- I am a proponent of prosecutors and state services functioning correctly. Parliamentary inquiry committees were effective when these services were not operating appropriately, and at that time they demonstrated to the public the passivity of certain services, especially during the period when Poles demanded funds from the KPO, and due to various actions, the actions of the previously ruling party, these funds were blocked because we lacked guarantees of their proper expenditure - stated Waldemar Żurek at a press conference at the Świnoujście-Garz border crossing, when asked about the next steps regarding irregularities with the KPO and the proposal from PiS to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee. - We know how many proceedings are underway in the prosecutor's office concerning various ill-conceived investments, embezzlements, and corrupt situations; we will be examining these proceedings - he continued. - First and foremost, it is necessary to verify when all the regulations for the use of KPO funds were enacted. Whether the current government has changed them, who was responsible for this, and this is already being done - he added.
