Żukowska on the Presidential Invitation:
Thank You, I'll Pass.
- The decision was immediate, I immediately wrote to the head of the Chancellery, Mr. Bogucki, that I thank him very much, but I will not accept the invitation - said Anna Maria Żukowska on "Poranek TOK FM", when asked about the president's meeting with representatives of parliamentary clubs and circles.
The leader of The Left club cited the commemorations in Zaleszany, which she is scheduled to attend with the Marshal of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, to "honor the memory of the so-called cursed soldiers" as the reason.
- The invitation was personal - she continued, when asked about sending another representative of The Left to the meeting with the president.
- No, because historical memory is important [...] for The Left, it has always been important to be in this place - she went on to say, answering the question of whether someone else could not attend the historical commemorations.
- Regardless of this event, I believe that the format for the president's meetings with the leaders of parliamentary clubs and circles is the National Security Council - she added.
- This is a strange format, such a summons [...] to individual meetings for reasons unknown [...] we are ready to discuss specific matters, if there is a topic concerning a specific bill, there will certainly be an opportunity to meet with the president - she stressed.
