Leśkiewicz:
Washington Meeting Was Important, But No Key Decisions Made
– These talks are only just beginning. What happened yesterday in Washington, certainly an important meeting, is only the start of the entire process aiming to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine – said Rafał Leśkiewicz on “Sygnały dnia” (Signals of the Day) on Polish Radio One.
– The behind-the-scenes of Polish diplomacy and how we should, or will, be present during these talks should not be discussed too loudly just before these talks begin. Consultations and discussions are, of course, planned – he continued.
– As Ukraine's closest neighbor, also possessing the logistics hub in Jasionka, we will be present at every stage of key peace talks. And a key moment […] will be the President's meeting on September 3rd at the White House – he pointed out.
Referring back to yesterday's Washington meeting, he stated: – It was certainly important, but again – this is one of many meetings, the first meeting. No key, concrete decisions were made there. Key decisions will certainly be made after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's meeting with Putin, during trilateral talks involving President Donald Trump.
– We will be present at every stage, and Poland's voice will certainly be heard in these talks. Above all, Poland's interest […] will be strongly represented – he assured.
