-- SEPTEMBER 25: TUSK BEFORE THE AMBER GOLD COMMISSION - 300LIVE: https://300polityka.pl/live/2018/07/16/

-- JUDGE IWULSKI'S MYSTERIOUS AMNESIA - ANDRZEJ STANKIEWICZ AND ANDRZEJ GAJCY REPORT IN ONET: “Judge Józef Iwulski, currently heading the Supreme Court, adjudicated not in one, as he claims, but in several political trials during the PRL era – Onet has established. Opposition members were sentenced in these cases. – I had to apply the law as it was at the time. Wherever I could, I tried not to harm anyone. It didn't always succeed – Iwulski told Onet.”

-- STANKIEWICZ AND GAJCY ON IWULSKI'S INVOLVEMENT WITH COMMUNIST SERVICES:“But the court cases against opposition members are not all. The IPN archives also contain documents concerning the course of Józef Iwulski's service as an officer in the Military Internal Service (WSW). It was precisely in the WSW files that in late 1990, the judge's delegation to the Supreme Court was recorded.”

-- ONET CHALLENGES IWULSKI'S STATEMENT: “The documents analyzed by Onet contradict the version of events presented by Judge Iwulski, both in his recent statement and in his conversation with our journalists.” https://wiadomosci.onet.pl/tylko-w-onecie/tajemnicza-amnezja-sedziego-iwulskiego/k9v7cxq

-- COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE TRAINED THE PRESIDENT OF THE SUPREME COURT - GPC: “Judge Józef Iwulski, appointed by the President to act as the First President of the Supreme Court, was a reserve WSW officer trained by that military counter-intelligence. Within the WSW, he was involved, among other things, in court proceedings against individuals being monitored by communist services.” https://gpcodziennie.pl/94014-jakkontrwywiadszkolilprezesasn.html

-- PIS EXPELS OPPOSITION LEGEND - FAKT ON ZABŁOCKI AT THE TOP POST: "PiS repeats like a mantra that the reform of the Supreme Court is necessary because the same judges who sat during martial law and the PRL still preside there. At the same time, the reform results in the President appointing Józef Iwulski (66) as deputy to the First President of the Supreme Court, even though he adjudicated during the PRL. Meanwhile, Stanisław Zabłocki (68), a respected judge and legendary lawyer from the martial law era, might lose his right to continue presiding!" https://www.fakt.pl/wydarzenia/polityka/pis-wyrzuca-legende-opozycji-z-sadu-najwyzszego/w6rr1q0

-- GW ON THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH RAISING DRUG PRICES AT THE BEHEST OF CORPORATIONS, TO THE DETRIMENT OF PATIENTS AND THE NFZ: “The Ministry of Health is raising the prices of selected drugs at the request of pharmaceutical corporations. It is doing so unlawfully. Patients and the National Health Fund (NFZ) are losing out. (...) Since the refundation act came into force in 2012, it has happened that a producer would not agree to a price reduction, and the drug would be removed from the list. However, the Ministry of Health was unwavering. This changed under the PiS government. Krzysztof Łanda was then responsible for drug policy at the Ministry of Health. Shortly before the market exclusivity for a given drug expired, companies began to approach the ministry to request a price increase. The ministry granted consent, and the drug became more expensive, only for the price to return to its previous level when the market exclusivity expired.” http://wyborcza.pl/TylkoZdrowie/7,137474,23677487,koncern-farmaceutyczny-prosi-ministerstwo-podnosi-ceny-lekow.html

-- WAR WITH GERSDORF IS NOT WORTH THE CANDLE - DOMINIKA WIELOWIEYSKA IN GW:“I reiterate: I am not evaluating the ethical and legal aspects of PiS's actions now, but strictly the political ones. And I state that the war with Gersdorf is a game not worth the candle and generates disproportionately large political problems relative to any potential benefits for Kaczyński's camp. Especially since the professor is not combative. She would not be a person who would push for a confrontation, fearing accusations of political involvement. There was also an opportunity to withdraw from this foolish confrontation – when the Kukiz'15 club submitted an amendment to the PiS law on the Supreme Court, which guaranteed that Gersdorf would remain in her position. Kaczyński did not want to back down, and now even the Kukiz party proclaims that Małgorzata Gersdorf is the President of the Supreme Court until 2020.” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,23678718,nieracjonalny-upor-najwieksza-slabosc-kaczynskiego-ta-nieznosna.html

-- DOES DUDA KNOW WHAT HE'S SAYING - JACEK ŻAKOWSKI IN GW: “Andrzej Duda: ‘The victorious majority cannot be denied the right to implement its program.’ Can we really not deny it after Hitler? Perhaps sometimes we must? If the majority is to implement its program as it wishes, then what is the point of parliament and the opposition? Why are decrees from the leader of the majority not sufficient? Are we talking about the program revealed during the campaign, or the one being implemented and previously hidden (control of the courts by the authorities, eradicating Poland from the West)? Are we talking about the majority of voters, or the majority of MPs? After 1989, the parliamentary majority represented the votes of 20-25% of voters. Is everything permitted for a majority of MPs representing a minority of voters? What, then, is the point of the constitution and the Constitutional Tribunal? If the parliamentary majority of term X nationalizes everything, the majority of term Y privatizes everything, and then the majority of term Z nationalizes again, etc. – will that be a sign of good democracy?”

-- SLD SHOWED MORE SELF-CRITICISM THAN PO AFTER LOSING POWER - KRZYSZTOF WOŁODŹKO IN GPC: “This is a constant motif of the liberal opposition: whenever we look at their protests, demonstrations, and pickets, we might think they don't understand why they lost power. I have the impression that after losing power for various reasons, the SLD showed more self-criticism than PO. But Leszek Miller had only ‘Trybuna’ behind him, while PO has strong commercial media standing behind them. And these cannot afford to criticize the Civic Platform too much – they have no other political hope.” https://gpcodziennie.pl/94018-ichjedynanadzieja.html

-- EAGLE ON UNDERWEAR YES, ON A RAINBOW NO - MAREK BEYLIN IN GW: “The eagle from the Equality March, like the eagles of the All-Poles, differs from the official emblem. According to Brudziński's restrictive words, Poland should be teeming with prosecution cases against those who defile national symbols or make jokes out of them. An internet hit from August 2017 – Jarosław Kaczyński and Joachim Brudziński take photos during a mountain hike in white and red capes with an eagle. A sacred national symbol transformed into a raincoat is blatant mockery, so I encourage Brudziński to report himself and his boss to the prosecutor's office.” http://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,23678705,w-polsce-kaczynsko-brudzinskiej-orzel-moze-byc-na-gaciach-ale.html

-- TRUMP WILL RETURN TO THE US AND POLAND WILL BE LEFT BETWEEN RUSSIA AND GERMANY - MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ: “We will not be the Trojan horse of the USA in Europe for a very simple reason: for our interests, both excellent relations with the EU and with the United States are important. And it is precisely Angela Merkel, disliked by the right, who has done a lot in recent years to maintain EU sanctions against Russia for the annexation of Crimea, which the American leader is ready to recognize. Trump will return to Washington from Europe in a few days, and Poland will continue to be caught between Germany and Russia. We should remember this especially before the Trump-Putin summit on Monday.” http://www.rp.pl/Komentarze/180719643-Polska-nie-bedzie-koniem-trojanskim-Trumpa.html

-- IN PIOTR PACEWICZ'S OPINION, TUSK WANTED TO PROVOKE KACZYŃSKI: “By throwing down the gauntlet to Kaczyński and ‘benevolently’ suggesting it’s worth ‘checking his mood,’ Tusk publicly poses the question of the leader's readiness to hold state office. The President of Europe is practically mocking the weakened leader of the right-wing camp, while also pointing out that he should take political responsibility since he is ruling anyway.” https://oko.press/po-co-tusk-rzuca-kaczynskiemu-rekawice-skoro-ten-bokser-nie-wyjdzie-juz-na-ring-4-powody/

-- ALEKSANDER KWAŚNIEWSKI ON THE VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION - speaking to Jacek Nizinkiewicz in RZ:“Meanwhile, the constitutional debate in Poland is turned on its head. We have a charade of discussion, a referendum is to be held, it's unclear what questions will be asked, and there's no certainty it will even take place. The constitution is not treated seriously in Poland, let alone being violated by the authorities for the past two years.”

-- KWAŚNIEWSKI ON BARBARIANS: “The constitution cannot defend itself against a revolution, against legal barbarians.” http://www.rp.pl/Polityka/180719654-Aleksander-Kwasniewski-Konstytucji-nie-obroni-sie-przed-rewolucja.html

-- WOJCIECH ENGELKING BOTH DEFENDS AND DOES NOT DEFEND RAFAŁ TRZASKOWSKI A BIT: “What did Rafał Trzaskowski do that on a Friday afternoon my liberal, young-leftist, rather intellectual social bubble considered him the best target for attacks? He boasted that at one time Prof. Geremek – in French, at the Natolin College – examined him on the works of Edgar Morin; that a decade later, as a minister, he presented Morin with an award in Paris; that he then remembered Geremek, who reminded him of a character from a Rembrandt painting. Stylistically, his post, it is true, echoes the pretentiousness of Ananiasz from ‘The Class Trip’; however, this does not justify pointing out alleged elitism in Trzaskowski's words – for there is no elitism in his words.”

-- ENGELKING ON TRZASKOWSKI'S FAILURE TO UNDERSTAND THE ANTI-ELITE SENTIMENT: “Trzaskowski's ineptitude lies in his failure to understand that his social and cultural competencies, normal for the European middle class, are entirely irrelevant to the moment when he is vying for the office of Mayor of Warsaw. And although there is nothing particularly groundbreaking in the statement that the Western world in 2018 is a place where the dominant emotion is dislike of elites, this statement should be repeated because in the case of the PO candidate, it is clearly visible what this dislike is based on.” http://wiadomosci.gazeta.pl/wiadomosci/7,161770,23674747,engelking-skumulowanie-w-jednym-wpisie-paryza-rembrandta-i.html

-- JUSTYNA DRATH, CANDIDATE FOR VICE-MAYOR, TO ŚPIEWAK ABOUT PO'S BLACKMAIL:“What you're talking about is a somewhat worn-out blackmail tactic by the so-called 'united opposition' camp. We don't want to be held hostage by this blackmail. If PO wants to court votes, let them do it themselves; we won't do it for them. We are running to show that there is a third, left-wing force in Warsaw, because neither PiS nor PO are good options for Warsaw.” http://krytykapolityczna.pl/kraj/miasto/drath-wygra-warszawa/
