– Today we want to address the issue of Polish armaments, but in this case, it's a matter also very closely linked to the EU, to its efforts and announcements related to this very field. Because as for the stance of our political opponents, they evidently pinned great hopes on the EU in this area, claiming that it was precisely the EU that could help us. So, what is the real situation? It is that we are dealing with decisions that very strongly impact our defense interests, as well as our economic interests, which are linked in this case – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

“Everything Must Be Bought in the EU”

– Regarding our share of this pie, initially small, as it's only 1.5 billion euros, but later this pie is supposed to be greatly expanded, some even mention 600 billion euros, our share is currently at zero. Practically speaking, Germany, France, and Spain are to benefit from this, not us. However, we are to be subject to restrictions concerning contracts that have already been announced or even concluded, because these are contracts outside the EU, the USA, and Korea. We made those purchases there, and here the condition is that everything must be bought within the EU, whose armament capabilities and defense industry are currently limited – he continued.

“Germans Are to Command”

– Demands are currently being made, which, to put it simply, boil down to Germans being in command, just as General Beseler, who was the governor of the part of the Kingdom of Poland occupied by Germany, as part of it was occupied by Austria-Hungary, had dreamt of – emphasized the PiS chairman.

“Will PO Continue to Support Weber?”

The question is whether PO will continue to support this gentleman [Weber]. And finally, there is one issue, almost a myth, which is the Eastern Shield. Regarding the shield, there are no funds, concerning the decisions that are being made in the EU today, were made in the EU, or are already planned, none are visible. That's the first point, and the second – the Eastern Shield would certainly be useful, and such a plan, although without that name, was discussed at Security Committee meetings when I was its chairman. But it's a truly massive plan if it is to make sense – said Kaczyński.

“We Are Dealing with Democratic Governance, Only with Constant Manipulation”

This is more or less like the fight against legal highs, like the idea of castrating pedophiles, and similar ideas. The biggest of these was the introduction of the euro within an unrealistic timeframe, because it was completely impossible, but there were always many such ideas, because here we are dealing with democratic governance, only with constant manipulation, I spoke about this yesterday at the convention – he noted.

“Return to Major Non-European Contracts is Needed”

We do not need manipulation, but defense, a return to major non-European contracts. These are real at the moment, and they can quickly supply us with the weapons we need – he said.
