Kotula Announces Meetings with the President Regarding the Nearest Person Status Bill:
We Will Fight for a Signature.
"I know and I believe that this bill [on the status of the nearest person in a relationship and a common-law partnership agreement], thanks to the work of The Left, thanks to our presence in the government, will find its way to the President's desk. I will be meeting with the President, along with Urszula Pasławska [...]. We will do everything we can to use substantive arguments to convince the President" - said Katarzyna Kotula at a press conference in the Sejm.
As she emphasized: "This bill takes nothing away from anyone. It is not a threat to Polish marriages. This is not a bill about marriage. This is a bill about guarantees of security, about legal protection."
"We will do everything and we will fight for it to be signed, because the President promised that he would sign the bill on the status of the nearest person in a relationship. The President has a patchwork family, and I believe the President will fulfill his promise and prove to be the President of all Polish women and all Polish men" - she stated.
