Leśkiewicz:
Nawrocki Not Opposed to Ukraine's NATO Bid, But Sees No Immediate Place
– He stated under what circumstances this membership would be possible. President Karol Nawrocki did not present a categorical position that would exclude Ukraine from either NATO or the European Union. He clearly stated that at this moment, given the geopolitical situation we are in, there is no place for Ukraine in NATO. However, he did not rule it out – said Rafał Leśkiewicz on PR1's „Sygnały dnia”.
– This was clearly emphasized during both the debates held throughout the election campaign and in many other statements by the president-elect, now President Karol Nawrocki. Thus, there is no situation where President Karol Nawrocki would rule out Ukraine's NATO membership. He simply said that he does not currently envision such membership – stated the president's spokesperson.
– In a broader context, it clearly emerged that he is currently opposed to Ukraine's NATO membership at this very moment. One of the extremely important issues that could influence a change in President Nawrocki's stance is the resolution of matters concerning the victims of the Volhynia genocide and the commencement of search and exhumation work – he indicated.
– Let's not propagate a false narrative suggesting that President Karol Nawrocki is an opponent of Ukraine's NATO membership. He is not an opponent of Ukraine's NATO membership. Currently, he does not see a place for Ukraine in NATO, and he by no means questions Ukraine's future presence in the North Atlantic Alliance – he emphasized.
