections. I have a proposal for Robert Biedroń. Let's talk about Europe, let's talk about what connects us. If we have common ideas, let's discuss whether a partner, coalition start in the European elections is possible" - said Adrian Zandberg from the Together party at a press conference.

13:33

PMM:

The System of Solidarity, Built on Great Ideas, Rejects National Egoism; Our Nation's Success Depends on Cooperation
As we build our independence and freedom, I would also like to say at the end that this specific system, the system of solidarity, which we are trying to build based on the great ideas from 38 years ago, rejects national egoism, as well as various kinds of particularisms and individual egoisms. The success of our state, our nation, and our individual success also depends on whether we can cooperate with each other. And just as then, 38 years ago, those signatories who are with us can testify to this: we were ready to forgive and saw those on the other side, then from the PZPR, as misguided brethren rather than enemies. Similarly, today we must learn to talk to each other, so that on the great days, such as the approaching 100th anniversary of regaining independence, and on these slightly smaller but important days, we can communicate with each other. Because only in this way will we build a Poland that will truly be resourceful, rich, proud, happy, and also a mining nation - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the celebrations of the 38th anniversary of the signing of the Jastrzębie Agreement and the 30th anniversary of the miners' strikes in 1988.

Waniek, Szmajdzińska, Piekarska, Jaruzelska, Hartman, Gadzinowski, and Agreement with the Democratic Party. The SLD Presents Its Lists

Today, the SLD presented the lead candidates for the elections to the Warsaw City Council and the Mazovian Voivodeship Sejmik. For the Sejmik elections in Warsaw, the Alliance has placed three former MPs at the forefront: Katarzyna Piekarska, Małgorzata Szmajdzińska, and Danuta Waniek.

The lists for the Warsaw City Council will be headed by, among others: Andrzej Rozenek, Monika Jaruzelska, Jan Hartman, and Piotr Gadzinowski. In one of the districts, the list leader will be Jan Artymowski, the Secretary-General of the Democratic Party (SD), which has entered into an electoral agreement with the SLD in Warsaw.

Biedroń:

I Won't Run for Another Term as Mayor of Słupsk. It's Time to Start a New Chapter

During a press conference in Słupsk, the city's mayor, Robert Biedroń, announced that he would not be seeking re-election, a fact we previously reported on 300POLITYCE.

https://twitter.com/RobertBiedron/status/1036586809952817153?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1036586809952817153&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rp.pl%2FPolityka%2F180909892-Robert-Biedron-zdecydowal-sie---opuszcza-Slupsk.html

“Poland is a common good. Therefore, we must heal it. That is why I have decided that I will not run in the next mayoral election for Słupsk. It's time to start a new chapter. This is a difficult decision, but if I were to leave office after the local elections and before the end of my term, a party commissioner would take over power in my beloved city. I cannot allow that. It would be, above all, disloyal to the residents of Słupsk,” said the mayor in a special video spot.

Wassermann:

I Don't Want to Use the Commission for My Local Election Campaign

- I do not want to use the [Amber Gold] investigative commission for my local election campaign, hence my decision, with the full acceptance of the commission's presidium - stated Małgorzata Wassermann in a conversation with journalists, referring to the change in the date of Donald Tusk's hearing by the Amber Gold investigative commission from October 2nd to November 5th.

- I am surprised that information that was among the MPs has leaked to you. First, I informed the commission members, but unfortunately, I regret to note that you knew before the other MPs did - she added.

More Local Officials Endorse Wojciechowicz
Warsaw deserves a professional, courageous president – commented local officials who have endorsed Jacek Wojciechowicz's candidacy for the mayor of Warsaw. Joining the three councilors who left Civic Platform on Saturday to support Jacek Wojciechowicz are more activists connected with Warsaw – the long-serving Mazovian Voivode Jacek Kozłowski, the long-serving mayor and deputy mayor of Ursus Wiesław Krzemień, and the former district governor and mayor of Targówek Grzegorz Zawistowski. "In politics, you meet two types of people," said Jacek Kozłowski. "Some owe everything to party arrangements, others owe everything to their professionalism. Jacek Wojciechowicz belongs to the latter group." The former voivode recalled the swift reconstruction of the Łazienkowski Bridge. "This was thanks to Jacek Wojciechowicz, who acts professionally and is not afraid to make decisions," Kozłowski stated.

Dworczyk on Criticism of Polish Judicial Reforms in Europe: "We Sometimes Deal with a Certain Professional Solidarity"

- It's hard to resist the impression that we sometimes deal with a certain professional solidarity. We have tried to counter a series of untrue or distorted information that has appeared in Europe, largely thanks to representatives of the total opposition, regarding the justice system reform. A white paper has been prepared. Those individuals who have familiarized themselves, those politicians, those lawyers who have acquainted themselves with the material contained in this white paper, can indeed engage in such a discussion. Most politicians, I have the impression, have probably not familiarized themselves with these solutions, because many of the solutions we are proposing for the reform of the judiciary are modeled on solutions already functioning in Western Europe - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation".

Dworczyk on PiS Cooperation with the Future Mayor of Warsaw: In Accordance with the Law and with the Best Intentions

- The Law and Justice government will act in accordance with the law, and depending on how the authorities of Warsaw proceed, regardless of whether the mayor comes from Civic Platform, Law and Justice, or perhaps from the Kukiz club, in accordance with the law and with the best intentions from the government's side, we will cooperate with such authorities - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation".

Dworczyk:

Wassermann is Not Timid, She Certainly Wasn't Scared of Tusk
“Chairwoman Wassermann explained it very convincingly [the postponement of Donald Tusk’s hearing by the Amber Gold parliamentary committee]. She wants to focus on the local government election campaign on the one hand. She will certainly be very active in the coming weeks, and hence the desire to avoid accusations that the hearing of this important politician will be somehow woven into this campaign or become its element. For the clarity of the situation, such a decision, which was made, is a good decision,” stated Michał Dworczyk in a conversation with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24’s “Fakty po faktach”. “I know Małgorzata Wassermann quite well. She is not a timid person, therefore she was certainly not frightened [of Donald Tusk],” he added.

PiS is being slandered; a defamation campaign is underway. I'm thinking about billboards.

- From the very first weeks of the campaign, the opposition has accustomed us to focusing on negative campaigning. PiS is being slandered; a defamation campaign is underway. I'm thinking about billboards, which first hang on walls and then end up on cars. It's a campaign designed to evoke negative emotions, which uses manipulation - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts).

Dworczyk:

It's Obvious That When Local and Central Authorities Aim for Cooperation, Not Confrontation, Collaboration Becomes Easier

- I don't believe anyone would attach conditions or resort to the kind of political blackmail you mentioned. I can only say one thing: it is absolutely obvious that when local and central authorities are geared towards cooperation, not confrontation, not an ideological squabble, then collaboration becomes easier - stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Saryusz-Wolski and Rokita Feature on Jaki's Leaflet: "I Couldn't Point to Anyone Else in His Generation Who Could Combine Deep Personal Decency with a Very Rare, True Talent for Politics"
"I've known and followed Patryk Jaki for about 15 years. And I couldn't point to anyone else in his generation who could combine deep personal decency with a very rare, true talent for politics" - wrote Jan Rokita in a short, supportive text on a leaflet that 300POLITYKA is publishing first. "It is Patryk Jaki who is implementing European standards of integrity in public life" - wrote Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, a former MEP for Civic Platform, for whom Rafał Trzaskowski worked as an assistant and advisor. The leaflet also features, among others, support from Zofia Pilecka. Subsequent pages present a summary of the candidate's achievements, which were already mentioned in his campaign spot: the program for prison labor, the law prohibiting the removal of children due to poverty, and increased animal protection. Another page contains a biography and a comparative analysis of Jaki's program with how he views the program of the main rival candidate. In the section for the PO candidate, the entry for the metro is "changes his mind". The leaflet is scheduled to be presented this week.

Jarosław Kaczyński at a Closed PiS Club Meeting: Today I Am Calm, Knowing We Are a Party for Generations
According to sources speaking to 300POLITYKA, Jarosław Kaczyński, at a closed meeting of the Law and Justice (PiS) club, which took place while Prime Minister Morawiecki and several politicians were already en route in an election bus to Łowicz, stated: "Today I am calm, because I see that we are a party for generations." An emotion was palpable in the opening address by the PiS chairman when he said: "We wouldn't be here if it weren't for Lech Kaczyński, let's remember that." According to our sources, Kaczyński was impressed by the speeches of both the Prime Minister and the family duos of young PiS candidates: such as the Wassermann sisters, the Płażyńskis, as well as the moderator Waldemar Buda, a candidate in Łódź. He also mentioned early on Lucjan Nadbereżny, who won in the first round. Kaczyński is also reportedly pleased with Sylwester Tułajew's active campaign in Lublin.

Staniszkis:

President Duda is responsible for undermining democracy. He will certainly be held accountable one day.

President Duda likes to declaim, to pause for effect, but I think he is responsible for undermining democracy, because his signature finalized the process of destroying the state. He will certainly be held accountable one day” – said Prof. Jadwiga Staniszkis on "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

I think Duda, in his declamations, feels that this process is slipping out of his hands. Small repressions are already beginning. It's an inertia reminiscent of the late 1940s, when this whole discussion about history, the distortion of history, and the demoralization of people began. All of that has happened before” – she added.

Staniszkis:

Biedroń, the man who rebuilt himself after a complete collapse and knows the management challenges of a city like Słupsk, would be a much better president than Duda

Biedroń is a great mayor of Słupsk. It’s a poor city. He made a lot of sensible moves there. He has character, and people should assess him against other politicians, knowing the full context. He needs an environment that would support him, for example, in the presidential elections. I don't think it would be a party that participates in all parliamentary elections. He needs people who will support him, encourage him” – Professor Jadwiga Staniszkis said on TVN24.

A man who was able to rebuild himself after such a complete collapse and who knows the management challenges of a city like Słupsk would be a much better president than President Duda” – she added.
