Washington Mission Head Took No Steps for Polish Representative's Presence at Yesterday's Meeting

"Regarding the presence at yesterday's meeting in Washington, we have two positions. On the one hand, the President states that he will be at a meeting with Donald Trump on September 3rd, and we confirm that during discussions with President Donald Trump, the issue of how to conduct talks with Putin was strongly emphasized," said Rafał Leśkiewicz in an interview with Karol Surówka on PR1's "Sygnały dnia."

"However, the key discussions and talks regarding how this meeting in Washington was to unfold took place within the framework of the 'coalition of the willing' meetings on Saturday and Sunday. Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister Radosław Sikorski participated in these meetings. During these meetings, no interest was expressed for Poland's participation in the meeting organized by Donald Trump, which also included President Volodymyr Zelenskyy," stated the President's spokesperson.

"No interest was expressed for a Polish representative to participate. Moreover, our embassy, the head of the mission in Washington, also took no steps aimed at ensuring that a Polish representative would attend the meeting in Washington," he added.
