Nowacka:

PiS MPs expected a public hearing yesterday. Do you remember the hearing when they were liquidating the in vitro program? No, they did it for purely ideological reasons

- What happened yesterday in the committee, even the word "hypocrisy" doesn't capture its depth. You saw two representatives from PiS. Both wearing glasses, the gentleman with a plaster on his forehead. So I want to tell you: glasses don't cure vision defects, and a plaster doesn't cure either. Let's imagine that eight years ago, someone said that only wealthy people could have access to glasses. A scandal, right? How would you feel? And you took away the poorest the opportunity to benefit from in vitro refunds. You took away the right for someone who simply cannot afford the multiple attempts, usually costing 15,000-20,000, to use it – said Barbara Nowacka during a Sejm session. - The PiS representatives yesterday expected a public hearing. Do you remember, esteemed MPs, a public hearing when you were liquidating the in vitro program? No, then you did it for purely ideological reasons, pure ideology, a desire to take away from the poorest the right to have a child through medicine, while you yourselves, of course, were in little glasses, with plasters, and with mouths full of platitudes about love and cherishing family – she continued. - You have many remarks about the project, which consists of two points [...] you are starting to insert some of your ideological solutions into it again. [...] We must protect the rights of the child from the meannesses that you are voicing here – she added.
