Former Director of the Fund for Assistance Accuses Sovereign Poland Politicians:

The Goal Was to Build Political Capital.

Yes, before the competition began, [Zbigniew Ziobro] spoke with foundations, future beneficiaries, about the competition conditions, how much money they would receive, and that they would be granted support, meaning contact through one of the deputy directors who writes such applications if they wished to use them. Such lists were established and approved. Nothing could happen without his knowledge and his approval - stated Tomasz Mraz, former director of the Department of the Fund for Assistance at the Ministry of Justice, during a session of the committee for settling accounts with PiS. Minister Ziobro, Minister Romanowski, Minister Woś, one of the current Sovereign Poland MPs, Dariusz Matecki, whose entity was supposed to create three regional portals that were also, in reality, meant to praise the actions of Sovereign Poland politicians - he continued. Perhaps one could argue that these portals were intended to run some informational campaigns, and incidentally, from time to time, publish the image of a specific politician, sometimes conduct an interview with them. This does not change the fact that the primary goal was precisely to build political capital using the resources of the Fund for Assistance - he added.
