New Constitutional Tribunal judges before the Presidential Chancellery:

We are submitting our written oath of office to the President, completing the formalities.

Michał Lubowicki

- We are properly and effectively elected judges of the Constitutional Tribunal. In accordance with Article 194(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the exclusive competence to elect judges of the Constitutional Tribunal lies with the Sejm - stated Krystian Markiewicz during a press briefing with the participation of other judges of the Constitutional Tribunal elected by the Sejm.

- It is our duty to immediately commence performing our judicial duties. We are subject only to the Constitution. We are, according to the oath of office, to serve the nation faithfully, to uphold the Constitution, and to perform the duties entrusted to us impartially and with the utmost diligence - he continued.

- Enabling the pronouncement of this oath in a solemn form is the duty of the President of the Republic of Poland. Not towards us, but towards the nation - he pointed out.

- The President of the Republic of Poland acted this way only towards two of us. We have therefore decided to take the oath, to which we invited Mr. President. Our oath was directed to the President of the Republic of Poland. We are submitting our written oath of office to the President, thereby completing all the formalities necessary to assume office - he declared.

- Law must bring order to the situation in the country. We are assuming the offices of judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, ready to perform all tasks that lie before us, with respect for the Constitution and the citizens it is meant to protect - he concluded.
