Tusk:

Poland Was, Is, and Will Be an Advocate for Wise EU Enlargement

Mateusz Nowak

- What we discussed today, namely geopolitics in the context of this European path for Armenia [...] is still a subject of very lively debate in Poland: how the European Union should expand - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement after meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia.

- Today we also discussed, and in a very realistic way, how your decision to open this process, the decision of parliament at the request of Armenian citizens, will become a practical process - he continued.

- Today it is very clear that Europe, the European Union, as we discussed in the Polish parliament [...] is truly a very good political invention. Regardless of occasional conflicts of interest and differing opinions, nations and states united in the European Union greatly benefit from acting together - he went on to say.

- In an era where aggressive forces, cynical forces, forces that do not respect international order are once again gaining prominence, the unity of states and nations with a similar political culture, attached to similar values, is absolutely priceless - he added.

- Armenia's aspiration and your personal consistency in charting this European path for Armenia are absolutely justified. Poland was, is, and will be an advocate for wise, if necessary cautious, very pragmatic, expansion of the European Union. If necessary, also for changing the European Union so that there are more and more states and nations enjoying freedom, independence, and security - he emphasized.
