- The project concerning the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP). Within the KPO [National Reconstruction Plan]... there is one of the milestones. [...] This milestone involved ultimately abolishing precarious employment contracts. It has been replaced by a milestone where we will grant the National Labour Inspectorate the authority to, in cases where the law is broken and a precarious contract is used for, for example, a year or two... the PIP inspector will state that it should be an employment contract. - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.
- This is, firstly, fulfilling European standards, secondly, the implementation of the KPO, which is threatened by a fine of 11 billion, and thirdly, it is the defence of Polish employees. [...] As long as The Left is in the government, the era of limiting employee rights is over. We defend employees - he emphasized.
- You defend employees, but at the very end, Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister Berek come and say: "We are withdrawing these regulations" - commented Marek Tejchman, referring to reports in "Gazeta Wyborcza".
- There is no row. There was a discussion about Christmas Eve, there was a discussion about assistance, there was a discussion about shortening working hours. We are starting a conversation about what to do with this problem. Something needs to be done about this problem - replied the Marshal of the Sejm.
- But it was a project, there were comments on it. The project went to the government on Tuesday and it's being withdrawn, right? - the journalist continued.
- But it is not being withdrawn anywhere. It is being discussed, because it is a difficult problem. Eliminating precarious contracts, which The Left has always supported, is a big problem - Czarzasty responded.
Responding to the host's remark that criticism of the project concerned its automatic nature and a scenario where an entrepreneur would have to pay contributions for previous years, which could "break more than one business," the Marshal replied: - Okay, what does that indicate? That we need to sit down again - this project has not been withdrawn from the government - and discuss it for another month or two.
- To be clear: nothing will happen to this project if all parties work on it one by one. [...] All parties should work on it, because the government is cohesive, a coalition, and four parties have the right to have their voice in this government. And I will defend that. And the parties are different. We defend employees - stated Czarzasty.
