Says MFA Spokesperson on Note Handed to Russian Embassy:
Poland Demands Clarification of Incident and Cessation of Similar, Provocative Actions,
– Today in the afternoon, a protest note was handed to the Embassy of the Russian Federation regarding the events that transpired in Osiny on the night of August 19-20. As a reminder, an unmanned aerial vehicle exploded there – said MFA Spokesperson Paweł Wroński during a press conference.
– In this note, Poland indicates that the Russian Federation violated the 1992 Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, as well as the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, and numerous customary laws. According to the MFA, this incident is a deliberate provocation by the Russian Federation, an element of hybrid warfare, and another highly unfriendly act against the Republic of Poland, as well as against European states – he continued.
– Poland condemns all actions that pose a threat to the civilian population and reiterates that such an event is related to Russia's aggression against Ukraine [...]. Poland demands an explanation of this incident from the Russian Federation and the cessation of similar provocative actions – he further stated.
– In the opinion of the MFA, this incident undermines the credibility of the Russian Federation as a reliable participant in any peace process and as a participant in any actions within the international community – he added.
