Przydacz:

We Support Ukraine, But We Also Set Conditions

Michał Olech

Regarding Ukraine, the President has stated on many occasions that in terms of military and humanitarian support, if the need arises, Ukraine can count on Polish assistance because it is fighting an aggressor, fighting a neo-imperial, neo-colonial Russia. [...] So, the sharp edge of our policy concerning Russia will certainly be very visible. On the Ukrainian issue, we have discussed, the President has spoken with President Zelensky, there are many positive elements, but of course, issues that are important to Poles today have also emerged. This is also spoken about loudly; these are matters of a historical nature - stated Marcin Przydacz on the program "Sygnały dnia" on PR1, when asked about the President's stance on relations with Ukraine. - We understand, we help, we are with you in this fight, but remember that Poles also have certain expectations, and one of these expectations is, for example, the issue of exhumations, the issue of restoring the memory of these individuals. And we will not give up on this; on the contrary, we will strive to raise it, to push through various instruments. I am not against conditionality in foreign policy, Madam Editor. After all, it is something completely natural - concluded Marcin Przydacz - he continued. - Donald Tusk talks about unconditional support for Ukraine in every single aspect. And we say: we support Ukraine, but we also set certain conditions, even concerning Ukraine itself, because if it wants to join the European Union someday, and here President Nawrocki, even in his conversation with Mentzen, as you may recall, said: "it would be good if Ukraine someday in the future were part of the broadly understood West” - Przydacz concluded.
