Szczucki on Newly Elected Constitutional Tribunal Judges:

For the Good of the State, Taking These Oaths Should Be Seriously Considered.

- The Marshal is playing his political game, and he should participate in this dialogue. A dialogue that would likely end constructively - Krzysztof Szczucki said in RMF FM.

- If the election was correct, then yes - he continued, when asked if the president should swear in 6 newly elected judges of the Constitutional Tribunal.

- This must stem from the correspondence [whether the election was correct] - he went on to say, when asked if the election was correct.

- There is only one doubt that I have, which I don't know how to resolve. The election, in accordance with the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal and comments on the Constitution, should be conducted in such a way as to immediately fill the vacant positions, so that there are no vacancies. Here we had long vacancies, and these judges were elected in 6 ballots, but without specifying which positions each judge was assigned to... - he added, when pressed on the same issue.

- In my opinion, ultimately, for the good of the state, taking these oaths should be seriously considered at the end, but after establishing that all procedures have been clarified by the Marshal, that he has answered all the president's questions, then I assume that the swearing-in could take place - he noted, when asked if, in his opinion, this was a circumstance that entitled the president not to accept the oaths.

- I would like us to rise above this inter-party dispute and say: fine, they are not liked, these people who have been elected are terrible, but if all procedures have been followed, and this should be clarified in this exchange of correspondence, then ultimately one must accept their oaths - he mentioned.
