- I'm saying this in my own name, not on behalf of the government, because it's not in the coalition agreement, and coalition solidarity binds me - I believe that a cadastral tax, a tax on surplus apartments, on the third and subsequent apartments, is a good solution - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz during a debate with Mateusz Morawiecki at "Krynica Forum 2025".

- In Poland, less than 1% of people own three or more apartments. A wealth tax on surplus apartments achieves two things. Firstly, it makes investing in apartments less profitable, thus freeing up apartments for their intended purpose, which is housing. At the same time, capital that today goes into concrete can flow into start-ups, Polish enterprises, and innovations - she argued.
