KRRiT Announces Świrski's Dismissal. Świrski: No Legal Basis
Based on Article 9(1) in conjunction with Article 7(2b) of the Act of December 29, 1992, on Radio and Television, and driven by concern for the accurate fulfillment of the KRRiT's constitutional duties, which are threatened by the actions of the ruling coalition in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Council Members have dismissed Maciej Świrski from the position of Chairman of the KRRiT by a statutory majority of four votes - the KRRiT announced.
According to the communiqué, Agnieszka Glapiak has become the Chairman of the KRRiT, elected by a statutory majority of four votes. Hanna Karp has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the KRRiT, also elected by a statutory majority of four votes.
Maciej Świrski, in turn, stated in a declaration that the convened session had no legal force, as only the chairman can convene a session and resume it after an adjournment.
