Berek on Increasing the Tax-Free Allowance:
No Sooner Than After 2027.
- This is one of the projects [increasing the tax-free allowance to PLN 60,000], which we have discussed many times in terms of its concept and assumptions, because we all know that it is a very important commitment for a large group. [...] And Minister Domański has pointed out the massive financial consequences from the very beginning - said Maciej Berek on "Graffiti" Polsat News.
Cost? PLN 60 billion
As he indicated: - We are talking about tens of billions of zlotys, because that is how much it would cost, if I remember correctly, around PLN 60 billion. This is the annual cost of this solution.
"No Sooner Than After 2027"
- Following the discussions that have taken place, as the Prime Minister communicated yesterday, we are upholding this commitment, while stating that it may be realized no sooner than after 2027, or come into effect after 2027. However, naturally, we will try to present legislative solutions earlier - he emphasized.
- A law could even be passed with a future effective date, because we can also proceed in this manner - he added.
State of Public Finances and Defence Spending
- The truth is also that we truly understood the state of public finances only when Minister Domański took over the Ministry of Finance and realized the facts. And it turned out to be much worse than he expected, much worse than it was portrayed in public discourse, in the propaganda of his predecessors. And unfortunately, he had to adapt to the conditions he manages. And the second circumstance, which has also been mentioned many times, [...] is the issue of continuously increasing defence spending - he stated.
