Sikorski on Migration Principles, Recalling Visa Scandal:

We've Built a Dam.

– The borders of Poland, NATO, the European Union, and the Schengen Area must be defended not only against Putin's army but also against illegal migration, which is part of the hybrid warfare waged by the dictators of Russia and Belarus against the West. The government of the United Right left chaos in migration policy, culminating in the visa scandal. We had to act quickly – said Radosław Sikorski during his exposé in the Sejm.

– As early as January 2024, I suspended the functioning of Poland.Business Harbour, a program launched in 2020 to facilitate access to the Polish labor market for IT professionals from Belarus, and later also from Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. In the autumn of last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prepared a draft law for the Sejm to eliminate irregularities in the visa system – he continued.

– I raised visa fees and tightened the system for issuing student visas. We support the arrival of genuine students for genuine studies, but we will not allow the devaluation of Polish diplomas or the use of pseudo-studies to extort work permits in the European Union – he went on to say.

– Migration management cannot be considered in isolation from the goals of the Polish economy. […] We need experts who will provide support in the fields of digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence. We have built a dam against the uncontrolled influx of unskilled migrants. Lower-skilled workers from outside the EU can apply for seasonal work in Poland for a period of up to 9 months – he added.

– We accept those who will not disrupt our social cohesion and can strengthen our economy. We deport those who break the law or may pose a threat – he emphasized.
