It Was Quite Surprising.

"It was quite surprising to me, because if this is a celebration, a celebration of democracy, when this very important act of transferring the command of the armed forces to the President takes place, I thought that even the President's sympathizers should respect that," stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in the program "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day) on TVP INFO, when asked about the behavior of the audience in Piłsudski Square, who drowned out the speech of the head of the Ministry of National Defence - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. "I remember, I don't know in which year it was, when once a crowd attacked Marshal Borusewicz, but back then Lech Kaczyński had the courage and silenced those people in his speech. He said that one should not behave like that. Here, the President had a chance in his address to say: 'Listen, this is an important day. We are talking about the security of our country. Please, let us respect the Minister of National Defence, the Deputy Prime Minister, because we are talking about the same, most important issues,'" she continued. "I think it would have been a good signal that we are seeking agreement, reconciliation, and that on this day we can respect each other. There is a great lack of that respect," Kidawa-Błońska concluded.
