– I would ask that not all hunters be judged solely based on this incident […] in Poland, there is no collective responsibility for professions or professional groups – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press briefing, when asked if he had revised his view on the PSL’s opposition to mandatory checks for hunters in connection with the arrest of a hunter who fatally shot a person.

– Of course, every such case where the law has been broken, and the court here has taken very restrictive measures, is unacceptable and a tragedy […]. As for checks, I am entirely in favor of checks for all gun owners […] and I am not in favor of stigmatizing any social or professional group – he continued.

– Let’s implement the same rules for all gun owners – he went on.

– I am always open to dialogue, conversation, cooperation, and understanding, but I will not agree to stigmatizing one group or taking any actions that imply only certain gun owners should undergo checks, while others are exempt – he added.
