Tusk on SAFE: I hope these doubts or grimaces of reluctance that appeared during the National Security Council meeting are not a prelude to a veto

- Frankly speaking, I did not fully understand the nature of the doubts or uncertainty of the President, or his associates, regarding the added value that SAFE provides. Both the Minister of National Defence, the Minister of Finance, and other individuals involved in designing SAFE, including the generals who decide on these technical matters, what to order, where to place this money, it seems to me that everyone presented very coherent and consistent information about SAFE – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk before departing for Belgium.

He stated: - I hope that these doubts or, I would say, these grimaces of reluctance that appeared during this discussion are not a prelude to a veto. We need the law for SAFE to finally become a reality, the government has completed its work, and I am counting on – I am not saying that there is any rush needed here, although every day would be a shame – but I hope that the entire National Security Council meeting was not solely for the purpose of preparing public opinion for a presidential veto.

- It would be, as the saying goes, an irreparable loss if the President were to decide on that – he assessed.
