A legislative fast-track is underway – two government draft bills, which the Council of Ministers will adopt on Tuesday, are scheduled to be addressed by Members of Parliament in the Sejm as early as Wednesday. These concern a draft bill on a heating voucher, which proposes extending the maximum electricity price mechanism of 500 PLN/MWh for households until the end of the year. The proposal also introduces the aforementioned heating voucher.

The second draft is an amendment to an amendment of certain acts concerning the verification of eligibility for family benefits for foreigners and the conditions for assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict in that country – in practice, it aims to link the right to the 800+ benefit for non-EU foreigners to their activity in the labor market.

According to the current version of the schedule, the second readings of these drafts are already planned for Friday morning – meaning that votes on the adoption of the final regulations will take place on the same day, and the entire legislative process in the Sejm will conclude in just over 50 hours.
