-- PIS SHOULD THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATE THE MATTER - ŁUKASZ WARZECHA IN SE: “The opposition, which needs such ammunition like a thirsty man needs rain, will drill into this matter as much as possible. PiS knows this and that's why they reacted instantly, and the statements and stance of the most important politicians of the ruling camp, including Mateusz Morawiecki and Zbigniew Ziobro, leave no doubt: even if they (not without reason) question Czarnecki's motives, they do not intend to defend Chrzanowski. This is the only sensible position. Any other tactic could carry enormous risk at the beginning of the election marathon.” https://www.se.pl/wiadomosci/polityka/lukasz-warzecha-pis-musi-wypalic-sprawe-knf-do-kosci-aa-uF4u-9ZFh-8ij6.html

-- 6 QUESTIONS ON GW'S "JEDYNKA" (Kurski, Czuchnowski): 1. Did Chrzanowski act alone? 2. Is the state tracking or rather covering up the Chrzanowski affair? 3. Is the state functioning? 4. Is the Prosecutor General impartial? 5. What role does Bierecki play? 6. What's next for the KNF?

-- CBA ALLOWED EVIDENCE TO BE DESTROYED - Czuchnowski and Kurski: "Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro triumphantly announced the initiation of the investigation on Tuesday, the day of our publication. But the CBA only entered the KNF on Wednesday. Chrzanowski, although flying from Singapore, was in his office faster than the CBA agents, who are just a few blocks away from the KNF headquarters. The head of the Commission could freely destroy evidence. The CBA allowed it. The agents did not wait for Chrzanowski at the airport. On the contrary, they facilitated his escape through the VIP zone to avoid journalists. The PiS coercive apparatus is not always so sluggish. It can barge into the apartment of someone who dressed a statue in a t-shirt with the inscription 'Constitution' at 6 AM. http://wyborcza.pl/7,75398,24173593,kto-kogo-oslania-i-czy-panstwo-dziala-nasze-pytania-o-afere.html

-- A SCANDAL AT KNF, AN AMENDMENT IN THE SEJM - GW: “More news is appearing in the media regarding the lobbying by Chrzanowski and Sokal to bring about the bankruptcy of Getin Noble Bank and its acquisition for a symbolic amount by another bank. RMF FM reported that Chrzanowski wanted the amendments to be adopted quickly. This is evidenced by a letter requesting urgent processing of changes, which was sent to the Sejm's public finance committee. Chrzanowski's request was mentioned at its meeting.” http://wyborcza.pl/7,155287,24169159,kto-chce-przejmowac-banki-kiedy-skladano-zawiadomienie-ws.html

-- PROF. ANTONI DUDEK ON THE NECESSITY OF CHECKING CALL RECORDS: “It may mean that it was not a coincidence, that these two events are connected. That it is like a reaction from the other side to Czarnecki's filing the report with the prosecutor's office. Let's be clear: a lot has happened in this matter from March to November, but we don't know what. I'll give an example, like in the Rywin affair, a key piece of evidence was the call records from Lew Rywin's phone, which were revealed and showed a huge number of calls with president Kwiatkowski and other individuals, including president Kwiatkowski. For now, we don't know if there are any call records from the phone of the former head of KNF, Chrzanowski, although we know some exist. The question is whether they will ever be made available to the public and what will emerge from these records between March, let's say, and November, and who else might be involved in this matter... We don't really know if Leszek Czarnecki recorded anyone else. Since he recorded Chrzanowski, he could have also recorded other people.” https://fakty.interia.pl/polska/news-prof-dudek-tempo-w-jakim-pozbyto-sie-chrzanowskiego-bylo-rek,nId,2661203

-- FAKT ON GLAPIŃSKI: “– First of all, Marek Chrzanowski (former head of KNF – editor’s note) was Glapiński's nominee, his nomination was a 'throw-in' from 'Glapa' – a politician from the ruling camp tells us. Mateusz Morawiecki (50), then still deputy prime minister in Beata Szydło's (55) government, allegedly did not agree to Chrzanowski's appointment to KNF. Chrzanowski's involvement in the scandal is a problem for Glapiński. In addition, there is a rumor that the NBP president himself... is also allegedly recorded!” http://wyborcza.pl/7,155287,24169159,kto-chce-przejmowac-banki-kiedy-skladano-zawiadomienie-ws.html

-- SIERAKOWSKI ON PIS ENTERING THE BREZHNEV ERA: “PiS might manage to avoid the formation of a commission by employing the locker room attendant's method: I won't give back my coat, what are you going to do about it? But the chronic pretense that nothing happened indicates an entry into the Brezhnev era, when the party can no longer afford an offensive, must constantly defend and explain itself. It's happy if it survives a day without a defeat, scandal, or disgrace. But it's incapable of taking the initiative.” https://wiadomosci.onet.pl/tylko-w-onecie/sierakowski-pis-weszlo-w-etap-brezniewa-opinia/

-- ADAM LESZCZYŃSKI ANALYZES REACTIONS OF PRO-PIS MEDIA: "Class struggle is intensifying every year... remember this, Good Change, and be more careful than ever" - writes a right-wing publicist with concern. Media linked to PiS are trying in various ways to minimize the damage to the government caused by the corruption scandal at KNF. They discredit Czarnecki, claim that nothing happened, and say: "it's all a conspiracy." https://oko.press/cios-nozem-mikrofonowym-jak-media-pis-probuja-tlumaczyc-afere-knf/

-- GW ON KORZYST'S TALKS WITH SCHETYNA AND BRUDZIŃSKI: “According to unofficial information, the mayor of Szczecin was to hold talks with the head of the national structures of Civic Platform on Wednesday in Warsaw. Piotr Krzystek is on vacation until the end of the week, which he is spending in the capital. One can guess that Krzystek also has planned meetings during this time with Joachim Brudziński, head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration and leader of West Pomeranian PiS. The mayor of Szczecin is of interest to party leaders because he will govern the city for his fourth term and in the region he leads Bezpartyjni, who have become the third force in the regional assembly (winning three seats).” http://szczecin.wyborcza.pl/szczecin/7,34939,24173737,krzystek-rozmawial-ze-schetyna-o-koalicjach-na-nowa-kadencje.html

-- A SEAT FOR A STAROSTWO FOR THE PRIME MINISTER'S SISTER - Jacek Harłukowicz in GW: “– In exchange for Ms. Morawiecka's support, I was offered the position of president of the provincial company Stawy Milickie, or alternatively, the position of vice-president in one of the companies belonging to KGHM. In the latter case, I could choose which one – admits Matusiak in an interview with 'Wyborcza'. She was first contacted before Independence Day. Again – on Monday, November 12. A few days ago, she met with a PiS envoy. However, Matusiak does not want to reveal his name. – I was convinced not to hesitate, because two other people from our coalition have already been 'bought'.” http://wroclaw.wyborcza.pl/wroclaw/7,35771,24173524,stolek-za-starostwo-dla-siostry-premiera.html

-- PAWEŁ WROŃSKI WRITES ABOUT POLITICAL CORRUPTION: “Although the prime minister discreetly but visibly supported his older sister's campaign, he cannot, of course, be responsible for her political actions. One is not responsible for one's siblings. Perhaps he doesn't even know about the whole matter and will only find out about the attempted corruption in KNF from 'Wyborcza'. Regardless, if he truly wants to earn trust, he should clarify this matter thoroughly. If he cannot handle the Trzebnica case, how will he explain the KNF case?” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,24173692,anna-morawiecka-przegrala-ale-moze-rzadzic-pis-urzadza-trzecia.html

-- TUSK IS THREE LEAGUES HIGHER THAN PO - GRZEGORZ SROCZYŃSKI IN CONVERSATION WITH JAKUB BODZIONY IN KULTURA LIBERALNA: “Perhaps because the Polish state mechanism works in such a way that when a new idea appears in a leadership position, the entire system discourages its implementation. 'Let's do something about it,' says the minister. 'It can't be done,' replies the state machinery. I think Tusk lacked determination. He is an outstanding politician who is intellectually many steps ahead of his base, ahead of Schetyna or Kopacz. Moreover, as the head of the European Council, he has the ability to pick up on new trends in the global economy and politics. He is not dragged down by the Polish pond, he doesn't have to deal with the Independence March or Krystyna Pawłowicz's tweets. In every respect, Tusk is three leagues higher than PO. There hasn't been a more effective and shrewder politician on the Polish political scene. It's him and Kaczyński.”

-- SROCZYŃSKI ON HOW PIS WOULD BENEFIT FROM A "LET'S LOVE EACH OTHER" ATMOSPHERE: “Of course, but they don't understand it. The vocal fringe would be dissatisfied for a moment, they would grumble, stamp their feet, the Karnowskis would write something strong, and that's it. They have nowhere to drift off to. The rest would be satisfied, because in the general perception, PiS made a mess, but somehow fixed it, so 'Poles, let's love each other.' Book XII of 'Pan Tadeusz,' and we love such endings. In this way, the other side would also lose its trump argument about the 'end of democracy.'”

-- SROCZYŃSKI ON THE END OF THE DIGNITY REVOLUTION OF SMALL TOWNS: “That's true, but PiS no longer needs to lead this revolution. Over these three years, the voice of the PiS electorate has entered the mainstream. People have had their say, the dignity revolution of small towns has come to an end. Now these small towns want peace and quiet. Pushing for solutions like the repolonization of the media market would be a shot in the foot.”

-- PIS IS STARTING TO MISS THAT THE DIGNITY SATISFACTION HAS ALREADY OCCURRED - SROCZYŃSKI CONTINUES: “I think PiS is slowly starting to miss that its electorate has already achieved a kind of dignity satisfaction. I myself believed that PiS needed to let off steam. But those emotions have burned out, people are saturated and say: enough. Continuing this revolution is counterproductive.”

-- POLES ARE EXCEPTIONALLY PRAGMATIC AND TOLERANT - SROCZYŃSKI IN KL CONTINUES: “Poles are much more progressive than the right and liberals think. Not in the sense of going to Pride Parades, but in the mass of their demands, Poles are exceptionally pragmatic and tolerant. Rumors about our exceptional xenophobia and conservatism are exaggerated. Both sides, apart from their vocal fringes, are tired of the current state of affairs. Every revolution eventually stumbles over its own feet, the latest example of which was the organization of celebrations for the centenary of regaining independence. At some point, one must let go and start governing. They are not actually governing, they are just talking. Paradoxically, in the areas that mattered most to them – judicial reforms, education, historical policy – they suffered the greatest defeats. The affair with Israel – a defeat. Independence celebrations – for 200 million zlotys – a defeat. They achieved much less than if they had acted differently.”

-- ORBAN IN POLAND IS A LAUGHING STOCK - SROCZYŃSKI: “Poland is equally divided and there is no chance for any Orbán here. Large-scale conformity and subservience mechanisms will not kick in if everyone sees that politics is fifty-fifty. PiS is ineffective, it has not created and will not create any oligarchic system of its own. And if it tries, it will end up like Leszek Czarnecki. It's a laughing stock.” https://kulturaliberalna.pl/2018/11/16/po-tusk-pis-grzegorz-sroczynski-bodziony-rozmowa/
