Żurek:

If I get the Prime Minister's approval, I will meet with the President. When it comes to the laws we want to change, he cannot be bypassed.

- Of course, I know my constitutional duties and I know the President's duties. My boss is the Prime Minister, so if I get such approval from the Prime Minister and there is such a willingness from the Presidential Chancellery, I also know people who worked in previous chancellories, and I also know those who are in the Presidential Chancellery today – said Waldemar Żurek in Polsat News, when asked if he declared cooperation with the President regarding the reform of the judiciary and was ready for a meeting with him. - I have certain red lines. This is the restoration of a legal National Council of the Judiciary [...] this is the issue of substitutes in the Constitutional Tribunal and so-called neo-judges in the Supreme Courts – he continued. - Of course, yes, I have no objection here, because I believe that for the good of Poland, it is important that we work out the best possible project – he added, when asked if, upon receiving approval from Prime Minister Tusk for contact with the President, he would go and talk with him or his people. - In the case of the laws we want to change for the system to start working, the President cannot be bypassed – he added, when asked if the President did not accept his arguments, he would consider it pointless to talk to him and would bypass him by changing the law.
