Czarzasty in Zaleszany:

No Truth Will Be Obscured.

Michał Olech

- We have come here today to the scene of a crime. 80 years ago, a crime was committed here, and on behalf of the Polish state, as Marshal of the Sejm, I want to say this in a loud voice. There is no other interpretation of what happened here in Zaleszany 80 years ago. I want to, with full respect, remember the names of Niczyporuk, Bilewski, Bondaruk, Golonko, as well as Miuk, Sawczuk, Pietruczuk, and many, many other families. On behalf of the Polish state, I want to bow before the residents of Zaleszany, Zanie, Szpaki, Końcowizna, Stare Ucharów, and Wólka Wyganowska - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Zaleszany.

- It was a crime, people were murdered who did not fight against Poland, who were Orthodox, who, simply according to those who killed them, were different. People were murdered for being themselves. And there is no explanation for it. There is no justification in this matter. This crime bears the hallmarks of genocide. And I want to tell you after 80 years, as the Marshal of the Polish Sejm, that there is no justification whatsoever for this matter. You have endured terrible moments, and your loved ones were murdered. And there is no other interpretation in this matter. And there will be no other interpretation in this matter - he continued.

- I am saying this in the presence of my colleagues from the Polska 2050 club, from Civic Platform, from The Left. But that is not what matters. What matters is that all these people, because they have a heart, because they have a clear stance on this matter, are present here. They are present here and they are telling you the truth. And they are confirming the truth that for many years, by certain circles, was meant to be obscured - emphasized the Marshal of the Sejm.

- It will not be obscured, because every crime should be named, and no truth will be obscured. This is not my first time here. It doesn't matter how many times I've been, although it's many times. I was here when I wasn't a Member of Parliament. Then when I was a Member of Parliament, when I was a Deputy Marshal. Now I am the Marshal. I am here because my heart calls me to be. I am here out of a need of the heart, not a political need. I have visited, I am visiting, and I will continue to visit. I wanted to bow very deeply before you, before the families of all those who were murdered. I also thank the Archbishop for his presence. I had a long conversation with him. We both spoke. We have the same view on this matter. He always did, and the Polish state did not always. And today we have met over the graves of the murdered - he added.
