Duda defends TV Republika:
Media that do not uncritically praise the current authorities are being stripped of their broadcasting rights.
– I believe that it is none other than Solidarity [...] that is predestined to guard this Poland that it regained for us. So that this Poland remains a free, sovereign Poland, where rights are respected, where people are not imprisoned for having different views. Or for belonging to a party that the authorities do not like – said President Andrzej Duda during the XXXII National Congress of Delegates of the NSZZ "Solidarność".
– So that this Poland is not a Poland where media that do not voice views and do not uncritically praise the current authorities are liquidated, closed down, and stripped of their broadcasting rights, as is currently being attempted. So that, in short, we do not let freedom of speech be snatched away from us – he continued.
– Because you know what will happen if they take away our freedom of speech? In a moment, it will turn out that Solidarity is a criminal organization and that it cannot operate, that it must be liquidated, just as they tried to liquidate it once before. Fortunately, they failed. That is why I ask you to guard Poland – he continued.
